Just a short one shot of an idea I had a little while ago so I finally decided to sit down and write it this morning while enjoying my morning coffee. Sorry its short. As usual all mistakes are my own and I own nothing. I started 4 different fics last night...which was not a good idea. Now all I want to do is sit down and write. Which I cant do as I have to parent my two boys...but I can play with these boys too right? Please enjoy. Also if you have any ideas for something you'd like to see in a fic I'd be more than happy to oblige and try and write it.

'Just put pressure on it okay, Sam? You hearing me?' Dean frantically took his eyes focus from the road ahead and onto his brother who seated beside him.

'Arghhh, this is your fault! If you just kept your mouth shut we wouldn't be in this mess.' Sam's eyes clenched shut as pain radiated through his forearm. Blood was practically pouring from the wound despite the tightly wrapped bandage.

Dean knew his brother was in-fact correct, though Sam had put himself in harms way, Dean could have handled the situation on his own. Sam had been waiting outside a local bar for his brother while he hustled pool. Only Dean had gotten cocky and made a few snide comments towards the large bald man which he clearly wasn't impressed with. In an instant Dean was thrown out the side door. Hearing the commotion Sam curiously made his way down the side ally way to see the fight break out. And in an instant he stood beside his brother helping as his defence. At only 16 Sam Winchester wasn't exactly much to look at but he was tall and he knew how to fight.

'Get out of here kid, this is between me and him' The bald man pointed to Dean, his voice gruff his eyes unfocused. Probably off his face thought Sam. He could smell the mix of alcohol on his breath. Small flecks of spit hitting him in his face as he spoke. Though Sam remained and stood firm and tall unmoved by the disgrace of a human in front of him.

'You got a problem with my brother than you got a problem with me!' Sam shot back in defence as he repressed his fear down within him.

The man's hands came into contact with Dean's chest. Pushing him forcefully as he came into contact with the ground. Sam now standing in the path between the two.

'I said get out of here kid!' And with that the bald man reached his arm out gripping onto an object which rested on dumpsters lid beside him. A piece of jagged rusted triangular shaped metal. He held it in his hand firmly as he raised the weapon of choice in the air. Sam raised his arm in front of him in defence and thats when he felt the searing pain radiate through his body followed by a warmness spread over his arm. He could see the bald man running away. He could no longer hear. Everything becoming muffled. He turned to face his brother. Dean was no longer on the ground but instead standing up saying something to him. Something he didn't understand, something he couldn't hear. He looked down at his arm. A large deep wound carved horizontally up his forearm. Bleeding profusely. Okay, he had been hurt. And the man who had done it had run away.

'Sam? Sammy? C'mon talk to me.'

Dean reached into his back pocket and pulled out a dark blue bandana piece of fabric and pressed it firmly onto his brothers would before tying it up to try and get the bleeding under control. His hands now covered in his brother's blood as he tried to remain calm for his younger brother who was clearly now in shock.

'Sammy, I'm gonna take you to the hospital okay, you're loosing too much blood, I don't think i can patch up a wound this bad.'

Sam managed to gather his thoughts and nodded in response and his big brother helped him rush to the car parked a block away.

'Just put pressure on it okay, Sam? You hearing me?'

'Arghhh, this is your fault! If you just kept your mouth shut we wouldn't be in this mess.'

'Hey you're the one who got in the middle of us. I had it under control Sam.'

'Yeh sure you did.' Sam was too dizzy to argue, his complexion rapidly becoming more and more pale. Dean's eyes continually darted from the road to his brothers well being. He was worried about him. He knew a wound like this had to be treated and treated fast. The hospital was 2 minutes away. He had to keep his brother awake. Keep him talking, keep him alert.

'Sammy? You still with me?'

Sam's eyes glazing over his head bobbled along with the imperfections of the road as the Impala sped down the unfamiliar streets.

'SAM?'

'Hmm'

'You hear me Sam? I said are you with me? I need you to stay awake buddy, think you can do that for me?

'Yeh..hey De...? You...suck...you gt push...dwn...lika grl'

Dean couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as they pulled into the hospital parking lot. Even while his brother was severely hurt he still had a way of throwing in a joke. Dean knew it was for his own comfort though, to try and ensure him not to worry about him too much.

The two brothers were placed in a small room together. Sam resting on the bed, he'd managed to maintain his conscious state. The blood transfusion would take a few hours to complete as the IV slowly supplied his body of what he needed. His wound had now been stitched up and he was beginning to feel a lot better. A nurse had brought in a bottle of orange juice which he slowly sipped on. The brothers were finally left alone together.

'So you call Dad yet?' Sam asked really not wanting to know the answer to the question he'd just asked.

'No, do you want me to?'

Sam thought for a moment.

'No, not yet, he's still on a hunt with Bobby. Besides were gonna have to tell him sooner or later, they're going to need our insurance.'

'Not if we make a break for it after they've treated you.' Dean replied. He leaned back in the chair he had been slouching in. Making an attempt to get comfortable. They wouldn't be leaving any time soon Dean knew that much. Not until the transfusion was done at least as well as the tetanus shot that the Doctor had spoken about which he had yet to come back to give him.

'So how you doin man?' Dean asked trying to change the conversations subject.

'Feeling a lot better now I guess' Sam replied now sitting himself up on the bed allowing his legs to dangle off the side.

'Good, that's good. You scared me you know. Don't ever do that again!'

'What? Save your ass?' Sam joked with his brother.

'Hey, if there was any ass saving today it was done by me. I'm the one that got you here.'

Sam sat silently at the remark as he shook his head in disagreement, a smile plastered on his face. He was beginning to feel a little better and he looked better. At that moment the doctor who had been treating Sam made an entrance into the room carrying a silver kidney dish in hand with something inside. His name was Dr Simmons. His dark grey hair was sleeked back with gel, his facial features kind and comforting. He had been a doctor for a long time. His face gave his patient a sympathetic smile.

'How are you feeling Sam?'

'Much better thanks, think I can get out of here soon?'

'Absolutely, just as soon as I give you this tetanus shot you'll be good to go and I'll also give you a script for antibiotics to make sure you don't get any nasty infections, once this is all done you boys can go out to the waiting room and sort out your insurance. I know you said your father was unreachable at the moment but we'll have to give him another try.' The doctor said with a beaming smile as he took out the clear filled syringe from the dish.

'Ready for this Sam?' The doctor asked.

'Sure' Sam replied, he wasn't phased by a small needle. He'd experienced worse pain in his life. He felt the sharp scratch of the needle pierce through his flesh as his heart rate proceeded to increase, a coldness enveloping his entire being. His vision darkened and he knew no more.

'Sam?'

'Sammy?'

He could hear two very different voices calling his name. One sounded worried the other older voice was calm. His head felt foggy. He slowly opened his eyes as they adjusted to the dimly lit room. Two faces peering into his vision.

'What happened?' Sam tried to sit up but both his brothers and the doctors hands forced him to stay down.

'You okay Sammy? You fainted...like a girl I might add. You've always been the dramatic one. Wait till I tell Dad about this.' Dean said with a worried smile. His joking was his way of trying to lighten the mood, trying to convince himself his brother was okay.

'Sam's body has been through quite the ordeal Dean, its a natural body response to do so especially after what he's been through.' The doctor now strapping a cuff to the younger Winchester's arm checking his blood pressure.

For a moment Dean felt for his little brother. The poor kid was obviously more exhausted than he led him on to believe. He took another look at his brother. Sam was embarrassed, that much he knew, his eyes looked tired and sunken, his complexion was pale, he was covered in a thin layer of sweat. Thats when Dean understood his brother wasn't well, Sam had lied to him for his own benefit.

'Sam your blood pressures still a little low, I'm going to leave you to rest for another hour then feel free to make your way out to the waiting room okay.' The doctor left the boys alone once again.

Dean looked at the bag that once contained a large amount of blood. Now almost empty.

'You ready to make a break for it Sammy?'

'Yeh... Dean, help me up?' Dean was by his brothers side in an instant as he helped escort him cautiously out of the hospital and into the familiar home of the Impala.

'You know we don't have to say anything to Dad right Sammy?'

'Really Dean? Because I don't know how I'm going to manage to hide a bandaged up arm and 32 stitches.'

'Just wear a long sleeve shirt or something, I don't know.'

'Yeh great plan Dean, right in the middle of Summer. He's gonna think I'm some sort of freak.'

'You are some sort of freak.' Dean replied to his brother with a smile as they pulled up into the familiar car parks motel.

'Hey, don't make me tell Dad how you screamed like a girl when that asshat tried to beat you up.'

'Did not bitch.' Dean shot back with a smile, happy to see his brother was recovering well.

'Jerk.' Sam returned the smile as the brothers made their way inside together.

The End
