Guess who's back! Me! Sorry for going MIA. I started a second job doing security and have hit a road block with NTJT. Read the end note.
Hope you all enjoy!
Perhaps it had been the way he had fallen to his knees gasping for air. Maybe it had been the way he had clutched at his head in utter agony. Or, most likely, Laxus thought with some shame as Wendy's demanding gaze settled upon him like a thousand weights, patiently awaiting his explanation, it had been the tears he had unknowingly shed that had momentarily dowsed the raging fires, shadows and winds roaring respectively and literally around all three slayers closest to Lucy.
Wendy, who had looked close to once more depriving his lungs of the air they so desperately needed, had settled for the simple demand of 'why' as soon as Laxus managed to compose himself.
Why indeed, Laxus questioned as Lucy's tearful eyes flashed across his mind. Pain blossoming within his chest at the memory, so vivid he could practically taste her tear. His gaze lowered to the ground, voice seemingly devoid of emotion, losing himself within the memories as he explained to the three the deal he and Lucy had struck and all events leading to their 'breakup' and recent encounter.
The three stood quiet as they listened, and if it were even possible, seemed to grow even more silent as he finished.
Gajeel was the one to break the tense silence, moving across the grass to kneel down in front of Laxus.
"Do you have any idea just how bad what's going on is? Of what you've just done to not only Lucy, but yourself and your Dragon?" He asked as calmly as he could given how utterly pissed he was at his elder slayer.
Laxus shook his head no, because he truly didn't understand what was going on and the sympathy and sadness he saw hidden behind Gajeel angered crimson orbs only served to make his heart drop down to the pit of his stomach. And Laxus would be lying if he said he didn't feel like vomiting his breakfast.
Word Count: 331 (I am honestly struggling between choosing two possible ending's for this. Like I want to finish this completely with no possibility for more, but at the same time I want to make a sequel. And idk if I want a bitter sweet ending or a happy one. sigh. Any input lol?)
