Another day in Chaotic, another chance for things to get chaotic. Natsu and Zach were at the portcourt and was enjoying a nice snack as they watched some of the drone matches.

"Hey, guys." Lucy said as she and Erza came over.

"Hey, girls. What's going on?" Natsu said.

"We're porting to Mipedim Oasis." Lucy said. "Erza and I are trying to get some new scans from the mipedians."

"You two want to come?" Erza asked.

"No thanks." Zach said. "I think we're both going to hang out here for a little while."

"Suit yourselves." Lucy said. The girls went on ahead to the transport system. As they left, Zach saw them off and waited for the right moment until they couldn't hear him.

"Hey, Natsu. Can I ask you something?" Zach said and got his attention. "How close friends are you with Lucy?"

"With Lucy?" Natsu asked. "She's my best friend. We've known each other since we were kids. Why?" He asked as he took a sip of his soda.

"Because I'm planning on asking Lucy out." Zach said. When he said that, Natsu practically choked on his soda.

"You're planning on doing what?!" Natsu said. "Why would you want to do that? Why Lucy? Why don't you ask Erza out?"

"Because Lucy is sweet, a real hottie, and Erza is a little scary." Zach said.

"No way! No! You are not asking her out!" Natsu said as he practically demanded that Zach can't.

"Why not? You said you and she are friends. Why do you care if I go out with her?" Zach said, but it didn't take him long to think of a reason and he gasped at it. "You like Lucy, don't you! You want to be more than friends with her!" As soon as he said that, Natsu's face was turning all red. "I'm right, aren't I?! You have a crush on her!" It was secretly true. Natsu actually has some strong feelings for Lucy and has for a long time. "Sorry, Natsu, but I plan on making my move. Lucy seems like a great girl and I'm taking a shot."

"No you're not!" Natsu said as he grabbed him by the jacket. "You are not asking her out!"

"And you are?" Zach said as he knocked Natsu's hand off. "I think I know of a way to settle this without you blowing a gasket. We battle it out in a drone match. I win, I ask her out. You win, you do whatever the heck you want with her."

"You're on and I'm not losing!" Natsu said as he thinks he's fighting for love or something.

The Hotek Drone

Natsu and Zach were able to get a drone. They were setting up their teams and both were looking forward to this. Not only was there a good prize for both of them, but this would also be the first time they battle each other.

"I hope you don't get too jealous when Lucy and I are on our dates." Zach said.

"Trust me when I say you're not going to like me when I'm upset, Zach." Natsu said.

"Fire-Dragneel, Chaotic-Man, lock your decks." They both locked their decks, but Natsu was a little surprised when saw Zach's team.

"What's going on? Why do you Attacat and Gespeden on a team of danians?" Natsu asked.

"I like to play mix armies." Zach said. "I mostly put danians on my team, but I like to throw in a couple other tribe creatures. So let's get started. The first attacks is yours." Natsu didn't know what he was planning, but went with it as he selected a location.

"The first location...The Passage."

"A passage between Underworld and Overworld. In that case... Dardemus attacks Attacat!" Both of them selected their creatures and became them.

"Let's get chaotic." Attacat said and the area around them changed. Attacat moved through the passage and was careful not to let Dardemus find him first. He looked around and didn't see him anywhere.

"Inferno Gust!" Attacat was surprised as Dardemus jumped down and used that fire attack with him blasting Attacat. "Here, kitty."

"Careful. This cat's got claws." Attacat said. Dardemus tried frying him again, but he was shocked when he saw Attacat moved incredibly fast. Attacat managed to get behind him and blasted him in the back.

"Since when can Attacat move that fast?" Dardemus questioned.

"I got a scan of him when his speed was way up. He's faster than Gespedan." Attacat said. He decided to pull out his battlegear and it was placed on his head.

"What is that?" Dardemus questioned.

"A mandiblor crown. Don't worry about that now. You'll see what it's used for soon, if you're lucky." Attacat said. he used that incredible speed of his again and smashed against Dardemus. Dardemus tried to keep his eye on him, but Attacat was too fast. It looked like he was making his way around and that gave Dardemus an idea.

"Skeletal Strike!" A skeleton emerged out of Dardemous and tried to intercept Attacat. Attacat came back around and the skeleton smashed against him. Attacat was able to shake it off, but Dardemus made his next attack as he smashed the ground and Attacat fell through. Attacat grabbed on to a ledge and was holding on. "Nighty night, kitty cat." Dardemus shot some flames straight down and blasted Attacat and he ended up getting coded.

"Looks like that mandiblor crown wasn't much help." Natsu said as he changed back to normal.

"Just wait. It will be more help than you think." Zach said and took his turn.

"The next location...The Riverlands."

"Perfect. Your hot underworlders don't stand a chance against this guy. Bierk attacks Magmon." They turned into their creatures and Zach was feeling good about this. The drone changed into a large river and Magmon was looking for Bierk.

"Where is that bug?" Magmon questioned.

"Down here, hotshot." Magmon looked down and spotted him.

"Lava-lanche!" Magmon shot some lava down at him, but some sort of shield blocked his attack. "What?!"

"Sorry, Natsu. Bierk is almost immune to fire attacks. I knew this location with him in it would be perfect to face against you." Bierk said. He pulled out a torrent krinth and made water attacks stronger. "Hive-phoon!" Bierk unleashed a cyclone blast and hit Magmon with it and did some damage. Bierk jumped over some rocks and launched another blast of water that tore right through where Magmon was standing and caused him to fall into the water and be carried by the current. "Have a nice swim." Magmon struggled to stay above the water. He reached out and grabbed a hold of a rock to keep him from being carried away.

"Song of GeoNova!" Magmon cast the mugic and a green beam came down and blasted Bierk, but Bierk was trying to resist it.

"You'll need more than that. Frost Blight!" Bierk unleashed a powerful blast of ice and it hit Magmon with him being carried away by the water again. Magmon tried to stay above the water, but the current grew stronger and he saw why. He was heading straight for a waterfall and he ended up going over. Magmon took a big fall and the fall was what coded him. They were back in the drone and it was tied up.

"I always thought you needed to cool down more." Zach said.

"Just wait! I'm about to turn up the heat!" Natsu said.

...

Mipedim Oasis

Lucy and Erza were able to sneak into a mipedian base. They searched around and were scanning some good stuff through the place.

"Got some good scans?" Erza asked.

"I think so. So can we get out of here?" Lucy said. "Those mipedians can turn invisible. They could be anywhere. That's a little creepy."

"I think so." Erza said as she took a look out the door and spotted something. "Lucy, come here and look." Lucy took a look and spotted a few mipedians passing by. One caught Erza's interest. "That's Prince Mudeenu. He's second in line for the thrown."

"Second? I thought he was the one in charge of this place." Lucy said.

"I've been wanting to get a scan of him for a long time. This is my chance." Erza said. She just went on ahead with Lucy thinking this might be a bad idea.

The Drone Battle

Natsu and Zach continued with their drone battle. They started another battle at a location called Cordac Falls. Zach was Gespeden and he speed around the place. He looked around for his opponent, but didn't see a thing.

"Come on out, Ulmar! You can't hide forever!" Gespeden said. He looked around for Ulmar, but he didn't see him anywhere.

"Smoke Surge!" Gespeden turned around and had smoke fly right into his eyes. He couldn't see a thing and he didn't see Ulmari with a viledriver. Ulmar used some flame attacks and blasted Gespeden and knocked him right off the cliff. Gespeden plummet down the falls until he he a rock and it coded him. They were back in the drone with Ulmar becoming Natsu again.

"Ulmar might be small, but he can pack a punch." Natsu said.

"Not bad, but my danians will be tougher to beat. I love my danians just like Lucy is going to love our date." Zach said. Natsu was getting annoyed with this and he wasn't going to let it keep happening.

Mipedim Oasis

"Where is that throne room?" Erza said. "Prince Mudeenu must have one around here somewhere." She was determined to get that scan and wasn't leaving without one.

"Erza, should we really be roaming around. What if those lizards spot us and we can't see them?" Lucy said.

"We'll just find Mudeenu and go." Erza said.

"But where could he be?" Lucy said. She was about to enter another hall, but Erza noticed glowing red eyes on a stone head on the wall.

"Lucy!" Erza grabbed Lucy and pulled her back before it breathed fire and saved Lucy.

"Yikes. Thanks, Lucy. I thought the mipedians were dangerous with just invisibility." Lucy said.

"This wouldn't be here without there being something to guard. Let's go." Erza said as they moved as fast as they could to avoid the statue and hurried down the hall, which led to the throne room.

"What's the status?" Prince Mudeenu said as he was looking over some maps with some trusted subordinates.

"We're still working over things about Broken Edge with the overworlders."

"There's also been news of Slurhk still roaming around our desert. That pesky bug keeps trying to keep us away from our water." As they were talking, Erza and Lucy were able to sneak in.

"There he is." Erza said.

"Great. Scan him and let's go." Lucy said. Erza aimed carefully with her scanner and started scanning him, but it did not go undetected.

"Look! Chaotic players!" One of the guards spotted the girls and this was trouble for them.

"Just a couple more seconds." Erza said.

"Get them!" Mudeenu said as the guards hurried to attack them. The girls acted quickly and ported out before they could do anything.

Chaotic

Erza and Lucy ported out of there at the last second. It was relief to the both of them.

"I hate that kind of scenarios. Did you at least get that scan?" Lucy said. Erza held out her scanner and showed she was able to scan Mudeenu. "Well good for you. I better get going. I got a drone match today."

"Okay. I'll see you when it's done." Erza said and Lucy left. "I wonder where the boys are?" Erza looked around, but didn't see them anywhere.

"Oh man. Natsu!" Erza looked towards one of the monitors and saw a battle going on between a creature called Kapalor battling Barath Beyond. He watched Kapalor unleashed an energy blast, but Barath Beyond rolled out of the way and launched Power Pulse and coded him. Erza was able to see that those two were battling each other.

"They're battling?" Erza questioned as she thought that was strange.

...

The Drone

"Well, we're both down to our last creatures. You may have coded Bierk, Khritlaan, and Kapalor, but you've lost Dardemus, Ulmar, Krekk, and Zaur. All you've got is Barath Beyond." Zach said.

"All you've got is Odu-Bathax. He can't help without a few other danians to back him up." Natsu said.

"Oh, you'll be surprised. Let's finish this." Zach said. They've both selected their final creatures and have entered a place called the Crypt of Eternal Echoes. They went on with the fight and it became an intense one. The battle raged on as Odu-Bathax jumped out of the halls and entered the main chamber.

"Steam Rage!" Barath Beyond blasted Odu-Bathax with the attack and did some damage. Odu-Bathax took aim with a cyclance, but Barath blasted it right out of his hands. "Any last words before you get coded?"

"How about this? Chorus of the Hive!" Odu-Bathax used the signature mugic of the danians and acted the hive as he was gaining energy. He looked rejuvenated. Barath Beyond seemed shocked and that left him opened as he got blasted by Pebble Storm.

"How did you regain energy?" Barath Beyond said.

"The hive gives Odu-Bathax energy for all my mandiblors that I have." Odu-Bathax said.

"But you don't have mandiblors." Barath Beyond said.

"Wrong. You coded Khritlaan, remember? Doing that gives me access to the mandiblors you already coded." Odu-Bathax said. "Kapalor was one and Attacat counts since he had the mandiblor crown. Paral-Eyes!" He shot a beam from his eyes and blasted Barath and left him paralyzed. "Thunder Shout!" Odu-Bathax unleashed a sonic attack that was loud as thunder and coded Barath Beyond. Back in the drone, Natsu lost and Zach was happy that he won.

"Oh yeah. Don't worry. I won't rub it in when my date with Lucy goes well." Zach said and left the building, but Natsu couldn't accept this.

"Zach, wait!" Natsu said as he hurried after him, but when they both got out there, they were surprised to see Erza. "Erza? You're back already?"

"You two want to explain what that was about?" Erza asked. Neither of them seemed willing too, but when Erza gave them a look, they went right to it. "So you two battled each other to see who would date Lucy?"

"How did she do that? One look and we're singing like canaries." Zach said as he can't believe Erza can do that. Erza didn't like this so much that she actually slapped the two of them.

"What was that for?" Natsu said.

"Lucy is not some sort of prize. She's your friend, idiots." Erza said. "Next time, let her decide." Erza was so upset with them that she couldn't even look at them and walked away.

"I guess we should be lucky all she did was slap us." Zach said. When things calmed down, Zach took a moment and thought about how Natsu really feels. "Natsu, be honest with me. How much do you really like Lucy?" Natsu wasn't really comfortable talking about this, but Zach was becoming a good friend.

"A lot." Natsu said.

"Okay. In that case, I'll back off." Zach said with Natsu being surprised by that. "I don't know her as well as you do and it might not really be worth it."

"Wow... Thanks, Zach." Natsu said.

"No problem. What do you say we grab another bite and just forget this whole thing?" Zach offered.

"Sure." Natsu said as they went together. Girls might come between guys, but it's the ones that really value their friendship that are the lucky ones.
