So I am writing this while I'm on CO. I hate being confined and made to watch one person all night. Luckily this one finally went to bed and is not giving me a hard time. Unfortunately that means no action so I'm going to try writing all night during my 16hr shift. Wish me luck trying to hide my phone from the nurses and my Lieutenant😂

Gajeel snarled as he dropped down to a squat in front of Laxus, his large crimson eyes burning in anger at the situation they now found themselves in, but hidden far behind his rage Laxus caught a glimpse of pity.

"By you rejecting your dragons chosen one, by you hurting you mate and making her leave... you've sentence not just her, but yourself, to a lonely death."

And it was like being in an SE Car and having the driver, or Erza, suddenly ramming their foot clean through the breaks, making all thoughts and emotions come to a halt.

Blue, brown and onyx eyes stared back at the black haired slayer in stunned disbelief at his words.

"...Death..." the small sky maiden whispered in horror, her small shaking hands moving up to cover her gapping mouth.

Natsu fell to his knees mere feet from where the lightning mage sat limp on the ground, arms hanging loosely, his tanned skin paling to a sickly looking white in color. His mind running though every talk on Mate's Igneel had ever had with him, wanting nothing more than to deny Gajeel's claims. But Natsu couldn't dent that his knowledge on the subject was not vast and that Igneel hadn't told him much. And Gajeel was older and had spent more time with his Dragon than Natsu himself had, and Natsu knew that although Gajeel could be mean at times, the older man would never lie or joke about something so serious.

"No... that's not... I mean... Igneel did say that rejecting a mate was taboo but... he never said it could lead too..." the pink haired man couldn't even bring himself to utter the dreaded word that was to become his best friends fate if what Gajeel said was indeed true. "It can't be true."

Gajeel frowned as he turned his gaze from Laxus to Natsu, before returning back to the blonde.

"Well believe it." He snapped. "I'm not surprised he never told you why it was taboo, but Matalicana made sure not to sugar coat shit with me even if I didn't quite understand it at the time."
