Chapter 5 – La Vida Cabana

Welcome back, I originally had two versions of this chapter I hope you like the one I ended up choosing.
Warning – Language and violence

She stood in his doorway sobbing, her small hands over her face and her body shaking. He immediately felt panicked "Lucky what's wrong?" He asked stepping forward to pull her hands from her face. She pressed her lips together shook her head before she let out a sob, She looked to either side of her watching the empty halls before she stepped past him and walked into his apartment.

Bucky turned to watch the crying woman. He was confused, his heart was beating faster "They are going to kill me" She sobbed, Bucky closed the door and locked it before walking over to her.

His expression turned serious, he stood in front of her looking down wondering who would want to hurt her, he wasn't going to let it happen. "What, who?" He asked, she didn't say anything she just stood shaking and crying in the middle of his living room. He reached out and toucher her face pulling it up to look at him. She looked so petite and fragile compared to him who was bulky and towering over her. "Lucky, who's trying to hurt you?" He asked with a hint of rage in his eyes, he suddenly felt overwhelmed to protect her.

She began to sob again "Please help me. Bucky please don't let them get me" she begged. Bucky didn't know what to feel, he was filled with anger but at the same time concern, something he hadn't felt in a while. His body and brain where not working together he knew he should be casing the apartment block looking for the threat but instead he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close against his bare chest, ignoring the shooting pain from the wound.

He rested his head on top of her as she clung to him sobbing into his chest. "I won't let anyone touch you, tell me who it is" He whispered into her hair.

Her breathing was hitched and shaky "Bucky I'm so scared, I don't want to" She cried into his chest.
He held her a little tighter showing her she was safe with him, his thoughts where with the threat and what he was going to do with them once they had been found, he didn't know why he felt like he had to protect her but he knew he would. "Lucky I'm here please tell me who. I am not going to let anyone near you but you have to tell me who it is" He told her, she pulled away and looked up at him, he stared down into her eyes, she could tell he was truly ready to help her with what ever she needed him to do.

She clenched her teeth already hating herself, the trust and protectiveness in his eyes is something she had never seen in anyone eye before, especially when looking at her. "I'm sorry" She whispered to him before another single tear fell from her eye... that one was real.

Bucky looked confused. "For what?" He asked letting his arms slowly fall from her. Suddenly she grabbed the gun from his waist band and hit him across the face with it, he tumbled to the side and grabbed the arm of the sofa for support from the unexpected blow. She walked over to him and kicked him in his wounded chest knocking him back onto the floor. He was shocked for a second laying on his back on the hardwood floor.

She wiped the tears from her eyes with her sleeve from the hoodie she was wearing. "I'm really sorry" She whispered again before kicking him again, Bucky gasped in pain and clutched at his chest.

She cocked the gun and aimed it at his leg and his eyes shot open. "Stop" He shouted. He crawled back across the floor and managed to get up onto his feet, he saw a hint of panic in her eyes when he stood. "Who sent you?" He asked in a calm tone. Much calmer than she expected.

She took a couple of steps back and held the stolen gun tight "I can't tell you" She told him through gritted teeth as she tried to hold back more tears, she didn't realise she would find this difficult. "You're my mission, I have to take you alive" She told him glaring at him, she swore she could see betrayal in his eyes, she shook off the guilty feeling.

'Focus on the mission' she told herself.

He held both hands up to her and took a small step forward. Her eyes flickered down to his bare chest and the dressing she had put on hours earlier, she noticed his wound was bleeding again. "Lucky stop" He said breathlessly, her eyes flicked back up to meet his. "you don't want to do this, you're a good person" He told her and he was right and wrong, she didn't want to but she didn't have a choice, he was the mission.

She gritted her teeth and fought back the tears welling in her eyes. "I have no choice" she spat, he took another step closer. "Don't make me do it Bucky" She whispered holding the gun up now aiming it at his chest, her hand steady as a rock, just like she had been trained Bucky noted.

Bucky sighed he didn't want to do this. "Sorry I'm not going anywhere" he told her before lunging and wrestling the gun out of her hand. Once he had hold of it it he crushed it in the palm of his vibranium hand making it useless.

Her eye shot open and she pushed against his body to put distance between them, she ran into the kitchen franticly trying to find something to hit him with. She grabbed a frying pan from the top of the stove and ran to hit him with it, he grabbed it with one hand with the other he lifted her off the floor by her neck. He let go of the pan and it crashed against the floor, He stared into Lucky's eyes as he chocked her, her hands desperately clawing at his grip. Just as the light in her eyes where starting to dim he screamed in anger and threw her against a wall.

The wall cracked when she hit it and she slumped to the floor lifelessly. Bucky stood still his eyes wide and his breathing heavy. A few seconds later guilt washed over him and he didn't know why.

She led on the floor with her eyes closed. "Lucky" He called as he walked over to her slowly, he bend down and rolled her onto her back. "Fuck" he whispered, he ran his metal hand through his hair.

He pressed two fingers to her neck and checked her pulse, she was breathing. He let out a small sight of relief at the fact she wasn't dead. Suddenly her eyes shot open and she flung herself at him wrapping her arm around his neck to get him into a choke-hold on the floor, She wrapped one leg around his body and pressed her heel into his gunshot wound momentarily disabling him to move as he gasped in pain. She pulled him as close to her as she physically could and tried to get him to pass out. Bucky quickly grabbed her arm and used his body to flip her over the top of him, she landed in front of him on her back, she scrambled up to her knees and faced him, her face was bloodied and her hair now wild.

She had an animalistic look him her eye as she knelt opposite him, she wasn't as strong as him so she knew instead she had to be smarter. "Stop now. What ever this is I can help you. I don't want to hurt you any more" He warned her, the look in his eye wasn't as forgiving as before.

She snarled flashing her teeth at him, he didn't think it was possible for her to look this vicious. "You can't help me, you don't even fucking know me" She spat she lent forward and headbutted him on the bridge of his nose, once again not expecting the attack he was knocked. She quickly jumped up and ran towards the door in an attempt to escape, before she could let the lock off Bucky was behind her pinning her arm behind her back against the door.

"Not a chance you are leaving without giving me answers" He growled into her ear. She yelped in pain as he pressed her into the door. "I'll break it, I swear to god I will" He told her putting more pressure on her arm against her back, real tears fell from her eyes and she cried out in pain.

She tried to wiggle out of his hold but her body was no match for his. "I can't they will kill me" She cried. Bucky released her arm and grabbed her by the shoulder throwing her down on the floor. She scrambled to get her back up against at wall, She looked up at the now terrifying man stood above her. He was panting, his shoulders going up and down, tiny lines of blood dripping from the dressing, he was in pain and she knew it. His jaw was hard and his eyes sharp, he looked powerful over her small now fragile body.

"I trusted you" He spat with a hint of betrayal in his voice.

Lucky eyed the plant next to her and put her hand on it to help pull herself up. "That was your mistake" She whispered as she lifted the plant and threw it at him, he put both hands up to shield his face from the dirt.

She made another run for it this time to his window, she swung her leg and smashed the glass effortlessly, she climbed up and was ready to jump back. Bucky quickly ran to her grabbing her from her hair and dragging her back into the apartment, She fell onto her back. Still with a handful of her hair he knelt beside her and pinned one of her arms down with his knee. "I want answers now" He barked. She tried hitting him but she was growing weak and tired, it had zero effect on him as he glared down at her, debating on weather or not he should just end her life now.

She stopped wiggling and lead down on the floor still, she smiled. "Or what you'll kill me?" She asked, a cut of her lip caused a line of blood to trail down her jaw.

Bucky gritted his teeth and let go of her hair. He placed his vibranium hand around her neck, without adding pressure. "Don't" He mumbled.

She swallowed hard feeling the familiar cold metal around her neck. "If I tell you, they will kill me. If I don't tell you, you will kill me" She spluttered a little blood as she spoke.

He felt a pang of sympathy at her words, He frowned thinking to himself what had she gotten herself into. "I don't want to kill you" He told her through his gritted teeth.

Her eyes softened as she looked up into his stern ones. "Then don't" She whispered. Bucky was almost tempted to release her but knew deep down this was another trick. "You can let me go, ill run you'll never see me again. Then you know there is a target on your back and you can get out of here" She begged him, her voice was a little more breathless now, Bucky realised he'd been putting pressure on her neck the whole time.

"I'm done running" He muttered. He grabbed the small woman and lifted her of the floor and threw her down on the sofa, he took a step back. "Tell me" He ordered. She looked so small and beaten, He'd be lying if he said he didn't feel bad, his mother taught him to never hit a woman. The winter soldier didn't care about that rule but old fashioned Bucky did.

Tears began to fall from her soft blue eyes. "Bucky please" She begged.

"Don't even try that" He snapped, he bent down slowly and put his hand under his coffee table slowly pulling out a black hand gun he had hidden for emergency.

She began to breath a little quicker when he clicked the safety off. He stood upright in front of her with the gun in his hand. "I don't want you to be hurt, please" She begged.

He shook his head, tears of his own threatening to fall, he didn't know why it hurt that she had lied to him but it did. "I don't believe a word that comes out of your mouth" He spat.

"Please, I like you, I helped you" She pleaded. He just stared at her his blue eyes piercing hers. "If I wanted you dead I would of killed you already, I had opportunity" She told him truthfully thinking of all the nights she saw him walking back to his apartment, it would have been easy to shoot him in the back of the head.

"Why did you have to be so damn nice to me" Bucky shouted raising the gun up and pointing at her. She was taken back by the comment, he was hurt and she truly felt bad.

"Just fucking do it" She whispered shaking her head in defeat. Bucky clenched his jaw and aimed the gun at her head, she sat and closed her eye waiting for it all to end, she had failed this was no more than what she deserved.

Suddenly there was a bang at the door, Bucky turned his head for a split second and she saw her opportunity, She jumped up and kicked him in his groin and he dropped the gun. She didn't bother trying to grab it, she ran to the window and climbed up onto the window ledge. "Sorry Bucky" she whispered before jumping.

Bucky was still rolling on the floor not expecting the attack, winter soldier or not... that hurt "Lucky" He shouted at the top of his lungs as he watched her jump. Seconds later Sam came bursting through the door with a gun of his own.

Sam panicked when he saw his friend on the ground "Buck, man you okay" Sam asked running over and grabbing his friend by the shoulder, he knelt beside him and checked him for wounds, he was scraped up and his gun shot was bleeding but nothing he couldn't handle. "Hydra?" He asked, Bucky punched the floor with his vibranium limb causing the wood to crack.

"No... Lucky" He mumbled pushing the sweaty hair out of his face. He jumped up pushing Sam on him and marched over to the window, He looked down and saw no sign of her body. He frowned, a jump like that surely would of killed her he thought to himself.

He turned back and Sam was stood his wide eyes and his mouth hanging open "Your Lucky did this?" He asked eyeing Bucky up and down and then looking around his now trashed apartment.

Bucky was livid, if Sam wouldn't of distracted him she wouldn't of gotten away and he wouldn't be hurting in the place no man wants to hurt. "Why are you here Sam?" He snapped.

"The apartment manager called me, someone reported a domestic coming from here, instead of calling the police he woke me to check you out" Sam told him.

That made sense the manager of the hotel knew who they where and knew the type of trouble they could bring keeping the police away made sense. Bucky stormed into his room grabbing a backpack from on top of his closet, Sam followed him confused. "What the hell are you doing?" Sam asked.

"Going after her" Bucky muttered as he shoved clothes into the bag, he walked over to his bed side locker and grabbed out a knife and a second gun, both his threw on the bed. He walked into the backroom and slammed the door shut behind him. He washed up and pulled on a fresh pair of black pants. He pulled a white T-shirt that was hung in there and pulled it over his head. When he opened the door Sam was stood on the other side.

"No way" He told him as he stood with his arms crossed.

"Don't get involved" Bucky hissed pushing past him, He grabbed his leather jacket and pulled it on and zipped it all the way to the top. He grabbed the knife and gun from the bed and tucked them into his waistband and pulled the jacked back over to cover them. Sam stood shaking his head.

"You have lost it you have officially fucking lost it man" Sam snapped, Bucky didn't acknowledge him he just carried on gathering things he would need. Sam was confused, he had seem Bucky angry before but never like this "Tell me what happened I can help you out man" He told him.

"You need to stay here and work our mission" Bucky said bluntly.

"And what about this?" Sam asked gesturing his hands at Bucky.

Bucky rolled his eyes. "It's my mission" he muttered.

Sam's mouth dropped open a little bit. "Oh so its like that now?" He asked clearly pissed off at the remark. Bucky headed to the front door of his apartment Sam following him closely. "Bucky" He called.

"Sam I will explain when I can, I have to go" he told him hoping he would drop it.

"I'll come with you" Sam told him again.

"Stay" he ordered. "I'll call if I need backup" He told Sam offering him a small smile, Sam didn't smile back he walked off down the hall turning his back on Bucky. Bucky swallowed hard knowing he had annoyed Sam but he didn't have time to figure that out now.

He walked straight to Lucky's apartment and kicked the door off it's hinges. He stormed in and began tearing the place apart looking for clues as to where she might be. When he entered her bedroom he noticed a book on her bedside table, he walked over and picked it up noticing something sticking out of it. He pulled the piece of colourful paper out of the book and unfolded it.

'La Vida cabana'
Mexico
find your inner peace

He noticed she had doodled love hearts around the brochure. He frowned for a second, would she really be travelling to Mexico right now he wondered. Unfortunately for him he didn't have any other leads, He shoved the brochure in his back pocked and stormed out the room.

Time to head to the airport.

Unfortunately for Bucky he had got to the airport to late, a flight for Mexico had already boarded and left. He cursed Sam for holding him up leaving. He managed to get on the next flight the following morning, he began to panic that she would of gotten away by now, moved on an he's missed his opportunity.

When he arrived the first thing he did was rent himself a motorcycle, dressed in full black leather to cover his arm he began his 2 hour journey to the hotel that was on the brochure praying it was the right lead.

It was a small place he observed as he pulled up outside. It was a wooden structure with a thatched roof, he had never seen anything like it. He climbed off his bike and pulled his helmet off placing it on the handle bars. He adjusted the knife and gun in his waistband . He'd been able to sneak through the airport, perks of a metal arm they didn't question when the alarm when off in security.

"Bit hot for a jacket isn't it mate" an unfamiliar voice called out. Bucky snapped his head up and saw a man dressed in blue board shorts and a white T-shirt, he was an older man with grey hair. He stood smiling at Bucky.

"It's for protection" He mumbled in response to the man nodding down at his bike.

The man nodded and stepped forward eyeing the bike "Nice wheels" He complimented.

Bucky stood awkwardly as he decided if the man was a threat or not. "Thanks" he mumbled.

"Gary" The man introduced offering Bucky his hand to shake.

"Bucky" He responded finally deciding the man wasn't a threat, just chatty.

"So you staying ere then?" The man asked.

Bucky forced a smiled. "Yes" he lied.

"Nice place, really quiet me and the missus love it ere" The man went on. "You on your own then?" He asked.

Bucky was quick to reply "No I am actually meeting a friend staying here" He told the man. "Don't suppose you have seen her around? She's 26 she is short, brown shoulder length hair with blue eyes" Bucky asked hopefully.

The man nodded. "Yeah that actually sounds like Frida, met her at breakfast, she seems really nice. Lucky guy" He joked smacking Bucky on the arm.

Bucky forced a laugh and nodded. "Yes Frida" He said to himself. "I want to surprise her do you know what rooms she is in?" Bucky asked with a fake smile plastered on his face.

The man shrugged. "Sorry mate, ask at the desk I'm sure they will help" the man offered.

Bucky smiled at the man genuinely this time. "Thanks Gary" He said.

Gary smiled back at him. "Anytime mate" He said before walking back into the hotel.

Bucky looked up at the hotel again and took a deep breath, he had created his cover story, now he just needed to convince the man behind the desk to give him the information, hopefully without using violence.

Finally he entered the hotel and approached the front desk, a tall slender man stood on the other side of the counter smiling at him. "Hola Senor, welcome to La Vida cabana are you checking in?" He asked in a happy tone.

Bucky smiled at the man. "Actually I am here at ask a favour, my girlfriend is staying here and I really wanted to surprise her could you tell me what room she is staying in?" Bucky asked with a hopeful smile on his face. The man behind the counter pulled a little face at the request.

"I'm sorry sir I can not give out that information" He told him sounding genuinely sorry.

Bucky tried his best to look disappointed. "Oh come on" He complained. "I am planning on proposing tonight, can you help a guy out?" He begged.

The man bit his lips for a second before walking over to his laptop. "What's her name?" He asked quietly as he looked around to make sure no other staff was around to witness.

"Frida" He told him confidently.

"And yours? Just for the records" The man asked.

"James" He decided to use his lesser used name just in case.

"Okay one moment" the man mumbled as he typed into the computer. As the man typed Bucky kept an eye on the lobby in case she saw him and decided to run again. "Room 15" he finally said after what felt like a life time to Bucky.

Bucky smiled and pressed his glove covered hands together almost like he was praying. "Thank you so much, she is going to be so excited" He faked excitement.

The man behind the desk grinned. "It's a pleasure, please enjoy your time here and if you end up staying the night?" The man trailed off.

Bucky smiled. "Charge it to Frida, I pay all the bills anyway" he joked.

The man laughed and nodded. "Yes sir, that I do understand" He told him with a wink. Bucky thanked the man and walked off into the direction of the rooms. His smile fell as did the fake excitement, he now donned a serious expression as he hunted for the room she was staying it.

He approached the room slowly and peaked through the sheer netted curtain in the window, he saw no signs of movement. He knocks twice on the door lightly... no answer. He grabbed hold of the door handle and twisted it until he heard the lock click from too much pressure, he pushed the door open and walked in closing it behind himself.

He stood still in the small cabana and listened for sounds of movement in the bathroom.. It was totally silent. He took the opportunity to look around being careful not to make too much noise. She had barely any belongings, just a couple of dresses she had obviously picked up here and one book on the bed side table. Bucky pulled a face as he eyed the book 'The lucky ones' He rolled his eyes, the irony he thought to himself.

Just as he reached out to grab the book to read the back of it he heard footsteps, he quickly disappeared out of sight.

Lucky opened her door not noticing how loose the handle had become, she was dressed in a black bikini with a towel slung over her shoulder, her skin was sun kissed and her hair all bunched up and wavy from the sea water. She closed the door behind her and threw the damp towel over the chair that stood next to the bed, suddenly she felt a cold sharp object pinned to her throat.

"Don't scream" a dark voice threatened. She knew who it was immediately, Bucky stood behind her holding a knife to her throat.

Her eyes immediately began to fill with water, she knew being as powerless as she was she could not fight him off, she had only just recovered from their last fight. "How did you find me?" she asked, her voice was barely a whisper.

Bucky let the knife drop from her neck and took a step back. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a brochure on the hotel she was currently staying in and threw it on the bed next to her. "You're not very good at hiding your tracks" He mocked. She froze still stood in the same position as she was when he held the knife to her. He began to circle her like a shark eyeing its prey.

She gulped and stared at the floor blinking the tears away. "Why are you here?" She asked trying to sound confident, he saw right through it, he could sense her fear.

He smirked. "I am here to get answers" He said stopping in front of her. He lifted his knife and placed it under her chin lifting it to force her to look at him. "Why did you attack me and who is coming for me?" He asked, His blue eye seemed darker than usual, she knew that he would kill her, he was after all the winter soldier, she'd heard all the story's. He glared at her and started to become annoyed at her silence. "is it Hydra?" He pressed. She just stared back at him with glassy soft eyes as she tried to stop herself from crying. He clenched his jaw and pressed the knife a little tighter to her jaw. "I have just travelled all this way to not test my patients" He threatened in a low tone.

She let out a shaky breath and opened her mouth to talk. "I'll talk just please, let me put something on" She said quietly. Bucky hesitated for a second. He knew there was only one exit and she couldn't escape him so he dropped his knife from her again and nodded.

She quickly grabbed one of the dressed from the bed and hurried into the bathroom shutting the door behind her. Bucky slowly walked to the bed as he twirled the knife through his cold metal fingers. "So you enjoying your vacation?" He asked with a smirk on his face. He sat down on the bed and faced the bathroom door waiting for her to come out. "I'll give it to you... Frida, very clever. Did you think of that on the spot when checking in?" He asked "Couldn't help notice the Frida Khalo picture hanging in the lobby" He said smiling to himself.

She was a quick thinker he would give her that. Suddenly the bathroom door unlocked and she came walking out slowly. Her hair was now pulled into a tiny pony tail and she wore a flowing white dress that ended mid-thigh, Bucky stood up and looked her up and down. She looked pretty, Petit and feminine, but he knew at any second she could viciously attack.

"Sit" He pointed the knife towards the bed. She did as she was told silently her eyes staring at his weapon. She perched on the bed awkwardly he knelt down in front of her so he was at her eye level. She shifted uncomfortably at how close to her he was. "Nice room, managed to drag any victims back her yet?" He asked smirking. Without warning her hand flew at him slapping him across his face.

"Fuck you" She hissed.

He laughed and brought his hand up to his face, even with her power fading she packed a punch. "You probably would have for information" He said narrowing his eyes at her, she raised her hand to hit him again but this time he caught it easily. "I wouldn't doll, like I said thin patients" He whispered. Once he felt he stop struggling against her hand he let go and she pulled her hand away from him. "Why are you hiding?" He asked with a more serious expression on his face now.

She frowned at him still mad about the comment he just made to her. "Why do you think?" She snapped "I failed my mission, no only did I fail I ran" She added in a stressed tone.

"From them?" He asked.

She nodded. "From you and them" She corrected. He cocked his head slightly and she sighed knowing she had to give him more information "They would of expected me to fight until the death, I know your stronger so do they" She continued.

"So you are expendable" He stated standing up straight. He began to pace the room with the knife still in his hand. Lucky watched as he effortlessly twirled it around his skilled fingers.

"Seems that way" She mumbled still watching his hand.

"Sorry I don't have much sympathy for you" He told her in a harsh tone. "I still need answers, who are they?" He asked again.

She looked down knowing her fate was already sealed, if he didn't kill her they would. She closed her eyes and pushed a couple of stray hairs from her face. "Hydra" She admitted. Bucky froze and turned to her with wide eyes, he had suspected it but hearing her say the word send a chill down his spine. It pretty much confirmed his biggest fear, they where watching him. "My primary mission was to get a sample of your blood" She interrupted his thought with more information.

He shoved the knife back into his pocked and crossed his arms over his body, he suddenly felt very cold. "Why?" He asked trying to hide the fear in his voice.

She looked up at him and could see the change in his body language, she knew what Hydra was to him of course everyone that worked there did. She wasn't a heartless person, she wouldn't of been human if she didn't feel a slight twinge in her stomach when she looked at him. "To create an army. The serum inside you... they need to extract it and create more" she told him.

"They have the serum they don't need me" He snapped back quickly.

She shook her head, she couldn't remember all the information only what she had been told for the mission. "They lost it, couldn't make more they didn't know how, something like that" She mumbled trying to remember more.

Bucky scoffed and shook his head "You survived a 17 floor drop I doubt they have lost it. You're obviously injected with the same thing I am" He snapped at her.

"I was injected earlier on with a new prototype, it's not working" He voice grew a little sadder at the end of her sentence.

"What do you mean it's not working?" He asked.

She sighed and stood up facing him, her confidence had grown slightly when she saw how he reacted to the news of Hydra. "I didn't fall 17 floors... that would of killed me, I fell two and grabbed a rail and left through an empty apartment. Dislocated my shoulder doing that, I'm slowly loosing all power I had, returning to human" She told him honestly. His eyes darted to her shoulder and he did notice some swelling around it.

His eyed flicked back up meeting hers "You say that like it is a bad thing" he whispered. He thought of all the times he had laid in bed at night wishing to be a normal human again, wishing that the fighting would stop and he would no longer have to live this kind of life.

She smiled bitterly "When Hydra wants you dead it is" she said darkly.

"How did they know where I live?" He asked.

She shook her head "They didn't" she said simply. "I was sent into the field to find you, hacked the avengers computers and found an address and moved in about three weeks after you" She informed him. He frowned, she had been his neighbour for weeks before they actually had contact.

"What took you so long to make a move?" his tone sounding confused.

She shifted slightly where she sat "I had to be sure it was you" She lied.

"You hacked the computers you knew it was me" He snapped causing her to jump. He stepped forward and took a more threatening stance. "Tell the truth Lucky" He spoke through gritted teeth. He hadn't come all this way to be lied to again.

She shrugged. "I don't know" she babbled. There was a small pause, Bucky's expression was confused again. "I liked it there. I liked having a name and a job and people smiled at me" she wore a sad smile as she spoke quietly. She looked up and met his gaze. "The night you attacked me, you where right I was following you. First and last time I did that" She told him honestly.

"Why follow me, if you needed my blood what reason was there for you to follow?" he asked.

She bit the inside of her cheek, something she did when she was nervous Bucky noticed. "To see if your power had faded at all" She told him honestly.

"It hasn't" he said bluntly.

"Lucky you" she muttered rolling her eyes.

Bucky's mind was swimming with questions and unfortunately she was the only one who could answer them, even if he didn't trust her at all. "What's your bosses name?" He asked pressing for more information.

She sighed and stood up from the bed, she walked over to the window of her room and pulled back the sheer curtain and looked outside at the beautiful sunshine that reflected off the pool. "Tom Decker, he kind of runs things around Hydra now " She mumbled purposely not making eye contact with Bucky.

She felt him walking closer to her but she didn't turn around. "This doesn't make sense... why send you?" he asked "If your power was draining day by day then why send you against me, I would of easily killed you" He told her.

She smiled "He said I was his best girl, that if anyone could do it I could" she remembered how he used to stroke her hair and tell her how amazing she was, her heart fluttered slightly at the thought. "He said he would take care of me, make sure I didn't have to do the dirty work any more if I brought you in" She added.

"You'd be free from Hydra" Bucky stated.

"No, but with him, he calls me his pet. He said that I am his favourite" She corrected him.

"He was manipulating you" He said bluntly. The light feeling in her heart suddenly dropped to the pit of her stomach, she suddenly felt heavy.

She spun around and glared at him "You don't know him" She spat.

Bucky smiled and shook his head at the woman standing in front of him, he had hit a nerve "I know men like him" He told her. The type of men who would say and do anything but only so they could keep you in their control. "You think if he cared for a second he would of sent you in the first place knowing who I am and how easily I could of killed you if I wanted too?" He asked stepping closer to her.

She gritted her teeth. "You know nothing" She spat.

He smiled again. "I know more that you think doll" He whispered.

She saw red. How dare he insinuate that Decker didn't love her, he didn't know anything. Sure he was mad at her for failing her mission but she knew he would forgive her, he loved her. She was spooked so she ran, he would understand. "Get out, you have your answers now go" She shouted. Bucky nodded and smiled at her one more time before turning and walking to the door. "And be warned they don't just want your blood, they don't want you dead either. They want the winter solider to lead their army" She told him in a harsh tone.

Bucky's hand froze on the handle of the door. "Not happening" He muttered before pulling the door open.

"Time will tell Soldat, but you know Hydra, they won't give up without a fight" She spat. Bucky gritted his teeth and stormed out of the room leaving the small complex. He was angry but he couldn't figure out why, he had his answers he should be happy. He knew he had let Lucky under his skin again. He stormed out the front and over to his motorcycle.

He picked up his helmet from the bike, before putting it on he noticed a black SUV in the distance heading his way. The car didn't fit in with the other small cars in the area, this was a beach village and the car had completely blacked out windows and private plates. He frowned as he noticed a couple of motorcycles in the area also sticking out to him, he grew suspicious.

He watched as one of the cars pulled up outside the hotel. Two men jumped out of it. He watched as the two men in suits enter and speak to the man behind the desk. Bucky could see the outline of a gun in the back waistband of one of the mans pants, hidden to most but not to Bucky's trained eye. His eyes widened at the realisation, Hydra.

Before he knew what he was doing he dropped his helmet and walked back into the hotel. He was in stealth mode and managed to walk past them without them seeing him. Once out of sight of the lobby he ran back to Lucky's room bursting through the door.

She jumped out of her skin and her hand flew up to her chest. "What are yo-" she began.

"We have to go" He cut her off reaching out and grabbing her by her wrist dragging her out of her room.

She pulled against his grip and smacked his hand. "Get off me" She spat as she tried wriggling free.
He stopped and ragged her arm forcing her to look at him. "They are coming for you" He told her.

Her eyes widened. "What?" she whispered. Bucky spun around and began pulling her again, the men where still in the lobby when he walked back through with her. He used his body to hide her as he walked her out of the hotel quickly.

He dragged her across the road to his bike and handed her his helmet. "Put this on" he ordered.

She stood with the helmet in her hands and shook her head looking at the bike. "I'm not getting on that" She argued.

He got on the bike himself and looked at her. "Get on the bike now" He ordered through his gritted teeth.

She shook her head again. "I don't want your help" She argued.

He groaned in frustration and jumped off the bike storming over to her. "A group of men from Hydra are on there way here to kill you does that not scare you?" He asked in a dark voice. She didn't answer she just looked to the ground. It did scare her, it scared her a lot. She knew they would come for her, she knew they where mad but she didn't think Decker would of sent men to kill her. Truth be told she was heartbroken she just didn't want to show it.

Bucky walked back over to his bike jumping on it. "If you want to live get on the bike" He told her again. She sighed and shoved the helmet over her head and climbed onto the back of the bike. "Hold on" He said before revving the bike and taking off at a high speed. She jumped as he accelerated and quickly wrapped her arms around his muscular body and held him tight so she didn't fall.

The two men in suits stood in Lucky's hotel room. They noticed the door handle was broken and a couple of female items on the bed confirming she had been here. It looked like they had left in a hurry. One man lifted the phone to his ear. "He was here. So was she" He said darkly.

"Are they together?"

"It looks like it. Her room is empty, looks like they left in a hurry"

"Track them. I want him bringing in alive we need him... She on the other hand"

"Sir?"

"Kill on site. She knows to much, if she remembers and tells him anything it could ruin everything"

"Yes sir" The unknown man ended the call and turned to his partner. "Kill the girl bring in the soldier" He confirmed, the other man nodded and the both headed out of the room to start their mission.

Let me know what you think. I like the idea of Bucky and Lucky on the run and her hating him, I also love the idea of cocky and assertive Bucky.
