APOV

"Jasper! Hi there!" I smiled. We were all here in detention, the usual. Jasper begrudgingly entered through the door, his backpack hanging from a single strap from his shoulder.

"Hey." He muttered, his eyes downcast. Aw, he was sad. But, it was inevitable. Jasper was the original troublemaker. He's not a clown like Emmett or a douche like Edward, but he's mysterious and stoic.

I'm probably right when I say that he only gets put into detention because he gets himself in so many fights. Even a snide remark from a random guy will put him into a bad mood.

He lazily sat his bag down underneath his chair and slumped over in the uncomfortable wooden chair. In the front row, alongside him was Edward and Emmett. Edward was the crowned "King" of the school. He got all the girls and threw all the huge parties since his parents are mega rich.

Emmett, on the other hand, is a musclehead clown. He's the captain of the wrestling team and a linebacker for our infamous football team. He plays dirty and aggressive in the field but acts like a goofball in class.

He dates Rose, the queen bee around here. She was sitting directly to my left, staring at her perfect nails. Rose is the blonde bombshell model that gets all the guy's praise while also being the bitchiest chick out here. We're great friends, but even I can acknowledge her overbearing ego.

Next, there's Bella. She sits in the corner behind me and mostly keeps to herself. I'm not sure why she's in here but I have a feeling it's from her greedy little hands. She's a thief, she stole Rose's purse last year in P.E. and earned herself a permanent glare from the blonde. Her weird friendship with Edward also makes me suspicious.

Then, there's James. He's a fuckboy that I dated a few months ago. And let me tell you, he's a psychopath that belongs in a jail cell, not a shitty broken down classroom. He's violent and crazy in the worst ways imaginable.

There's some other kiddos that randomly get shoved in here from our stupid principal. I'm always here, even though I know I don't belong here. I do have a reputation but it's not like I deserve to rot here for hours after class.

I'm the cheer captain. I'm president of the school council. I have straight A's. I'm continually praised by the teachers. Why am I here? I like to play, that's all.

"Another fight?" I asked, leaning over my desk to talk with him. Jasper was a sweetie, though. He likes to fight but he's got a soft side that he doesn't show to a lot of people. Unlike a lot of people here, I knew Jasper since junior high. We were best friends until we grew apart.

"He deserved it." He grumbled.

"I bet he did. What happened?" I placed my hand on my cheek and stared at him curiously. He swiveled his body on the chair to face me.

He went on about how he was minding his business when a kid starts spewing trash about Jasper. A lot of people disliked Jazz. To be quite honest, Jasper was very attractive and I wouldn't mind if we dated again.

"Oh, that's terrible. Did you get hurt?" I scooted forward a little more and placed a finger on his chest, sneaking it up his hoodie string until it met his jaw.

He looked up at me and I responded with a flirtatious wink.

"Adding another body to your count?" An annoying voice blared out of nowhere. Fucking James. What a prick.

I didn't even want to give him the time of day so I ignored it and kept my arms around Jasper's neck.

"I know you heard me, slut." This fucking asshole.

"I don't hear words coming out of irrelevant dickheads." I smiled at him.

"You've already fucked the entire football team, moving onto the cokeheads now?" James cackled.

I felt Jasper tense under my touch. I turned back to him and noticed his fist was clenched. I was used to all the slutshaming, it didn't bother me anymore. Girls will be jealous that I'm more desirable than them. Guys will be angry that they weren't the one for me. Now, Jasper...he was a good contender.

"It's okay, Jazz." I whispered.

We dated in middle school, he was my first boyfriend. It went on for a few years but broke it off as soon as highschool started. We never really had sex, just kisses and stuff like that. We opted to stay friends but I started to catch feelings again.

Jazz knows I'm naturally flirty. I flirt with a lot of guys, I like the attention. This little embrace we have means nothing to him probably. Little does he know, I want him. Bad.

"Okay." He responded. Suddenly, the door swung open and our dumbass supervisor walked in. He started to write up his name on the chalkboard. These guys came and went. All they did was sit behind their desks and sleep as the detention kids threw spitballs at him.

He did roll call and hid behind his silver desk for the rest of the hour. Rose and Emmett were kissing up on each other. Edward was oddly in the corner with Bella. And...James was harassing Jasper and I.

"Can you please leave us alone?" I said.

"No, I'm having a lot of fun." He grunted.

"Are you just upset that I dumped your ass or what?" I bit out.

"I'm just here to warn Jasper about your crabs." He laughed.

"Fuck off." I growled, yanking Jasper towards Rose and Emmett. James won't talk shit when he's outnumbered like that. My hand slipped away from Jasper's sleeve and I turned to see him confronting James. He said something but I couldn't catch it.

Jasper shoved James into the filing cabinets behind. The loud clang boomed out and our sleeping teacher awoke for the first time in half an hour.

"Hey! No fighting! Mr. Hale!"

James had a shit eating smirk on his face as he raised his hands over his head in surrender. Everyone in this room knew that Jasper would kick his ass. Even Emmett was scared of him.

Jasper grabbed his backpack and made his way over to me. James glanced at me and winked. Absolute bitch. He made his way to his squadron of bitches.

"Good shit Jazz, put him in his place." Emmett chortled. He clapped his hand on Jasper's back as he threw another dorito in his mouth.

"Now, where were we?" I flirted, biting the bottom of my lip coyly and fluttering my thick eyelashes. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

"You're funny." Jasper turned his face to the side and giggled alongside Emmett.

"Okay, but you know what will be really funny? If you come to the party I'm throwing this weekend." I winked.

"You serious?" Jasper raised an eyebrow.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"When's the last time YOU invited me to your party?"

"Uhh I don't know? Look, you seem bored as of late. We'll have a fun time."

"I'm not interested."

He denied me? What? That's not right. I always get my way. Always.

"Why not?"

"I don't drink like you guys."

"You don't have to drink, it's just a party. We can dance and stuff." I tried to persuade.

"If it's a party and Edward's there. Everyone will drink and I know they'll try to get me to as well." Jasper yawned.

"Then don't!"

"Besides, I have a date to get to."

"A date? You?" I flashed a dangerous look. Jasper and dating didn't correlate. Unless it was with me. Never in all of highschool, did I once hear a dating rumor that involved Jasper.

"Oh is it that latina from the soccer team?" Emmett chimed in. Rose was fast asleep in his arms.

"Yeah, Maria. She wanted to hang out. I guess it's not really a date." Jasper looked smug as hell. Did he realize that he was really making me jealous?

"Maria? Is she a senior?" I interrogated. A girl asking out Jasper, and him accepting. That was ludicrous!

"Yeah. Apparently she's from Texas too." Jasper smiled bashfully. This was not right!

"Bring her to the party. I don't care." I said, crossing my arms bitterly.

"I'll ask her." Jasper finalized. After a few more minutes, the teacher stood up and waved everyone off. He did the same speech the last thirty teachers said. 'Be better.'

Jasper and I walked a bit together until we hit a crossroads where he needed to go left and I needed to go right.

"I want to see you at that party, Jazz." I tugged on his hoodie strings so they'd even up.

"No promises." He smiled.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." I got on my tippy toes and wrapped my tiny arms around his waist. He was so warm. I'd be damned if this Maria chick managed to steal him away from me. Jasper wasn't an ordinary catch for me. We had history and that made it all the more harder to get him to sleep with me.

Any other guy and I'd have them by now.

I want Jasper Hale.

Now.
