Down in the Storm Tunnel, the winds were blowing hard as the danian known as Bierk was trying to resist the winds that blew through the place. It was blowing hard against him, but he was doing his best to hold out against it. Of course, he had bigger problems to worry about and he saw it. He spotted Xaerv with a torwegg.

"Funnel Blast!" Xaerv unleash a spiral blast of wind. It smashed against Bierk and the wind of the tunnel blew around. "Give it up, Chaotic Man. You can't beat me here. Xaerv lives here, where air attacks are stronger and your water attacks are weaker. The torwegg gives me extra power and Xaerv's air attacks are always stronger than usual. You can't win!"

"We'll see about that." Bierk said.

"Don't need to. I already saw it." Xaerv said. "Fortuitous Wind!" Xaerv unleash a blast of wind, but Bierk jumped out of the way of the attack.

"Hail Storm!" Bierk unleashed a blast of ice at him. Xaerv crossed his arms and blocked the attack.

"Clever using a mix of water and air, but that won't help you." Xaerv said. He unleashed another blast of wind and Bierk got hit by it as he was blown back and smashed against a rock. "This battle is over."

"Not yet." Bierk said as he pulled out a flux bauble. He used the power of the bauble and the location changed to Iron Pillar. Xaerv knew this meant trouble for him as his Torwegg stopped working and he began to fall. Bierk looked down as Xaerv continued to fall until he hit the bottom and was coded. Zach finished up a battle and he was declared the winner.

The Portcourt

"Nice battle out there." Natsu said.

"Yeah. I thought it was all over for you in the end, but I was surprised when you changed the location to Iron Pillar." Lucy said.

"Yeah. I'm just that good." Zach said as he leaned back in his seat. Zach just loved being here. However, it's not going to last long as he spotted someone coming his way. "No. No! What's he doing here?!"

"Who?" Erza said as they all looked and spotted the guy. He looked a lot older than them, but he looked a bit similar to Zach in looks.

"Zach! I've finally found you!"

"What are you doing here?!" Zach said as he practically shot up from his chair. "How are you here?! Why are you here?!"

"Zach, what's wrong? Do you know who this guy is?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah. Guys, this is...my older brother. This is Nick." Zach said. All of them were shocked to hear him say that. This was actually the first time they heard that he even had a brother.

"Brother?! You never told us you have a brother!" Natsu said.

"Not much to say really. Nick's older, smarter, and more athletic than I am. Plus, we don't get along that much" Zach said. "What are you even doing here? You don't even play the game. You always mock the things that I like."

"It was Mom's idea." Nick said. "She thought that if I tried some of the things you like, I might have more respect for it and you. So I tried this Chaotic and I love it! This place is cool! I can't believe you can become the creatures. I can see why you love it."

"When did you even get your transport code?" Zach said.

"About a week ago. I already won my first battle and went to Perim. I've also been looking for you all this time. I can't believe you never said anything about this before." Nick said.

"Because you would have just given me a hard time, like always." Zach said. "Now that you're here, you can go." Zach just walked right past his brother and he didn't seem to like the fact that he was here.

"Zach, wait up." Lucy said as she and the others followed after him. "Zach, is everything okay? Aren't you happy that your brother is here?"

"Yeah. What's the problem?" Natsu said.

"Is there something going on between the two of you?" Erza asked.

"You guys don't get it." Zach said. "My brother is pretty well known back at my school. People expect me to be like him and I hate it. I'm stuck in his shadow. Chaotic was the one place I didn't have to worry about that. Now that appears to be ruined."

"Zach, your bother is new. I'm sure it can't be that bad." Lucy said.

"Yeah. You've got way more experience here. You could probably take him in the dromes." Natsu said.

"Natsu, that isn't going to solve anything." Erza said.

"Just leave it alone. I'll deal with my brother at home and keep clear of him." Zach said as he just walked off. He didn't seem to like that his brother was here and a couple people saw that as an opportunity.

"Did you hear that Krystal?" Clyde said. "It sounds like Zach isn't too happy that his brother is here?"

"Poking a little fun, are we?" Krystal said. "Are going to get something good out of this or are we just doing it for laughs?"

"It's a chance for Zach to feel embarrassed and bad about himself." Clyde said. That would be amusing for the two of them.

Zach

Zach may not be happy that his brother is here, but he's trying to make the most of it.

"Okay. Faash has found a couple good scans for me. Let's see what's he got and I can stop thinking about my brother." Zach said to himself as he tried to forget his problems. Zach looked ahead and spotted his brother getting all chummy with some other players.

"What's wrong, Zach?" Krystal said as she and Clyde came over.

"Other than the fact that you two are talking to me?" Zach said.

"We heard your brother is in Chaotic now." Clyde said. "You must be so happy to have him here. Now you actually have a reason to be liked here."

"Yeah. I heard your brother is a lot cooler, smarter, and a whole lot better than you." Krystal said.

"You two don't know what you're talking about." Zach said.

"Sure looks like we do." Clyde said as he pointed to his brother. "Your brother has obviously made a strong impression here. People already like him more than you. Maybe he's the better battler than you." Those two just hit right nerve with Zach as he stormed right over.

"You sure this will humiliate him?" Krystal said.

"Yeah. He'll either look like a bad brother or a bad player." Clyde said. Zach marched right over to his brother with the resolve to stay out of his brother's shadow.

"Hey, Zach." Nick said.

"Since you're here in Chaotic, there's nothing I can do about that. So I'm challenging you to a battle." Zach said with Nick being surprised. "A full battle. Let's see what you got."

The Tirasis Drome

Nick took Zach's challenge and the two of them headed for the Tirasis Drome. Zach issued a full battle and he's going all-out.

'I've been in my brother's shadow my whole life, but I won't let him beat me here. What better way to take it to him than beating him at MY game.' Zach thought. 'I'll show that by going all-out danian.' Zach set his team up with it being all danians.

"I'm actually glad we're doing this. You ready?" Nick said.

"To win." Zach said.

"As if. You might have been at this longer, but I've gotten the hang of this." Nick said.

The Portcourt

"Guys, check it out!" Lucy said as she and the others noticed that Zach was about to battle his brother.

"Zach and Nick in a drome battle? I thought he was just going to ignore his brother. Why did he change his mind?" Erza said.

"Care to join us for the show?" The three of them looked and saw Clyde and Krystal and it seemed like they were going to enjoy themselves.

"What did you two do now?" Lucy said.

"Nothing. We just thought that it was time that Zach took on his big brother." Krystal said. "Seeing him get clobbered or act like a big jerk is sure to make this a good show."

"Looks like they set Zach up to try and humiliate him." Erza said as the three of them couldn't believe those two would have brothers go against each other.

"Players, lock your decks." They all turned to the screen and saw that it was going to be danians against a mixed team.

"Zach's using all danians? Not his usual style." Natsu said.

"At the same time, Nick has a mixture of creatures. Zach usually does the same and it works for him." Lucy said.

"Maybe they're more alike than Zach thinks." Erza said.

...

The Battle

"You're going with all bugs?" Nick questioned. "You always did bug me. So how about I let you have the first attack?"

"You're going to regret that." Zach said as he gave his locations a spin.

"The first location...Queen's Gate. Choose the attacking and target creatures please."

"Formicidor attacks Lhad!" Zach said. Both of them selected their danians and this battle between brothers was on. The area changed around to a giant gate. Lhad walked around and was looking for Formicidor. Formicidor hid himself up in the statues of danians that surrounded the place. 'This brings back memories. Formicidor and the Queen's Gate was where I had my first battle. Well, the tables have turned." Formicidor jumped down and got behind Lhad.

"Rock Wave!" Formicidor smashed the ground and caused rocks to rise out of the ground as they smashed into Lhad. "You can't beat me with a danian."

"Oh yeah?" Lhad said as he pulled out a cyclance and fired it, but Formicidor jumped out of the way.

"Earth Pulse!" Formicidor launched the attack and blasted Lhad as he smashed into the walls. That gave him an idea. Formicidor aimed above Lhad and launched another attack that caused rocks to fall on Lhad and it coded him.

"See that? That's how you battle around here." Zach said. He was already feeling good, but he heard his scanner go off. He looked down and spotted his friends.

"Zach, you don't need to do this." Lucy said.

"Clyde and Krystal set you up to try and make you look bad." Erza said.

"Guys, I know what I'm doing." Zach said as he ended the call. "Your attack." Nick gave his locations a spin.

"The next location...Glacier Plains."

"Dractyl attacks Dubin!" When they became their creatures, they were in the coldest part of Perim. Dubin walked around and was trying to find Dractyl first.

"Shriek Shock!" Dubin got hit in the back as Dractyl came down at him from above.

The Portcourt

"I really do hope Zach knows what he's doing." Lucy said. They watch the battle go on. Then, they noticed Dubin used one of his mugicians and something hit Dractyl.

"What was that?" Natsu said.

"I think it was a danian parasite. Dractyl is infected now." Erza said.

"Infected?" Natsu questioned.

"I'm sure you were told before. Danians have the ability to turn other creatures into danians. That parasite is how they do it." Lucy said.

"So how does that bug affect the game?" Natsu questioned.

"I'm sure he'll soon show us." Erza said. They watched the battle go on and it wasn't looking good for Dubin. He fired some needles at Dractyl, but Dractyl avoided each of his attacks. Dractyl used another attack and blasted Dubin with it and he ended up getting coded that time. "Looks like Nick has some game himself."

...

The Battle

"How did you like that?" Nick said.

"I didn't, but things are about to change." Zach said. "Odu-Bathax attacks Dractyl!" They started another battle and it was taking place in Cordac Falls. Dractyl flew around in the air and Odu-Bathax launched attacks at him, but he kept missing.

"Ha! You can't hit me in the air!" Dractyl said.

"My attacks might not be able to get you, but mugic can!" Odu-Bathax said. "Unbalancing Battlesong!" Odu-Bathax used his mugic and Dractyl got caught in it with him taking damage and Odu-Bathax gained some. "Try to run from this. Infectious Implosion!" Odu-Bathax used the attack and Dractyla got hit by some green substance and he ended up getting coded from this.

...

The Portcourt

"So that's why he infected Dractyl. He was hoping to do some damage." Erza said.

"Infected creatures help the danians because they can deal damage and much more." Lucy said. "The more creatures that are infected, the more damage can be dealt."

"Sweet. Zach might have a chance if his other creatures can pull that off." Natsu said.

"Maybe, but I hope he makes the right decision in the end." Lucy said.

...

The Battle

Zach's planning to infect some of Nick's creatures. Doing so will give him the advantage to deal more damage and such. So the battle went on.

"Ulmar attacks Odu-Bathax!" Ulmar used Ash Torrent and it caused Odu-Bathax to fall off a cliff and got coded.

"Formicidor attacks Ulmar!" Formicidor used Earth Pulse again and blasted Ulmar with it and he got coded.

"Wrenges attacks Formicidor!" Wrenges blasted Formicidor with a pyro blaster and Formicidor couldn't handle the heat.

"Yondaf attacks Wrenges!" Yondaf blasted Wrenges with Inferno Claws and that coded him as well.

"Tienne attacks Yondaf!" Tienne blasted Yondaf with Spirit Gust and it coded him as well.

"Jaal attacks Tienne!" Jaal blasted pieces of Iron Pillar and it caused all of it to come down and coded Tienne as well.

"Atrapol attacks Jaal!" Atrapol and Jaal went at each other with earth attacks. In the end Atrapol won the battle as his last attack caused a tree to fall and crashed on Jaal and he ended up getting coded.

"You're in trouble, Nick. Atrapol has been infected and that will cause serious problems." Zach said as he was sure he can win this.

"Maybe, but this is a lot of fun. You seriously got game, bro." Nick said. Zach wasn't expecting his brother to say that, but he went on with the battle as he selected the last location.

"The next location...The Infectorium."

"Ooh. Bad news for you since Atrapol is already infected." Zach said. "Creatures that aren't danians that are infected lose energy in that place."

"That won't scare me." Nick said.

"You asked for it. Lore attacks Atrapol!" The final battle was started and it was on. Atrapol was on the attack as he kept trying to blast Lore, but Lore kept avoiding his attacks.

"Delerium!" Lore launched a beam from his head and blasted Atrapol with it. Atrapol was acting all dizzy from that attack and Lore used it to his advantage. "Had enough?" Lore used another wisdom-based attack and blasted Atrapol with it cand caused him to drop to his knees. Lore was about to finish this, but he stopped himself when he heard Atrapol laughing.

"This battle was actually enjoyable." Atrapol said. He really enjoyed battling his brother and Zach began to see how foolish he was acting. His brother is here, he's enjoying it, Zach is about to win, but it doesn't feel like a win. His friends were all curious and anxious as to what he was about to do.

"No." Lore said as he shot an attack up on the ceiling and caused rocks to fall right on him and he got coded. Everyone was surprised that he did that. The battle was over and Nick was the winner.

"Why did you do that?" Nick asked.

"Because I was battling for the wrong reasons." Zach said. "This is suppose to be a fun game, but I didn't act like it was. I got too caught up in the fear of being overshadowed by you."

"Overshadowed? Zach, your the reason I got into this." Nick said. "This is something we finally have in common. It's just competitive sport."

"You're right." Zach said. "We might get on each other's nerves, but we're still brothers and this is just suppose to be fun." Both of them walked out as brothers. Zach's letting go of his own problems and is now looking forward to battling his brother just for the fun of it. That's how brothers are. They annoy each other, but they still support each other.
