Draco: Colosseum and XD really ended gameplay-wise as soon as you had Snagged and purified the last Shadow Pokémon. But you didn't think I was gonna have Wes' motivation for his defection being Michael's Eevee and not present some #VideoGameCaringPotential, did you? XD had one particular Shadow Pokémon who you could purify and then offer for an in-game trade, so let's recreate that in a much more meaningful way. This one's gonna be short and sweet.

Chapter 29: Final Atonement
"You sure about this?"
"Yeah, I am."
It was almost noon at Gateon Port; Wes and Rui had newly arrived, with Wes having made sure to bring one particular Pokémon to this encounter. Sure enough, a familiar pair of figures were standing at the docks - a young boy in yellow and blue, and a young girl in a white dress. With a deep breath, Wes made to approach them, careful to keep his hands away from his belt.
The boy, Michael, was the first one to notice him; the girl, Jovi, followed her brother's gaze to find Wes standing there. "Who are you? Jovi and her brother are busy!"
Wes nodded. "Sorry," he insisted, "I just..."
"Wait-! Jovi knows you!" The girl stepped back. "You're the bad man who stole big brother's Eevee!"
"Yeah," Wes confirmed, "I am."
Michael stepped back as Jovi stormed forward. "Jovi won't let you take big brother's Pokémon again! Jovi will stop you!"
"I'm not here to take any more Pokémon," Wes insisted. "I'm here to give your Pokémon back."
Jovi shook her head. "You can't fool Jovi! Jovi knows better than to believe a bad man!"
Wes sighed. "I'm not lying. And I can prove it."
He stepped back and seized the Ultra Ball off his belt, tossing it forward lightly. Jovi continued to glare at him until the Ball opened - and both she and Michael started as they saw the Eevee standing there. The Evolution Pokémon slowly opened her eyes, and after a moment, she raised her gaze to Michael, who had a look of shock on his face.
A smile rose on Eevee's face, and it was reflected on her Trainer's; the Pokémon leapt up at Michael, who stepped forward to catch her in his arms before kneeling down happily.
Jovi smiled at the sight before turning to Wes. "Jovi... Jovi is sorry," she insisted. "Jovi should have believed you."
"It's okay," Wes assured her, "you were right to doubt me." He handed over the Poké Ball. "After what I did, there was no reason for you to take me at my word."
"But... Jovi wants to thank you." Her expression abruptly changed, and she turned to Michael. "Big brother-!"
Michael nodded, getting to his feet; still holding Eevee in one arm, he reached his other hand for his belt, where Wes saw a Poké Ball hanging. To the Snagger's surprise, he tossed the Ball forward - and a Togepi appeared there, looking up curiously.
"Jovi's daddy gave big brother a new Pokémon after the bad people were done for good," Jovi explained. "But big brother really missed Eevee. If you trade with big brother..."
Wes chuckled. "Sure," he agreed. "I'll make that trade."
Michael handed him Togepi's Poké Ball; the Spike Ball Pokémon gave a cheerful cry before Wes made to withdraw her, stepping away.
Rui was watching with a smile on her face, holding the case for the Manaphy Egg in both arms. "That was awful nice of them," she observed.
"It was," Wes agreed. "I wasn't expecting them to reward me just for making things right."
The two of them started out of Gateon Port - and as they did, the Egg that Rui was carrying began to glow.
