Alea's POV

"Today is the day, the start of my new gig." I grumble to myself as I walk through the hallways of beacon academy. The only way I can describe them is bland, grey walls with uninteresting archways don't really make for a visual spectacle. Several of the students and passersby's glare at me, I can't say I'm surprised. After all the years in the business I was bound to garner quite the reputation. I saw looks of anger, determination and hatred but the emotion that I saw in most of their eyes was fear. Fear over what I could do and why I was here.

I ignore them and proceed to the elevator that would take me to the headmaster's office. As I reached the elevator, I pressed the call button and a few seconds later the doors opened. I stepped in and up to Ozpin's office I went. When the doors open again, I stepped out into the large open space that was the headmaster's office.

Underneath the glass floor you could see the cogs of the clock tower turning and if you listened closely enough it was possible to hear the subtle clicks of the clock itself. And on the side opposing side from the elevator doors sat Ozpin behind his desk.

"Alea, wonderful to have you here today. I assume that you have read the documents I sent you?" he said in a truly disturbingly cheery tone.

"indeed, Ruby Rose age 15, stopped an armed robbery led by the notorious criminal Roman Torchwick. I saw the recording of the fight; her skills are impressive but the flaws in her style were easily recognizable."

"You are right of course, but she is still a child and I invited here so she could grow. Moving on, as you might already know the new students will arrive later today. I am going to hold a speech where I will introduce you to the initiates. You will introduce yourself in a manner that you see fit with minimal harm to any of the new students." Ozpin paused, checking if he still had my attention. I nodded my head and he continued. "After your little introduction you will be escorted to your new living quarters. Tomorrow morning at 8 am sharp you will meet me and Glynda Goodwitch by the cliffs overlooking the emerald forest to observe initiation. Any questions?"

"Not any I can think of, but when do we leave for the auditorium?" I asked in my usual ice-cold tone.

"Well, we really should leave now actually. Time sure flies by when you're in a conversation."

I sigh at the professor's antics as we start walking to the elevator before heading down to the ground floor.

From the back I could see the headmaster walking out on the stage. He radiated an aura of mystery and his eyes didn't portray a single emotion. He was enigmatic, as always. I looked out towards the sea of students and initiates. Some sported looks of wonder others of boredom. But in that ocean of people one stool out, my new apprentice, Ruby Rose. She had a look of determination, after all this is what she has worked for her entire life. As I tried getting a better look at her Ozpin started speaking.

"I'll keep this brief. You have all traveled here in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you were finished you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look among you and all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose. Direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at the school will prove that knowledge can only get you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." He gestured to me to come up to the stage. "Our staff will help you on your way but as I said it is up to you what you do with that help. This year we are proud to announce that we have a new person joining our staff and he will serve as your professor in tracking and marksmanship. Many of you may already know him as he is quite notorious in all corners of remnant. I will give you this piece of advice, be careful how you act around him because there will be consequences. Alea, the floor is yours."

I could hear many students gasping and shouting, they clearly recognized me. All I could do was hope that none of them would do anything foolish.

"Thank you, headmaster. I can see that a lot of you know who I am but most likely you don't know me by name and only by my moniker, The eternal assassin. My name is Alea Schwarz and you will refer to me as professor Schwarz. I don't have much to say at the moment as the headmaster has already explained what I will be teaching. None of you will be required to be friendly with me I only wish for us to have a healthy professional relatio-"

"Why the bloody fuck would the headmaster allow that psycho to teach?!"

I heard a student yell; he wasn't anything special. He had brown hair that was cut very short and what looked like a set of knight armor.

"Who might you be, Mr.?"

"Cardin, Cardin Winchester. Do you recognize the name?! You and your fucking assassin-cult killed my father, Cameron Winchester. So, I ask you, what the bloody hell are you doing in a school for huntsmen?!"

I frown, who the hell does this kid think he is? I don't remember who the bloody shite his father was and I really don't care. It's just business after all, and if you end up on the hit-list you were probably not the best person to begin with.

"Can't say I remember him he is just one of many anyway, and as for your second question I thought both Ozpin and I had already explained why I'm here. But you might just be too stupid to understand." I stated calmly, and just as I had finished speaking, I saw him running towards me with his weapon drawn. As he came within striking range, he swung his large mace towards me and all I had to do to dodge was just taking a step to the left. I drew my knife that I had hidden away in my boot. I spun around him putting my arms in a choke-hold around his neck and my knife against his throat.

"Now students, you see what happens when someone tries to mess with me." When I saw the terror in their faces, I couldn't help myself. I started laughing, not a normal laugh but one that would be right at home with some psychopath. The student body's horror became even worse and I could truly smell the fear in the air due to my enhanced senses that come from being a faunus. "Since Mr. Winchester here has offered himself to help me in my presentation I will be quicker than usual." A gasp ran through the student body as I slit the boys throat. None of them could believe what had just happened.

"I hope the rest of you are smart enough to heed the headmasters warning. I will see you in class, goodbye." With those final words I left the auditorium to seek out Oz.

"Was that really necessary?" Ozpin asked, with disappointment very clear in his voice.

"Yeah, sadly this time it was. If I didn't draw the line then the students would keep trying to attack me. This will ultimately lead to the smallest number of casualties so if anything, you should be thanking me for the Aspect's sake! I yell, anger clearly visible in both my mannerisms and my voice.

"Now, now Alea there is no reason to get angry. Let's just put this behind us and move on, after all I haven't showed you your living quarters yet." Ozpin says as he continues to walk through the hallway we had our little chat in.

We had finally arrived in my room, it was nothing luxurious, a relatively large bedroom, a sitting and dining room, a small kitchen and a tiny bathroom with only the bare necessities. None of the rooms could be considered particularly interesting to the eye, grey walls and wooden floors painted white. It was perfect for someone like me, nothing fancy, just what I wanted.

"Damn Oz, nice place you got me."

"thank you Alea, if I remember correctly you have never really been one for bright colors or ornate decorations. Also, you will find your new timetable on your bed."

"anything else I should know about about?" I asked with a hint of amusement.

"no that should be all old friend. Oh and don't forget about initiation tomorrow morning." He said as he left me alone to my thoughts.

I sat on my bed a few hours after my conversation with Ozpin. On the scroll that laid on top of my lap you could see a picture of two women, one of had blond hair, sun-kissed skin and was clad in white robes with gold trims, many would say that she looked like one of the priests of old and they wouldn't be to wrong. The other woman looked like her polar opposite, onyx black that turned blood red at the tips, her skin was pale and almost sickly so, she looked quite like a porcelain doll, you couldn't see the rest of her body as it was covered by her pristine white cloak. There was one thing that the two women shared outside of a rather unimpressive height and that was their eyes. They were like pools of molten silver and if you looked close enough you could almost see the barley contained power behind the beautiful orbs.

"Why did you have to leave Summer? Why couldn't you have been here, it would have made everything so much easier. How will I tell her?" I cried, it had been years since I last spilled a tear but I guess it had been a long time coming. I quickly lost my sense of time as I wept until I entered Morpheus' realm.

AN: I don't really have a good reason for why this chapter took over a month to post except for a lack of motivation. As always constructive criticism is appreciated and I'm still looking for a co writer and/or beta.

Icy out.
