MHA/DC Crossover.
It's as simple as it sounds, really. Izuku has the power of the Green Lantern and still no quirk. It is a pretty similar idea to the other story I have up on my profile, but with different powers basically.
This story will be a little different and will deviate more from canon and will be mostly with OOC characters. It's a AU basically. It'll follow the same general plot line still.
It had been all over the news for months. A young boy's sudden disappearance after school and after a certain villain attack. A boy who acted as a hero to save his friend, only to immediately go missing afterwards. That all happened when Izuku Midoriya took action to save his supposed friend Katsuki Bakugou, rushing in to break him free of a slime villain before completely disappearing shortly after the rescue was done.
No heroes even had time to talk to him, scold him or correctly identify him after his actions. All Might never got the chance to once again meet the boy he had told he couldn't be a hero without a quirk. He never managed to make up with his best potential choice for a successor. That all went down the drain and a new successor was found quickly afterwards, though, the green haired boy was treated as a true hero for his one simple feat.
A true heroic action couldn't be forgotten that easily. A simple kid who risked it all to save one person. Nobody would have made a better successor for the most powerful quirk in existence.
The disappearance wasn't taken lightly by anyone at all. Heroes, the police, everyone who could manage searched for the boy in an attempt to find him but to no avail, as four years went by without any trace of Izuku Midoriya. The only clue was the flashing green light when the boy went missing.
His mother was of course left devastated by the fact his only son, the only real person she cared about was gone, but she still never gave up the hope that she might one day see him again, and she was completely correct by staying hopeful.
One random night, the exact same flashing green light from the day of Izuku Midoriya's disappearance struck through the darkness and enveloped the garbage lot that was Takoba Municipal Beach Park, entirely clearing it of trash in a split second, with the only figure left on the sandy shore being a young man wearing a ring and a strange bodysuit. More specifically a glowing green ring.
The sudden bright green light coming from the beach was a shock to most residents nearby and almost everyone in the city who saw the blinding glow of green. Though, what none of them saw or knew, was that Izuku Midoriya hadn't exactly desired to be back on Earth. He more so crash landed on it after a sudden impact against an asteroid.
It wasn't a rare occurrence for him or for a Green Lantern in general but it still was not nice to be surprised by a massive space rock crashing into your body at immense speeds, especially when it landed you on Earth. It was his home planet, though one that he hadn't returned to since his disappearance. He used to love the place and he still did, as he every so often looked at it from outer space. What he didn't like any longer was the incredible amount of heroes available that could be dispatched to anything even remotely suspicious or dangerous. His crash landing was apparently considered both, as the moment Izuku woke up from the fairly strong impact, he was blinded by flashing lights, surrounded by vehicles, and being stared at by heroes.
Those four years away from Earth had done a lot for the green haired teen now, who was eighteen years old and supposed to start going to University at his age. Instead of doing that though, he was part of an intergalactic police force called the Green Lanterns, protecting sector 2814 with a partner. A partner and mentor called Hal Jordan, who he hadn't seen in a few months.
He was someone Izuku hoped would show up to help him out a slight bit, as apparently coming from space called the attention of the strongest heroes in Japan, fully evidenced by the array of heroes staring him down and ready to attack.
On the front line of attack or defense, whatever it was, stood All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, Miruko, Best Jeanist and Kamui Woods.
It would've been extremely exciting to see if not for the fact they really looked on edge. One wrong move and Izuku would probably be screwed. Actually, not exactly screwed but more so annoyed at having to fight them all.
His years away from Earth and in Oa training weren't easy at all. In fact, they were like something from Hell. It was constant training and combat every single day, with only a few short hours of breaks before going right back to the exhausting routine. He was thrown into volcanoes and ordered to climb out, forced to fight several strange and extremely fucking strong creatures and even forced to fight other Lanterns, be it Green or Blue. It was hellish but it was worth it.
Becoming a full fledged Green Lantern was no easy feat. It meant you wore one of the most powerful weapons in the universe on your finger. You had to be chosen by the ring and trained to wield it correctly.
Izuku went a step further and managed to learn the powers of both the Green and Blue ring, making him even stronger than the usual Lantern Corps. Though, he wasn't sure he'd be able to fight all the heroes on the scene but if he was forced, he'd just have to do so.
"You! Who are you? What are your intentions with our Nation and Planet? Where did you come from?!" Endeavor asked with a stern voice as Izuku slowly stood up from off the sand and shook the dirt off his suit, looking over the heroes with the exact same wary eyes they were using on him.
He slowly brought his hand closer to his mouth and spoke. "What is my exact location?" Izuku whispered to the green ring on his finger, watching as plenty of holographic screens came up for only his viewing. "Takoba Municipal Beach, huh? I guess I cleared the place out with my landing." He thought, looking over the heroes once more, taking a step forward only to be stopped by an onslaught of flames.
"Stay right there, Villain! Come any closer and we will engage!" The number two Hero called out once more, which urged Hawks to let out a soft chuckle.
"Come on, how do you even know he's a villain? And I mean, look at him! He's just a teenager. Eighteen at best." The winged man said to the flame hero and the others, who either nodded in agreement or grunted to show annoyance at his interruption.
"What are your intentions here? Answer or we will be forced to act and apprehend you!" All Might's booming voice called out.
That simple feat of slight intimidation would've made Izuku cry tears of joy when he was younger, but ever since those words the hulking man had said to him all those years back, he couldn't help but feel a slight bit of disappointment. It just wasn't the same anymore. He no longer looked up to him or other heroes. He only looked up to the older Green Lantern Corps.
"I simply crash landed on Earth. I didn't mean to disturb any of you heroes or any of the citizens in the city. I was reporting to my job and got distracted, that's all." Izuku spoke back, closing his fist slightly as he saw the other heroes get even more uneasy for some reason.
"Crash landed on Earth? Is this guy really an alien or something? What a joke. He doesn't look like much anyways." The rabbit hero snickered and spoke to Hawks, who shrugged his shoulders lightly, even more wary of the situation than before.
"What is this supposed job you were doing? How were you out in space?" Jeanist fiddled with some of the fabric threads he was holding, keeping his battle stance just in case anything broke out.
It was a tiny bit annoying how everyone reacted worse to Izuku actually speaking Japanese. He was Japanese for god's sake! It was pretty fucking obvious!
"Classified and classified. I can't and won't answer any of your questions. I'm sorry for the disturbance I caused but I'll be on my way now." The green haired teen spoke and looked up at the sky, a split second away from flying off before he was suddenly captured by Kamui Woods.
"Lacquered Chains Prison!" The Woods Hero shouted, encasing and wrapping Izuku in his wooden arms.
At that action, Miruko and Hawks let out a light chuckle at the quick work the lowest ranking of them had managed to do of the supposed threat, while All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist and Kamui Woods himself kept stern expressions.
"Is this guy really even a threat? He's supposed to be from outer space or something, right? How is he this weak then?... I'd laugh more but it's somewhat disappointing. I was aching for a good fight, dammit!" Miruko complained as she stomped one of her powerful legs on the sand.
"I'm actually from Japan, you know… and I'm not a threat. My house is actually only a few minutes away from here… or was, I guess?" Midoriya spoke as he simply made himself intangible and phased through the wooden prison.
"What?! How did he manage that?! Is that his quirk?" Kamui immediately called out in surprise.
"What does it matter? He's resisted being arrested, we're all free to engage as we see necessary." Endeavor said slightly menacingly as he stepped forward, only to quickly be passed by All Might who rushed forward to defeat the supposed threat and hold him down.
In less than a second, All Might's hand met with Midoriya, though not in the way he hoped as the Green Lantern created a wall to stop the hit, which only cracked at the strike, which was a shock to everyone present, including Izuku but for different reasons. The heroes were shocked someone could even stop All Might while Izuku was shocked at how strong he was even against him.
"Incredibly strong willpower… but just not as strong as mine. Hellish training will do that to ya!" Izuku thought, using his power ring to shape giant hands which quickly grabbed ahold of the other heroes, holding them down with incredible strength.
As the power ring user expected, none of them managed to break free or do anything more than struggle from their respective positions. Even All Might hadn't managed to break free of the massive fist holding him firmly in place.
The immense group of policemen further behind the heroes could only look at the scene with fear in their eyes.
"What the hell?!" Kamui spoke up.
"What the fuck is this?" Hawks called out in a slight panic.
"Release me now, Villain!" Endeavor (obviously) yelled out, still attempting to break through the green light construct.
"Fucking fight like a real man!" Miruko snarled, all while Best Jeanist just stayed silent, looking forward at All Might and the mysterious young man who had just apprehended them all in a second.
"Who are you? Why are you really here?" All Might's voice overpowered all the rest, the green limb holding him slowly cracking more and more at the hero's continued efforts to escape.
His will to do so was only growing stronger and stronger, which wasn't really surprising. He was the number one hero after all.
"I'm Izuku Midoriya… and as I said, I crash landed here. I haven't been back on Earth since I left it four years ago.
"Izuku… Midoriya?..." All Might wondered out loud, furrowing his eyebrows and pouring out even more of his power, pushing himself to the limit practically as he managed to break free of the power ring's construct, though not without struggle as the hero toppled to one knee. A second later, the heroes' eyes widened in realization. They all remembered him. His disappearance was devastating news for years. "You're him… you disappeared four years ago after the slime villain incident!..."
"Is this for real? The kid who went missing just… comes back as a teenager?! And from space?!" Kamui Woods called out in disbelief as well, while the other heroes just stopped struggling against the green light constructs as they froze at the revelation. His disappearance was one of the biggest mysteries in the past few years. Now he was back, with immense power and a new life.
"That's the one… now, can we please stop fighting?... I already revealed that much. I'll answer other questions you may have… but first, I want to go back home." Izuku started, sighing sadly. "Can you find out where Inko Midoriya lives?..."
———————
Soon after the very strange conflict had gone down on the beach, Izuku was at a police station answering most of the heroes' questions, keeping slightly secretive for some of his answers while the others were completely truthful.
It was a tiring and boring experience, and that said a lot considering the green haired teen had been in more stress enduring or even tedious situations before. Stakeouts, stopping several wars from breaking out, just all of that seemed beneath the fact that the questioning was slow as hell.
Not only that but the fact that Miruko kept bugging Izuku to fight her for real got extremely annoying very quickly. He only agreed to it later so she'd leave him alone. He really only wanted to see his mother, who was being brought to the station apparently.
It had been a long four years since the two had seen one another and Izuku would've been lying if he said he didn't miss her. She was the one person he completely cared about and continued to think of during his training as a Green Lantern.
She was the perfect mother to him and he just hadn't been a good son. He needed to make that up to her. He needed to make up the four years they lost.
"Izuku Midoriya! Where is my son?! Is this some type of cruel joke?!" A feminine voice called out from down the hall to where Izuku sat along with Miruko, who was still just pestering him. Though, as Izuku heard that voice, he quickly moved forward and faced the woman he knew was his mother. She looked almost no different than when he had disappeared.
He had a massive smile on his face, even as tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Mom? I-It's me… Izuku. I-I just… happened to grow up a little." The teen stuttered out, stepping closer to Inko, who was staring up at him with wide eyes and a smile. She practically had the same expression as him, the difference being that her tears were almost being shot out in comparison to his own.
"Izuku… I-It's really you. My baby…" Inko whispered as she stepped closer to the teen, firmly wrapping her arms around his waist and pulling him close, basically choking the air out of him with the firmness of her hug.
"It's me, mom… I-I missed you… so much… and there's a lot you have to k-know… I just… I really needed you. I still need you." He cried out softly, his knees slightly buckling as he stepped forward once again and hugged his mother back, holding her close as he leant down to rest his head against her shoulder, crying his eyes out as he did so.
It wasn't a perfect reunion. It was messy and in a very public space yet somehow it felt just right. Izuku had his mother back and Inko had her son. They just had a lot of catching up to do.
That's the first chapter. I feel like this could be a good story if I put enough effort into it and all but I'm also in the midst of writing another MHA story so it'll be slightly tough to balance the two out with updates.
This might just stay as a one-shot.
If this receives positive reviews overnight, I'll try though.
