The last few days been strange. Had a lockdown birthday which was very odd. Just watched films and eat pizza and ice cream. Had writer block as well, then had an idea that didn't work so I had to rewrite this chapter a few times.

Chapter 6

Merlin and the knights looked around, there was nowhere for them to go. That put everyone on edge – waiting for any surprise. But nothing happened. They all looked at each other with questioning looks.

"I think I rather still be walking," said Leon not relaxing his grip on his sword.

"I don't." said Merlin at once "I swear, I will need news boots when this is over."

Everyone was quite taking in the silence and not knowing what to say. There was only so much you can talk about tapped in as cave.

Gwaine started to go around knocking and banging on different rocks that were sticking out. Everyone watched him – Gwaine must have felt the eyes on him because he turned around, "I'm just checking for secrets doors," he said shrugged "You never know…."

"Maybe we need to just talk again." Said Percival

"And maybe not." Said Leon, rubbing his chin "We don't know what we are doing. We are just guessing and hoping for the best."

Gwaine shrugged again "It has worked so far pretty well,"

"Our luck won't last much longer," pointed out Leon "This could be a prison, we could have done something wrong and no we are stuck here forever…" They were a long silence before Leon walked to a wall and started to copy Gwaine by knocking on rocks and sticking his hand into gaps. Merlin and Percival gave each other a sidewise look before joining them.

"You are being awfully quite, Merlin." Said Gwaine after about ten minutes of looking "Something on your mind? Looks like you're doing some serious thinking."

"I am just thinking about that dead me…. Whatever that was," said Merlin knowing there was no point telling everyone nothing was on his mind. The knights were paying more attention to him and actually wanted him to talk and listen to him. Plus Gwaine wouldn't give up asking him until he told. "And what Percival said about them…."

Percival thought for a moment trying to remember what he said. "What... about we having to face our deaths?" he asked.

Merlin nodded. "You remember the Dorocha?" the knights all nodded they weren't going to forget them in a hurry. "They killed everything they touch…. Yet, they didn't kill me….and I starting to wonder…. Am I cursed?"

"I could of be wrong," said Percival at once "It was just an idea…."

"But you could be right," said Merlin at once "Maybe that's why mine disappeared…."

"I think we should worry about getting out of here first," said Gwaine – he could tell this was playing on Merlin's mind. "I will even help you find answers – after everything…. It will be a quest just us two. But I don't think it's something you should be too worried about…."

"You want to go on a quest after all this?" asked Leon turning to Gwaine.

"Well," said Gwaine thoughtfully "None of us have got hurt yet – not even a cut. And we only had a real fight once – and that was pretty easy – compared to our other experience with fighting the dead…"

"Don't speck too soon." Warned Percival as he was carrying on looking at the rocks. Percival didn't want to jinx themselves.

"I think I found something," said Leon suddenly. Everyone turned to him. He pulled a piece for parchment from a small gap with his fingers. He open it out to find out it was written in the same language as the secret sharing chamber – old welsh. He passed it too Merlin "What dose it say?" he asked

Merlin looked at it and frowned. "This doesn't make sense," he said

"You can read it right?" asked Gwaine

"Yes," said Merlin looking at the others "This is written by us…." Everyone looked shock at this. "Hold on it says." Merlin quickly read it to himself then translated it for the others "If you found this note – you still have a change to get out…." Began Merlin "Listen to our warning and our tales of woe. Around and around we gone through here – this is not the first trip you have done. Do not frowned in disbelief – just because you don't remember doesn't mean it's untrue. To get out of this room – it is simple – just asked nicely. When you do two ways will appeared. Two of you need to go one way and two of you the other. Now this is were you need to listen carefully. The fisher king two go the way of sliver light. And the other two go the way of the gold light. Follow this and you will be closer to getting out….."

"So, according to that we been thought all these tests more than once?" asked Leon slowly.

"According to this," repeated Merlin holding the note. "I mean…. It could be possible I guess…I mean…..this place is….strange….and it's properly not the strangest thing I ever heard of…..And I guess it could be possible…"

"Are you sure this was written by us? None of us can read it expect you…" said Gwaine at once "And," he added looking over Merlin's shoulder "That doesn't look like your handwriting…."

"It could have been me," said Merlin looking at the writing careful "I mean I had never write in old Welsh – it's bad enough reading it something…." Merlin looked at the writing "Anyway – my writing always changes. Gaius is always complying about it…."

"But why write it in that language in the first place?" pressed Gwaine "It would have been easier to write something everyone can read….and write our names on it….so we know it is from us…."

"How I am meant to know," said Merlin "I haven't done it yet! Or I don't remember doing it. Maybe I did it because I'm the only one who could read it…."

"Maybe we should follow the rules in the letter," said Leon "What was it? Asked the cave it nicely?" Merlin reread the letter and nodded his head. Leon looked around feeling stupid said "Cave, maybe you please let us out of here?" nothing happen.

"Maybe you asked it wrong," said Gwaine "Good day, good and mighty cave. Thank you for the shelter and the lessons. Please maybe we continue on with our journey." Again nothing happen. "Maybe we all gotten ask," he said "Percival, you're polite..."

"Please can we carry on….thank you…." Said Percival awkwardly

"Merlin," said Gwaine disappointed in Percival attempt "You know how to be polite. You are royal servant…."

"I'm not polite the, Arthur." said Merlin at once "I just tell him what he needs to head – weather he like it or not. He needs to know where he is being a prat. And when he is wrong about something…."

"Well, maybe pretend the cave is Arthur…." Said Gwaine "Anything is worth a go."

"That'll be easy – they are both annoying," said Merlin. "So," said Merlin specking out loud. "You want us do learn something – but what? You are just playing games at the moment. We are all confused and we don't know weather left is right or right is left. And how can we learn if we are confused? It is very hard to learn when we are confused because most of the time we end up more confused than we started…." Merlin was specking quickly "What we need is a clear lesson. A clear test… please…"

They all wanted for a moment, "Maybe the Letter is a joke," said Leon

"Please show us the two ways we can go?" asked Gwaine "Thank you for the lessons we already had. Please can we carry on…. We are sorry we went inside, that was disrespectful and we all humble apologise for trespassing in here. Maybe we please carry on… We are must obliged for the lessons you have bequeathed on us. We are truly gratified…"

"Gwaine – shut up," said Merlin "Look,"

"Well, who would of thought it – I am the most polite on out of all of you," said Gwaine "So Me and Merlin will go down the sliver….and you two go down the gold…."

"You are the fisher king two?" asked Leon "That makes no sense….only Arthur….." Leon paused for a moment then looked at Merlin "You followed him there didn't you?"

"That is a story for another day," said Merlin "It will take too long to explain and Arthur will kill me. Because he went on that quest alone and didn't need any help at all– because…..his Arthur and….."

"Okay okay," said Leon feeling that maybe he didn't want to know. Something things are better left alone. "Well, good luck…and see you again soon."

"See you again soon" echo Merlin – as he and Gwaine went down one path way and Percival and Leon went down the other
