Chapter 6

Renesmee's POV

Glancing round yet again at Rebekah who was once again giggling at Matt for his attempt to try and impress her with his supposedly cool but in my eyes lame jokes, though my vampire friend didn't seem to mind this one bit because since she'd arrived all she could do was make eyes at poor Matty.

"Ok so a guy walks into a bar with a giraffe and orders a couple of drinks, by the end of the night the two are that shit faced the giraffe collapses to the floor. Now his friend stumbles to the door but before he can leave he hears the bar man shout 'hey!' and the guy turns round to see the bar man looking at him but pointing to the giraffe. The bar man says 'I hope you're not gonna leave that lying there' and then the other guy says 'its not a lion its a giraffe'" laughed the love struck fool himself.

'Ooooh Matty' I thought to myself pinching my nose and shaking my head.

The others looked just about on the same page as me as Bonnie had her head buried in her jacket trying not to laugh at our poor friend and Jeremy silently groaned palming his head.

Yep this was just too painful to bare and I'm a vampire.

"It's times like these I wish the floor would just open up and swallow me whole" I muttered to Bonnie who was sat on the arm of the chair I was currently perched on.

"That makes two of us" said Bonnie.

"I think I'm beginning to understand now why Matt's still single" I muttered taking a sip of my coke.

"Sooo Matt, I hear your single"

Hearing this I spat out my drink developing a coughing fit whilst looking at Rebekah with wide eyes.

"Are you okay?" I heard Bonnie ask me feeling her pat my back.

Cough "y-yeah" cough "I'm good" I choked out.

'Geese Beck's talk about not wasting time' I thought to myself.

"Oh yeah? And where'd you hear that?" asked Matt giving her a side grin.

"You'd be surprised how fast word gets around these days" smirked Rebekah.

'Uh huh, very surprising indeed Beck's' I sarcastically thought.

"Annnd what if I am?" asked Matt in a devious manner.

Oh god here we go.

"Well if you so happen to be, then err…" Rebekah trailed off leaning in to whisper something in Matt's eaAAAEEEEEEW!

"How about you and I find ourselves a nice quiet little place so I can rip your clothes off and ravish you thoroughly until the only thing you can speak is my name when I make you co…"

Beckkkky! You monster! I can hear every word!

Knock knock

"I'll get it!" I practically shouted with joy jumping up from my seat to race to the door.

Whoever this is I am going to kiss them.

Nearly wrenching open the door I saw it was the pizza dude.

"Hey" he spoke smiling at me.

"Hi" I said returning the gesture, "how much do we owe you?" I asked taking the boxes from him.

"Err t-that comes to fourteen dollars twenty five" he stuttered.

The guy looked round my age, he had sun kissed skin short black hair deep brown eyes and had the body of an athlete. He seemed kind of familiar, though I'm not sure why because someone like him would be hard to forget, in a friendly manner of course.

Blushing at how he couldn't seem to stop grinning at me with those pearly whites of his I dug my hand into my pocket to give him the money.

"Keep the change" I said providing him with one last smile watching as he walked back to his car glancing over his shoulder at me once twice three times before I closed the door.

'Well, that was interesting' I thought to myself.

"Foods here guys!" I called into the living room.

"We gathered!" Jeremy sarcastically shouted back.

"Actually if its okay with you guys Rebekah and I are gonna bounce" spoke Matt as I placed the pizza boxes on the coffee table.

"Now? But the nights not even begun" said Bonnie looking disappointed yet sounding almost concerned.

"I know but I thought I'd show Rebekah around town and help her get to know the place a little" said Matt.

Just as Bonnie was about to open her mouth I took this time to butt in.

"It's cool Matt don't worry about it, just go and have a good time" I said urging him on.

I couldn't understand why Bonnie was trying to play the guilt trick, if the poor guy wanted to go that was his choice not hers.

"Are you sure? Because I don't wanna seem like a dick walking out on you guys like this" said Matt looking compromised.

"Don't be silly of course its okay, right guys?" I asked glancing between both Bonnie and Jeremy who looked as though they'd just been caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

"Err y-yeah sure, its fine man" stumbled Jeremy.

I then turned to Bonnie who caught on to my stern facial expression and seemed defeated.

"We'll be fine, you just go ahead" she said.

"Alright well I'll catch you guys later" said Matt getting up off the couch and walking to the door with Rebekah in toe.

"Hey Beck's!" I called making her turn to face me, "five minutes" I said smirking at her.

Knowing what I meant she grinned leaving the house after Matt.

"Are you sure it's a good idea for the two of them to be alone?" Bonnie asked me.

"Are you kidding? I think its a blessing in disguise, I mean did you see the way those two were eye humping each other? Would you much rather sit through that the whole evening? Or have them find some other spot to...do their...business" I said shuddering at the thought.

"She's got a point" said Jeremy grabbing a slice of pizza.

"Its not that, I just worry is all" said Bonnie in concern.

"Well rest your mind because as far as I'm concerned those two will be completely fine" I assured her grabbing some pizza out the box and munched away.

"Its not Rebekah I'm worried about" Bonnie muttered though I heard her quite perfectly.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked her.

"What?" she questioned.

"That what you just said right then about not being worried about Rebekah. What do you mean?" I asked her again in a stern tone.

"Nothing just that...well you did say she was a vampire" said Bonnie.

"Yeah, and your point being?" I asked waiting for her answer.

Not saying anything I saw Bonnie throw a look at Jeremy who right then I noticed was wearing the same expression as her, concern and distrust. It didn't take me two minutes to figure out what exactly what was going on here as I nodded in understanding.

"Ooooh I get it, you automatically think that just because I have a vampire for a friend that she's a bad seed. Well isn't that convenient" I said feeling a rush of anger flow through my body.

"Ren its not that we want to think that, its just if this chick is who you say then we have to be careful" explained Jeremy.

"Why? Because she might frenzy and try to drink us all dry? Rebekah's not like that, okay? She's different" I defensively spoke.

Who were they to judge when they couldn't even figure out their own damn lives? I mean coinciding with Damon Salvatore just because Elena Gilbert wills it so? Give me a freaking break, that girl was no goddamn queen Cleopatra and she definitely doesn't have the right to order her friends or family around.

"How so?" asked Bonnie.

"Lets just say that had it not been for her I probably wouldn't be here today" I told them.

"What do you mean?" asked Jeremy now frowning at me.

"Last year I got attacked by another vampire just behind the Mystic Grill, I tried to fight him off but as we all know no human can match a vampire. But before he could sink his teeth in my neck Rebekah showed up and literally tore him off me before killing the son of a bitch" I explained.

"Oh my god" gasped Bonnie.

"Why didn't you tell us?" asked Jeremy.

"Would you have believed me? If I'd told you I was almost slaughtered by a vampire can you honestly tell me you wouldn't have laughed in my face?" I asked them.

"Never. We would never have laughed at you, you're our friend Renesmee you can tell us anything" Bonnie assured me.

"I know you think me crazy to be friends with a vampire but Rebekah was once human herself, she didn't choose this life, it was given to her by force. She wanted to be normal, but sadly that never came to be. Yes she may feed off human blood but that doesn't make her a bad person, it's in her nature to survive" I said.

"By taking the lives of innocents?" Bonnie questioned in a snarky manner.

"Only those who deserve it, but she mainly drinks from blood bags" I told her.

Seriously, what was Bonnie's problem?

"You said she was turned by force, how?" asked Jeremy.

Sighing I sat down on the couch, "well as far as I know it was in fact Rebekah's parents who turned her. She and the rest of her sibling's had been tricked into drinking vampire blood and that's when their evil bastard of a father murdered them" I said.

I was tweaking the story a bit because even though they were my friends I couldn't trust that if I told them the actual truth about just who Rebekah was that Bonnie or Jeremy wouldn't go tattle tailing to the oh so wonderful Elena. Don't get me wrong I wanted to trust them but I couldn't risk Rebekah's life, or Elijah's for that matter (not that they didn't already know about him of course).

"But why? Why would they kill their own spouse?" asked Bonnie.

"I'm not sure" I lied shrugging my shoulders, "all I know is that they turned them and Beck's has been living in misery about it ever since" I said.

"Well, I kind of feel like a bit of an asshole" muttered Jeremy.

"It still sounds kind of rehearsed to me" said Bonnie with a frown upon her face.

Alright, that was enough.

"Stop. Just stop Bonnie. Rebekah is my friend and that's not about to change" I told her.

"Just don't be surprised when she tries to take a bite out of you" said Bonnie in a snide remark.

"What are you? The vampire police?" I sarcastically asked her.

"No I'm a concerned friend looking out for someone who is too stupid to see that she's playing with fire" Bonnie argued.

I scoffed. "This coming from the girl who actually does?" I asked getting up off the couch.

"Come on guys, lets take it down a notch here" spoke Jeremy trying to calm this situation, but his attempt fell on deaf ears.

"Do not pull that crap with me Renesmee because believe me it will end badly!" fired Bonnie raising herself off the chair daring to size me up.

"Go ahead, pull one of you're little witchy stunts. I dare you" I challenged her.

"Ren please stop" pleaded Jeremy getting in between Bonnie and I.

I didn't want to fight her but if Bonnie wanted to start this shit then so be it.

"Don't. Tempt. Me" she said separating each word.

"Why not? You seem keen enough to go after Rebekah, why not start with me?" I sneered at her. "Come on Bennett, show me what you got" I said raising my voice now.

"No don't!" Jeremy shouted in Bonnie's direction.

"Yes! Do it!" I snapped.

"No!"

"Do it!" I shouted again.

SMASH!

Went the window behind me causing the three of us to jump back in fright shielding our faces as pieces of shattered glass went flying everywhere.

"What the hell?" gapped Jeremy.

"What was that?" asked Bonnie.

Carefully approaching the now broken window I glanced outside in attempt to catch sight of the culprit, but weirdly none was there.

However as I inhaled the air I caught a scent, one that I recognized without a doubt in my mind causing me to grit my teeth.

Wolves

'Oh great' I thought to myself in frustration. This was all I needed right now, another freaking showdown with the four legged fur balls.

"Is anyone out there?"

I heard Jeremy ask. "No, none" I told him.

"What's that?" Bonnie asked.

I narrowed my head round to see what she was talking about and as I followed her gaze I saw a brick lying on the floor next to the coffee table with what looked like a piece of paper strapped to it.

Jeremy picking it up unraveled the paper from the brick and took in whatever contents were on it.

"What is it Jer?" I asked seeing the confused expression on his face.

"I don't know" he muttered.

Bonnie and I going either side of him looked at the paper.

THE DEVIL'S BITCH MUST DIE

What the hell? What did that even mean?

"The devil's bitch must die?" questioned Bonnie seeming just as lost about this.

Out the corner of my eye I saw her and Jeremy give each other a knowing look as if code for 'Huston we have a serious problem'.

Jeremy then whipping out his phone excused himself before walking into the kitchen.

I wondered to myself if this was yet again about Elena because I couldn't see any other reason why the wolves would go through all this trouble to threaten somebody. It wouldn't surprise me though if she has somehow managed to piss them off, after all she is Katherine's descendant and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I was right though because just then I heard Jer talking to his sister or should I say cousin over the phone.

He was telling her about the threatening note and Elena was freaking out asking if he was okay, but the thing I had to stop myself laughing about was when I heard her ask where Damon was.

"I don't know, I saw him at the grill before but I haven't seen since. Why?" he asked her.

'Oooo naughty naughty Jer. Lying to your sister? Tut tut' I thought to myself in smugness.

"He was supposed to be watching after you!" Elena screeched down the phone.

Oh well, I guess he got a little...tied up.

"I don't know what to tell you Elena" said Jeremy.

"Great, just great. The one time I actually rely on him and he screws up" Elena said sighing in irritation.

Geese you're not above the clock woman, give it a rest already.

Right then my own phone rang in my pocket. Taking it out I saw the I.D belonged to Aunt Rosalie so I pressed answer.

Renesmee - Normal - Rosalie - Bold

"Hey what's up?" I asked.

"He knows"

"Huh?" I questioned wondering what my Aunt meant and why she sounded so distressed.

"Damon knows about us!" Rosalie screeched.

"What? How?" I asked her feeling my heart rate pick up.

"He saw me fighting the wolves. I've rung Elijah he's on his way but you have to get out of there, now!"

Oh shit. This wasn't good. This was in no way at all good. Turning to my left I saw Bonnie looking at me with a questioning expression, but that was the least of my worries because right then I heard something click and narrowed my gaze to see Jermey who had reappeared from the kitchen only to be holding a sling shot, pointing it directly toward me.

"Y-yeah, somehow I think it's a little late for that" I told my Aunt not once removing my gaze from Jeremy.

"Why?" she asked in a panicked state.

"Just trust me on this" I said taking the phone away from my ear before ending the call.

"You don't wanna do that Jer" I carefully told him.

"Get away from her Bonnie" he said keeping his stance.

"What's going on?" asked my confused witchy friend.

"Just do it Bon! Get away from her!" Jeremy snapped.

Bonnie though still not understanding did as Jeremy said and went to stand beside him.

"Jer, what are you doing?" I asked him trying not to sound nervous.

"No. I get to ask the questions now. What the hell are you?" he asked in a calm but firm manner.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I lied.

"Bullshit! Stefan told me everything. Now what are you!" Jermey snapped.

"Can someone please tell me what's going on here?" Bonnie screeched glancing between us.

"I don't know what he told you but I assure you Jer it's not what you think" I said going to take a step toward him.

"Ah ah ah, just stay where you are" he said placing Bonnie behind him.

"For god sake Jer I'm you're friend, I'm not going to hurt you" I told him now raising my voice.

"Save it for someone who cares"

Ouch that hurt, like a freaking bitch.

"Please, just let me explain" I pleaded.

But before I could say anything else the front door suddenly burst open and I found myself being slammed against a wall with a hand wrapped round my throat. It didn't take me two seconds to figure out whom it was.

"Go ahead Cullen, I'm all ears" spoke a sinister looking Damon.

Aunt Rosalie if I survive this you owe me big time.

Author's Note: Looks like Renesmee's got problems, poor thing. Let's hope Elijah and Rosalie arrive in time to help.

Merry Christmas everyone!
