Chapter 9

NPOV

"Soooo, do I need to ask it? Or is anyone else thinking it too?" I asked.

"Thinking what?" Rosalie frowned.

"About why we were attacked last night. I know the wolves aren't exactly the most charming bunch, no offense" I said looking at Klaus.

"Non taken love" he shrugged.

"But that wasn't exactly your ordinary average fight with the enemy. That my friends was a war" I said.

"Well I did sort of piss them off by killing a few of their own" Rosalie informed us.

"No, no it was more than that. Last night wasn't just about settling a score. They were after something" Klaus said.

"But what?" Rebekah questioned.

"I think I know" I said, all eyes now on me.

"Go on" Rosalie said folding her arms over her chest.

"Well while I was at the Gilbert's last night a note was thrown through the window" I told them.

"What did it say?" Elijah asked.

"It said and I quote, 'the devil's bitch must die'."

"The devil's bitch must die?" said Rosalie raising an eyebrow.

"What the bloody hells that supposed to mean?" Rebekah asked.

"Well at first I thought it was something to do with Elena, again. But after that attack I kind of came to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, they were after me" I said.

"Renesmee..."

"You of all people can't deny it Aunt Rose. Things have always found a way to go wrong for us since the very start of my life. Wherever we go or whatever we do there's always someone or something chasing us or trying to kill us" I paused "Whether it be the Volturi, traditional vampires, wolves or witches it all comes back to one thing. Me. I'm the cause of it all, you don't have to hide it anymore" I assured her in a gentle manner.

"None of it is your fault. Everything that's happened to us has been based off the choice of others. You have nothing to be ashamed of Renesmee, and don't ever think so" Rosalie firmly spoke.

I sighed, "I wish I could believe that, I really do. But after 16 years of running for our lives I think it's only right that I take full responsibility and own up to the fact that none of this would be happening if weren't for my existence."

In the flash of a second Rosalie was in front of me and took me by the upper arms pulling me to my feet.

"Don't you say that, don't you dare speak such blasphemy. Renesmee you are the most beautiful thing to walk this earth. Your conceiving was a miracle. No human has ever been capable of giving birth to a crossbreed child of our kind…but your Mom did. She gave it her all to bring you into this world and I know she's gonna be so happy once she sees you" she said smiling at me.

I tilted my head to the side. "S-see's me?" I stuttered, "You mean...she's coming? She's really coming?"

Aunt Rosalie nodded with a gleam, "And your Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice too."

"How do you know this?" I asked tearing in happiness.

"I was gonna tell you last night before all hell broke loose. I ran into a...shall we say old friend, Seth Clearwater to be exact. He's a friend of your Mom's. He's a Shape Shifter who was once part of the pack back in Fork's, but he and his sister Leah rebelled when the pack turned ugly. There were a few complications that caused our family to lay low for a while but as soon as Alice found us in her visions they sent Seth and Leah ahead to let us know the news" Rosalie explained.

"I can't believe it. I'm finally gonna see my family again, for the first time ever" I grinned glancing between the three Originals who were smiling with me.

I could practically feel my heart doing summer salts. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or dance.

"No, but wait, what about the sun? They'll risk exposure" I said.

Rosalie shook her head, "It's all been taken care of" she assured me.

"What about Dad? Uncle Emmett? Grandma? And Grandpa?" I asked, "Are they coming too?"

I saw Rosalie wince at the mention of their names and knew immediately that she wasn't telling me something.

"Aunt Rose?"

She narrowed her gaze away from me and bit down on her wobbly bottom lip as tears begun to cloud her eyes.

"Aunt Rose what's wrong?" I asked feeling the fear grip my heart, "What is it?"

My Aunt then blinked a few times before she blew out a shaky breath.

"They er...they can't come. They... " Rosalie paused dropping her gaze to the floor, shaking her head as if to keep it together.

"What? Rosalie please tell me" I pleaded hearing my voice break.

That was when she lost it.

"Oh Nessie…I'm sorry" Rosalie sobbed placing a hand over her mouth, "I'm so so sorry."

I felt my own tears sting my eyes at the realization of what was to come next.

"No" I said shaking my head in denial, "No."

"T-they're..."

"Don't say it" I begged her, "Please don't say it."

"Nessie... "

"No!"

"They're gone" Rosalie cried.

"G-gone? They're gone?" I stuttered.

She nodded, "The Volturi killed them."

Those words said I didn't know what to do. To find out that four members of my family had last their lives to the enemy was too much. It felt like someone had just literally punched a hole through my chest knocking the air right out of me. I pinched my arm in hopes that this was just a bad dream and that I'd wake up with my entire family surrounding me. I wanted not for it to be true. I didn't want to accept that my Father, Uncle, Grandmother and Grandfather had been snatched away by deaths cruel hands before I'd had a chance to meet them.

As I felt Rosalie wrap her arms around me I tried desperately to pry myself away as the two of us fell to our knees.

"No, get off me. You're lying to me!" I shrieked.

"I'm sorry" Rosalie said keep a firm hold of me.

"No!" I shouted feeling myself weaken the more I put up a fight.

"I'm so sorry"

"NOOOOOOOO!" I screamed into her shoulder squeezing my eyes shut as tears streamed down my cheeks, "DAAAADDYYYY!"

As I sat there sobbing in my Aunt's arms all that could be heard was the sound of my heart shattering to a dozen pieces as the two of us mourned the loss of our family.

The family I had waited for. The family I'd loved and will always love. The family I had never gotten to know, and would now never know.

Author's Note: Sniff sniff. So there you have it. Edward. Emmett. Carlisle and Esme are dead. But Bella, Alice and Jasper still remain. They will be making their entrance in later chapters for the big reunion so get excited for that.

Also alot of you have been asking about the pairings in this and I am happy to announce that I have it worked out.
