Chapter 11

NPOV

I woke up later that evening to see that the sun was just about to set, and I was in bed. When did that happen? The last thing I remember was talking to Klaus downstairs before I blanked out. As I roll over I spot Rebekah perched on the chair in the corner of my room. She was on my laptop with one ear plug in.

"Are you looking at porn again?" I ask teasing her.

Rebekah chuckles taking her ear plug out. "You caught me." She says.

I giggle throwing the cover off me and climb out of bed. "What happened? How did I end up in bed?" I ask her.

"Niklaus," Rebekah says getting up to place the laptop on my chest of drawers. "You fell asleep, so Rosalie told him to put you to bed."

I blush at the thought of Klaus putting me to bed. "O-oh" I stutter.

"He even stayed with you." Rebekah adds.

"He did?" I ask, surprised.

Rebekah nods.

"You begged him not to leave you in your sleep." She says, smiling.

My face must look redder than a tomato because I sure as hell feel it burning. I couldn't believe I had embarrassed myself like that. Klaus must think that I'm some silly little girl, and I honestly wouldn't blame him if he did.

"Oh god. Tell me I didn't." I groan in misery.

"I'm afraid you did." Rebekah says chuckling.

I slam my head against the wall. "Perfect, I just enjoy acting like a needy little dweeb in front of my mate." I said.

"You weren't being needy. Your just at a vulnerable period right now." She says, softly.

And that's when reality set in again. I was just hoping it was all a horrific nightmare. But no, life was not that kind.

"Rebekah, what am I gonna do?" I ask her, feeling myself become emotional. "Everything's so screwed up. Part of my family's gone. My friends hate me. Damon's after me. And the Volturi won't stop until I'm dead. I can't take much more. What am I supposed to do?" I sob.

Rebekah immediately engulfs me in a comforting hug, rubbing circles along my back as I cry into her shoulder.

"Shhh, it's going to be ok Nessie. Niklaus has already devised a plan." She informs me.

"How so?" I ask.

"He has a witch and a warlock infiltrating the Volturi's walls. They've been spying on them for years and reporting back to my Brother."

All I could think was 'holy shit'. A witch and a warlock spying on the Volturi? They had guts.

"But won't they get caught?" I ask pulling back from the hug.

Rebekah shakes her head.

"No, they're professionals. According to Niklaus that is. He's known them for centuries." She says.

"So, what's the plan?" I ask her.

"Divide and conquer. From what I understand the Volturi's numbers have already fallen at the hands of the old King's, Vladimir and Stefan. They've managed to take out a good number of them so far, but the main power is the guard. Separate the King's from the guard and they don't stand a chance. The King's will then be torn apart about and brought to us to finish once and for all." Rebekah explained.

It might just be me but this plan seemed way too easy.

"I'm guessing that Vladimir and Stefan will have the pleasure of taring them to pieces?" I ask.

Rebekah nods.

"Undoubtedly, however they were given severe instructions not to kill them completely." She says.

I shuffle on the spot. "Still seems like an unfair fight to me. I mean three against two?" I said.

"Two against two." Rebekah corrects me. "Marcus won't fight. He's wanted his life to end for a long time since the loss of his mate, but Aro kept him alive by force. This would just give the peace he wants. Out of all of them he was the one I felt sorry for. Unlike Aro and Caius he actually had compassion and respect for human life." She says.

"Poor Marcus," I said instantly feeling bad for the man.

"I know, it's awful."

"Isn't there a way we could help him? Maybe Vladimir and Stefan could spare him. Let him start a new life without Aro's dark cloud hanging over his head." I suggest.

Rebekah shakes her head.

"I'm not so sure, after everything the Volturi did to them the pair will be too blind by revenge to consider sparing any of them." She says.

I sag my shoulders in defeat. "But I feel really bad. I don't want an innocent man to die." I said, sorrowfully.

"He won't."

I jump as a sudden third voice pipes up out of nowhere. I turn and see Klaus stood in the doorway of my bedroom with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Jesus! Don't creep up like that." I shriek putting a hand to my chest. "I didn't even hear you come in."

"Sorry about that Love." Klaus says chuckling to himself. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. And rest assured that Marcus will be given a chance to decide his path." He says.

"How do you know?" I ask him.

"Because I will ensure it." Klaus says.

I nod.

"Good, I'm glad." I said, feeling a little bit better.

"I see that my Sister has kindly filled you in on the details." He says coming over to join us.

"Yeah, she has." I said narrowing my eyes down to my feet.

However just then I feel Klaus gently tilt my chin up, so I met his eyes. "What is it Love?" He asks, softly.

"Are… Are you doing all of this for me?" I ask, hesitantly.

"You seem surprised." Klaus says frowning.

I shrug.

"It's just that you hardly know me, and I don't wanna see you get into trouble because of my fucked-up life." I said.

"Language!"

I hear my Aunt Rose shout from downstairs. "Sorry!" I call back.

"True, I hardly know you." Klaus says before taking my hands in his. "But I want to get to know you. I want to know all about you. Your hopes. Your dreams. Everything you want in life. All of it. And as for the Volturi, well they've had it coming for centuries now. They've forced my family's hand one too many times. I consider it a pleasure to rid the world of their futile lives." He says.

I blush at his honesty. For a big bad scary hybrid, he really was quite the romantic. He seemed to have this mysterious way of making all my fears and sorrows disappear. I didn't care what anyone said, to me Klaus Mikaelson was a misunderstood sweetheart.

Just then I noticed a stunned expression on his face. "Are you ok?" I ask him.

"W-what was that?" Klaus asks.

I knit my eyebrows at this. "What was what?"

"Just then I heard your voice in my head." He says.

And I suddenly remember that our hands were joined. Oh crap! He heard me! I quickly take my hands out of his and cover my face in embarrassment.

"Damn it. I forgot." I said mentally kicking myself.

"Forgot what?"

"Nessie can project her thoughts to others by touching them. That's why you could hear her in your head. It's her born talent." Rebekah informs him.

"Well, that truly is something." Klaus says looking impressed. "When I was talking to your Aunt before she forgot to mention that little detail." He says.

I shrug.

"It's nothing special." I said.

Klaus then cups my face in his hand. "Everything about you is extraordinary Anessa. And I will get you to believe it." He assures me, tenderly stroking my cheek with his thumb.

I smile feeling tears in my eyes as I move in to hug him. I rest my cheek above where his heart lay, closing my eyes as the musical beat soothes me. And as I feel Klaus's arms close around me, I again understand the meaning of the word tranquility.

Knock knock knock

I was brought out of my safe place by a sudden rapping at the front door. I could only hope it wasn't Stefan again because Aunt Rose would surely kill him this time round. I listen in hearing footsteps followed by the sound of the door opening.

"What are you doing here?" I hear Aunt Rose ferociously ask whoever it was.

"I just came to see Renesmee."

Elena? What the hell was she doing here?

"Well like I told Stefan, she doesn't want to see anybody. Especially not you." Aunt Rose points out.

"I heard about what happened last night, and I'm really sorry. None of that should have happened. Damon was way out of line." Elena says.

I scoff at that last bit. "Yeah, like you care bitch." I sneer making Rebekah and Klaus chuckle.

"Out of line? Is that all you can say? Do none of you understand the fact that he nearly killed her! My niece could have died last night and not one of you would have given a shit!" Aunt Rose yells.

"I know." Elena says.

"No! No, you don't know Elena. You haven't the first clue about Renesmee or what she's had to deal with. Because trust me if you did you would be on your knees in front of her right now begging for forgiveness." Aunt Rose states.

As funny as that would be, I didn't want that doppelganger bitch anywhere near me. Not unless she wanted her eyes scratched out.

"You won't really kill Damon, will you?" Elena asks.

My jaw drops upon hearing this. Seriously?! Was that all she came round here for? To ensure she doesn't lose her precious Damon?! That was the last damn straw. Now I was pissed off!

"Step back guys I'm gonna knock that bitches teeth out." I hiss storming out the room and heading straight down the stairs where I saw Elena stood on the porch.

"You!" I yell barging right past my Aunt, so I was facing off with Elena. "You have some fucking nerve coming here!"

"Renesmee, I just wanted to say that I'm s…"

Crack!

I didn't let her finish that sentence because just then I'd swung my hand back and smacked her across the face. From behind me I hear different intake of breaths. But I wasn't concentrating on that. This bitch in front of me was my main priority.

"Don't you dare. Don't you dare give me that bullshit! You are not sorry at all. You don't care about me. All you care about is Damon you selfish bitch!" I screamed, providing with her another slap that sent her tumbling to the ground this time.

No sooner had I done that Stefan suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was instantly at Elena's side.

"Enough!" Stefan growled at me in anger. "Elena's done nothing to you. You had no right harming her." He says.

I shake my head in disappointment to his behaviour. Elena really did have him on a hook. It was sad because I really had thought of Stefan as a big Brother. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but how could I when he was too blind by his love for her.

"She doesn't love you Stefan. Why are you protecting her? She's playing you and your Brother like a harp, just like Katherine did. It won't be long before she leaves you for Damon and you know it." I seethe at him.

"That's not true Stefan." Elena says caressing Stefan's cheek putting on the waterworks. "I love you. Only you."

But I roll my eyes seeing right through her act. "Oh puh-lease! Give the drama a rest for one day princess. You might fool your boyfriend and everyone else around you, but you don't fool me. Now both of you get your asses off my property before I finish what I started. And if any of you ever come near me or my Aunt again, I will not be responsible for what happens." I warned them meaning every word.

Stefan then helps Elena off the ground and as I watch the pair leave, I tell myself not to cry because I didn't want to show weakness at this point. Once they were out of sight I went back inside and fell straight into Klaus's open arms.

"Well done Anessa. That's my girl. You did amazing Love." He says sounding so proud as he runs a hand over my hair.

"Really?" I ask.

"Are you kidding? Nessie you were incredible. It was nice to finally see that doppelganger bitch get her comeuppance. I just wish I had a camera at the time." Rebekah says making me giggle.

"I shouldn't even encourage this but… How did it feel?" Aunt Rose asks surprising me.

I turn to her and sigh pretending to be upset at first before bursting into a grin. "It felt great." I said making them laugh. I look around and notice that Elijah was missing. "Where's Elijah?" I ask.

"He went out to… Shall we say, run some errands." Klaus says smirking.

"Care to elaborate on that?"

"He went to find Damon." Rebekah says with wicked smile on her face.

And that's when I remember our plan from last night. "Mm, payback time. This I gotta see" I said, smirking.
