If the Doctor Could Fly: Season 4

How would episodes or scenes change if the Doctor could fly? It's only a collection of short sections of episodes, but through all the seasons a cohesive storyline emerges as the Doctor discovers more and more about the power of flight. This takes almost encyclopedic knowledge of each episode to appreciate it to its fullest, but that kind of knowledge isn't necessary to enjoy it.

2. Chapter 2: Planet of the Ood

The Doctor ran around the Ood cargo room, trying to avoid the guards and look for Donna at the same time. "Donna! Where are you?" He realized he had lost the guards.

He heard a big mechanism moving. He realized what it was and looked up to see a giant metal claw above his head. His face slowly broke into a wide grin. He turned and ran and the claw chased him. He ran around the huge metal Ood containers. The claw lowered over the Doctor's head. He jumped into the air and flew out of its grasp as it crashed to the floor. He curved around, grinning, and flew toward the claw operation room. The operator in the window was shocked. The Doctor stuck out his tongue and wiggled his fingers by his face as he flew by the window.

The claw returned to action and chased him through the air. He swerved sideways, ducked under it, flew over it, and sometimes flew through it just to annoy the operator. He let himself have a lot of close calls, but the claw never caught him.

The claw started grabbing empty Ood containers and throwing them at him. He struggled to avoid them. He narrowly missed being crushed between one and the wall. He couldn't fly out of the way in time and one smashed him out of the air. It was going to crush him, but it crashed into other Ood containers and threw the Doctor to the ground. He slid on the floor. He grimaced in pain and looked up to see the claw above him, open wide. It plummeted toward him. He couldn't move out of the way in time.

The claw suddenly stopped right above him. Two guards appeared and pulled him to his feet. He was too exhausted and hurt to struggle against them as they dragged him to the exit.
