CHAPTER TWENTY: The Aftermath

Jax was absolutely devastated since Abel's kidnapping and no one had any idea where he could be. Not to mention, everyone was upset over Half Sack's death. Gemma had fled to Oregon and Tig was watching over her. No one told her of Abel's kidnapping and Jenna was told not to tell her and she knew it would be a price to pay when Gemma did find out. Jenna looked over the shop while the club looked for clues of Abel's location. Opie came to the office while Jenna was looking at the computer.

"We're going to get Jax." He told me. "We have some info."

Jenna hadn't seen her brother in days. Tara had told her that he had locked himself in Abel's room, drinking and getting high. She had empathy for him, and sympathy as well. She, herself, had lost a baby but she hadn't had one to be kidnapped. She knew how much Jax loved his son and she loved her nephew just as much. She just couldn't bare to see her brother in such a state and made a point not to go over to the house just yet.

"What kind of info?"

"I'll tell you when we have more." He said pulling her up out of her chair and wrapping his arms around her.

"If anyone can get Jax out of the house, it's you." She told her boyfriend. "He'll listen to you."

Opie nodded but said nothing.

"I talked to Gemma this morning."

"Oh yeah?"

"She's going crazy in that hotel."

"Gemma was never one to just sit around." He said looking down at her. "Like someone else I know."

"Yeah, but at the moment that's all I can do." She told him. "It's killing me too."

"I know." He said.

"C'mon!" Clay yelled from his place beside his bike.

"I'll call you." Opie said kissing her. "Chucky's here to watch out for you."

"Maybe you should just promote him to being my bodyguard." Jenna said sarcastically.

Opie shook his head as he headed across the lot over to his own bike.

Tara called once he left with the club and she went over. She headed over to her car after closing up the shop and headed over her car.

"No…" Chucky said. "Club told me not to let you leave without an escort."

"You can either let me leave or I'll shoot you and leave anyway." She told him. "Backoff."

"I'll accept that." He said backing away from the car.

"Just tell them I went over to check on Tara."

She went over and went inside and called for Tara. She walked down the hallway and seen Abel's room in a mess and she made her way into the kitchen. Tara was sitting at the table staring at the wall.

"Hey."

Tara blinked and looked up at her best friend.

"Did you do that to Abel's room?" She asked pouring herself a cup of coffee and sitting down next to her friend.

"Jax wants to end things between us." Tara told her. "He wants me to leave Charming and get away from him. I don't belong in this life."

"Jax is just hurting right now, Tar." Jenna said placing her hand on her friend's arm. "He's trying to push you away as a defense mechanism."

"I think he blames me." Tara said with a sigh. "For Half Sack's death and for Abel's kidnapping."

"That is not true." Jenna said shaking her head. "He doesn't blame him, if anything he's blaming himself for not being here and protecting his club and family."

Tara nodded and exhaled loudly.

"I talked to Hale. I told him everything I could."

"Did you tell Jax and the club?"

"Clay told me to tell Hale as much as I could but leave the association out of it." Tara said. "But that might help with finding Abel."

This time Jenna sighed.

"They have some info on Cameron's whereabouts." She informed her friend. "Just don't tell Hale or the sheriffs anything else yet until we know what the hell is going on."

Tara nodded.

"How are you?" She asked.

"I should be asking you the same question, Doc." Jenna joked.

Tara cracked a small smile.

"I mean with everything that went down with Agent Stahl at Edmonds."

"I'm completely fine." Jenna said with a shrug. "Although I wish I would have shot the bitch before she said she was going to blame Gemma for the shootings."

Everything and everyone was in a frenzy, and things were not getting any easier.

"How'd you get away from the shop?" Tara asked finally noticing no one else was in the house.

"I warned Chucky that if he didn't let me leave that I was going to shoot him."

Tara let out a small giggle and covered her face with her hands.

"Oh God." She said letting out another giggle.

"I've got to go down to the station and give the agents an interview about what happened."

Jenna nodded, finished her coffee and got up placing the cup in the sink.

"I'd say I'd go with you but I might end up in prison for what I will do to Stahl so…"

Tara nodded understanding exactly what she meant. Jenna hugged her friend and headed to pick out a black dress for Half Sack's funeral.

Later that night,

Everyone, except Gemma and Tig, was gathered at the local funeral home for Half's funeral. The guys were having a meeting with Kozik. Jenna hadn't seen him in years since he had moved up to the Tacoma chapter and she wondered if he was looking to jump chapters and end up back with SAMCRO.

Everything was going as well as it could, with everyone outside when a dark gray van came down the street and opened fire. Opie pushed me down on the ground and covered me. Unser shot at the van and guy fell out and Hale walked into the road and opened fire, the van struck him running him over. Bobby Elvis and Clay took their guns out and shot down the road at the van. Jenna looked in shock as Hale laid motionless in the middle of the road. I noticed that Chucky had been struck in the arm as well as a little boy. I ran up to see if I could stop the bleeding of the boy but it was bad, really bad. Jax jumped up and ran up to the man that had fell out of the van, who was being held at gunpoint by two sheriffs and began beating the guys head against the pavement. Bobby and Opie grabbed Jax off the man and pulled him away.
