Chapter 60: Epilogue
Wait, we're still going? One more chapter? Okay, sure, why not?
The day following the group of 8's long work day ended up, shocker, with everyone waking up at around 7:30 AM on average, with a couple peeps waking up either a couple minutes later or earlier, depending on their preferred style. Regardless, let's see what everyone is currently doing to begin their day.
Starting with Double D, he woke up to the usual time that he sets his alarm to, in order to set himself up accordingly for school in a timely and organized manner. Either way, he had gotten into his signature orange shirt/purple shorts/black beanie combo, and went downstairs to began making his breakfast to start his day and give himself energy as a whole to get started. After around 5 or so minutes, he finishes preparing his breakfast, and adding another 10 or so minutes after that, he grabs his school supplies and heads on over to the middle of the cul-de-sac to meet up with his friends.
Next up, with Ed, he had woken up much earlier, at 7 AM exactly, as he had decided to try something new for once. That being, making himself much more cleaned up and... let's say less distracting, smell wise. Double D will be in joy about this! Anyways, Ed spent around 20 minutes cleaning himself up throughly, and once he had dried himself up, he put on his same usual clothes... expect this time, he had thrown them in the washer once he got home yesterday, so they are all fresh and clean as they can be! Once Ed had finished up his dressing routine, he went upstairs to prepare himself a simple batch of cereal, finishing that up rather quick, and goes to the middle of the cul-de-sac to meet up with his friends, just like Double D.
Coming up next is Eddy, who woke up just a bit later than he planned, 7:35 AM to be exact. He didn't mind too much, as a 5 minute difference was going to make very little impact. Regardless, he was waking up feeling great about himself, seeing as everything seems to be all good and in order, from with his friends, and his new found relationship with Lee. The latter is something that he is glad to have occurred, seeing as she quit doing all that love crap when they were younger, and started acting more reasonable, he couldn't be more than happy about it. He still owes her the date he proposed to her, but it will come soon enough. Eddy puts these thoughts aside and begins his preparation for school, which isn't very long luckily, as it's only around a 20 minute or so setup. Either way, just like Double D and Ed, he goes to the middle to meet up with his other comrades.
Lastly, in terms of the lads, Chris woke up just a bit earlier, 7:20 AM. He decided to use that extra time to start his preparations, and put music on in the meanwhile. He had put on a shirt which had the cover of Van Halen's first album, "Van Halen I", along with black jeans, shoes, with a dark grey vest to go along with his shirt and everything. Once that was finished, he went downstairs to get himself some water, seeing as he wasn't hungry at all, and didn't want to eat unnecessarily. Seeing as it was already 7:55 AM surprisingly, he had gotten his backpack and everything else he needed, and off he went to meet with his friends!
However, on the ladies side of things, more specifically with the Kankers, all three of them woke up at 7:30 exactly, thanks to Lee making them for the most part. Although, all three were as excited as ever to meet up with the Eds, seeing as the two groups have basically become almost inseparable. The only times that they are really separated are when they have different classes, and other times where one side has something to do. Either way, all of them get dressed up in different styles, with Lee deciding to wear a sleeveless red shirt, with black jeans and white shoes. For Marie's side of things, she decided to keep her black sleeveless shirt, but decided to wear a cyan pair of jeans and red shoes, just to give herself a bit more "color", so to say. Lastly, May had gone with a purple shirt, with white shorts and light blue shoes, to keep her light colored appearance. Once all the girls were done with that, they all went downstairs to organize their supplies, and head out at 8 AM to school, skipping breakfast entirely.
Oh yeah, we can't forget about Skylar! On her side of things, she woke up at the same time as Chris, but didn't get out of bed until 10 minutes later. Either way, he decides to wear her standard dark attire, consisting of a black jacket, with a shirt of Judas Priest's "British Steel" album below it, and dark grey jeans and all black shoes. Seeing as she wasn't hungry at all, she decided to skip breakfast aswell, and instead organize her things for school. Once it's 8 AM, Freya tells her to follow her into the car, and so she drives Skylar to school at the same time as usual.
At school, the boys have arrived there first at 8:05 AM, taking and leaving certain resources and things into their lockers for school. While they are busy with that, Eddy proposes a question, saying, "When do you think they are coming?"
"I wouldn't imagine they're much farther from school, after all, keep in mind Eddy that the Kankers do live near us after all." responded Double D.
"Someone still has his knowledge!" yelled a voice that Double D recognized instantly.
Who could that have been? Well, Marie of course, who had a grin on her face, along with her sisters accompanying her along the way towards him and his friends. She goes on over to Double D, and kisses him, afterwards asking him, "How are you today?"
"Everything is going well thus far, Eddy was wondering where you three were, and I told him that you three shouldn't be that far now, and my prediction turned out to be correct." stated Double D, with Marie shooting a smile at him.
Over with Ed and May, the latter came up to the former and asked him, "Hi Ed! How are you?"
"Feeling good today May! Are you okay yourself?" responded Ed.
"Yeah, me and my sisters just got here. I'm happy to see you though!" stated May, before giving Ed a hug. He, of course, gives it back, to show that he is happy to see her aswell.
Next, with Eddy and Lee, the former decides to grin at the latter before saying to her, "Hey, how's it been going honey?"
"Ah, trying to give the charm already? I like that. It's going good my little man, glad to see ya." responded Lee, before she gave a kiss to Eddy, making the latter blush a bit.
Meanwhile, with Chris, he felt someone poke in him the back, and he already knew who that was. Yep, it's Skylar, who gives a quick hug before saying, "Morning to you love, how's it going?"
"Well... that's a way to say hello I suppose. I'm alright, just here with the lads, and their ladies just arrived, and... now you have aswell, haha." responded Chris.
Double D then tells everyone, "As much as we enjoy this reunion amongst ourselves, we unfortunately will have to split up soon due to classes starting."
"Ah whatever, we are all a single unit no matter what, right guys?" said Eddy, as he offered his hand out to form a collection of hands. Everyone else also placed their hands, before raising them, and sharing one rather large high five.
"You got that right Eddy, no matter what happens, everyone here has everyone's back!" stated Chris.
With that, everyone shares a laugh and a fist bump among each other, and all walk toward their respective classes to began the school day. You can put on "I Wanna Rock" from the last chapter aswell to close this ACTUAL final chapter for our long, long adventure. Regardless, with that, it officially wraps up the adventure of love, drama, and heavy metal!
Author's Note: The last chapter was the "last" one. Well, add that to the lists of statements that aged like milk, hahaha! This chapter was honestly more of an afterthought (I explain later), but I liked writing it nonetheless. But since I'm writing this, I figured I can use this space to announce 2 things.
Firstly, well, happy one year anniversary to Ten Seconds To Love in terms of being published on here! In celebration, I decided to write this chapter, but not just write this chapter, but also "remaster" the first 13 chapters of this story! What does that mean? Well, they are now with MANY improvements and changes, such as more dialogue, detail (which was lacking in MANY of the original versions), and several corrections to spelling, missing words, and weird placements. In hindsight, while I still can't discredit the original versions of those first 13 chapters, as you have to start from somewhere, not nowhere... I'm MUCH more proud of the new versions, as they fix many problems I felt those chapters had. Other than that, every chapter from 14 to this one remain the same.
I'll say this, I think the chapters that benefited a LOT from the "remastering", so to say, were the first 7. Not to say that the remaining 6 didn't, but man, I like the new versions of the first 7 a LOT better than their original brothers. Either way, I had fun fixing up what were basically "prototype" chapters in my opinion.
Secondly, I will have to take a break for a while, as I have some personal things to resolve. However, I will say, I believe that the sequel will be going into its development stage soon, as I have the template for what I plan for it. Regardless, before I can officially work on it, I must resolve things first, but when should you expect the sequel? Well, I plan to start work at the start of December, worse case scenario, later that same month. Either way, writing this was still fun, and I'm sure that the sequel will be equally, or heck, possibly even more fun!
Oh yeah, final thing before I leave, thank you for the reviews recently that have been left for this story! I always appreciate feedback, as it motivates me to improve something, or perhaps get out a chapter quicker. Either way, I'm glad with what was made here, and I hope to see you in the sequel.
