"You want me to join what now?" Renji asks, confused. Here he had been, minding his own business, when Izuru and Shuuhei had both approached him. They were both wearing sunglasses. Their shitagi and kosodes, rather than properly put on, were instead draped over their shoulders. All in all, it was a rather foolish look in his not-so humble opinion.
"The Men's Shinigami Association. MSA. Shinigami Men's Association. SMA. Whatever you want to call it," Shuuhei explains. Renji just lifts a brow in response.
"SMA? MSA? Sounds like a lot of kinky stuff if you ask me," he comments, earning a choking sound from Izuru as the blond flushes. He ignores him. "Also sounds a bit like a rip-off of the Women's Shinigami association, but for men. Is that what this is?"
"No!"
"Yes!"
The two responses come at the same time, with Shuuhei denying and Izuru confirming. Renji doesn't resist the urge to facepalm. "Why do you want me to join?"
"We need more influential members so that the WSA stops bullying us. Your captain denied us, but you are popular enough and known pretty well as well, so we thought you might work instead," Izuru responds mildly. Renji can't help but feel mildly offended.
"So I'm the second choice to Captain Kuchiki? No wonder he turned you guys dow-... Hey, waitaminute, is this why there was that sign on the door to the men's bathroom the other day?" Renji stares with wide eyes. Shuuhei hangs his head.
"Yeah. The WSA cut our budget again and took over the room that we were using for meetings to use as storage instead, so we had no choice but to use the bathroom as our meeting room. That's why we need you! So that they'll listen to us and respect us!" Shuuhei is very passionate, so far as Renji can tell. He shakes his head.
"Look, I appreciate the offer, but-"
He's cut off again as Izuru falls to his knees, and only stares as the blond bows to him, still on his knees.
"Please Renji, please. We need you! We need your help! You, with your popularity and your bankai! Everyone knows and respects you! Please!" Izuru is quite literally begging. Renji thought he'd never see the day, considering how proud Izuru is on a good day.
"Fine, fine. I'll come to a meeting and if I like it, I'll stick around. But no promises that I'll join for good, alright?" Renji is sure that he's going to regret this. He's very, very sure.
