Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

Chapter 115

Author's Note: Reviews make me happy. So, I wanted to get the girls to be friends with Beth and Summer and this idea came to me. Yeah I'm killing them all but hey, they are here now! Plus it gets into a little bit of there background. Plus, hehe yeah a little Summer jealousy about Joey. Also, don't worry, Jewel and baby are alright, I needed a reason to keep her in bed for the next chapter (it's Jewel's and Rick's anniversary next chapter.) I had spotting in my 12th week of pregnancy, they said it was common and just had to stay off my feet for a couple days. So don't worry, baby is fine LOL.

Author's Note 2: I was hospitalized on Thursday night running 105 fever and UTI. Just got out today. Sorry for the wait!

Twelve weeks after Governor's attack:

Beth and Summer's POV:

Summer and Beth looked up when they heard noise in outside there cell. "Who is it?" Beth asked.

"Just us, can we come in?" Allie asked as she came in with the others.

"Yeah, sure," Beth asked as she sat up in her cot. "Everythin' alright? You settling in alright?"

"Yeah, we were over here to see Zach since he moved over here, and we couldn't help to hear you two sing. You're both pretty good," Ellie commented. "Don't know if we've been properly introduced I know it's been three weeks but after the whole thing with Andy when we first got here…." she said. "I'm an Elizabeth too, common name right. Everyone calls me Ellie, this is Allie, Stacey and Taylor."

Summer nodded as she had met them the night they were stranded. "You guys sing?"

"The four of us and the eleven girls that survived the initial attack at the school, we were in Choir. Never knew being in a sound proof music room would save our life. Joy, she was our choir instructor, she opened the door to go get something…got pulled out into it. We locked the door real quick, didn't really know what happened til we ventured out and found the boys. Glad we did, otherwise we would have died in that room," Stacey said.

"You lost the rest of you?" Summer asked.

Allie nodded. "My older sister Jill was the first one bit. She went to load stuff into the first bus, she opened the back door, her back was to us, a Snapper came out of no where, got her before we could even get to her."

"That's when we found out head shots were the only thing to take those things down," Taylor said.

"We had a pretty good run, three weeks. Hard to believe that was a good run right?" Ellie said with a half hearted laugh. "We stopped at a campground, Ellie, Stacey and Zach went with Ronnie and Ridge to do a sweep. They told everyone to stay on the bus. Albert and Ethan convinced there girlfriends Maya and Zina to go make out in the woods."

"Oh bad idea," Summer said as she put her hand to her head and shook her head.

"Everyone else was sleeping, they didn't get a chance to stop them," Allie said.

"We heard Maya scream, we went out to the woods, they were surrounded, we had no choice but to leave them," Taylor said. "Ridge went into a hard ass mode then, if we wanted to behave like children, he was treating us like children until he could trust us."

"Started teaching us how to protect ourselves, Kyle still has that trouble, we swear he's near sighted. Damion is just…nervous. And none of us trust Andy, you can see why," Ellie said.

"Shame to, he's one of our best in weapons," Taylor said.

"I haven't seen Glenn be stay on anyone like he does with Andy," Beth said.

"That's usually Uncle Merle or Uncle Daryl, but yeah Glenn's taking it personally," Summer said. "One of you interested in Zach is that why you guys came down?" she asked them knowing Beth had a little crush going.

Ellie laughed. "No, actually Allie thinks Joey's cute," she teased her friend.

Summer shifted positions. "Yeah?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'm usually good at flirting, even put good smelling shampoo on, but he's pushed me off twice," Allie admitted. "He seeing anyone?"

Summer looked at her. "Not that I know of."

Stacey looked at the younger girl. "Oh my God, you're interested in him!"

Beth tried not to laugh. "And he's interested in her. They grew up together."

"Yeah and every ten years I punch him, he annoys me," Summer responded defensively.

"You're what sixteen?" Allie asked.

"I'll be seventeen in a couple days why?" Summer asked.

"Never had a boyfriend before," Ellie teased. "Oh we should definitely fix you up, do your hair, put make up on you, make him not be able to not make the first move."

Beth had to laugh. "Yeah, Summer would like him to stay alive. You have met her uncles? Merle and Daryl? And her step father Rick? He already gave him the talking too. Not to mention Carl, he may not look like much, but anyone messes with Summer he's going to take it personally."

"They can't be protective all the time, hell you may die tomorrow," Allie said.

"If you guys want to ask us something, ask. If you are just going to try to force me into something I'm uncomfortable with leave," Summer said as she got up and went to open the privacy gate. "Living in a apocalyptic world is bad enough, I aint succumbing to peer pressure. So I'm asking you again, do you have something to ask or are you leaving?" she asked.

"Guys, drop it," Taylor told them. "We heard you sing and wanted to know if you wanted to sing with us. It's kind of boring with the four of us."

"You guys know Chasing Twisters?" Stacey asked.

"Yeah, we know it," Summer said.

Taylor smiles as she tapped her hand on the desk as her and Allie started singing. "I was born with lightning in my heels Sewed a spur onto my ankle Bit a horse under the steel.
And I lost hope when I was still so young Had an angel on my shoulder
But the devil always won," they sung.

Ellie and Stacey joined in. " And oh, I lost all when I got here And I can feel you even now Breakin' horses in the sky I can taste you in my rage And in the sweat upon my brow," they sung.

Beth and Summer tapped there hands on there legs. "And I went home, Chasing twisters in the canyon My cathedral is the badlands Dust and devils on my conscience
Come back to me darlin'."

The six of them sung together. "So kiss me now This whiskey on my breath Feel the lives that I have taken What little soul that I have left. And oh, my god I'll take you to the grave
The only love I've ever known The only soul I've ever saved. And I went home,
Chasing twisters in the canyon My cathedral is the badlands Dust and devils on my conscience Come back to me darlin' And I've been waiting for so long now I can feel you in the hollow And every cloud on the horizon Come back to me darlin'."

Zach and Joey applauded from out side the cell having opened the privacy gate. "We have angels among us," Joey said as he smiled at Summer.

Allie grinned. "So Joey we were just talking about maybe putting make up on Summer for her birthday. Bet she'd look good."

Summer glared at her.

Joey looked at Allie. "Why screw up an already pretty face with all that gook?" he asked. "She don't need it."

Summer blushed. "Thank Joey."

"Just stating the truth, Princess," he told her.

"Yeah we go out on runs, I have to keep Allie away from the make up counter," Zach says.

"That's not practical stuff," Beth said.

"Or stuff that you need," Summer said.

"Thank you!" Zach said.

"Waist of space, and energy to get stuff," Joey added.

"Well it makes me feel pretty," Allie said.

"Sure the walkers' appreciate it," Joey told her.

"We should get going," Allie said. "Night it was fun."

The other three girls got up and followed her. Summer and Beth laughed.

Jewel ,Daryl, Mar's POV:

Jewel took a breath and walked to Mar and Daryl's cell. "Hey Mar you decent?"

"Yeah come on in," Mar said as she turned around.

"Hey can you walk to the infirmary with me?" Jewel asked.

Mar jumped up. "What's wrong? The baby?"

"Just spotting, I had the same thing with Summer, about the same time too. Just want to make sure," Jewel told her friend.

Mar nodded. "Alright, put your arm around me."

"I don't want to scare Rick or anyone," Jewel told her.

"Oh you think I'm not sending for them? No way no how," Mar said as she walked out the cell with her. "Carl, go get your dad. Daryl!"

"What's wrong?" Daryl said as he come up the stairs.

"Nothing, just spotting a little like with Summer," Jewel glared at Mar.

Daryl picked her up. "Sure it's nothing' but we're just going to make sure. Carl you and your dad meet us in the infirmary, get Summer too."

Jewel glared at Mar. "I really hate you right now."

"No you don't, you just hate attention. Get used to it," as they went to the infirmary. "Dr. S? Ronnie? Need you guys."

Ronnie turned around. "What happened? Put her on the bed."

"I spotted a little, had the same thing with my daughter Summer in the twelfth week," Jewel said.

"They put her on bed rest for a few days," Daryl said.

Ronnie nodded as she felt her stomach. "Mar get me the stethascoppe. Have you had any pains, discomfort?"

"No, just spotting and it wasn't much," Jewel reported. "I just have a lot of worry warts around me."

Ronnie laughed. "Better safe then sorry," as she tookd the stethascoppe. "This is going to be cold."

Mar looked over to the door as Rick, Carl, Summer, Maggie and Carol came in. "Couldn't keep them away?"

"We wanted to know what's going on," Maggie said.

Rick went over to her. "Hey, you arlight?"

Jewel nodded. "Just a little spotting."

"There….," Ronnie said. "I wish I had a heart rate Doppler, these things don't really pick up baby heart beats steady until fifteen to twenty weeks. Everyone be quiet," she insisted as she glanced at her watch and quietly counted to herself. "Baby sounds quite healthy, like I said can't get a constant steady count with this, baby moves I lose it."

"We'll keep an eye out for that heart rate thing, just give us a list of what you need," Maggie said.

"Alright, everyone out but Rick needs to wait outside. Need to check her cervix," Ronnie told the group.

Rick saw the hesitation in the group. He went over to Daryl. "Brother, I've got this. She's not doing it alone this time. As soon as this is done, I'll bring you all back in."

Mar touched his shoulder. "I'll be right here too, she'll be fine."

Daryl nodded as he led the group out.

Ronnie put on a glove. "This may hurt," she said

Rick kissed the top of her head as he squeezed her hand as Ronnie started to exam her. She smiled. "Everything's intact, just like you thought momma to be. I'm going to want you to stay in bed for a couple days. No walking up and down those stairs, good thing you have a bathroom up there," Ronnie said.

"What a shame Rick you got wait on her hand and foot," Mar teased.

Rick laughed. "Oh what a hardship, keeping my pregnant wife in bed for a couple days. I can think of worse things to be doing."

Jewel rolled her eyes. "I live with a bunch of comedians."

Ronnie laughed. "Alright, no walking up those stairs."

Mar smiled. "Daryl!"

"Yeah," he said as he came in.

"Need you to carry her up to the office," Mar said.

"Dad is she ok?" Carl asked.

"I'm fine Carl, just need to keep off my feet for a few days," Jewel said.

"Anything we can do to help?" Summer asked.

"We'll spend Christmas together," Rick told them. "Tomorrow, she's just going to rest. Summer you mind keeping Judy overnight?"

"Of course not, Beth and I love having her," Summer said.
