The room was now busy with talk and actions, all but one corner of course. The corner in which the three women entered from was the quietest as it had the two odd looking remainders still staring off into who knows what.
Phoenix wright and Felicia had just finished clearing one side of the room in order to establish a makeshift "leads" area where evidence could be placed for further analysis. While Felicia smiled whimsically between the two tickets, in an attempt to "spot the difference", phoenix was preoccupied with pinning pieces of evidence onto the wall, drawing red lines between them to examine their associations with one another. The skills he had, of course, picked up after studying criminal science and criminal justice in his college days.
Nova and Morrigan still remained besides each other, conversing in the booth. Their talks consisted of Nova's ambitions and his thoughts of grandeur, occasionally followed by the alluring moans of an impressed Morrigan, who appeared to be shifting ever so closer to Nova's side.
The young Chinese woman blew a quick sigh flipping the ward paper that had rested on the center of her face and into her top rimmed hat.
Deadpool was significantly tall compared to her, so she had to look up at him to speak to him, getting his attention was no easy task.
"Hey, hello!" She brought her arms out of her sleeves and tapped against Deadpool's arm.
Deadpool mumbled to himself for a couple of seconds and turned his head at the direction he felt the tap.
"Yeah what's up-… Oh, Hey!" Deadpool was pleased with Hsien-Ko's presence.
This sudden joyful tone in his voice planted a smile of relief on Hsien-Ko's face.
It was a relief to know she wasn't being purposely ignored by him considering it looked like he only noticed her friends, Morrigan and Felicia.
But that was fine. Knowing that she wasn't gonna be constantly harassed by another creep, strangely put her at ease, but she'd be lying if she didn't think it was odd. As a matter of fact, She knew of someone from her own world who was an especially huge creep to her, but also to other women he found attractive. So why not this guy? He seemed to be the type…
In another sense; however, she could understand why, I mean look at her group. Compared to her, there wasn't much to see. Well, besides the huge claws. But even so, who'd wanna see that? Plus her array of hidden weaponry that lay ready in her sleeves?
Apparently Deadpool.
Feeling a bit more confident, Hsien-Ko introduced herself.
"Hiya! My names Hsien-Ko! Nice to meet you! Are you also a super hero? Cause that whole outfit you have on makes ya' look like one! Oh, and those weapons you have on look really cool! I gotta see those awesome traps and bombs ya' got on you! They look so much different than mine!" She rambled on as she longingly stuck out her hand, and placed it in front of him hoping for a handshake in return.
Deadpool stared down on her face for what could've been minutes long. Hsien-Ko was perplexed at this sudden drop of optimism in his actions.
"Hey! Hu-... Oh sorry I never got your name. What is it?" She had a face of smiling embarrassment, unable to say his name.
Finally he moved his point of view onto her deep hazel eyes that seemed too yellow for an average person.
"Why hello there. Oh Sorry, I was too busy staring at your... Equipment" He spoke softly In a close whisper.
Hsien-Ko cocked her head at the Merc's unusual statement.
"Equipment? Oh, you mean my claws! Yeah, they stick out don't they hm? Ha, they carry all my weapons along other things so I gotta drag them with me wherever I go!"
Deadpool glared at her for a few seconds before realizing the meaning of his statement before was unknown to the girl. A few more seconds later, he realized what she had said and did take notice of her huge claws.
"Oh, whoa those look badass now that cha mention it! Oooooh, and they carry all your weapons!? You gotta show me all the nice pointy ones you have! Wait, Hold on! Check this out girl, These satchels here carry all my weapons and other stuff too!" He continued to speak as he began to throw out trinkets and other miscellaneous items out of his pouches, such as but not limited to: Sock monkeys, a rubber chicken, ninja stars, dynamite and a couple makeshift weapons as well.
"It's handy all right, but sometimes it gets cluttered since I can't seem to decide what I want to bring, so I just toss whatever in there!"
Hsien-Ko looked over his visible arsenal in excitement, tracking each item as they were tossed out. Possibly hoping to snatch one up if the opportunity ever presented itself.
"oooh cool, me too! I have A TON of junk in here that I just end up tossing out, maybe we could trade sometime! But only if ya show me yours first like I said in the beginning, alright? Besides that's not the only secret weapon I got! This seal here has my twin sis inside and she kinda keeps my powers controlled, so when this thing ever comes off, you'll be in trouble for sure! "
Deadpool stared closely at the seal she held, bending over and slowly leaning closer to Hsien-Ko's face.
He gazed at it with a confused fixed expression.
" No problem, I'll show you mine if you show me yours after! But one more thing before that... Your twin sister is in that thing! How the heck would you get her out of there?"
"NO!" Do not release me from this seal Hsien-Ko!"
"Huh?" Hsien-Ko jumped in surprise, hearing a disembodied voice ring in her ears.
It was her sister Mei-Ling. The one sealed inside that ward.
"Why not sis?"
Mei-ling sighed
"That man doesn't sound too bright to me Hsien-Ko, I don't want either of us to be around him for any longer than we have to, we've told him enough already and you don't even know his name yet."
Hsien-Ko's concerned face turned into a carefree smirk.
"Oh c'mon sis, who cares? don't you wanna meet him too. It's not like there's something wrong with him or anything. Ya' know, I think you're acting all grouchy just because I found someone cool to talk to while you haven't made any new friends yet! It's all because your stay cooped up in there and refuse to get out!"
"What?! Are you serious, Hsien-Ko? It's definitely not because of that! I'm in here because we could be in danger at any moment, so keeping your powers in control is my top priority!"
Hsien-Ko giggled and continued to tease her sister as Deadpool began to transfer his eyes from the ward to her eyes.
"Hehe-Oh, hey! Is something wrong?" Hsien-Ko tilted her head back to allow herself some head space.
The Merc rubbed his chin at her question, hesitating to answer.
"She's just like us guys. Whadda ya think happened to her? Weapon x-like factory from where she's from, huh? Nah, maybe not. I mean she does have the weird skin thing down but it's nothing like ours. Yeah, definitely."
Hsien-Ko was completely dumb founded at how Deadpool was nodding off to himself.
"Uh, who are you talking to? Me?"
Deadpool fixed his eyes back on her, making her feel cornered.
"Opps, did we interrupt you? We didn't want to bother you while you were talking to yourself. You looked pretty focused on that so I was just keeping myself occupied. That's all!"
Hsien-Ko stopped and thought for a moment.
"Taking to myself?" She thought.
What could he mean by that?
But then it got her.
"Oh! Ha ha. I wasn't talking to myself, I was taking to my sis, Mei-Ling. The one inside the seal on my hat. That's who. Though I don't blame ya', allot of people tell me the same thing and it annoys me plenty! That's for sure!"
Deadpool's mask wrinkled into a warm smile which formed his eyes into a arch.
"Oh, well my apologies my blue skinned gal. And no worries, I get that allot too. It's just that in my case, the people who call me out are my therapists who will one day sell the notes they took, to some schmancy fancy school of psychology in a futile attempt to understand!
Anyways…it's cool! We all have our moments where we come up with some imaginary friend to help us get through the ugly bits of life! Ain't no shame in it! So if that's your sister! That's your sister!"
Deadpool was sincere yet joyful in his tone. That assumption did truly resonate with him and his two voices that were very much a reality.
A harmless misunderstanding soon turned into genuine confusion as Hsien-Ko attempted to clarify her situation. "Huh? What are you talking about? That's really my sister, I didn't make her up."
Deadpool, remained empathetic. "wow! your imaginary friend really is that important to you, huh? I wish I had that type of connection with the schmucks in my head! They're more of the bossy slash idiot types... Eh what can you do, guess you won the imaginary lottery, huh? "
Hsien-Ko wasn't amused by his empathetic statement. Her sister was REAL and she WASN'T talking to herself.
She crossed her arms and stood up straight, eyeing Deadpool as hard as she could with an intense expression on her face.
"I am NOT talking to myself. I am talking to my sister. What's your excuse?"
Deadpool was now the one confused at her remark. Thinking he already explained his situation to her.
"Excuse? Watcha talking about girl? You mean my voices? You wanna know something about them? Age, sex, location? Which ones a top or bottom?"
Her demanding attitude soon turned into actual interest, but she was still irritated nonetheless from his assumption. "Well, I mean, do they have a body of their own? Do they get out once in a while or are you actually just crazy! Because my sister is real and I can take her out anytime I want! How do I know if you're actually talking to someone!?"
Deadpool became confused and a bit hurt by her sudden change of attitude. Deadpool had presumed all was going well and that, for the first time in a while, he just made a cute, spunky, new friend who could share his love for sharp pointy things, trinkets and witty banter. He was frozen in a standing, leaned back position with his arms folded up to his chest, hands open, facing the aggravated Hsien-Ko, who impatiently awaited an explanation.
Deadpool's confused puppy-dog eyes soon relaxed into a squint. He returned to a relaxed slouching position and moved his head towards the left side of Hsien-Ko's face, then her right.
He spoke with whimsical compassion, as if he truly wanted Hsien-Ko to actually understand him.
"Imagine that one side, left, of your face is a person, or your brain to be more specific. And now imagine the other side is as well. One is a fun loving idiot and the other is a know-it-all smarty pants. But you might ask, where the heck do you fit into that picture? Well I don't. I fit into the body, the entire body. These two Canucks inside my head make decisions for me and try to decide what's best for me... Although I still have a mind of my own. It's just that I prefer to think with my body and spirit. If it ain't fun, why bother, huh? These guys up here disagree, they have some weird goal to protect me, so they often keep me in control by telling me how to do things! It's a drag sometimes… but I guess it ain't so bad keeping them around… since no one else is. I mean the other option, is being all by myself! And that doesn't sound like a good time…"
Hsien-Ko's defensive stance began to drop, as did her arms, uncrossing them and dropping them back to her sides. She lowered her head with a conflicted face.
She sighed, then spoke back with empathy.
"I guess we both know how it feels to have someone nagging us about our decisions, huh? But we need them… because without them, we'd be lost, and worst of all… we'd be alone..."
Deadpool responded with the familiar vigor everyone had known him for. "Ha yessiree! Ya know, if you get to know me a little better and the voices in my head, your sister might just get to meet my Nagy voice, but since he ain't got a body, probably not..."
Hsien-Ko lifted her head back up towards Deadpool. She felt remorse for the outburst she displayed.
"Hehe… hey, sorry for calling ya crazy, I just got really mad when you wouldn't believe me…"
Deadpool nodded, refusing the apology he viewed as unnecessary.
"Don't sweat it! After being accused of talking to myself and being called a nutcase for the one thousandth time… I think I've built some sort of immunity from it. I mean, that's what my humors for! For hiding and protecting myself from my own insecurities!"
A dumbfounded Hsien-Ko stared at Deadpool for a second before flashing a warm smile on her face. She chuckled and expressed her gratitude.
"Hehe, You're such an idiot… but I know watcha mean… Thank you."
Deadpool rubbed the back of his head, unable to accept her gratitude "Eh, there ain't no need for that either. Someone's gotta keep the good times rolling, right? Not to mention that you're my new friend now, so I gotta make a good first impression, Ya' know! Plus, between you and me, I actually like you compared to my other so-called "friends". I mean look at them! Off chasing tail instead of hanging out with their bro! Oh the pain!"
Hsien-Ko blushed a bit.
"Friend? You like me? Oh, thanks! Haha... Friend."
Deadpool looked over Hsien-Ko's shoulder, back at the door where the girls had entered from.
"Look at that, we're still in the front of the dang train... How bout we both cozy up in a booth and I introduce you to the rest of the three amigos?"
Hsien-Ko gasped embarrassingly, realizing he was correct.
"Yeah we should probably do that..."
Deadpool turned around and stood for a while, spotting out a place they could rest, one of the train booths were occupied by Morrigan and Nova, However the seat opposite to them was clear.
"Heh, hope you don't mind sitting across buckethead over there! Talking about how great he is… which he isn't…" Deadpool smiled at Hsien-Ko with his witty comment.
"Heheh, don't worry about me, I don't mind as long as you don't mind Morrigan and her constant yapping about how she craves a fine soul! or how she's so irresistible! ha ha!"
Hsien-Ko and Deadpool both giggled silently to each other.
The two walked towards the booth, Hsien-Ko following Deadpool closely behind..
"I hope he doesn't mind my hopping so much." Hsien-Ko thought to herself. That hopping could be seen as annoying in many different ways.
"What if I slow him down?"
"What if the hopping gets too loud?"
"c'mon, hop faster!"
Insecurities once thought minor, soon began to take center stage in Hsien-Ko's mind. It was one of the first times she had ever had a connection with someone whom she could relate to on several levels. Deep down, she was afraid of doing anything to put a stop to her newfound friendship.
Deadpool and Hsien-Ko reached the booths edge, standing face front across Morrigan and Nova's side. Deadpool waved and spoke.
"Hey, Spaceman!"
