"This is actually pretty cool." She said as every meal she was craving for was lined up in front of her in midair, each item covered in a dark green luminescent barrier that no doubt the baby in her was doing. "Que bonito! He's helping mama with her cravings!" Demencia squealed as she grabbed a burrito and pizza slice, wolfing them both down and washing it down with a nearby shake.
Flug took down the notes of the sight, no doubt this information would come in handy somehow. 5.0.5 was happily cooking sweet treats nearby, in case the cravings demanded.
Black Hat was turning the corner from the hallway into the kitchen when he came across the sight.
"Do I even want to know?" He asked, rolling his eye. Flug jumped at the presence of his boss.
"Well...jefecito...it might come in handy." He admitted honestly. "But not now...if you have other matters to attend to." He said. Black Hat nodded, Demencia nodded in his direction, to which he surprisingly waved back. Albeit more out of courtesy than her excited one.
"I've a business trip to attend to. Some new client is showing great interest in being an investor. I'll go check out what it is they're made of. Flug, you're in charge." He said.
"Si jefazo!" Flug saluted.
"Y yo que?" Demencia asked, hands resting on her belly, looking at Black Hat expectantly. "Aren't you going to say bye?" She asked, a dopey smile on her face. Things have gone smoother between the two of them. So much so that he was intentionally putting distance between them two so as to regain a sense of seculiarity. Something he was failing at.
He sighed and approached her and placed his hand on her belly. Giving her a little rub. In any other occasion, Demencia would have squealed at the action, but for some reason, this was nice enough on its own to not have warranted such a reaction. They could both feel a bit of a kick.
"Ah...careful there, nene." She cooed. Black Hat's eye had opened up a bit more in surprise and a bit of happiness seeped through him. A sort of joy and pride at the growth of such a creature that was his.
"Eso sera todo." He exclaimed. "I'll be back shortly." He said, opening a black portal and walking through, disappearing into it. Demencia turned to Flug, a bit of her excitement showing.
"Viste? Did you see how he reacted to the kick?" She bit her lip eagerly. Flug chuckled.
"I did, it was nice." He said, going back to taking tests. "But I'm more surprised about this new client he's talking about. The schedule didn't say anything about that." He said, poking the end of his pin where his lips would be through his mask.
"If that were the case, wouldn't he be tearing you a new one because it slipped your mind or that you didn't know in the first place?" She asked, chewing on a slice of pizza topped with frosting. Flug gulped at the thought of what Demencia said. She'd be right, but for some reason this wasn't the case, thankfully.
"Maybe its something we shouldn't get involved with. If he's meeting with them personally, I'd say we don't press the issue." He said, going back to note taking.
"Yea, maybe you're right." She agreed, looking at all the foods that surrounded by them. "Don't you want some of these?" She munched through a sardine corn on the cob. Flug gagged in disgust.
"No thanks." He said.
Black Hat appeared in the office not too different from his. Chair's back facing the window of the highest point of the building. This was a more serious client. One that clearly didn't require the official services the organization, but his personal services. It was rare to have been summoned in such and old fashion. What the client must have sacrificed, done, gained, and lost in order to merely speak intrigued Black Hat. He looked around to see where the client was.
"Good, you're here." Said someone behind him. The figure was a hooded person, who's cloak reached all down to their feet, but the head portion was tightened by some invisible rope. The face bit was crossed off with black smudges. Not a Rorschach test, but more like it was simply marked hastily with a marker or paint. The figure walked over to Black Hat and pulled a chair. "Please, take my chair." He offered.
Good. He knows his place. If he dared offer me that wooden chair, I might have just killed him for it. Black Hat thought. The figure must have known that he was all powerful and knew better than to give him the position of client when in fact, it was the other way around. Taking the seat of power in front of the window, Black Hat got comfortable before getting down to business.
"What is it you most desire?" He asked, enjoying the sound of his own voice as every syllable he spoke poured pure, concentrated evil. The figure nodded.
"I wish to have the power to hold dominion over my enemies. With the capability to tear them asunder and have them beg for my mercy." The figure explained. Their gender wasn't given away by the sound of their voice, but that mattered little to Black Hat. He looked at the figure with understanding. "I don't care what it costs. My fortune. My soul. My being. My damnation. It must happen." They explained. This interested Black Hat. Usually those that have summoned him before had no idea what they were getting into and regretted it. However, the voice of this figure told him that it knew what it meant and was either willing to put up with the consequences or that their satisfaction would be enough to hold them over once the deal was done.
"I can grant you that power." Black Hat said, not interested in knowing who their enemy was. "But what else can you offer me? You must understand that merely summoning me must leave you destitute. I own an immeasurable number of souls, what's just yours to add to the collection?" Black Hat asked, this was the point where if they failed to answer him, he'd outright eat them alive bit by bit.
"I can give you my future children as a sacrifice." He exclaimed. "And do every evil thing you wish upon them." He mentioned. The prospect of sacrificing his kin satisfying him. Nothing was crueler than a parent leading their child to the slaughter.
"Deal." Black Hat said, his hand glowing a dark red outline. Extending it so that they could seal the deal. The figure nodded and took out their gloved hand to shake it. With the deal made, Black Hat pull the figure close. "We'll be in touch." Before disappearing.
The figure stood silent in the room. Before they turned on the lights and revealed that every corner of the once darkly lit room had cameras, the floor littered with eviscerated bodies of people of every age. Some in the bodies maimed in different ways. Some appearing to have died easier than others, but by no means quickly. The window itself was actually a one way holographic mirror with onlookers secretly on the otherside.
"Did you get everything." The figure asked, voice trembling, their facade giving way to anxiousness and fear.
"We got it all agent." A voice said on the other side.
"Thank goodness." The figure said, moving to sit down, sighing and letting out sobs of torment, pain, and madness.
"At ease agent." The voice said. "We'll take it from here." They said as the figure was taken away from the room, which was promptly incinerated.
