It was a relatively normal morning for our favorite villains. They had gone about their starting routine, taking care of their responsibilities to get ready. Breakfast going relatively smooth.
"I will be meeting with a potential investor to finalize the details of a deal we've made." Black Hat announced. "I should be back later today."
"Anything I can make to sweeten the deal, jefe?" Flug asked, eager to show off newer devices for sale.
"That won't be necessary. I need you here today." Black Hat said. "But it is appreciated." He said, much to the doctors' delight. "Y tu, Demencia?" He asked the mother of his child, who was feeding their daughter.
"I got an order for getting rid of an up and coming hero. Shouldn't take that long." She smiled, kissing Mascara in the forehead. "Should be back in time for watching Thundercats Roar, mijita." She cooed. Black Hat rolled his eye. He truly despised that drivel that was being exposed to his daughter. But he figured it was a cartoon for children and it couldn't be helped.
"Good. I'll be on my way then." He said, standing up and summoning a portal.
"Wait." Demencia said as she stood up with Mascara in her arms. "Forgot something?" Demencia asked. She'd been urging Black Hat to be more affectionate towards Mascara. She knew he cared for her, but didn't show it often. He sighed and patted the top of her head, earning a very adorable giggle from her. "Perfect." Demencia said, before looking back at her boss and stroking his cheek, surprisingly. "Good luck." She said with a smile before going off to get a couple things done.
Black Hat was taken aback by the affectionate gesture. It was soft...softer than her remembered. Now that he thought about it, he and Demencia hadn't interacted much these last couple of months. Perhaps he'd see to change that.
"Que fue eso, jefazo?" Flug asked. Black Hat frowned and flicked his wrist, causing the doctors remaining breakfast to spill onto his everything.
"Remember your place, doctor." Black Hat said as she stepped into the portal.
"Yes, sir." Flug said to no one, sighing. 5.0.5. all to eager to clean the mess with his tongue in a loving manner. "Gracias, pachito." He said in a baby voice.
Black Hat appeared on the other side of the portal. He was meeting with the client to finalize their service. The previous time, he tied his soul to his very being. Though he couldn't sense where they were at all times, he could do with their body as he pleased. Today however, he would give them the power they wished to destroy their enemies.
In old deals like this, it was a simple matter of him passing him the bare minimum of an ability to deal with their enemy. The beauty of these deals was he could be cheap and simply hand them a gun, or make them impervious to damage from anyone associated with their enemy. Or if their enemy was a hero, either a power of their own to take them down.
"You're here." They appeared once more. "Thank you for your presence." They said, bowing down in front of him.
"It's my pleasure." Said Black Hat as he took his seat like last time. "So, today we will finalize your deal. Once you accept the abilities I pass on to you, you will have the power to have your enemies submit to you. It is up to you how you want to destroy them. But remember, your soul is mine to do as I wish. As well as your future children. Understood?" The figure looked at him. This smiling man, this abomination.
"I understand." Their voice was somber, and a bit hunched. "Before the exchange of powers, however, I would like to discuss a couple things regarding my enemies." They said. Taking a seat across from him.
"I see." Black Hat's eyebrows dipped ever so slightly. He should have figured they'd be specific. People just weren't gullible anymore. Oh well, he thought. Either way, he'd win. "Well, make it quick." He said.
"Thank you, Lord Black Hat." They bowed forward again. "You see, my enemies are a peculiar bunch. For they are unlike any enemies of your previous clients might have dealt with." They explained.
Demencia was dropped off in the thick jungles of Central America, she'd taken one of Flug's ships, with his permission. Her mission was to do away with some hero with the powers of a rabbit. What a stupid power. She thought, this would be a piece of cake. Perhaps she'd take the heroe's lucky rabbit's foot back for Mascara. She usually went in headfirst and caused a ruckus to draw them out. It's never failed her before.
She began to destroy the ambiance, tearing trees by the roots and throwing them around. It usually wouldn't take long for them to appear, and just like that, they did. Their outfit was stupid as she figured. They had a grey suit fitted to the body, with a rabbit helmet. Ears and everything. Funny thing that they appeared from underneath.
"Te vez pendejo, conejo." She rhymed as she got in a fighting stance. Her target appeared to have prepared to fight as well. That was until they bolted for in some direction. "Que?!" She exclaimed, and quickly gave chase to the hero. "Get back here!"
Flug smiled as he fed Mascara, who sat on 5.0.5's belly. He then got a call on phone bot, who its way over to him. He handed the food over to the bear before he answered the phone.
"Black Hat Organization, this is Dr. Flug, how may we be of assistance." He asked.
"Hello, yes, I've been meaning to get a subscription for your services for some time now, but don't really know what I'm getting into, I would like more information on that if you had the time." The other voice asked. Innocent and formal. Oh yea, Flug was going to swindle this sucker for everything they had.
"Of course Black Hat organization has a selection of great services and packages for all sorts of villains." He exclaimed. Unbeknownst to him, on the other end that the call was being monitored.
"You see, my enemies are more than just your average grudge. No simple weapon, or fortune will be enough to bring them down." They exclaimed as they poured a glass of type AB for Black Hat.
"You don't say." He said, intrigued. Thus far, he was impressed with this person. No fool were they, and they certainly treated him with the respect he deserved.
"Quite. They are an organized sort. The type of power I need is something enough to destroy entire galaxies." They admitted.
"Ah, so something like the Hat-Star." He suggested.
"No, not a machine. I need that power myself." They said. "You see, it is not conquest I'm after, but complete annihilation. Search and Destroy, Salt the Earth, and Pull out the Roots and Stems." They explained. Showing a bit of passion in their voice. "The only thing I want to do is to tear them down."
"Interesting." Black Hat thought it over. He smirked. Whatever they had planned he was sure he wanted to be apart of. "I can do that. Of course, such ruthlessness will be dealt to your child upon this ordeal being over." This was not a matter of it being a condition, this would happen regardless.
"I know." They said without hesitation. Holding their hands out, ready to finalize the deal. "So, all my riches, property soul and future child are yours in exchange for the powers of a Cosmic being?" They asked. Black Hat was surprised that this is where it lead. Sure he had that kind of power to pass to anyone. But it was a great deal. Perhaps their quarrel had something to do with an empire off in the distant universe. Or another being of cosmic proportion. Something did not sit right with him, but his desire to spread chaos with such an intriguing client had won out.
"It is a deal." He said and shook their hands. The power of a portion of the universe coarsed through them, it felt heavy, light, cold, hot, timeless, brief empty and filling. Their robes expelled a singed smoke as the deal was made. Black Hat stepped back. It was done. "There. You have the power to practically kill gods if you so wished." He smirked.
"Good." They took a moment to feel their own body, and knew that it felt different. They then extended their arm and an invisible force struck Black Hat unexpectedly. Hard enough that it sent him flying out of the window of their tower in into what looked like an mountainous farm. He landed on his back, the force was like an imploding star being shot at him. He coughed up a bit of blood, wiping it off with his gloved hand. He stood up, and looked at the approaching client.
"You insolent worm." Black Hat said as he got ready to kill this piece of shit.
Demencia caught up with the rabbit, chasing it outside of the jungle and to an open plateau, where out of nowhere, a shot came from behind hit her. A sniper bullet had pierced her back, and out her ribs.
"Fuck!" She coughed up blood and looked back at the jungle where she noticed the gleam of a scope somewhere in the trees. "Maldit-!" She then got drop kicked by the rabbit from behind. She quickly got up, and went to strike him, when suddenly a Samurai dressed hero appeared and drew her sword against her neck. Demencia just had enough time to jump out of the way, but got nipped in the shoulder instead. She frowned, knowing she got surrounded. She jumped a couple feet back, but got surprised uppercut by some other hero in a boxer getup.
"How many heroes did you kill?" The boxer asked, it felt very personal. She quickly got up, dodging a sniper round in time, only to be struck with lighting. Another hero, a electric based one.
"Fuck...cuantos de ustedes hay?" She frowned, before she making a run for it, only to be caught up by some speedster type, who grabbed her from behind and threw her at the center of their circle, landing a couple dozen punches in the blink of her eyes. "Is that it?" She asked, looking around. It seemed to be. She got in a fighting stance, there was no way out of this, except to win. Fuck fuck fuck. She rushed at the boxer, only for her to be dug into the earth from underneath. The damn rabbit. The boxer jumping high up and elbow slamming down on her. A dumbass brute with above average strength. "Who are you?" She asked, as she rolled out from the ground. Her healing factor doing away with her wounds.
"We're your Ragnarok." Said the lightning hero.
"Shit...that was good." She spat out blood.
"So which deal would you like?" Asked Flug, as he finished explaining his information to the potential client.
"They all sound tempting." Said the client, but on their end, they got a go ahead from their higher ups. "In fact. I'm on my way to collect something." They revealed.
"Excuse me?" Flug asked in worried voice as the line went dead.
"See you soon." The other end said. Flug was worried. He knew he didn't reveal the location of the island. It was hidden from the rest of the world. But then he realized something else. The call hadn't ended, but rather...the signal in general was gone. What was going on? He quickly rushed out of the house, only to see that there was practically an invading force on the horizon from where he could see at the top of the island. And from all directions it seemed and in all ways. From sea and air. He quickly rushed down the stairs, to turn on all defense systems, only to find out that the main power was gone.
"No no no no no!" He rushed over to a different to quickly activate the back up generator. Thankfully that still worked, but it did not have the power to run all the defense systems. So he quickly made sure to engage whatever systems he could. Activating anti-aircraft systems and as many Hat-Sentinels as he could muster. He even had one of them wake up Lil Jack.
"Vamos!" He shouted at the bear, who held a panicking Mascara. Soon, he could see that they were carpet bombing the streets outside. Mercenaries in all black with heavy weapons engaged with the Sentinels. The carriers in the distance shooting at Lil Jack whenever he appeared. Flug grabbed whatever weapons he could
"You're going to lose." They figure said. Black Hat, collected himself and shot at their head with his heat vision. Growling when the head grew back. "You gave me the power to survive and destroy my enemies, remember. Until it is done." They said.
"I could stop the contract at any time if I so wished." Black Hat reminded. "I could strip you of all your power and make you my bitch in more ways than one." He threatened.
"You could. I don't doubt for a second you can." They said, their hood coming off to reveal no one he knew. "I am no one." They revealed. "But I am everyone who has been on your end of pain." They said. "I am salvation, and your end." They said with confidence. "But you will know pain before then." They said.
Black Hat was not going to entertain this idiot. He quickly did away with them. Evaporating every bit of their atom. No words, no effort, no hesitation. He dusted himself off, ready to leave, only to look back at the spot he destroyed them in and found them again...two of them now.
"The deal extends to the same soul. That includes the clones and copies we have of us." They said in unison. "You can strip us of ours, but we will have infinitely more every time." They said. He growled like a madman and pounced on them both, tearing them apart limb from limb, only to be met with silence. He turned around and three more appeared, then four, then five, until he was surrounded. He looked around with frustration. He began to rip the contract to pieces, but with the godly powers he granted them, they were able to keep it together, or just renew it themselves.
"Suficiente!" He said as he telekinetically forced them into a grinding mass of meat and viscera, cooking them and devouring them. It did not work.
"Like I said. You're going to lose." One more copy appeared, before lighting him ablaze with the power of the sun.
