I slowly opened my eyes to find I was laying on a soft bed in a dimly lit room. The small fireplace gave a warm glow over the mostly dark room. I started to sit up and gasped when I felt a sharp pain shoot through my neck and head. My head was hurting worse than my neck at the time.

"Try not to move around so much", a rough voice came from the darkest part of the room. Judging by how things were going I was starting to wonder if I had dreamed Godric and Eric coming to save me, until Eric walked out of the shadow and sat beside me on the bed.

"What happened? I remember you and Godric saving me and then nothing." I said feeling my head pound loudly

"Vince will never hurt you again, I promise you that. But there was an unforeseen accident" he said, making me turn my head to the side so he could get a better look at the wound on my neck.

"Just tell me, Eric", I said, feeling my gut twist into knots.

"You were attacked and bitten by a werewolf. Normally this would not be an issue, but because of what you are this has made things worse" I gave him a worried look and bit my lip.

'When did he find out what I am? I thought no one knew!' I said in despair, still looking intently at him. "Damn it, Eric, just tell me!" I snapped. Then I felt a rush of air around us and in an instant Godric was standing tall beside him.

"You are a chosen. This means that you were meant to be the mate of a vampire. However, as you have been bitten by a wolf, you need to mate a strong enough vampire by the next full moon, otherwise you will change into a monster and die", Eric said with sadness in his eyes. I felt my chest start to hurt and it felt like the walls were starting to cave in.

"What! No! I mean, I have powers but you have always said I smelled human, Eric! And the next full moon is in two nights! How am I gonna find a strong vampire in that time!" I said, full on panicking.

"Vince had a lot to say to try and save his own ass. And there are only a few I would even trust you with, and that is just me and Godric, and I am not able to", Eric said with a clenched jaw. I looked to him and then to Godric.

I knew I had some type of feelings for Godric and I was sure that the weird dreams I had were because of his blood. But I was not even sure if he would want to do this. I mean, we have only just known each other a few days and now we have to be mates or I'm gonna die. It's a lot to expect from him.

"I promised I would keep you safe, little one. Trust us, this is the only way", Godric said for the first time since he entered the room, making my heart race and making my body feel funny inside. I knew I should be putting up way more of a fight, but with how he looked and how I felt, being mated to Godric might not be such a bad thing.

"Okay! Before I say yes to anything I need to know more. Eric, you never really told me much about mates and since I'm this chosen thing or whatever what does all this mean?" I asked, knowing I most likely would not get all the answers I wanted, but something is better than nothing. I was also guessing that this mate thing was for life, and since vampires are immortal I had no clue what that meant for me. And it was the not knowing that was scaring me a lot at the moment.

I heard Eric growl something and then Godric sighed before they changed spots.

"Godric will answer all your questions. I have something to take care of, I will be back before the sun rises", Eric said leaning down to gently kiss my forehead, then he was gone leaving me and Godric alone.

"Okay then, I guess you have the answers?" I asked with a small smile.

"Not all, but I will do everything in my power to find out what I do not. I will make sure you are safe always" he said stroking my face and I leaned my head into his cool hand. When he stroked my chin I looked up at him and found our faces very close. I could smell him, the smell of woods and something that just screamed DRAK. But I was not afraid. I somehow trusted him fully. I wanted to lean up just a little bit and place my lips on his but something held me back.

"Lynx, you are my mate. I have always had this feeling about you since I first met you, but I thought it was just a myth. As for you being a chosen form, what I have heard is that every two hundred years a Chosen is born no one knows much about them. As far as I know, there were no other living Chosens until you." Godric explained this while stroking my face. I felt hot sparks in my skin where he touched me and I was starting to want more.

"Okay, so what happens with this whole mate thing? And how do you claim me?" I asked.

"A vampire's ultimate meaning for everything comes with a mate. Without a mate after a while the vampire will no longer wish to go on living'', he said, pulling himself away from me at the last part, making my heart hurt.

"You mean the true death?" I asked, my voice no higher than a whisper.

"Yes Lynx, the true death" he said before standing up and walking to the window. He had his back to me and even though the light was dim I could see how tense he was.

"Godric? Can I ask you something?" I asked, biting my lip.

"Of course" he said, turning to me.

"Why did you go to the Fellowship of the Sun?" I asked, hoping his answer was better than what I was thinking.

"I wanted it to end, I wanted to finally stop being alone" he said from his spot.

I shot up out of the bed and rushed over to him, throwing my arms around him and holding him tightly to me.

"Don't you do that! Don't you ever do that again! I'm here! You're not alone!" I rushed, making him look at me. He smiled softly.

"I believe you had more questions, little one". I bit my lip and nodded.

"I do", I said.

"To claim you we would have to sleep together. Right as we are both climaxing, I bite into your neck and you on mine. It's why your teeth have always been a little sharper than normal humans. It will make a bond between us. You will have my lifespan and we will be able to communicate through our minds and we will always be able to find each other". I took in everything he told me, my head was spinning with every piece of information.

"When do we do this?" I asked, looking him in the eyes.

"The sun will rise soon so it won't be this night but it will be before the full moon. I will not lose you", he said, stroking my face. Our bodies were so close, he felt cool and hard but yet I felt so safe with him. Without thinking, I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his and then jumped back when I realized what I had done. But before I could move too far, Godric grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled my face back to his, crashing our mouths together, making me moan and my hands go around his back pulling him closer to me.

Godric's hands were all over me. And I was loving every minute of it. My hands went into his black hair pulling a little and making him growl. By the time Godric let my mouth go I was breathing hard and panting.

"I may not get to have you now, but I will soon and I will enjoy exploring every inch of you", he said before vamping out of the room, leaving me to my thoughts just as the sun rose.
