Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This
Chapter 139
Author's Note: The next couple chapters are going to be everybody during recovery. This chapter is mostly Rick and Jewel, I mean my babies have been separated (and with that darn Governor coming who knows what will happen! Wink Wink) Plus Rick needs to talk with Jewel about Carol before telling Axel and Daryl. That's just how it goes! A bit of smut in this chapter. Please review.
"And when one of them meets the other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of your or a love of another sort, the pair are lost in amazement of love, and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of others site, as I may say not even for a moment-Plato"
Rick had taken a shower and checked on Judith and Beth. Judith was sound asleep and Beth had told him she'd bring her down in the morning. He stopped at the door of the room where Jewel was and listened as he heard her and Michonne laugh over something. He smiled as he knocked on the door. "Is it alright if I come in?"
Michonne got up out of the cot and opened the door. "Don't know, I think Jewel is used to my company now Rick," she teased.
Jewel got up out of the cot. "It's over? Quarantine's over?" she asked as she went over and kissed him.
Michonne shook her head and laughed. "Could have let the man answer first."
Rick smiled. "Yeah, they got back a few hours ago," he said as he hugged Michonne. "Thank you."
"Anything for family Rick. You need me to do anything?" Michonne asked as she picked up her bag.
"They'll need help with the bodies tomorrow," Rick said as he kissed Jewel again.
"No problem, right now I'm going to just go take a walk, get out of this room," Michonne said as she left.
"Want to go up to our room?" Rick asked as he kissed Jewel.
"Yeah, thought you'd never ask. Should we get Judy?" Jewel asked as Rick walked over and got her bag.
"Beth said she'd bring her over in the morning. Not that I didn't miss her, but boy do I want to spend time alone with you," Rick said as he kissed her ear.
"How is everyone? Sasha? Glenn? Mar? Mitch? Ronnie? Carl? Summer? Carol? Merle? Everyone?" she asked.
Rick kissed her. "Need to talk to you about a couple things, but not here. They got back with the medicine just in time to help Glenn. How are you? The baby?" he asked as they made it to there room. He opened up the door and let her in, and closed it. He quickly grabbed her and turned her around against the door. "God I missed you," he said as he ran his hand down her sides. "Not being able to see you," he said as he kissed her. "Not being able to touch you," he told her in between kisses as he took off her shirt. "Not being able to look into those beautiful eyes, to take strength from you, to know that I'm doing the right thing," he told her as he kissed her neck. "You are the part of me that keeps me rationale, gives me strength when I can't keep going. Doing this without you, it's not something I want to do again," he told her as he kissed her again. "I did ask how you and the baby were doing didn't I?" he chuckled.
Jewel laughed as she leaned her forehead on his. "We're alright. It killed me too, knowing that I could be helping with everything. Knowing that I wasn't there when you needed me," she said as she ran her hand down his arms. "Your hand? That's from Tyreese?" she asked as she kissed it.
"Yes," he answered as he kissed her.
Jewel gave a small smile. "Come on, we can talk in bed. Believe it or not, Michonne isn't big on cuddling," she said with a grin.
Rick grinned as he kissed her. "Now, there's a whole lot more then talkin' that I would like to do in bed Mrs. Grimes."
"We will, Mr. Grimes, but first talkin'," Jewel said as she kissed his shoulder as she took off his shirt. "I felt totally useless being up here while the rest of you were right in the fire," she told him as she laid her head down on his chest.
"Well, if you figure out how I can be an incubator for baby Grimes, I'll be glad to let you handle something' like this the next time," Rick teased as he ran his hand down her bare back. "Carol was the one who killed Karen and Ridge," he told her.
"Carol?" Jewel asked as she kissed his chest. "Are you sure?"
"She didn't hide it, I asked, she answered. Summer and I went on a run, we took Carol. I had to get her out of the prison, watch her, listen to her," Rick said as he ran his hand to her stomach. "We're in trouble if this baby's a girl, and gets your stubbornness. I swear Summer is turning into a shorter version of you."
Jewel kissed his shoulder. "We're in trouble anyway, this baby is a Grimes and Dixon, both stubborn. So let me guess, my daughter insisted on going with you. Saying that we don't do anything alone anymore," Jewel said.
"Our daughter gave me that Dixon glare as to say 'I dare you to argue with me," Rick answered with a slight chuckle. "I knew I should have argued with her, but the truth was she needed to hear what Carol had to say maybe more then I did," he said as he kissed the top of her head.
"Carol…she didn't come back with the two of you did she?" Jewel asked him as she lifted her head to look at him.
Rick shook his head as he touched her face. "I'm not sure if I could have left her out there if I was alone. But I saw Summer's face, the fear in her eyes, the sound of her voice when she asked if it had been you coughing, what Carol would have done. She said she didn't know if she wouldn't have done the same thing, and that's when I knew she couldn't come back. That's when I knew that Carol would do anything in her power to keep everyone else safe, even if it means killin' the livin', and I couldn't have her around you, Carl, Summer, Judith," he said as he kissed her shoulder then down to her chest. "I couldn't take that risk. Call me selfish, but I just couldn't," he said softly as he looked at her.
Jewel put both of her hands on either side of his face. "Rick Grimes, I have no reason to doubt that you did what you thought was best for the safety of your family, the safety of everyone here. I'm not sure if I could have done it, but I'm glad that Summer was with you and you didn't have to make that decision on your own."
Rick bent his head down and put his forehead on hers. "She's strong, she'll survive."
Jewel kissed him. "It's Carol, she'll be alright. Have you told Axel or Daryl? Have you told Tyreese or Ronnie that she did it?"
Rick shook his head. "I just wanted to see you. I needed to see you. They needed to get the supplies up to the sick. I plan to do it in the morning, then I'll talk to Tyreese and Ronnie. I don't even know what I'm going to tell them. I don't even know how Ronnie's dealin' with this whole thing. I hadn't got the chance to even talk with her," he told his wife.
"She was a little busy trying to save lives, and you were busy trying to keep Walkers' from getting into the prison. You are a good man Rick Grimes, an amazing, handsome, strong man. I have no doubt that you did what you thought was best for all of us here, not just your family. What about Lizzie and Mika? We aren't going to just turn them out are we?" Jewel asked.
Rick shook his head. "Of course not. You know how Summer always have been with the kids of the group, she'll probably take on more responsibility for them. God Mrs. Grimes, I missed you."
Jewel smiled. "Yeah? You gonna show me how much Mr. Grimes?"
"Oh I thought you'd never ask, Mrs. Grimes," Rick answered as he kissed her again.
