Rachel awoke with a start the following morning before racing to the bathroom to be sick. Finn hurriedly followed behind her, gently rubbing her back and holding back her hair as she threw up.
Rachel, completely out of breath, leaned back against the wall before allowing Finn to help her up as the returned to bed.
"How are you feeling now?"
Rachel pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Can you please get me a pain killer?"
Finn didn't hesitate to jump out of bed, and returned to Rachel 5 minutes later with a glass of water, a pain killer and some toast.
"You can't take medicine on an empty stomach." He said as he handed her the plate with the toast in it.
"Thanks."
Finn leaned over and gently touched her stomach.
"I can't believe there's a human in there. We created a human."
Rachel laughs before placing her hand on top of his.
"Santana knows, by the way. She found the test while she was taking out the trash. She thought I was cheating, because of the postman thing in school."
Finn laughed and gave Rachel a confused look.
"That was like, 10 years ago. Did she seriously think..."
"It's Santana, who knows."
Later that day, Rachel was deliberating over different ways to tell their friends and family about their news.
"What do you think Finn? I want to blow their socks off."
"Rach, we found out yesterday, I thought your supposed to wait for a scan or something before you tell people?"
Rachel shrugged. She knew she wouldn't be able to hide the news forever, and Santana already knows.
"Could we at least tell close friends and family? Our parents, Kurt and Blaine?"
Finn gave her a smile and nodded, before picking up his phone to call his mom.
"Hey mom, are you and Burt doing anything this weekend? Rachel and I were wondering if we could visit. We both have this weekend off."
"Hey honey. That's sounds great. Burt and I don't have any plans and I can call Hiram and LeRoy to come too. I'll start setting up the spare room for you guys."
"Great! Thanks Mom. See you then."
"I know it would be impossible for them to know, but I love how oblivious they all are! They'll be so excited." Rachel laughed.
Finn smiled, he could only imagine his mom's face when they tell her she's going to be a grandma.
An hour later, there was a loud knock on the door.
"Did you invite anyone over?" Rachel asked Finn, turning down the tv.
"No, did Santana mention anything about collecting the rest of her stuff?"
Rachel shook her head in response as Finn opened the door. There he was greeted by a ginormous stuffed bear sitting in the doorway of their apartment.
Brittany and Santana jumped out from behind the bear, Brittany wearing a light pink sundress, and Santana wearing a figure hugging blue dress.
Rachel joined Finn in the doorway, a smile of pure happiness on her face.
"Congratulations!" The two girls screamed before running and hugging Rachel, then Finn.
"Sorry, I had to tell Britt. We're so excited for you guys. We can't wait to be aunties, you'll be awesome parents!" Santana said as she wrapped her arms around Rachel's waistline.
Brittany bent down and placed her hand on Rachel's stomach.
"Hey there baby girl or boy. I'm your auntie Brittany, and I love you so much. I think your a girl, that's why I'm wearing pink, but Sanny thinks your a boy so she's wearing blue. When your here, I'm going to take you shopping and I'll teach you to dance and we can dance together while Sanny and your mommy sing together."
"You guys have already started guessing the gender?" Finn laughed as Brittany continued taking to Rachel's stomach.
"It's gonna be a boy. I can sense it." Santana commented as she stated indicating towards the giant bear taking up half the kitchen.
"We chose a brown bear so that it would fit if it was a boy or a girl."
Rachel looked around and her best friends and her husband. All her worries from the previous day had vanished. She knew that things would be incredible when the baby came, and that he or she would be given endless love from everyone.
The following day, Rachel and Finn invited Kurt and Blaine over for a movie night. Rachel bought a tiny yellow baby grow and a rattle, and decided to hide them in a cupboard for Kurt and Blaine to find.
"Blaine, can you get the microwave popcorn from the cupboard? It's the top one closest to the window."
Blaine got up from the couch and walked over to the cupboard Rachel had directed him to. He opened it and let out a small gasp before looking at her questioningly. She gave a small nod as an excited smile came over his face.
"Kurt, can you come here and help me with this?"
Kurt let out a dramatic sigh before following Blaine over to the cupboard.
"It's popcorn, what could you possibly need help w-"
Kurt paused, he and Blaine were both silent for a moment before Kurt let out a loud squeal, as he and Blaine ran over to Rachel.
"Your pregnant?" They screamed excitedly.
"Yeah, I am" Rachel replied as Blaine hugged her, while Kurt raced over to hug his brother.
"How far along are you? When's the due date? Do you have much morning sickness?"
Kurt's questions came out in a rush, his eyes never leaving Rachel's flat stomach.
"We actually don't know, we only found out two day's ago." Finn replied.
"Santana and Brittany know. Santana found the test while she was taking out the trash, and then told Brittany. Besides you guys and them, nobody else knows."
"Well, we're honoured to be one of the firsts to know. We love you guys, you deserve a beautiful baby!"
Rachel felt Finn's strong arms wrap around her waist, their friends reactions had been amazing, so she could only imagine how her parents would react.
Rachel awoke early that Saturday morning to pack a bag for their trip back home to Lima. Rachel had stayed up into the early hours of the morning thinking of ideas on how to blow their parents minds with their announcement. She decided to keep it simple, yet sentimental.
She found a blank piece on paper and folded it in half, writing Burt, Carol, LeRoy and Hiram on the outside before writing a short message on the inside that would set off some water works for sure.

She tucked the note away into the pocket of her jeans that morning, before putting the last few things in her case. Today would be a day to remember. She glanced over at Finn, who was still dozing peacefully in bed. Rachel climbed back into bed fully clothed. She planted small kisses on his neck, slowly working her way up to his lips. He began to slowly wake up, and kissed Rachel back.
"How is the human inside you doing?" He asked, placing his hand over her stomach.
"Oh you know, just making me throw up every meal I've ever eaten, but other than that I'm fine. I may have to book some time off from the show. Santana is still my understudy, even if she isn't fully focused on acting at the moment, I'm sure she'll help me out."
"We should probably get to a doctor too, just to check up on everything. I can make us an appointment?" Finn suggested as he rolled out of bed and made his way into the shower.
"Perfect. Now hurry up a little, I don't want to be late."
A few hours later, the couple arrived at the Hudson/Hummel household. Rachel and Finn were greeted by their parents at the door, before making their way into the living room. The family sat talking for a while, catching up on the last few moths until Finn subtlety squeezed Rachel hand. She gave a small nod as Finn stood up.
"Can Rachel and I make an announcement?"
The room went silent as the two sets of parents looked up at them curiously.
"Sure thing" Hiram replied.
"We need you all to be standing together." Rachel added, as they all stood up beside each other. Finn handed LeRoy the note, as he was standing in the middle of the group, so they could all look in.
Carol instantly began crying, as did LeRoy. Burt pulled Finn into a tight hug.
"I'm proud of you, buddy. I may not be your biological dad, but I love you like your my own son, and I'll love this baby like they're my grandchild too."
Finn frantically blinked back the tears that he didn't realise had begun to form in his eyes. Burt let out a small laugh before patting him on the back.
Carol also raced over to her son, still sobbing with joy.
"I'm going to be a grandma! A grandma! I can't believe it. Your going to be a great dad Finn. Congratulations."
Carols crying became uncontrollable, however LeRoy soon pulled himself together.
"I'm so proud of you two. I love you." He said as he pulled them both into a bear hug. They were created by a similar gesture from Hiram.
"Well, that went well." Rachel laughed, who had also began crying. Finn bent down and whispered in her ear.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they're pretty happy."
"I love you." She says as she planted a light kiss in his lips.
"I love you too Rach."
