Hello! I know. I know. It's been aloong time since I've updated. But I've finally discovered my muse again and have some idea how I'm going to finish this fic. I'd say there are roughly 5 or 6 chapters left. I'm not sure. This chapter takes place during the episode Stange Relations and Bay is grounded so that explains the lack of ranger action.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but Bay and the plot. Everything else belong's to the owner of the Power Ranger brand.
Kim looked at the house across the street as she turned of her vacuum cleaner. Conner and his friends were always over, it reminded Kim of her days as a Power Ranger. She still talked to her friends but on most days she found herself thinking about her teenage years.
Kim looked at the house again. There was a similar pattern from when she was fighting evil to now. A group of friends who were close and were always disappearing at times during the day.
The thirty year old women groaned. How did it take her until now to realize that Conner and his friends were doing what she and Tommy and their friends were doing years ago?
But what she couldn't figured out was how Tommy fit into the equation. He couldn't be back in a ranger uniform could he? But it would make so much sense as to why a group of teenagers were at his house almost everyday.
The former pink ranger looked at the picture of Bay. She had done everything to keep her safe from any possible threat. And now it was going to be impossible for her not to be used against Tommy in some villains attempt to rule the world.
The doorbell shocked Kim out of her thoughts. She wasn't expecting someone to come over today. Kim put the vacuum cleaner back in its place and went to answer the door.
"Tommy," the brunette answered the door surprised. She hadn't really talked to him since she had grounded Bay a few days ago.
"Hey Kim. Can we talk?"
"Sure I was just doing some domestic work," Kim laughed as she stepped aside to allow her ex into her house.
"We didn't really get a chance to talk the other day," The teacher walked into the house.
"I know. All the craziness with Bay has gotten a bit out of hand," The former gymnast walked into the kitchen, "Do you want a drink or something?"
"I could go for a cup of coffee," The black ranger said as he looked around the house. He still couldn't believe that his ex-girlfriend's house was across the street from his.
"So how is it that you ended up being a paleontologist?" Kimberly asked as she filled the kettle with water.
"I got tired of race car driving and I wanted to do something else."
"And why not dig up old dinosaur bones?"
"Pretty much and then I decided that I wanted to teach," Tommy smiled as he got a chance to look over his ex. She was still the same height and she was just as in shape as she was back then.
"I guess you teach how to be a Power Ranger also," Kimberly looked at Tommy as she took a sip from her mug.
"What?" He said as he choked on the hot liquid.
"Again you've gotten slower in your old age Tommy. Did you really think me, an ex Power Ranger, wouldn't notice?"
"Well..."
"The only thing I can't figure out is how you fit into the whole ranger thing."
"I mean."
"Unless you're back in action. Which would be crazy."
"Well not entirely crazy."
"You're serious? What color are you this time? It obviously isn't red."
"Black actually," The spiked haired man
"I can't believe this. This is the reason I hid Bay from you in the first place Tommy," Kimberly sighed as she looked at her ex.
"It's not like I begged to be a ranger again Kim. I was fine being a mentor like Zordon was to us," Tommy stared at the woman in front of him. He couldn't believe this was the same girl he once dated.
"Do you ever look back on those days?" She asked as she rested her elbows on the table.
"Most times. I think about Zordon a lot and I try to keep up with everyone else."
"I keep up with Jason and Trini more because they're Bay's god parents.
"Do they know..."
"That you're her dad? I think they do. But they don't bring it up,"
"Bay said she asked Jason about who I was,"
"He told me she did. He told her that he didn't know."
"I saw Jason a few years ago. He never mentioned you or you having a daughter."
"Well you were saving the world with a group of red rangers."
"That was a classified mission," Tommy defended.
"As Ranger business usually is," Kimberly countered.
"He told you about it though?"
"He didn't have to. All he said was it was important and that he needed to see you. I pieced it together from there."
"So how is he?"
"He's good. He's coming to visit before Bay heads off to college."
"That will be nice. Does she know where she's going?"
"She got into all of the schools she's applied to. But I think she decided on Columbia," Kim smiled a bit at the thought of her daughter in college.
"Do you need help paying for it?" Tommy asked hesitantly.
"No. David and I had been saving for her college fund for years. And me before that. There should be enough," the women explained.
"Let me know if I can help Kim. She's my daughter too and I want to be able to do something for her," the black ranger offered.
"Thanks Tommy," Kimberly smiled as Bay walked into the kitchen.
"This has got to stop. It's just too weird," the girl groaned as she grabbed a mug and poured herself a cup of coffee.
"Hello Bay. Did you sleep well?" the former ranger asked her daughter.
"As well as someone can being grounded."
"You're not grounded often Bay. You'll just have to deal."
"I had plans with Conner mom. This is so unfair," Bay whined into her cup.
"Well they can be put on hold for a week," Kimberly said putting her cup into the sink.
"Fine but I'm not going to gymnastics practice," the black haired said pouring out the rest of her coffee as Tommy's communicator went off. "Conner's watch does the same thing."
"I liked his so much I asked wehere he got it from," Tommy said standing up. "Kimberly I'll talk to you later."
"Sure," Kimberly repied softly as she watched Tommy left the house.
She couldn't help but be worried about Tommy. She knew that she was being ridiculous, Tommy had fought evil villians before. He would be fine.
Tommy looked the old picture that he kept of his friends. He still kept up with most of them. And they all were enjoying their lifes away from fighting evil.
Kimberly had been the only person he didn't keep up with simply because he didn't know where she had been. But now he knew that she was ok but she was in Reefside where he and his students, the current group of Power Rangers, were fighting the current villian, Mesogog, and kept him from taking over the world.
Along with Kimberly being back in his life she had brought along his daughter that he didn't know about. He had been upset about that at first but now he was trying to figure out a way to connect with her and make up for not knowing about her. He understood her mother's reasoning about keeping her from him. But he still had a right to know.
He promised himself that after the threat to the Earth was taken care of that he would spend the rest of his time left with Bay before she went to college getting to know her.
So not a very long chapter. But I got a Tommy and Kimberly interaction in so is all forgiven? *insert puppy dog eyes*
Until next time. I promise it won't be as long.
