Intro - Quirkless
"Please Iria, go watch some t.v, I'm going to start on dinner soon, Izuku needs some alone time right now."
The little green haired girl was watching her brother so intently from the moment she was picked up from the Bakugo household. Her curls done up in high pigtails did nothing to hide the concern in her giant emerald eyes. Looking to her brother, who had been sniffing since before he and their mother picked the girl up, while he was leaving and going into their bedroom
Iria usually listened to her mother, but when it came to Izuku, well as twins they already had an unbreakable bond. And despite her mother's words, the little girl turned on the television but still snuck into their bedroom.
Where she saw him in front of the computer watching the same video of Almight they always watched, no longer sniffling but fat tears falling quick from his freckled face in a quiet sob. Izuku was always a crybaby, everyone knew that. Still he never cried like that, especially not when he was watching Almight. Iria didn't have to say anything, just walked to his side and leaned her head on his shoulder. Izuku's cries became audible then, and the girl felt her heart tighten. What was the worst thing the doctor could have said?
"I d-dd-ont ha-ave one." The little one cried out softly, and made his twin look up with a confused look. Izuku's hands went up to wipe his face of tears that did not want to stop.
Iria didn't understand at first, and after a moment it dawned on her. Izuku knew when she figured it out, she always figured him out so quickly. Their mother said it was a twins connection.
"H-he looks s-so cooool," the boy sobbed out just as soft but not looking down to his sister who stood by his side, "do….do yo-you think I c-can be cool too Ria? Save p-people with a sm-smile? E-even like th-this?"
Izuku was a crybaby, and he cried over things as stupid as a flower getting squished by Tsuki when they played in the forest. This cry was different, and she didn't want to be mean, but there was more of a reason why she was best friends with Tsuki. While Izuku admired their friend, Iria had a personality that was simply so similar. Which just simply brought them together much easier, both of them were far too honest, brash and forward.
"Dont be dumb Izu," the little girl said with a very serious look on her face, moving her brother in the seat over so she could sit with him, he was still of course sniffling. And she felt him tense and move away from her, and she could feel the water works coming down even harder then, she rolled her eyes he was more of a princess then she was.
"Sh-shup up Ria, you already have an amazing quirk, its not dumb!" He all but yelled out into the room and the girl put her hand over his mouth to shut him up, their mom would definitely hear them and she would get in trouble. Looking at Izuku with warning eyes before removing her hand from her trembling brother before giving a sigh of annoyance.
"It is dumb, that's a dumb question Izu," she repeated very matter-o-factly, "of course you can, you heard Almight anyone can be a hero. And if you do it without a quirk….well you'll be way cooler than me." And Iria knew it was coming when Izuku attached himself to her, hugging her hard and she couldn't help her pleased little smile. She hated seeing him sad, even if he got sad over nothing.
"I've never heard of a quirkless hero before." Izuku replied meekly after a few moments of silence between them, but it sounded like his crying had stopped.
"Exactly Izu," she replied then with a laugh and a shake of her head, he still wasn't seeing what she saw, " that means you'll be the first one. How cool will that be? How many heroes are like me, too many to count." She explained easily then and there for the first time of the night she got his smile then as Izuku started to count on his fingers and held up five for her.
"Yeah well there's only five big names with te-tel-telakin-sis." He blushed at struggling to say her quirk, Iria couldn't laugh though she said it worse than him, "and none of them are girls, you could be the first one too." The excitement in his tone then at just the thought.
"You, me and Kacchan. We're gonna be the best heroes ever." Izuku finally said with a happy smile, tears dried up but nose still running. Boys were gross, still she couldn't help her own little smile too as she pushed away from his hug playfully.
"Not if Tsuki keeps calling me princess we won't because I'll end him. And he still thinks his quirk is better than mine. If he keeps it up I'm gonna throw him into the river." Her annoyance with their friend coming to light again in her mind, even when she was at his house earlier that evening he constantly wanted to measure their quirks. Insisting his was the best, but she wasn't one to fold easily like her brother. She had enough spirit to stand up to five Tsukis and some, which was why they got along so well yet also disagreed so explosively. Izuku simply laughed at that some more and went to look at the computer in front of him to watch his hero. Leaning on his sister as he did so.
"Well maybe if you didn't call him Tsuki he would, you know he hates that, his grandma calls him that."
And the girl simply wrapped her arms around her middle then with a turned up nose in stubbornness, "I don't know what his problem is, I like it."
"Well then I hope you learn to like princess too."
"But I'm nothing like a stupid princess! His name is Katsuki. Kat -suki, smosh it a little and it's just his name."
Into watched her two children from the doorway of their room as they both sat together at the computer. And she wiped away her own silent tears from her face. The news hit her hard, and hit Izuku even harder, but Iria took it as if it was nothing. As if it mattered, as if anything could stop her brother, and she reminded herself that she should have more faith in her children. Even if they were still so little, their dreams would not be crushed so easily.
Izuku dreamed far too big.
And Iria was far too stubborn to let him forget that.
