"Artie, Tina, Sam and Mercedes flew into New York last night. They're here to...you know..." Kurt said as he sat on the couch beside Blaine.

It was a mild Monday evening, the sun setting right outside the large window of their living room. Blaine switched off the movie he had been watching and turned to Kurt, who was staring at the sunset.

"When should we do it?" He whispered, keeping his gaze out the window. Without looking away, he wrapped his arm loosely around Blaine's neck and began playing with his hair, which was falling over his face after being freshly washed. Kurt loved his hair like this, wild with thick, dark curls.

"Do what?" Blaine asked. He was pretty sure he knew what he meant. Kurt was keen to get to the hospital to see Rachel again, it was him that was putting it off. They both knew their next visit would be their last visit. Especially now that everyone was coming to say goodbye, he knew he'd have to face reality sooner rather than later.

Kurt finally drew his eyes away from the window and looked at Blaine.

"You know what I mean. We can't keep putting this off, Blaine. I've been to see her tons of times but you make an excuse every time." Kurt sighed and took Blaine's hand.

"Look, I know it's hard. This is a shit situation. But Rachel's one of our oldest and best friends. We owe it to her to be there for her. No matter how we're feeling, I bet Rachel is feeling one hundred times worse, and don't get me started on Finn."

Small tears ran down Blaines cheeks. Kurt whipped them away with his thumb as he continued to speak.

"I just... I don't want to leave it until it's too late. She'll be gone soon so we need to go. We need to say goodbye. I know it's awful and it's something none of us should have to deal with, especially Rachel, at such a young age, and even though we're not ready to let her go... we need to do this for Rachel."

Kurt got up from beside Blaine, moving to sit on his lap. Kurt wrapped his hands around his hips, and rested his head on his shaking shoulder.

Blaine continued crying, but hugged him back tightly. Kurt was unsure of what to say next, so began rambling in a mumbled voice into his ear.

"I feel like it's a good time to say I love you, Blaine. I love you more than I've ever loved anyone before, and I'm so grateful to have you by my side. As my husband, and as my best friend. I don't think I'd be getting through this without you."

Blaine gently pushed Kurt's chest away from his, urging him to sit up. His eyes were full of tears that continued to fall down his face as their lips drew closer together. Blaine pressed his lips against Kurt's, and they kissed until Blaine pulled away.

"I love you too. I love you so, so much. This is hard, honestly I wouldn't be copping without you. And when...when it comes to saying goodbye, I know you'll be by my side, making sure she gets the send off she deserves."

Kurt smiled adoringly back at his husband. I really wouldn't be able to do it without him.

"And to answer you're question, I think Thursday." Blaine added quietly.

"I think if we go on Thursday, that leaves her time with her dads, Carol and Burt, and then a few days with Finn. They're going to need time together before she..."

Kurt sighed leaned into Blaine.

"I'm not ready. I know there's never a good time, but I've tried preparing myself for the moment it happens, I'm still petrified."

Blaine drew circles onto Kurt's cheek with his thumb as he spoke.

"We've known for months, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I'm worried about Finn. It seems like he's spent these few months looking after Rachel, and making sure everyone else was okay, but I'm not sure if he's as ready as he's pretending to be. I think he's just acting strong for Rachel's sake, to give her one less thing to worry about."

"No matter what Finn says or does, Rachel will still worry. I'm worried about Finn, adjusting to life with a newborn without Rachel, but I do think Rachel's more prepared then she's letting on to be."

Blaine frowned and looked at Kurt, wondering what he meant by prepared, but he was already back to staring out the window, where the sky had turned dark, with star's glistening in the sky.

"She'll be the brightest star in the sky." Kurt whispered. Neither one said anything for minutes.

"Thursday." Kurt whispered, trying to ignore the lump that had formed in his throat.

"Thursday."
