Chapter 2

Izuku was intently listening too and dissecting the video he was watching, while Iria was sitting on her bed, breathing hard and unwilling to go on. He wasn't giving them any breaks, Izuku had spent weeks watching these videos, breaking them down in a notebook that was different from the three hero books he had, so far that was. Izuko was obsessive about his notes, and his analytical mind had every part of the movements he was attempting to do.

And the videos Izuku was watching were only basic… MMA, Izuku called it, some western style of martial arts that was a mixed form of boxing and eastern styles. She wasn't too sure, Izuku wasn't very good at explaining things, he rambled far too much for it. Still it was only the basics and the boy already had a whole notebook filled in and wanted to finally practice with her….and practice they did. They had to be quiet about it because if their mom walked into them hitting and kicking each other she would most definitely worry.

And they hated worrying her.

She really didn't like violence, and them wanting to be heros didn't really affect her, but seeing them spar for practice would definitely upset her

Izuku was still practicing his form even after his sister had sat for a moment of peace, "Common Ria, I think I'm really close to getting this, just five more minutes! Common please." And the girl gave a deep groan as she fell back into the bed rolling around so she could pull her blanket closer, "Izuku if I hit you on accident again it's gonna bruise and moms gonna be mad, besides we've been at this forever. I'm tired." The girl complained easily.

She should have known it was fruitless, because a second later her brother's emerald hues became wet with frustration. Iria only needed that face to groan in annoyance before slowly getting up and off the bed. "Ten more minutes." She warned and the boy smiled before he too got into the position, Izuku had her wrapped around his little finger.

Kick, kick, punch.

Left, right, left.

Kick, punch, kick.

Left, left, right.

Punch, punch, kick.

Left, left, right.

Izuko needed to learn this, if he ever wanted to become a hero he would have to learn to defend himself before he even dreamed about defending others. And he already knew if he brought up the idea of some kind of dojo or sensei his mother would not be happy to hear about it. So he watched countless videos on many different fighting styles, he spent hours analyzing the videos and the fighters every moment and muscle twitch. It was slowly becoming as big a problem as his hero notes.

Watching of course was one thing.

What he really needed to do was practice, Iria did her best but got tired of it pretty quickly. She didn't want form, she'd rather just fight for fun, and Izuko was focused on getting a solid foundation for his fighting.

Which was why he was at the park doing some combinations with a seriousness on his little face that was keeping most walkers and onlookers at bay.

He could do it for hours, the same motion over and over again to perfection. He hardly even noticed when it was getting dark, the street lights would be coming on soon. And the boy finally stopped his motion with a deep breath until he heard a voice behind him.

"You have a solid form and quick moves, but you leave yourself open to attacks the way you're teaching yourself." A slow tired voice said easily, Izuku jumped at the shock before looking back at who spoke.

He didn't even notice the man, who had his hair tied back and the scar on his face. It took him a moment to even recognize him out of his costume. He looked so normal in a black shirt and joggers, scarf nowhere to be seen. He looked like anyone that would pass through the park.

"Eraser-Head?" The little one asked with a turn of his head in confusion to why he was there, before he straightened out very quickly. A pro-hero was just watching him, and just gave him advice. If his notebook was around he would already be writing that down.

The tired man gave him a look through when his hero name was said, before putting a finger to his lips and a loud 'shush'. Still he walked forward and stood before the young boy who was looking up with a mix of uncertainty yet excitement.

"If I'm not in uniform it's Aizawa, got it kid?" He said and Izuku nodded awkwardly then from his embarrassment, still not sure what was going on before the man got into position that was his base. Izuku took the hint and did so himself, and Aizawa smirked, "Show me the second combination." He said very easily and the boy nodded then trustingly going up for his solid kick which was blocked like he knew it would be, but when he went for a punch with his same left side he was easily pushed off balance and onto the floor.

It wasn't rough, but it was unexpected and quick, before he knew it he was already in the grass. His greens full of surprise yet also glee, and the man above him still very serious before bringing out a hand to help him back up to his feet. With a slightly less trembling hand he took it.

"Your moves are good, the form perfect, but you aren't doing anything with your other side. You fight with your whole body, while one side attacks the other side defends. You're leaving yourself wide open between all the combinations."

Izuku nodded then getting back to his form trying his best not to panic at the compliment and criticism he was given by a pro. Aizawa moved then from where he was to behind him in an instance. "Show me the first kick and hold it from the same combination."

Izuku did as was told, going right into form and held it there. He was already used to that from his training, Aizawa nodded at him but moved his right arm and positioned it where it needed to be for a better defense.

"Slowly," the man said, still holding onto Izuku's arm, "go into the left hook." Again the boy did as was told, but Aizawa did not let go of his arm then moving it where it needed to be as he moved.

"When you punch, the other side should also be tight and prepared for anything." Once the form was complete and he held it again Aizawa went to hold the other side, "go for the final kick."

And again the man guided his now left side to what needed to be done.

And it simply clicked for Izuku, the motion felt more fluid than it did before. The videos didn't focus on what Aizawa showed him, just the offensive.

"C-can I try it again? I think I got it." Izuku said happily but his anxiety still made him act a little small, Aizawa nodded at that. Getting before the boy again and they both got into position.

Twenty minutes later, Izuku still had yet to get a hit on the pro-hero, and he still was getting knocked down. But Izuku knew he was getting more out of that twenty minutes than the hours of sparring with Iria. He was learning, and he held onto every word that Eraser-Head said. Every piece of advice, every warning and problem the man saw Izuku noted down and already had about half a notebook of new information.

When the lights started to flicker on around the park did the man stop. And Izuku noticed, "Wh-what's wrong Aizawa sir?" The boy stamped out, really wanting to do more, to practice more, learn more.

"It's getting dark, you'll worry your parents and sister, you should go home. You've already improved from where we started." Aizawa said easily then his hands falling into his pockets, his words dismissive.

And Izuku felt a little defeated at those words, before nodding. Going to run home then before a question was called

"What's your name kid?" Aizawa asked loudly, stopping him in his tracks, his greens amused to say the least.

"I-Izuku Midoriya sir."

"Midoriya, your third combination still needs more work, you also could use more than the basics. I'll be here tomorrow at six."

Aizawa was so intimidating he could never tell what the man was thinking half the time. He didn't know what to expect or why he was helping him, but he was still grateful for it. And he couldn't help his big smile at the words.

"Are you gonna be my sensei Aizawa sir?"

"I just said I'd be here at six Midoriya." The man said tiredly before turning away, and Izuku smiled wider, bowing to the man who was walking away from him.

"I'll be here, thanks so much for the trouble sensei." And he ran home as well then. He could have sworn he heard a chuckle from the man, but Izuku didn't turn to find out

"Izuku, where have you been, it's almost dark out." Iria heard her mother chide from the table where she was doing the rest of her English work, it was almost seven thirty and she had been home for the last hour once her and Kotaro had finished playing for the day. Her and the boys went to the forest to play heros where they came across Katsuki and his little gang.

She thought it was going to be an all out war between her and Katsuki, but they all ended up playing together instead. It seemed only when Izuku was there was when the trouble began, and she hated that people were so mean.

"Sorry mom, I was training at the park and time got away from me, I came home as soon as I saw the lights turn on though." He said as he made his way into the house, going into the kitchen with his mom and sister.

Mom had her hands on her hips at the stove yet still was smiling because of the bright smile on Izuku's face. She walked up to him and kissed his forehead before hugging him.

"That's Alright love, just be more careful next time."

Izuku nodded then and joined her at the table. The happy smile on his face still plastered, "Spar with me again tonight. Please." He asked quietly and the girl gave him a sideways glance, she only had a few problems left.

"No, I'm tired today."

"Please."

"No."

"Please."

"No."

Izuku was quiet then but gave a pleading face and Iria rolled her eyes in annoyance, "Weren't you training in the park for hours, aren't you tired too?" And he shook his head at the question and she sighed annoyed before dropping the pencil to the book. She was pretty much finished anyhow.

"Thirty minutes, and then you let me practice on you for thirty minutes too." Iria said diplomatically and Izuku smiled happily.

"Dinner is ready kids, Iria put your books away for me baby?"

"Yes mom." She said to her mother before turning back to her brother, "after dinner." And of course Izuku nodded.
