This Night
Chapter 158
Author's Note: Keep reviewing it really means a lot! A whole heck of a lot! I'm still deciding what to do about Daryl and Beth, cause there on the run chapter isn't going to change as in no one is added with them, so may or may not write there chapter. Still debating, I don't want to just do the same dialogue.
So, I needed someone known for his roles as cocky and obnoxious to play Mar's ex husband in a kinda flashback, and when I started looking for actors, I knew Billy Zane was perfect. Review please.
John Tambilson-Billy Zane
Mar's POV:
Mar ran toward the bus as it pulled away. She had no idea if Mitch was on it or who else had been on it. "Damn it!" she exclaimed frustrated. She turned around to run back to Daryl but saw she was cut off. "Damn it all to hell!" she cursed as she started to run. She knew she wasn't going to catch the bus but if she could get to the highway she'd be able to meet with the others, with Daryl, Mitch, Jewel, Carl, Summer, hell even Merle. She adjusted the weapon on her back and took off. "Nothing kills a Dixon but a Dixon," she murmured to herself.
"But you aren't a Dixon are you? You are just a whore spreading your legs for protection," a males voice said in her head.
"He's not here, he may not even be alive, Mar. And you are a Dixon. You are still alive, you are here and you don't have to listen to him anymore," Mar said out loud.
"You lost another kid you were supposed to be protecting, Mariah. You weren't meant to be a mother," the voice said.
Mar turned to a direction of a walker and used the ax she had with her. "You were never meant to be a father, you son of a bitch. You and your rich family that hide behind the law. You hiding behind your medical scrubs, John. The great Doctor Tambilson. Smooth talking, alcoholic, abusive Doctor Tambilson. The best thing I ever did was leave Boston and change my name," she said as she whacked the walker's face in. She stood up and went to another one.
"If I am that bad, Mar, why did you put Peter on a plane to see me?" the walker seemed to taunt her.
"Do you think I wanted to you ass? The hardest thing I ever did was put my son on a plane to see you. Every single time I did it, it broke my heart," she said as she took the ax down on one walkers' head as she kicked one away. "But, you were his father and you only took pleasure in hitting me," she told him. "I'm still standing, you dickhead. You thought I was weak, you thought I wouldn't survive without you. But I survived before all this, I survived by leaving you. By moving to a new state, a new city, by retaking my last name. I survived by making friends that you couldn't control, or scare out of my way. I survived being raped, and I got away from those people. I survived by fighting, I helped people. What about you? Did you run to your daddy? Or did you hide with your booze bottles? Or did you become someone like the Governor John?" she asked as she took the ax to the other walker's head. "I know Peter survived, because as much as you hated it, he was like me in that way. He was more of a Jacobson then a Tambilson. Only a weak and coward of a man raises his hand to his wife. MY son, John, my lovely, caring sweet boy, had a chance of surviving in this world because he knows what it's like to be strong, to be brave. I was meant to be a mother. I love Mitch as much as if I gave birth to him. My hope is someone is taking care of Peter like I am Mitch. I am going to find him, find my family. And, I'm proud to be considered a Dixon, you ass," she said as she finished taking down another walker. "I'll see you in hell," she said as she walked away. She smiled softly as she grabbed a bag off a walker. "I'm still here."
Evening:
Michonne and Mar's POV:
Mar stopped in front of what was an old BBQ place. She took a breath as she heard someone talking.
"Mike I miss you, I missed you even when I was with you. Back at camp, it wasn't you who did it," Michonne's voice said with a sigh. "You were wrong, because I'm still here. You could be too. He could be too," she said. "I know the answer, I know why," she said.
Mar took a breath as she knocked on the door. "Don't use your sword, it's just a friendly face," she said as she came in.
Michonne stood up. "Mar…" she said as she went and hugged her. "Is anyone else with you?"
Mar shook her head. "I saw the bus pull off, I tried to turn around to get back to Daryl but I was cut off. I backtracked, around the prison, started picking up tracks. Thought I saw Rick's and Carl's. Then I saw a whole group of disembodied walkers, and I knew that it could only be yours," she said as she opened up a bag. "I found this on one of the walkers' I took down," she said as she handed her a bottle water.
Michonne nodded. "Thanks. Yeah, I was following Rick and Carl. It's getting dark," she said as she sat back down.
Mar nodded. "We should stay here tonight, that is if you don't mind me tagging along."
Michonne shook her head. "Don't mind at all. Good not to be alone."
Mar nodded as she took a drink of water. "It's none of my business, but when I got to the front door, thought I heard you talking to yourself. You said Mike," she told the other woman. "Clearing the air with someone who may or may not be alive? I did that, mine was named John."
"He's dead, I did it myself," Michonne told her. "John? Your ex husband?"
Mar nodded. "Yeah, always made me feel like I wasn't good enough. Hit me, got real bad at times. Don't know if he or my son is alive. Now I don't know if Daryl or Mitch are."
"They are," Michonne told her. "We'll find them," she assured her. "Guess both John and Mike were wrong."
Mar looked at her. "What do you mean?"
"They thought we were weak, we're still here," Michonne told her. "We aren't giving up, and we'll fight for our family."
Mar nodded. "I was alone before the group found me, just like you were before you found Andrea. I had one bullet in my gun, but I wasn't even strong enough to do it."
"You weren't meant to do it. You were meant to be found by Rick, Jewel and the others. Just like I was meant to be taken in when I got that baby food. Just like we were supposed to find each other now. We don't have to be alone anymore," Michonne said.
"Makes you think dark thoughts. But here we are again, with no home, all of us scattered," Mar told her. "But, I don't think I'm as scared as I was before."
"Yeah?" Michonne asked.
Mar nodded. "Because I know that we aren't the only one's looking. No one is going to give up on one another," she said.
Michonne nodded. "We'll find them. We'll find the bus before Jewel gives birth. I'm not gonna miss that."
Mar smiled. "What you did for Jewel, staying with her during the flu. Thank you," she told the other woman.
"Don't have to thank me, she's family," Michonne said. "Even when I was with Andrea, I didn't open up to her. She was my friend, but I didn't tell her things I wish I had, things that she asked. Something about this group, something about Judith surviving," she said softly. "Jewel and Rick didn't have to raise Judith as there own, but they are. Rick doesn't treat Summer any different then if he had been there since day one. Same goes with Jewel and Carl. That somehow defies how everyone in the group helps each other, loves each other."
Mar nodded. "That's what makes us different then people like the Governor. We care, we love. Even in all this, we care," Mar said. "Tomorrow bright and early we'll start out, watch each other's back."
