Carl, Rick and Lexi's POV:
Lexi sat on the stairs and cleaned her knife. She looked over at Carl. "No change?" she asked referring to Rick.
Carl shook his head. "No," he simply answered. "You still think he's going to be alright? Or can we start thinking about what happens if he doesn't wake up?"
"You can start thinking about it, I'm not," Lexi answered. "I heard what you said about being able to survive without him. You know it isn't the truth," she told him. "I'll sit down here with you for a while."
Carl nodded as he closed his eyes and leaned against the couch. He jerked up as he heard moaning from the couch. "Lexi!" he yelled as he backed up.
Lexi stood up on the steps. "Now you call me?" she asked as her voice quivered.
Carl pointed his gun at Rick as he reached for him. "I can't…I was wrong…just do it…." he said as he started to cry.
Lexi took a breath as she started to go over to finish Rick off.
"Carl…Don't go outside…stay safe," Rick's raspy voice came out.
Lexi dropped her knife. "He's alive," she said as she went over to Carl. "He's alive, see got to have a little faith," she said. "Help him sit up, I'll go get him a bottled water," she said as she hugged Carl. Lexi came out with a bottle of water. "I'll go upstairs, let you two talk."
Rick shook his head. "Sit down," he instructed her. "You're a part of this too. Where'd you two get this?"
"We went out…searched for supplies," Lexi answered as she looked at Carl.
"Shouldn't have went out there, it was to dangerous," Rick told both of them.
"We were careful," Carl answered.
"For the most part," Lexi teased Carl.
Rick gave a small smile. "Kept him in line did you?"
"I tried," Lexi answered.
"It's good that you found more food though," Rick told them.
Carl and Lexi glanced at each other and laughed. "There was more, but we ate it," Carl informed him.
"Pudding…112 ounces of chocolate pudding. Sorry, we finished it," Lexi told him honestly.
Rick laughed as he looked at the two of them. "I know we'll never get things back to way things were," he told them.
Lexi lifted her head off her knees and looked at him. "Are you saying you think they are all dead? That there's no hope?"
Rick shook his head. "No Lexi, I'm not saying that. But we have to be prepared that we may not find any of them again," he said as he rubbed his wedding band.
"You're not giving up hope on finding mom are you?" Carl asked.
Rick smiled softly. "Not til I take my last breath. But Carl you're a man now, and I'm sorry."
Carl looked at Lexi then at Rick. "It isn't your fault dad, you don't have to be sorry."
Lexi started to say something as a knock came on the door. All three of them jumped up and grabbed there respective weapons. Lexi took a breath as Rick went to do the door. "Walkers' don't knock," she whispered to Carl.
They both watched as Rick went to the door and looked out the peephole and started laughing. He fell on the couch.
"What?" Carl asked.
"It's for you," Rick told them.
Carl arched an eyebrow as he went to the backdoor, still holding his gun. He cautiously opened the door. "Michonne! Mar! In here," he motioned as he held the door open.
Mar wiped her eyes as she went in. "Hey," she said as she hugged him.
"Hey," Carl greeted as he hugged her back.
Michonne smiled. "Hey do I get one of those?" she asked.
Carl nodded as he hugged her. "Come on," he said as he closed the door and took them to the living room.
Lexi grinned as she saw the two women coming in with Carl. "I am so glad you two are here. These two are hard to keep positive. See Rick, two more got out, so the rest of us could too," she said as she hugged Michonne then Mar.
Rick threw up his hands. "Alright, alright, so I'm just going to be a little bit more confident."
Mar went over to him. "No offense, but you look like death warmed over."
"Gee thanks," Rick said as he hugged her. "Did you see Jewel? Summer? Anyone?"
Mar and Michonne both shook there heads. "We got out separately, met up last night. I know I'm not the nurse you really want to see, but I'm here and she's not. And those wounds need to be cleaned and checked. Should have been checked last night."
"He was unconscious last night," Lexi told them.
Mar checked his head. "No fever. Was he running one last night?"
Lexi looked at Carl. "I didn't check, did you check?"
Carl shook his head. "I thought you checked."
Michonne looked at them and laughed. "Neither one of you are allowed to play nurse again. So is this a stop or home?" she asked.
"It's just a stop, right Rick? We got to find Sasha, Ty, Jewel, Daryl, Summer…all of them," Lexi said.
Rick smiled. "Right Lexi, just a stop."
"If we're gonna stay, we're going to need more supplies," Michonne answered.
"I'll go with you," Rick told them.
"Oh, no, absolutely positively not. What part of you need to get these wounds checked out don't you understand?" Mar asked.
"Plus you were unconscious last night," Michonne added.
"He just woke up an hour or so," Lexi added.
Rick sighed. "I'm conscious now."
"Conscious yes, strong no. This isn't up for debate Rick, I'm going to look at those wounds. They could be getting infected, and you know as well as I do, that infections are real serious in this world. I want to get you back to Jewel in one living peace. So, you are staying here with me," Mar informed him.
Michonne nodded. "We need you strong. I'll take these two with me."
"I'll grab a couple bags. I found some shirts in another house, not sure if they'll fit anybody," Lexi nodded.
"We'll be back soon dad," Carl told him.
Mar and Rick's POV:
Mar walked out of the bathroom with some bandages and water. "It's not much, but at least I can bandage the worst ones. So, you want to say what you're thinking Rick? That maybe Jewel and the baby…Judith…Summer…Mitch…Daryl, maybe that they didn't make it…." she said softly.
"Carl, Lexi and I saw Judith's carrier…it was all bloody," Rick said as he grimaced when she started taking care of his wounds.
"Everyone's thoughts were on getting Judy, her and Jewel were probably the most protected and watched out for people. Hey, we got out. You got out. I'm pretty sure that if you survived, they survived. You don't think Jewel's dead do you?" Mar asked as he flinched. "Sorry."
"I think I'd seriously know if she was gone," Rick said with a chuckle. "Cliché I know," he said.
"No, it's hope, Rick. And we got to have it, especially now," Mar told him. "I know Jewel, I know how strong and determined she is. God help any walker that stands in her way finding you, even at eight months pregnant."
"It's not the walkers' I'm worried about. The humans are worse then the walkers'. The Governor is just the tip of the iceberg," Rick told her as he ran his hand over his wedding band.
"I feel sorry for anyone who messes with Jewel or the baby. They don't know how fierce she gets when it comes to her children. But you can't do anything until you heal. If you push it, you'll be weaker, and possibly die. Until you get stronger, you are just gonna trust in everybody's will to live. When you are stronger, in a day or two, we go look for them together. When we do find them, Lexi and I are going to say 'told you so," Mar teased. "Just rest," she told him.
