AN: I wanted to do a cute oneshot featuring one of my favorite Pokegirls so here it is! If you like it and want more, please tell me. I'm planning more oneshots and ideas would be helpful! If you want this fic to continue on with some relationship fluff, I'm open to it.
I forgot to mention this in ASJ, but my beta is XenoTime39. If you like Quintessential Quintuplets, I'd suggest looking at his profile. He has a great story for it and he's currently writing an even greater story for it which will be out when season 2 of Quintuplets is out.
A male trainer, dressed in light clothes, could be seen laying on grass, relaxing, watching an airplane flying in the skies of Mistralton City. The buzzing sound of the propeller always put him to ease.
A shadow towered over him as he laid there.
"Hey, cutie. How about we go flying?" The figure turned out to be a figure clad in an assortment of light blue. A girl to be exact, with dark-red hair styled where 2 long locks framed her face while a flowery hair piece held a strand of her hair up high.
A single eye closed as the other stared at the person's face. A smile made its way on the male's face.
"Why of course. Lead the way Skyla." Outstretching his arm, he waited for her to help him up.
"I'd be glad to, Robin." Taking his hand and bringing him up, both walked hand in hand to what is their shared passion.
Their passion went back years of being together after all.
The sun was shrouded by clouds as rain fell from the darkened sky. Two children could be seen in the Pokémon center of Mistralton City arguing.
"Eleeeesa, take it back!"
"I won't! The weatherman said this storm would go on for an hour. The plane show will have to cancel."
"But the plane show only happens once a year!"
"Then, they'll reschedule. It's not a big deal."
"Yes, it is! I wait for this day every year. If it happens tomorrow, all my excitement will be wasted."
"How does that even make sense?"
"It makes perfect sense!"
The two argued for a while. Skyla and Elesa were friends from birth due to their parents' friendship. Two children of similar age who visited one another were bound to be close friends and that was indeed the case for Skyla and Elesa.
The door to the Pokémon Center opened automatically suddenly, startling both Skyla and Elesa. A boy around their age walked in wet with his hair covering his eyes. Walking up to the duo, the mysterious boy dripped all the water of the rain on the floor.
Raising his hand in a dramatic fashion, the boy pulls up the hair covering his eyes. Skyla's and Elesa's eyes widen. The boy had a pretty normal face, but his eyes were the bright red. "Um…"
The boy was struggling to communicate what he wanted to say.
"Wow, those are the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen," Skyla said with a smile towards the boy.
That compliment that was only said out of Skyla's tendency to be an airhead completely interrupted the boy's train of thought. Only some "Uh-uh-uh" sounds could be heard from the boy as a small blush started to form on his cheeks.
Ignoring the boy's stuttering, Skyla noticed the boy's drenched appearance, "Oh, you're absolutely soaked." Grabbing the boy's hand, she says, "Come with me. I know an easy way to get you dry. Hey Elesa, you can help with this too!" Skyla turned her head past to address her best friend.
"I'm assuming we're getting your dad's Pokémon?" Elesa knew exactly what Skyla's plan was.
"Of course!"
(-)
"T-thank you." The boy said.
"No problem! Swanna was happy to help out, right?" Skyla gestured towards the white bird Pokémon.
"Na!" Swanna replied.
The boy smiled at the flying type and decided to pet it to show his thanks. The Swanna trilled in appreciation, obviously liking the attention.
Elesa's eyes widened in surprise. "You seem skilled at petting Swanna. Do you do that often with other Pokémon often?"
"O-only flying types. Since I want to specialize with the typing, I spend a lot of time learning about how to tend to them. I've tended to some wild Pidove to see if my research paid off and it seems like they all enjoyed how I tended to them." The boy's speech turned more confident with the conversation shifting to Pokémon.
"Really? My grandfather is the Mistralton gym leader!" Skyla piped up at the topic.
'W-wow. Could you introduce me to him later? I'd love to get a professional's opinion on caring for flying types!"
"You could just ask Skyla. She's learned everything there is to know about flying types from him," Elesa said, poking Skyla's cheek.
"Eheheh," Skyla laughed, a bit embarrassed by the compliment. "I'm still learning, but I'd love to teach you what I've learned."
"Really!?" The boy's eyes sparkled at the offer.
"Why not?" Skyla was always excited to talk about flying types… or just flying in general. Skyla's eyes widened as she had a small realization. "Um, I didn't catch your name. I think that's important to know if I'm going to teach you anything."
Regaining his withdrawn disposition, the boy moved back and whispered out, "Robin… My name is Robin."
Skyla's face gained a grin from that response. "Robin… Isn't that like the flying type of the Kalos region, Fletchling?"
"Oh, that's right," Elesa reached the same realization, "Fletchling is described as the tiny robin Pokémon. I guess that's where your name came from."
"T-that's right. I-I'm originally from Kalos and my mom used to train a Fletchling."
Skyla and Elesa were very interested in that information. Skyla spoke up, "So, when did you move from Kalos?"
"W-when I was 4, so 4 years ago."
"Oh, you're 8, huh. Elesa and I are 9," Skyla noted. Wanting to change up the conversation, Skyla asked, "Say, if you like flying types as much as you said, are you as excited for the annual Mistralton City Plane Show?"
"Of course!" Robin almost yelled out his excitement, before deflating muttering, "I just hope this rain doesn't cancel it."
"It won't!" Grabbing Robins hand, Skyla stared at him in the eyes as she said, "I'm sure the rain will let up soon!"
"Just don't get your hopes up too high. I wouldn't want the 2 of you to be disappointed if the rain doesn't let up," Elesa murmured.
The trio chatted for half an hour before the rain finally letting up, allowing the planes to finally fly.
Robin and Skyla excitingly glowed up at the sight of the planes maneuvering through the air. Elesa seemed interested, but definitely not to the extent the other 2 were.
"Man…," Robin muttered, "Flying just looks to be so satisfying. I hope that I'll be able to do that when I get my own Pokémon!"
Skyla averted her gaze from the show to address Robin. "I'm sure, you'll be able to do that when you become a trainer. Who knows, maybe you can become a high-flying pilot like I'm going to be."
Invigorated by Skyla's confidence, Robin gave an emphatic, "Yeah!"
Now our relationship was elevated to something way more personal.
The duo had arrived at the Mistralton Airport.
"I hope you're ready to eat my plane's cloud dust," teased Skyla.
Robin gave a smirk. "Oh? I hope you aren't underestimating my flying skills. Out of the two of us, I'm sure that I'm the better flier. You taught me everything that I know."
Skyla tilted her head. "I may have taught you everything you know, but I didn't teach you everything I know."
After having a laugh at their own teasing battle, they started to prepare to fly. Robin held his pokeball out and said, "I guess we should release them now, so they can fly with us."
"Ooh, that sounds like fun! We may need to slow down our racing though to let them keep up with us."
"Nah, they should be fast enough," Robin said chuckling at Skyla's concern, "These sport planes don't go all that fast."
"Hmm, you might have the advantage since I usually pilot cargo planes now that I think about it," Skyla pouted.
"Don't go backing out now. Anyway, let's let the gang out!" Robin and Skyla call out all their flying Pokémon. Out on Robin's side was his Noivern, Mandibuzz, and Talonflame. Out on Skyla's side was her Swoobat, Unfeazant, and Swanna.
"Hey guys, are y'all up for some flying?" Skyla offered to our Pokémon. With a loud assortment of Pokemon cries shouted back at her, they walked over to planes to finally take off.
Making sure that all the safety equipment was in place, Robin adjusted his seat's restraints and then radioed in to Skyla's plane, saying, "Everything good on your end?"
"It's all good here. We'll take off in 10, 9, 8.." Robin focused on starting up the plane before tuning out everything, running through the motions of piloting. "2, 1. I'll see you later Rob."
"We'll see about that, Sky." With that affectionate exchange of nicknames, the duo took off. The sky was as blue as the waters today on this sunny day. The Pokémon have been able to fly a safe distance along their trainers' respective planes. It seems the leaders of the groups were Swanna and Talonflame, Skyla's and Robin's aces.
Intent on making some light teasing while having the friendly 'race', Robin spoke up, "Come in Highflying girl. Come in Highflying girl. It would appear there has been a sunny day move cast upon the sky. I would advise anyone in the air to watch out for any stray solar beam."
Skyla giggled in response to Robin's silliness, calling back, "Copy that little Robin. We're coming up on the Celestial tower. We'll turn around there and then head on back." Giggling again at her own participation in the silly conversation, Skyla looked over at her Pokémon, who were keeping up the flight nicely. None looked worn out and were just enjoying the flight.
'I guess with how much we fly, their stamina for constant flight is better than any other Pokémon in their typing,' thought Skyla. 'It's especially impressive for Robin's Noivern because as a part dragon type, their flying endurance is totally different from the others who are more pure fliers.'
Rounding the stone tower, both Skyla and Robin raced to see who could make it back the fastest.
Robin got a little mischievous and before he did anything, he motioned towards his Pokémon that he was going to pull off a maneuver. "Come in Highflying girl, please take a look on your left."
Skyla looked to her left and she saw Robin's plane. Then, she saw it rise in elevation before looping around Skyla's plane, completing a barrel roll while in that process. With a snort, Skyla radioed back, commenting, "Showoff." Skyla could do some tricks of her own, but she wanted to win the race and doing any tricks would just slow her down.
Skyla could hear nothing but the sound of the plane. In all actuality flying takes a long while and the idle chapter has been the only thing to distract from the sounds of the plane. Although the common person off the street may describe flying like this as 'boring", Skyla loved it. And she knew that Robin loved it too.
After about 10 minutes, Skyla saw the Mistralton airport and so she quickened her plane's pace towards there. She wasn't looking back to see where Robin was. She deployed the landing gear and then as the wheels met ground, Skyla steadied the plane into the airport. When the plane went to a complete stop, Skyla was surprised to see that Robin's had only stopped a few seconds after hers did, making her the winner of their very serious race.

"Ahhh, Ice cream after winning a plane race is the best!" Skyla was content eating the sugary frozen treat. The two were sitting at a table near an ice cream shop.
"Well, it was your reward for winning," Robin said bemused, "Anyway, I'm winning right now."
Skyla was confused by that statement. "What do you mean?"
With a scratch behind the head, Robin chuckled and said, "Your facial expressions while eating ice cream are amazing."
Blushing a bit from ear to ear by that remark, Skyla wasn't one to take teasing without firing back. "Oh yeah? Well now, I wanna see you eat some." Scooping up a spoonful, Skyla offered it to Robin's mouth.
Robin was a little hesitant to take the bite, but in an act of sudden confidence, he opened his mouth wide and took the bite, surprising Skyla due to the sudden action. Licking his lips, he gave a suave look to Skyla and said, "Delicious."
Skyla blushed again before giggling at Robin's attempt at acting seductive. Robin gave a little pout before breaking out into laughter. The 2 were content right now, comfortable in each other's presence.
"Well," Robin started, getting up from his seat, "Finish up your ice cream. It's about time to get lunch for the gang."
"If you're going to rush me with eating ice cream, then you better help out!" Skyla said in mock anger, offering another spoonful of ice cream to Robin.
"Well, if you insist." Robin took another bite. 'This may have been Skyla's reward at first,' Robin thought, 'But it ended being my reward.'
The two completed the large cup of ice cream in record time after a Skyla offered it a number of times towards Robin and then ate a spoonful herself.
Offering a hand to help up Skyla from her seat, Robin led Skyla to her gym, specifically right outside it. The two had eaten their lunch separately, before the race, but had left their Pokémon to be fed afterwards.
"Come on out, Talonflame, Noivern, Mandibuzz, Scizor, Mismagius, and Cryogonal." The variety of Pokémon that Robin had caught during his stay at Unova and his visits at Kalos surprised her every time.
"What are you staring at?" Robin teased her. "Bring out your crew already!"
"Alright, alright." Throwing all her pokeballs in the air, she called out, "Let's go, Swanna, Swoobat, Unfeazant, Archeops, Braviary, Skarmory, Sigilyph, Driftblim, and Sylveon!" Skyla, as a gym leader, had a much larger cast of Pokémon to pull from and Skyla was a big flying type enthusiast whereas Robin preferred flying types, but was more of a generalist.
Gifting a variety of Pokémon treats to her companions, Skyla was almost toppled by the affection of her Pokémon. "Hehe, guys cut it out. Hehe. I appreciate it, but you gotta get off." Skyla sat up to look at her other Pokémon. Sylveon went to her regular position in Skyla's lap.
"You know," Skyla said while petting Sylveon's head, "I was surprised when you came back from your annual trip to Kalos with not only a Noibat, but also an Eevee."
Well, with your tender loving care, it evolved into a Sylveon. I thought maybe with your flying expertise, you might create a new Eevee evolution, a flying type Eevee, to be exact."
"Really?" Skyla was baffled by that statement. Currently, an Eevee evolution for flying types has not been discovered. 'Is a flying type Eevee evolution even possible?' Skyla thought.
"Nah, I just thought the Eevee suited you." Robin turned to address Skyla. "It's cute, just like you!"
Skyla was again, surprised by these affectionate cliché phrases. 'While it is cliché,' Skyla thought, 'Whenever he says those things, it makes my heart beat just a little bit faster.' Breaking out into a sea of giggles to dispel the tension put there by Robin, Skyla betrayed her thoughts and said, "Hehe, you're so silly."
Robin looked at the giggling Skyla with a grin, knowing the damage he did to her heart. 'She doesn't deal with embarrassment well, but she sure does have a cute nervous laugh though.'
Raising his arm for his Talonflame to land on, Robin addressed his team, saying, "I hope you enjoyed lunch. We're going to be heading over to Victory Road in a week, so I want you all to be prepared!"
"Oh, that's right," Skyla muttered, "Are you challenging the elite 4 again?"
"Yep. I just want to stay battle-ready. I feel like if I don't battle anyone else but you, I'm going to stagnate. Not that you're a bad battler, but we're so used to each other's strategies."
"Hmm, you could just battle Elesa. You know she would make time for the both of us to do so."
"Yeah. Even though she's a popular model, she would make time in her busy time to do so, but I just think the elite four would challenge me more."
"Ok then. I'll cheer on for you like always."
"Thanks," sneaking in a peck on the cheek, Robin said, "I appreciate it."
"No problem," Skyla whispered, looking down, embarrassed by Robin's bold gesture. 'When did he get so smooth,' Skyla thought. Little did she know that underneath Robin's calm face, he was massively embarrassed.
While the two have been together for 2 years, they were both very innocent when it comes to relationships. That was very clear between the two's actions and reactions.

After a few hours of mindless fun, Skyla and Robin decided to eat out for dinner. Nothing too fancy, just a casual diner.
"You know, you should just let me pay for my own meal. Out of the two of us, we both know who makes more."
Robin shook his head. "Although your gym leader salary is more than my infrequent tournament money, I want to do this for you. I'm sure you'll make it up for me in some other way."
Skyla, embarrassed yet again by a smooth remark, shyly looked away, saying, "Ok. As long as you're sure…"
"I am. By the way, what are you planning on ordering? I think I'll get the Tauros surprise with some Moomoo milk."
Skyla was left wondering what she would have. "Hmm, I guess I'd have to go with some Magikarp sushi. I think to wash it down, I'll order just some water."
The two gave their order to the waitress when she went around to take it.
Robin, intent on making some light conversation, asked Skyla, "Hey, where did you get the idea for your gym leader outfit?"
Skyla gave a lightly surprised noise before answer, "Well, I knew I wanted something light and cute, so I gave those two characteristics to Elesa and asked for her opinion."
Giving a silent 'thank you' to Elesa, Robin replied with, "I guess Elesa did a good job then, huh!"
'Again with those smooth remarks,' thought Skyla. "U-uh, I guess so. It's a bad outfit in winter though with how little it covers, but in the hot summers, it's perfect. It was embarrassing to wear at first though…"
"It's fun to see you in other outfits even though your gym leader outfit is very nice to look at."
Skyla was currently wearing a light blue comfy shirt with a miniskirt bottoms with long black stockings to complete the image.
"I mean, I can't say the same for you Mr. same jacket and jeans. You look a lot sharper with your nice black light jacket and your long black pants!" Skyla giggled at her own harsh remark.
Robin's own attire was mostly darker clothing, but the white shirt underneath the jacket gave him a more approachable appearance.
"H-hey, my regular outfit is for on the move training, not fun date clothing like now."
"Oh, so is this peak Robin for me?"
"Y-yes. Hope you like it!" Robin was too embarrassed by his own bold statement.
"Why, of course I do!"
"T-that's good then." The roles had been reversed. Now Skyla had gotten started with the teasing. Robin wished to regain control of the teasing.
The two's food had already come, but the conversation didn't die down until both had nothing else to tease about. Needless to say, both were a bit flustered by the end of their teasing and so both instead opted to eat their ordered food.
A glance of Skyla eating her food made Robin smile as he took a bit of his.
In that same bite, Skyla peaked at it and gave a grin of her own.
They were both comfortable just like this.
And both of their dinners were finished in a comfortable silence as peeks were done at each other's delight in their food.

"It's interesting to watch the sunset with each other."
"Hmm, but don't we do that every month since we've been together?" Robin questioned Skyla's intention with that statement.
"Oh, shush you. Every time we've watched it, it's been a different experience."
The two were sitting on a porch swing, right outside Robin's house. It wasn't anything large, but it was a cozy place for the two to spend their time together.
"I guess I can agree with that." Every time the two had watched the sunset, the feelings of affection between the two have just grown exponentially.
"You guess? Do you guess the day you remember when we got together?" Skyla tried to give an angry expression on her face, but it failed as Robin could see the smile in her eyes. She was having fun with this.
"Of course, our anniversary is in a little under month, after all."
"Oho, how impressive. Well, what happened on that day, if you remember it so well." Skyla kept her fake anger going as she leaned on Robin's shoulder.
"It's a little embarrassing, but I do remember it."
"Then go on and tell the tale," Skyla said as if she's been waiting her whole life to say it.
"It was about a year after you had taken over as the Mistralton City Gym Leader. We had spent the entire day battling it out with our Pokémon, so we were both pretty exhausted. That's when I offered for the both of us to go for a flight with our Pokémon, no planes. So, I rode upon Talonflame while you flew with Swanna."
"Hmm, accurate so far. What happened next!" Skyla had a twinkle in her eye saying that.
'She just wants to hear what happened again, doesn't she.' Robin thought. "We both flew for about an hour, having some fun conversation and I remember especially telling some amazing jokes."
"Jokes, that were at my expense!" Skyla retorted.
"Details, details. Even if that was the case, even your Swanna was laughing with Talonflame and I."
"Roooooooooob," Skyla drew out the name in a complaining way. "Get to the good paaaart."
'She's not even hiding her intentions on hearing this anymore.' "Well, we flew on top of the Celestial Tower to give Talonflame and Swanna a rest. We made some more light conversation when I suddenly couldn't hold it in anymore. So, I told you that I had something to say which took you aback. If I recall correctly, you seemed to have been blushing when I did that."
"M-maybe." Skyla said, confirming nothing.
"Anyway, I wanted to make sure to communicate how serious I was, so I put both of my hands on both of your shoulders." Robin went through those same motions of holding Skyla, making her face him. "I then said, "Skyla, I've liked you for a while now. Would you please go out with me?" Robin's face turned into a full-blown blush from year to year.
With a light blush at him saying it again, Skyla responded, "And what did I say?"
Regaining the normal color to his skin, Robin chuckled and responded, "You said, "Aww, I like you too" before breaking out into a full body blush then you were all flustered."
"I-it was instinct, I couldn't help it."
"You instinctually reciprocated my feelings?" Now Robin was on the offensive. Gone was the embarrassment from telling how he confessed to Skyla.
"Wa- N-no, I mean." Skyla was stuttering up a mess as she tried to correct her wording.
"Hahaha, you know I know what you mean." Sweeping up Skyla into a hug, Skyla cooled down from her flustered state.
"That's not fair. You know sometimes my mouth moves faster than my brain does."
"And it's one of the cutest parts about you. I get your unfiltered thoughts for free, especially in the mornings when you're not fully awake."
"What is the cutest part about me if my mindless babbles are up there."
Robin didn't hesitate. "Why, it's of course your bubbly personality and your passion for flying." The sun had only a sliver left when Robin asked, "What about me? What's so special about me?"
Skyla didn't need to hesitate before saying, "Your passion for Pokémon of course! You seemed to only come alive initially when we were talking Pokémon, flying types especially."
"W-well, I was quite the awkward child."
"And I love you now for how awkward you were even though you're much smoother nowadays." Giving a quick kiss on the lips before Robin could react, Skyla got up from the swings before walking away to the door.
Robin stayed, stunned and flustered by the kiss.
Skyla opened the door before turning and saying, "What are you waiting for cutie? Come on in. We can cuddle while eating some popcorn." Skyla offered her hand to the still sitting Robin.
Robin got up from the porch swing and took Skyla's hand whispering, "I love you too."
Shaking off the blush that was beginning to form, Skyla led Robin into the house to continue the comfortable life they both shared.
AN: Hope you enjoyed this little fluff piece. I hope to write some more fluff so your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
