Rick and Mar's POV:
Mar leaned against the kitchen door and watched as Rick leaned over the sink and took a deep breath. "You should be resting, Rick. Jewel would kill me if she knew I wasn't making you recover."
Rick turned and looked at her. "She's out there, alone, scared, maybe having this baby. Just like Lori."
"That wasn't your fault, neither is this Rick," Mar told him. "You know Jewel, she was prepared for anything. She's got everyone on the bus to help her out. No one going to abandon her and this baby," she told Rick as she squeezed his arm. "We'll find them, Rick, but you aren't going to be able to do anything without you resting. Jewel is going to need you healthy, and strong. You have to take care of yourself, so you can take care of her and this baby. The quicker you get heal, the quicker we can go look for her. I don't want her having this baby by herself anymore then you do. She's my best friend, Rick. I want to see her have this baby, I want to hold her hand, I want to check this baby out. I want to see you holding this baby, holding her hand. You were almost killed by a mad man two days ago Rick, so stop being stubborn and get back upstairs."
"Michonne and the kids' should be back by now," Rick said.
"They're fine, but you aren't. I swear to God Rick, I will pull out my best Jewel impression, you know the glare, and the crossing of the arms. Yeah we got that from Jane," Mar warned. "Come on, upstairs. I'll help you up."
Rick took a breath and went with her. "Do you think she'll forgive me? If I miss the babies birth?"
Mar looked at him. "Rick, you know Jewel. The two of you are the missing half of each other. She's not going to be mad at you, this was no way your fault. She's going to be relieved to see you, she's going to run into your arms, and the two are you are just going to stare at each other in that disgusting but cute way you do," she teased.
Rick looked at her. "We do not stare at each other."
"Yeah, you do," Mar answered as she helped him to the bed. "A stare that says volumes without saying a word. A look that every girl grows up wanting," Mar said. "Not a whole lot of girls get that."
Rick gave a small smile. "Daryl looks at you that way."
Mar smiled. "Not the way you two do. Not sure any man looks at any woman the way you look at Jewel, but that's what makes you two the perfect couple to lead us at the end of the world. You and Jewel are like soul mates that have been waiting just to be reunited. We all know when the two of you are together, the rest of us are looking at pure love."
Rick rolled his eyes. "You are not allowed to read any more cheesy romance novels," he said as he playfully hit her arm. "I mean this isn't putting much pressure on Jewel or me," he told her.
Mar laughed. "You guys will find each other again, and then I'm going to say 'told you so.' Now drink some water, and the next time you think about getting up, don't. I'll go look for a book for you to read."
"Yes ma'am," Rick said with a roll of his eyes.
Michonne, Carl, Lexi POV:
Michonne gave a smile to the two teens as she rejoined them. "Find anything good? Candy Bars? Comic books? Crazy cheese?"
Carl looked at her. "Huh?" he asked.
Lexi looked at him. "You don't know what crazy cheese is? You were definitely deprived!"
Michonne pulled out a can of cheese. "Bam, crazy cheese. Found it all sealed and everything. Now I'll be nice and let you have the first pull, since you have been deprived."
"No thanks," Carl said.
"You sure? I mean Lexi here can tell you what you are missing," Michonne told him.
Lexi smiled. "It's real good."
"I'm fine," Carl answered.
"You don't seem fine," Michonne answered.
"I'm just tired, OK?" Carl answered.
Lexi shrugged as Michonne opened the can of crazy cheese and sprayed some in her mouth letting it hang out.
Carl rolled his eyes and walked ahead of them as Lexi laughed. "He's been in a mood," Lexi said as she shrugged.
"Well one of you thought it was funny," Michonne said. "I'm not very good at making boys that age laugh."
"I was laughing, on the inside," Carl said as he went to the door.
"You've been doing that a lot then," Lexi said with a roll of her eyes.
"Toddlers find me funny. Two, three year olds," Michonne said.
"Did you teach in a pre school or something?" Lexi asked as she watched Carl knocked.
"Not exactly," Michonne answered.
"So what do you mean by toddlers?" Carl asked.
"I had a three year old son and he happened to find me funny," Michonne said as she opened the door. "We need food, batteries, water, in that order."
"Why didn't you ever tell us you had a kid? What was his name? Did you have any others? Were you married?" Carl asked.
Lexi glanced at him. "Ever hear something about privacy?" she asked.
Michonne laughed. "It's alright, Lexi. I'll answer one question at a time, one room at a time, and only after we cleared it. But Lexi gets to ask questions too."
"Nah, I think he got it covered," Lexi answered as they went to clear rooms.
Carl stayed quiet until they cleared one room. "What was your son's name?"
"I said after," Michonne told him.
"Technically these are two separate rooms and we already cleared that one, so…" Carl said.
"Andre. His name was Andre Anthony," Michonne answered. "Make sure there isn't a box of cookies hiding in there," she said as she nodded to the door.
"Did you have any other kids?" Carl asked.
"Rules of the game my friend," Michonne told him. "Lexi, stay with us, don't be going in a room by yourself."
Lexi sighed and turned around. "Alright."
"So did you?" Carl asked as Lexi rejoined them.
Michonne scoffed. "You could be a spy, or a cop. No one was enough for me. Andre was a handful, like you," she told him. "Now if they were well behaved as Lexi here, I might have reconsidered," she said.
"Does anyone else know?" Lexi asked as she glanced back to the room where she was just in.
"Jewel," Michonne answered. "Hey, Lexi, you alright?"
"Yeah," Lexi answered.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Michonne asked as she went over to her.
"It was a babie's room…a girls room…," Lexi answered as she slid down the wall. "I…" she tried to keep the tears from coming.
Michonne bent down. "Hey, I thought you were on my side in that we were going to find the rest of them?"
"But what if we don't? What if Sasha and Ty are dead? What if Judy….her carrier…" Lexi said.
Carl bent down. "Hey, we aren't giving up hope. I didn't think that we'd find anyone else. But Mar and Michonne found us."
"If anyone's survivors', it's our group. Everyone is going to be doing what we are doing, trying to find each other. Sasha and Ty aren't going to stop looking for you, and we aren't going to stop looking for them," Michonne answered.
"We um should get some clothes for Judy in the babies room…maybe see if there's any small outfits for the new baby," Lexi suggested.
"That's the Lexi I know," Carl said. "But we don't want to dress my baby brother in pink," he told her.
Michonne grinned. "Oh you just don't want to be the only boy in the Grimes family."
"I'm kinda hoping for a girl, I mean we're awesome," Lexi answered.
"We should get back, Rick and Mar will be worried about us," Michonne answered as she hugged Lexi.
