Hey guys! This one-shot was requested by Purry – One-shot where Leo is taken by Slash and Raph must save him. I liked Slash as a bad guy, so I was excited to do this honestly. Enjoy x

Slash's Revenge

Raphael was lying face down on his bed feeling miserable. Don't get him wrong he's glad his brothers are ok and that they forgive him but he still felt so guilty.

He caused them to get hurt. He mutated Spike. It was his fault.

Now his pet was gone and frankly he was terrified to complain about his brothers to anything else in case history repeated itself.

"Raph?" Leonardo's voice calls from outside, "You ready?"

Raph sighed, he and his older brother were due to patrol. His two younger brothers would not be joining them as they were still on bed rest after the brutal attack.

"Yeah, I'm coming" Raph sighed as he got off the bed and went out of his room.

"Donnie's trusting us with the mutagen scanner tonight" Leo smiles humorously,

Raph smirked weakly.

"That's awfully nice of him" He joked.

"Maybe we'll find something tonight…" Leo shrugged before looking into Raph's eyes, "Or someone?"

"I don't know if I want to find him" Raphael admits,

"Let's go" Leo nods.

"YOU TWO BETTER NOT BREAK THAT SCANNER!" Donatello yells from another room, the two brothers snicker before leaving the lair.

They had been out for half an hour with no sign of any mutagen or trouble. They had been getting along surprisingly well.

"What a boring night" Raph sighs as he looks over his brother's shoulder at the scanner.

"I've been having fun" Leo smiles as he lifts the scanner, "It's been a long time since we hung out just the two of us"

"Yeah" Raph smiles before frowning, "I nearly made sure it was only the two of us left"

"Please stop beating yourself up Raphael" Leo begs as he steps towards his brother, "The guilt thing doesn't look good on you"

"I'm allowed to feel guilty, besides, you're one to talk!" Raph snarls, "You always beat yourself up over everything, it's like you can't live unless you blame yourself for something!"

"That's not true" Leo rolls his eyes, "I'm the leader and eldest brother, I am responsible for everything- "

"Stop rubbing that in my face!" Raph snaps before sighing, "Being made leader really changed you"

"For the better" Leo insists, Raph looks at his older brother.

He wasn't lying. Since being made leader Leonardo had matured drastically, he trained harder and almost took on a fatherly role. Sometimes the brothers liked this side of Leo as he was a great comfort and confidant but Raph missed the old version. He missed his best friend who used to be by his side all the time, the dork who was always up for a game or a movie marathon. Yeah, he still liked dumb cartoons and pinball but that was it. His other hobbies have seemed to have disappeared and been replaced with training and extra lessons.

Raphael didn't entirely blame Leo though, a small part of him hated his father for the burden he dumped on the eldest's shoulders. He had heard his father tell Leo that sacrifices had to be made sometimes and as leader his main responsibility was to see the mission complete and his brothers home safe no matter the cost.

He was afraid of losing his big brother and that's why he acted the way he did, he'd come too close before.

"Not for the better" Raph sighed, "I miss the old Leo"

Leonardo frowns at his brother before sighing.

"I can't be distracted anymore; one mistake and I could lose all of you" Leo looks pained.

"It's not all on you" Raph swallows thickly, "It never was, and it never will be"

"Father's expectations are different for me in comparison to you guys" Leo snaps, "You guys make a mistake and he assures you it's ok but I'm under so much pressure all the time to be the perfect one! If I make a mistake, I'm told it's inexcusable and I need to do better!"

Raph shakes his head sadly,

"Leo- "

"No Raph!" Leo slouches in exhaustion, "You never got it… I've tried over and over to get you to understand but all you ever did was make things more difficult for me… I'm a lousy leader and that's why you guys don't obey my orders"

Raphael was about to hug his brother when suddenly the mutagen scanner starts beeping rapidly, he looks at it to see mutagen was hurtling towards them.

"What the hell?" He breathed. Leonardo stood in front of his brother in alarm, ready to defend against the attack.

In a blink of an eye Slash was barrelling into them knocking them in separate directions.

Raph groaned as his bruised body tried to get up, he looked over at Leo. His brother, having taken the brunt of the attack, was out cold. No doubt he would later feel like he was hit by a bus.

Slash stalked towards the fallen brother as Raph continued to struggle to his feet.

"Spike… Spike, don't! Don't hurt him!" Raph pleaded as he fell to his knees again, Slash hoisted Leo onto his shoulder and turned to face his old owner.

"I will prove to you Raphael that you are stronger without these hold backs… I understand now what I did wrong" The giant turtle looks down in shame. "I knew you were protective of your little brothers; I shouldn't have hurt them. Leonardo was the one who caused you so much pain and anger, he took your place as leader and has been holding you and keeping you back since. I will dispose of him then you can lead your brothers to victory!"

"No!" Raph yelled as he forced himself to his feet and ran at Slash, but the giant turtle was too fast, he disappeared into the night.

"LEO!" Raph screamed, he let another brother down. How could he have cursed Leonardo so much to make Spike think he hated him, he loved Leonardo dearly and couldn't stand the thought of having to step up and be the new eldest.

He blinked when he realised the scanner was still working, he frowned in determination. He knew which direction they had went, the scanner would help him find his brother and he would get him home alive.

He swiped up the scanner and ran off after Slash, hoping and praying he would not be too late.

It took twenty minutes of searching before he finally found their location. It seems Slash had found his own home in the sewers several blocks away from his original. Raphael sneaked into the much smaller home of his ex-pet and found it was merely an abandoned subway track which had caved in on one side. It was a sad yet airy space with nothing but a few rags to call a bed.

At the far side he found Leo curled up on his side on the filthy floor, the leader was tied from ankles to neck with rope and he seemed to be struggling to breathe. He was awake though and that made his heart swell with happy relief. He was about to run over when he noticed Slash strolling towards the leader with his back to the entrance.

"You're awake" He noted in his gravely voice. "Good"

"Let me go Spike" Leo snapped as he glared up at the giant turtle. "Raph will never forgive you if you kill me"

"He will thank me" Slash corrects, "You don't realise how much Raphael despises you! He wants you dead and I am more than happy to do it for him"

"You're wrong!" Leo growls as his struggles increase, "Raphael is the protector of our family. You know how loyal and caring he is when it comes to family"

"I do" Slash agrees, "But it does not extend to you. How are you not understanding? You have tormented my Master for years, made him feel insignificant compared to you! He should have been leader, not you!"

"I would never wish leadership on Raphael" Leo somehow manages to shift into a sitting position, "It's too difficult, the pressure is too much! He deserves to be able to live his life, have his freedom without fear of making fatal mistake"

Raph's eyes were stinging with tears.

"Raphael deserves a better brother than you, you never heard the things he used to say about you" Slash is dangerously close to Leo now so Raph started creeping closer. "You are a dull, arrogant, demanding, controlling, hypocritical, judgmental, know-it-all, stubborn perfectionist. You are dirt, you are worthless, and Raphael HATES YOU!"

Leonardo flinches at nearly every word.

"And that's why you'll die here, alone. Raph won't bother saving you" Slash pulls a box of matches from his belt and lights one. Leo doesn't struggle. He sits, head bowed and waits for the lit match to burn his ropes and effectively burn him too. "You'll burn in hell for being the worst brother and leader to my Master"

Just as Slash is about to throw the match, he is hit from behind by Raph's full body, he manages to stay on his feet as he spins to face his old master who now has tears soaking his mask and running down his face.

"You're wrong Spike" Raph grounds out. "Leonardo may be a pain in my ass sometimes but he's my big brother! He's kind, calm, strong, protective, honest, loyal, compassionate, a huge dork and most importantly… my best friend… I hope he can forgive me for all I've done"

He kicks Slash hard in the stomach but the turtle still only stumbles before frowning.

"I don't understand Raphael; you always complain about him yet you want to save him?"

"He's my brother" Raph nods, "I love him"

This triggers something in Slash, the giant turtle growls and throws the still lit match in Leo's direction.

"No!" Raph yelps as the ropes around Leo catch the flame, Leonardo's struggles renew at the heat now burning his legs.

Raph runs towards his brother but is stopped when a huge fists swings into his chest, throwing him back.

"Raph!" Leo screams as he rolls on the floor, hoping to put out the flames but only succeeds in setting fire to the rags nearby. Before they know it the whole cavern is catching the flames allowing them to travel.

Raph gets back onto his feet and tries to get to his brother again but Spike is too strong.

"Let him die!" The giant turtle yells, "We need to get out of here before the whole place burns up"

"I'm not leaving him" Raph struggles in the large mutant's hold. "Please Spike, Please!"

"Go Raph!" Leo coughs, "Get out!"

"No!" Raph cries, Slash stares at his old owner, "Please Spike! Please let me go! I can't let him die!"

The giant turtle shakes his head sadly but releases his hold.

"I'm outta here, if you wanna burn be my guest. I'm done with you and your family" Raph doesn't care as Slash leaves the cavern, he runs straight to his brother's side.

Leo's ropes are black and burnt and Leo is groaning in pain and exhaustion. Raph cuts the burning ropes with his Sai, freeing his brother. He drags him to the cool abandoned subway track outside and together they collapse, coughing and groaning.

Raph looks at his oldest brother, there are burns all over his body.

"N-No… No…" He sobs uncontrollably, "I did it again! I got someone I love hurt again!"

Leonardo looks at his younger brother and frowns at his distress, he forces himself to sit up and slide closer to him. He smoothly scoops Raph into a big hug causing said turtle to grip his shell with all his might and cry into his shoulder, letting out all the pain and guilt that has been building up.

"It's ok Otōto" Leo soothes gently, "Everything will be ok… Just breathe"

Raphael buried his face further into his brother's neck, allowing him to protect him for a while with his soothing warm touch.

"It's ok Raphie… I'm ok" Leo continues under his breath.

"I'm sorry" Raph sniffles. "I don't want you dead, I never have! He was lying!"

"I know" Leo smiles as he kisses the top of his brother's head, "I know, it's ok"

"I love you Leo"

"I love you too Raph" Leo breathed. "Everything's ok now, everything's ok"

And Raphael believed him.
