Gloom is only broken by glow. Silence is only broken by sound. Bonds can only be broken by betrayal. One's body can only be broken by one's mind. But... What if it isn't their mind?
The gloom is broken by the glow of two ghastly green eyes that flicker and flourish with every haggard breath of an entity cloaked in darkness. Long sharp claws screech against a cold metal floor with every thunderous step.
A deep growl emanates from deep within its throat as it begins to speak. "Monsters. Darkness. A scream!" The mysterious creature shrieked, echoing through the cavernous iron cave. The sound ricochets off the walls and ceiling until silence is again repossessed and the ring of silence fills the air.
"... A voice. A voice of few. A voice of many. A voice luring in the cat just to KILL it with curiosity!"
Numerous neon green eyes flutter out from behind the entity and fuse to its body. The eyes blink and bear large fanged maws, glowing a sick yellow; dripping with sizzling acid saliva as they prepare to feast, "Nightmares. Creeping like- AHH, someone spit on my eye!" The creature bellowed and shut one of its main right eyes.
A pair of eyes pop off its body and bounce off. A quiet click sounds and light engulfs the room, revealing a mass of vibrant multicolored fluff and fur balancing atop of a sapphire creature shutting his large black eyes. A small yellow figure, dressed in white, is at the foot of the lightswitch, tip-toeing to reach it.
Stitch battles the only mild discomfort of the acid saliva searing into his cornea as he carries his cousins on his back with all four arms. He shoos them off so he can wipe his slobbered eye with the back of his wrist. Sparky returns from the light switch with a tissue and hands it to Stitch.
"Who drooled on me?" He laughingly asked in the dark voice and swabbed his face with the tissue Sparky gave him.
Donning a plastic white Jabbawockeez- esque mask, a black long sleeve button-up shirt and pants, and a white bucket on her head hiding her pink antennae. A white Les Paul style guitar with a red pickup switch and kill buttons is fastened upside down on her back with a mustard yellow strap, "Sorry Boojiboo! That was me." Angel said as she walked over to Stitch and lifted up her mask to blink off her night vision. They all blink their eyes to deactivate their vision and smooth any wrinkles acquired on their costumes. "Well... that was fun." Angel said as she clipped her mask on her belt and hugged Stitch. She places a warm kiss on his right eye; the eye she drooled on and Stitch lays a soft paw on her face and closes his eyes, grinning ear to ear by their warm connection.
The door beeps and everyone looks to see their visitor, "Hey guys!" Lilo said as she popped her head inside the room. "Dinner's read- what're you doing?" She queried, noticing the congregation of aliens around a blue hovering device reflecting their image.
Stitch is wearing jeans, a black calculator watch on his left arm, and a tucked in white button-up shirt with evenly spaced black dots. A weathered denim jacket with rolled up cuffs over his white undershirt, and a red sleeveless ski jacket over the former layer. He moves his tongue around his mouth and drools out a glowing electronic onto his paw, "Just making a spooky video for Halloween!" He responded in his normal cheery voice and flinging his saliva off the device before placing it in Sample's extended paw.
Sample's attire consists of navy blue cargo pants and a maroon hoodie with a white silhouette of his head with '258' in blue numbers on his back and lapel. A backwards green hat on his head shifts his speak-ears to the sides of his head, and neon green shutter glasses propped atop his microphone nose completes his casual DJ outfit. "Did you need us?" He asked Lilo as he gave the voice changer a disgusted look and wiped it on his pants before stuffing it into his pocket.
"Of course," Lilo replied, "I always need you, and come down, dinner's ready."
They all make their way out the door and follow Lilo downstairs. "Early dinner? Nice!" Reuben quietly remarked as they walked. Stitch runs back and presses a button on his phone to deactivate it. The screen blackens and transforms into a small blue disk. It drops out of the air and Stitch catches it in his pocket. He runs back out the door and slams his paw at the wall underneath the switch in a failed attempt at turning off the light.
The impact rings through the room and everyone glances around, wondering what the sound was. Stitch clenches his teeth as he looks back into the room to assess the damage. With a sigh of relief and a paw to his chest, he gingerly taps the switch off and walks through the automatic closing door.
Jumba bursts through the front door of the house and is wearing a dirtied white jumpsuit with a black trefoil sign on the back. A large white wig atop his head, black four-eyed goggles on his forehead, a black digital stopwatch around his neck, and leather tool belt with various tools around his waist completes his crazy scientist . "Nani! Spooky Halloweeny-time decorations have been completed!" He chuckles, "Take a look." He gestured outside and flicked a plastic spider out of his face as he wipes his feet and steps inside.
Nani is wearing a puffy baby blue dress that ends at her knees, a white ribbon tied around her waist and a little white bow is pinned on her hair; parting it out of her face. She presses her hand up against the kitchen window to see Jumba's work. She silently replies with a confused-impressed expression at the sight.
On the dirt driveway in front of the house, grass has been planted around in various patternized circles and squares. Plasma cannon wounds dot the exterior of the house with smoke blowing out of them, a car is overturned on the driveway with a caved in hood and fire spewing out of it. Various bones and skeletons plot the front lot. "Wow! Amazing job Jumba, I think you've outdone yourself this year. And are those reverse... crop circles?" Nani asked her alien uncle.
"'If you put your mind to it,'" Jumba taps his temple, "'you can accomplish anything!' And yes!" He hollers, "Is being on nose, is thanks to new invention!" He whips out a small, bulbous green and yellow blaster with a little patch of grass and a tiny plastic flamingo wearing shades out from behind his back. "The instant grassificator- inator- 9000!" Jumba marvels at his new invention, "Can create grass INSTANTLY on any surface."
Jumba aims the blaster toward the hallway and pulls the trigger back slightly, charging the machine up. A green light emits from the barrel and his backpack trembles, wheezing puffs of green steam from the seams.
Sparky walks out from the hallway and notices the blaster aiming at his face. His feet slip against the smooth hallway floor as he scampers back behind the wall.
Jumba pulls the trigger all the way back and fires a bright neon green beam toward the opposing wall. The blaster rockets up and back, almost being thrown out of Jumba's hands and into his round nose. The glowing ray flies toward the wall and instantly, a perfectly square patch of green grass appears upon it.
Jumba cackles loudly as Sparky shakily emerges from behind the wall. He stares widely at Jumba, then at the grass on the wall and watches it slowly slide off and plop on the ground with a soft thud. A long, rectangular mark on the wall displays the grass' trail down to the floor.
"HA HA see?! Is incredible, no?... What? Can be making good money with invention." Jumba said as he stepped toward the hallway.
Sparky is clothed in a white unshackled straitjacket with three leather belt buckles hanging off the back and sleeves. A plastic, folded up old-fashioned straight razor is tucked away in a custom hidden pocket; only being revealed by a rectangular bulge on his side. "That didn't bring back good memories." Sparky said as he retracted his short orange claws and shook off the shock of being at gunpoint. He hands Jumba the floppy grass from the hallway and walks into the kitchen.
Jumba chuckles and takes the grass from his electric creation. With a tweak of a knob on the blaster, a white beam is fired and the grass disappears in a puff of green smoke.
Sparky giggles at the ploom of smoke stagnating in the air and watches it slowly rise up to the ceiling. Nani just shakes her head, smirking, when the oven dings, "Come on guys!" She yells from the kitchen, "Early dinner!"
David is wearing the exact same thing as Nani; a baby blue knee dress with a white ribbon tied around his waist. He walks up behind Nani, and hugs her from behind. She rests her head against her husband and smiles affectionately.
Everyone enters the kitchen and Nani quickly starts blessing the food. They all stop where they are and close their eyes and bow their heads. With a collective, "Amen!" they take their share and begin to indulge into the hot and steamy cheese pizza.
"So, what're your plans for tonight?" Nani asked, starting up conversation as they began to partake in their early meal. "Sample? I see you're dressed up."
Sample swallows his drink and wipes his mouth with the back of his wrist, "Yeah, I got a music gig downtown later tonight!" He whips his head down to cause his shutters to fall over his eyes. "Some of my human friends are hosting a Halloween party and asked if I could DJ for them."
"Oooh, fun."
Sparky chimes into the conversation, "Me and Zee are taking our boys to their first Fall Festival at one of the churches near the lighthouse."
"Mhmm." Nani mumbled as her mouth was full.
"Yeah, we're gonna get a lot of candy, play games, stay-"
"BOYS?!" Nani spouted, coughing wildly and almost choking on her food. David rubs her back to soothe her coughing fit and everyone snaps their attention to Sparky, repeating what Nani exclaimed simultaneously.
Sparky chuckles at his family's reaction to his inconspicuous reveal. He sets his pizza on the creased paper plate rocking in front of him. He giggles as he tries to recompose himself, "Um, heh, yeah… Boys." He said, smiling and blushing deeply.
"Since when?!" Stitch asks excitedly and brushing the table off from his spitballs of food. "And how come you never told us?"
"July."
Stitch's eyebrows raise and his mouth drops.
"July 11, at 10:29 PM. The only ones who knew were Jumba, and Checkup." Sparky said, holding up two fingers. "Yeah, Zee wanted to keep it all a secret, and wait till we could all come together to break the news; like today. And…" He exhales sharply and shakes his head smiling, "When you see them… They're, they're beautiful. Just beautiful!"
Happy tears well up in Sparky's eyes, but he quickly bats them away. He picks up his, now cold, pizza and continues eating while wiping the intermittent tear off on his straitjacket sleeve.
"Man Sparks, I was NOT expecting that!" Stitch remarked. He clicks his tongue and sucks in a breath, "And you said it so, like, nonchalauntly too. I just- ju- come over here!" Stitch stands up and opens up all four arms to embrace his best friend.
Sparky dusts his paws off as he swallows the last of his pizza and gets up from his wooden throne. Stitch slides all four arms between Sparky's and hugs him tightly. Sparky quickly returns hug and blue electrical arcs travel between his antenna. Their tails wag excitedly as they rock side to side, still thrilled by Sparky's unexpected reveal.
Nani smiles at the brotherly love as she takes a swig of her drink, "I am so happy for you Sparky! If you ever need parenting advice you can always ask me."
"Or me! Do not be forgetting, I am who created you, 221." Jumba smiled widely.
"... Thanks guys. Thanks a bunch." Sparky said as he broke off the hug and washed his paws. He dries them on a tea towel draped over the oven handle and flips the straightjacket back over his paws, receiving the illusion of an escaped mental patient.
After a moment of silence as everyone calmed down from the enrapturing conversation, Lilo spoke. "Well have fun and be safe tonight everyone. And Sparky… dude I'm stoked!"
Sparky gives Lilo a cheeky smile.
"Also, me and the girls are gonna be at Victoria's house for a sleepover, so I won't be home tonight. But I'll be back tomorrow."
The doorbell rings and everyone perks up to it. They stuff whatever food they have left in their mouths and dust their hands, or paws, off. Nani looks through the peephole of the door and sees a group of three kids, followed by their parents, waiting on their porch.
They ring the doorbell again and Sparky throws the door open, darting over the masquerading children and cackling crazily. They laugh loudly as their hair stands on end, as do their parents. Stitch, Angel, and Sample hiss at the children as they crawl out the door on all fours, or sixes in Stitch's case. The kids step out of the way for the vicious aliens which snap and nip at them playfully. The vicious aliens stand up and continue their path down the stairs. Sample gives one of the kids a fist bump before diving off the stairs and rolling into his landing.
"Trick or Treat!" They shout collectively and raise their empty pillow cases to Nani. The group rounds the corner as they hear Nani commend the children's costumes.
Lilo waves bye as she splits off from the group and walks the opposite way down the street. She adjusts her full backpack over her shoulder as she continues walking down to Victoria's house. They wave behind them as they continue their own adventure to Sparky's lighthouse home.
Sparky floats above their heads on his back, Stitch and Angel interlace their clawed fingers as they hold each other's paws, and Sample locks his fingers together behind his head as a floating pillow as they discuss a playlist for his party later that night. Looking up from their musical exchange, Sparky spots the roof of his beautiful lighthouse gleaming over the dusk lit ocean. "Hey!" The older two-series said loudly. They all look up, "Race ya to the lighthouse!" Sparky shouted as he blasted away toward his home. His electricity tail showering sparks as he soars.
"Oh you're on!" Stitch cracks his neck and loosens his shoulders before lowering himself on all sixes and clawing at the ground. With a deep dig into the road, he launched himself forward with a storm of dust behind him. The dirt and asphalt flicks up with every gallop as he paces with his aerial adversary.
Sparky looks down at the blue dot racing beneath him and charges forward, increasing his electrical output and building up speed. His body lengthens further and condenses into a stronger bolt of living lightning. Turning gets sharper and electricity flashes off his body in radiating strikes.
Watching the race from afar, which is really where it started, Angel and Sample are covered neck deep in dust from Stitch's race. They sneeze and look at each other before digging their way out. Angel gently brushes herself off with her paws and adjusts the white bucket balancing on her head. Her floral pink fur shines in the dusk sun as it slowly sets behind the glistening turquoise ocean.
Sample lowers himself on all four and shakes aggressively, starting from his head down to his fuzzy little tail. All the dirt and dust is thrown off of him and into the air, leaving him fluffy and clean. He takes his hat and flaps it around before setting it back down on his head and separating his speak-ears. He looks back at Angel smiling, but his happiness is short-lived and replaced with mortification. He laughs sheepishly as Angel's pink fur is once again dulled by a thick layer of brown dust. He goes to help dust her off but she holds up an assertive paw.
Sample backs off and holds his paws up apologetically. She shakes herself clean, just like Sample, and brushes her paws off on her knees before walking over to the musical two-series. "Calm down, Sam, y'know I'm not like that. Now, come on. Leh go!"
Angel removes the bucket off her head and hands it to Sample who takes it and clips it onto a belt loop. She offers him her back for a piggyback ride and he smiles awkwardly before hopping on Angel's back. She wraps her antennae around him and takes off, "I'm not as fast as Stitch, but I'm still fast!" She shouted as she bolted down the road.
"Yup, that's- that's pretty fast. It's FAST!" Sample hollard as he hugged Angel's neck and shut his eyes. Angel chuckles as she looks back at her older cousin clutching on to her for dear life. She turns onto a long stretch of road and the lighthouse appears at the ledge of the cliff.
Dirt and pebbles get kicked up as Angel skids to a stop at the base of the towering unlit beacon. She unwinds her antennae wrapped around Sample's torso and he shakily steps off her back. Sample unclips the white bucket off his pants and hands it to Angel as he makes his way to the entrance. She replaces her white pail on her head while she follows Sample through the door and slows the door's close with her antenna.
They make it to the top of the stairs and the entrance of the living space. Sample hesitates to knock, "I'm kinda nervous, yeah?"
"Yeah, a bit, meeting new people, especially nephews. You think they'll like us?"
"Yeah?" Sample shrugged, "Hopefully. I think they will."
Sample takes a quick deep breathe and raises his knuckles to the door. He knocks twice before twisting the knob and pushing the door open with his opposite paw. They push the door open and immediately see Stitch sitting on the couch smiling giddily and looking at them.
"Angel!" Stitch whispered, exchanging looks between his boojiboo and the two little balls of fluff sleeping on his lap. Zirconia pulls the door open wider, inviting the late guests in. Sample gives her a hug and walks further inside their apartment. Zirconia shuts the door behind them and gets pulled into a hug by Angel.
Sample walks over to Sparky and stands next to him, as they look at their blue cousin sitting on the couch with their nephews. "Holy crash Sparks!" Sample whispered, "I- I- I..." Without words, he pats Sparky on the back, congratulating him, and sits down next to Stitch on the couch.
"They're so adorable!" Stitch exclaimed quiently, careful not to wake them. Sample nods and holds his arms out. Stitch looks to Sparky for confirmation and he responds with a "yeah" face and mimes giving it to Sample.
Stitch delicately passes one of the sleeping twins to the older two-hundred series. He sets the sleeping pup in Sample's paws and he coos hard, yet silently. He bites his lip as he looks between Sparky and Zirconia with tears forming in his eyes. Resting in his paws is the beautiful first experiment born son, and the beginning of a new generation.
A shining coat of blue-yellow fur glints in the setting sun peering through the window, and two blue forked antennae with a band of pink near the fork of the left curls against his back. A pink-brown nose on the point of a stout snout and a crooked yellow tail laced with light pink bands. Yellow conical ears like his father, and two small turquoise crystals on his collarbones and a larger teardrop-shaped crystal rests in between, like his mom. The second on Stitch's lap is similar, but with a pink band on his right antenna.
