This Night
Chapter 197
Author's Note: I seem to be on a roll. You aren't complaining are you? Didn't think so! After they get out of Terminus, they'll be a couple chapters of bonding and of course a Rick and Jewel chapter before they find the priest. Shocking right? That I would go off script? Oh wait…I do that all the time. It really should be shocking if I stayed on script! LOL. Please review. Love all of them!
Train Car A:
Jewel kissed Rick as she took off her jacket and ripped the lining off. "Anyone need knives?"
Rick had to chuckle. "Glad you're on our side. Grab anything you can to make a weapon, get ready for when they come. Jewel you keep watch," he said as he kissed you.
Jewel looked at him. "You're kidding right? I'm not moving ten steps away from you. Daryl," she instructed her brother.
"Got it. She gets real mean after she gives birth, I feel real sorry for these pricks," Daryl said as he moved to the window.
"They found Mika and me, a few miles from here. We were on the bus, it crashed," Jewel explained as she handed the knives to the women. "In your boots. Carl, you too."
"We found the bus, we cleared it out looking for you and Glenn," Ronnie told her.
"I don't know how we survived, I woke up with Mika shaking me. We got weapons and food, and water, we made it to a hotel the first night. I knew I might be in labor but I didn't tell Mika, I didn't want to worry her. We saw the signs, we knew if anyone of you saw them, that's where we were heading. I found a car, we managed to make it half a day til the piece of crap ran out of gas. I left markings, markings that Daryl or Merle would recognize, which is how Jes and him knew they were on the right track. We were going to come through the back gate, but I had to stop, that's when they found us. They seemed real nice, the guy Martin had them bring a truck, Mary and a crazy bat named Clarisse came out with Gareth. Brought me back here, took Mika and I in a room in the back, I gave birth to Hope within a couple hours. I knew there was something wrong when I woke up and Clarisse had the baby in her arms. Bad vibes, but I knew I had to bide my time. They left us pretty much alone, then Jes got here about two days later. Convinced them that she was with them, that she agreed with what they were, they trusted her, let her take charge of me. I never seen Jes so messed up as when she came back from being shown around. I knew that I had to be able to move, get ready to fight, so when she came back after Glenn and everyone got here, we walked around. We were giving you a day or two at the most. Jes saw you come in the back, that's when I knew we needed to move. I knew you all were going to notice the belongings. Jes made sure that she planted the ideas in people's heads, that they could use the bag, the poncho, other things," Jewel said.
"Glad she's on our side," Michonne said with a small smile.
"Mrs. Grimes, if I may say, motherhood definitely endowed you," Eugene said.
Rosita shook her head. "Eugene," she said.
Jewel glanced up at him. "No, you definitely may not say that. I'm going to forget you said that, and for your sake, I'd not say it again," she said.
"They seemed nice enough, like you said," Abraham told them. "We just got here, but damn it was time to go. When I told them about DC, a wink and a nod from the lead asshole in charge, they pulled their guns and it was back to our regularly scheduled shit storm," he said.
"Before you got in here did you see Tyreese?" Sasha asked.
"No," Michonne answered.
"That's good," Lexi said.
"Daryl and I were with Beth for a while," Axel told Maggie.
"Black car with white cross on it, we tried to follow it, we tried," Daryl told her.
"I made him stop, we couldn't keep up," Axel admitted.
"But she's alive?" Maggie asked.
"She's alive," Daryl told her.
Jewel did a count in her head. "Did anyone see Judith? Hershel? Summer? Joey?"
"The Governor killed Hershel," Carl reported.
Jewel took a breath as she looked at Maggie. "I'm sorry."
"Judith's carrier….it was bloody," Carl told her.
Lexi punched his arm. "She can still be alive. You thought they were all gone, but here they are."
Jewel faked a hurt look. "You gave up on us Carl Grimes? I'm hurt!"
"Sorry!" Carl told her.
"Last time Merle and I saw Summer, she had went out to try to help Joey, Michonne and Rick," Daryl said.
Jewel nodded. "Well I know where two, no three of my kids. Sorry Rick, I kinda adopted Mika…" she admitted.
Rick shook his head. "I wouldn't have it any other way," he said as he kissed her. He brushed his lips against her ear. "Motherhood definitely endowed you."
Jewel shook her head. "Love you."
"Love you too," Rick said as he squeezed her hand.
"We've got four pricks heading our way," Daryl reported.
Rick stood up. "You know what to do, go for there eyes first, then their throats."
"Put your backs to the walls on either side of car now!" a man's voice said as they heard footsteps on the roof.
Ronnie and Abe both saw the canister come down from the ceiling at the same time. "MOVE!" Abe yelled as everyone moved back.
Carol, Tyreese, Joey and Summer's POV:
Summer pulled her hair up under the cap as she walked to the small cabin as she heard voices. "They're here."
"Who else do you have? Do you know there names?" Tyreese asked.
"We just have the boy and the samurai, that's it," the unknown voice said.
"I don't believe you," Carol said.
Summer and Joey stepped on the porch and in the door. "So you got one of them too huh? Ours was a little bit more helpful," Joey said as he looked at the man. "Recognize the hat?" he asked as he nodded toward Summer.
"Sloan, where is she?" Martin asked.
"Dead," Summer told him as she took Judith from Ty. "We got a new brother or sister, ladybug! You're going to stay with Ty, cause Carol, Joey and I got a rescue mission to attend too," she said as she kissed the babies head and handed her back to Ty.
"Look we were just protecting ourselves, it doesn't matter what Sloan said. It's just the samurai and the kid. And the woman with the baby, she was in labor. I was the one who found her. Look there's a bunch of us in six different directions. There was a bunch of gun fire back home," Martin said.
"Because you were hoarding our family into cattle cars for a slaughter," Joey told him.
Summer took her father's gun out from her gun holster. "Recognize it?" she asked Carol.
"Rick's gun," Carol said.
"They've got most of the family, including Sasha and Lexi," Summer said as she cast a glance at Martin.
"We need to set off the charges all at the same time to confuse the dead away. That's good for you too!" Martin told them.
Carol zipped up the bag they had taken from Martin. "No it isn't. There's a herd heading toward Terminus right now. We don't want to confuse them away. We're going to need there help."
"It's a compound, they'll see you coming. If you even make it with all the cold bodies heading over," Martin informed them.
"We'll make it," Summer told him.
Tyreese looked at them and lowered his voice. "How are you gonna do this?"
Carol exchanged looks with Summer and Joey. "We're going to kill people."
Joey squeezed Ty's shoulder. "You gonna be alright here with him?"
"I'll do what needs to be done," Ty said as he closed the door behind them.
Joey hesitated on the porch. "Hey, do you two think you can handle this? I just think I should hang back. Ty isn't going to be able to do what needs to be done. Plus I can take out any walkers that come this way. I'll stay a little way out, you guys get in trouble, signal me. If Ty needs me, then I'm here. Plus I wouldn't want to steal the thunder of the Ramboettes," he said with a smirk.
Summer kissed him. "We'll be back, with the rest of our family," she said as she walked away with Carol. "Jes was there with mom and Mika and the baby. Mom had Jes take Mika and the baby, get them out. Why wouldn't mom go with them, get out when she could?"
"Summer, you know your mother. She's strong. She just had a baby, she isn't going to be able to move as fast. If she thought the best thing to do was have Jes get on the outside, while she warned our people, knowing they'd have help, then that was the best thing to do," Carol told her as she nodded to two walkers. "I'm glad I brought an extra poncho for you," she said with a smile.
Summer took down both walkers and made a face. "You know, maybe you can do this on your own. I mean…seriously this was something I hoped I'd never have to do," she said as she put on the poncho. "This is so disgusting," she said as she started to smear guts over herself.
Carl gave a small smile. "You almost sounded like a teenager there. We'll get them," she assured her.
