This Night

Chapter 198

Author's Note: I really want them out of Terminus, can't you tell? It may be a week til I get to post again, with work and son home from college, it takes a way from writing time! But I've been on a roll this weekend! Review please.

Jewel, Rick, Bob, Daryl and Glenn's POV:

Jewel blinked a few times as she tried to focus. She wasn't in the train car anymore, she knew that. As she regained her focus, she saw Rick, Bob, Daryl, Glenn and four other men hogtied and gagged across for her. Her hands were bound, but her mouth wasn't. These assholes were going to make her watch. "Rick! Look at me! Daryl, Glenn, Bob!" Jewel hissed at him. She felt the gun go to her head.

"Don't make me shoot you," Claire hissed at her. "If I had my way, you'd be the first one on to be bled out. But Gareth and Dad pointed out that when we find the baby, she's going to need you around for the first year, then I get the privilege of doing it."

"We have a bet that after watching all your friends die, you'll join us," Gareth told her.

Jewel met Rick's eyes then turned her head and looked at Gareth. "You don't have that long to live," she assured Gareth as she met eyes with her family.

Gareth laughed and shook his head. "You have to much faith in your friend Jes," he told her. "Hey guys what are your shout counts?" he asked.

Jewel closed her eyes and made herself stand still as she watched the first guy on get his throat split. She tried to focus on her family, and prayed to whoever was above that Merle and Jes would make there move soon.

"Open your eyes," Claire told her. "Do it, or I'll have them move to your precious Rick now," she said. "You shouldn't feel bad for them you know? They're providing for you to live."

"You're insane, you know that?" Jewel asked. "I'm going to kill you today."

"Don't make threats," Claire hissed at her.

Jewel glared at her. "Oh it's a promise."

" Claire, don't let her rile you up. She's got no control. What's your shot count?" Gareth asked the men again.

"Thirty Eight," the man in the butcher coat answered.

"Yours?" he asked the other man.

"Crap man, I'm sorry. It's my first roundup," the man said apologetically.

Jewel could easily grab her knife from her waste band, and take crazy bat out, but she knew she needed to wait. She kept her gaze on Rick. They'd get through this, together.

"After you're done here, go back to your point, and count the shells. Kaylee won't be gathering them until tomorrow," Gareth instructed.

Bob struggled and kept talking through his gag. "Let me talk to you," he said.

"Four from A, four from D," Gareth asked.

"Yeah," the man answered as he moved to the second guy.

"Let me talk to you," Bob repeated.

"What?" Gareth said as he took off Bob's gag.

"Don't do this, we can fix this," Bob said.

"No, you can't," Gareth answered.

"We told you there's a way out of this, you just have to take a chance. We have a man who knows how to stop it. He has a cure, we just have to get him to Washington. You don't have to do this, man. We can put the world back to how it was," Bob pleaded.

"Can't go back Bob," Gareth said as he replaced Bob's gag. He bent down in front of Rick. "We saw you go into the woods with a bag and come out without it. Had to pull my spotters back before we could look for it," he said. "I think that's how Jes escaped, because you guys distracted us by coming in the back. We underestimated her. Won't be making that mistake again. What was in the bag? You hid it right? In case things went bad?" Gareth questioned as he nodded. "Smart. Still we'll find it, just like we are going to find that bitch Jes and that happy go lucky girl, Mika. And that baby girl of yours. We'll take real good care of her. We'll find them, but it's to dangerous to go out there right now. What was in the bag Rick? I'm curious," he asked as he grabbed Bob and pulled his head down. "Are you going to make me do this? It would probably mean more if I threatened Jewel huh? But, we need her," he said.

"Well, let me take you out there, I'll show you," Rick offered.

"Not gonna happen but this might," Gareth said as he put the knife to Bob's eye.

"There's guns in it. AK-47, automatic weapons, a night scope. Compound bow. And a machete with a red handle. That's what I'm going to use to kill you with," Rick promised.

Gareth stood up and chuckled. "Thanks. You have two hours to get them on the driers. Let Jewel here watch before you put her in train car D. Isolate her so she doesn't tell the others. I'm gonna go back to the public face. Now's the time to get messy, but we need to dial it all down by sundown. Got it?" he asked.

"Yes sir," both said as they heard gun fire.

Jewel locked eyes with Rick as she realized what was happening.

Joey and Ty's POV:

Ty looked over at Joey. "You should have went with Carol and Summer. I can handle Judith."

Joey looked at him then at Martin. "It's not Judith I'm worried about you handling, Ty."

Martin looked at them. "The baby she's yours or something?" he asked Joey.

"She's a friend," Ty answered.

"Huh," Martin sighed. "I don't have friends. I mean I know people, they're just assholes that I live with. The other two? Now the younger one, you and her have something going right?" he asked Joey.

"Shut up," Joey warned.

"I used to have friends, I used to watch football on Sunday's, went to Church," Martin rattled on and laughed. "I know I did. But I can't picture it anymore. It's funny how you don't even notice the time go by. Horrible shit just stacks up day after day. You get used to it," he rattled on.

"I haven't got used to it," Tyreese answered as he got Judith situated.

"Of course you haven't. You're the kind of guy who saves babies. It's kind of like saving an anchor when you're stuck without a boat in the middle of the ocean. Been behind some kind of walls right? You're still around right, but you haven't got to get your hands dirty," Martin told him.

"And what can you tell about me? You think I'm a good guy?" Joey asked. "You have no idea what any of us have done to survive."

"You're a good guy," Martin said as he directed his attention back to Tyreese. "That's why you're gonna die today, the baby, this one," he said. "Or you can get in that car and get out of here and keep on getting lucky."

"You think you're going to kill me?" Ty asked as he stood up.

"Why haven't you? How does it help you keeping me alive?" Martin asked.

"I'm asking myself that question right now. Ty, they have our family, your sisters in a train car, they were planning on slaughtering them. Jewel, she had the baby, another innocent life, like Judith. Mika and Jes got out, with the baby. Right now, they are planning on slaughtering the people we love," Joey told him as he turned around and looked at Martin. "We are going to survive, while you and your people die because unlike you, we are friends. No we are family. Summer killed your buddy Sloan. She gave her a choice of how she wanted to die, eaten by the walkers' or a knife through the head. All she had to do was sing like a canary. We know who you have, we know where they are being held. The ONLY reason I'm not ending your life right now is because I may need to chop off your arms and pull your teeth to give us some protection from the walkers out there. Say another damn word, I'll put a bullet through your heart and wait for you to turn. I'm not the good guy, Martin, and you know it," he warned.

Carol and Summer's POV:

Summer took a couple deep breaths to keep from throwing up from the smell of the walker blood on her poncho. She followed Carol to the gates and bent down. They both watched as Glenn, Rick, Daryl and Bob were hog tied and gagged and dragged away. They then watched a woman bind Jewel's wrist as she was pulled away. Carol motioned Summer to move down further to the fence area. They both put the bags down they were carrying from under there ponchos and both took aim at people through the scopes. Carol scoped out the area and held up a finger at Summer and nodded toward the gas tank. She sat a rifle down and opened up the bag and took out one of the firecrackers and put it in one of the rifles. She stood up and pointed to the gas tank as she got ready to light the firecracker. She nodded at Summer to take the shot.

Summer readied her rifle and aimed. She fired one shot, missing the tank then took another, hitting it right so steam was aiming through the fence. She glanced at Carol, who lit the TNT and pushed Summer to the ground and covered her with her body as it exploded. "I'm really glad you're back where you belong," Summer whispered to Carol.

Carol helped Summer up and both started to walk with the crowd of walkers' into Terminus. Carol tilted her head at Summer and both gave each other a knowing nod. They would split up when they got inside, neither one of them would hesitate to kill anyone who got into there way. The main priority was to find the five that was taken and where they were taken too. They would have a better chance to find them separately and then get to the rest of the group.

Rick, Daryl, Bob, Glenn and Jewel's POV:

Gareth blinked as he got up off his feet after the explosion.

"Gareth, we got problems, you need to get your ass out here now," Grayson's voice came on the radio.

"You stay here," Gareth instructed the men. "Keep her here," he told Clarisse.

"Hey these guys aren't going anywhere!" the butcher man said.

"Stay here til I find out what's going on!" Gareth yelled at them as he went out the door.

Jewel had managed to get her knife out from her waist band and worked on her the binding of her hands. She noticed Claire getting up from the ground and reaching for the gun that fell out of her hands. Jewel kicked it out of reach then used her leg to trip Claire. She got her hands undone as she heard commotion behind her and used the distraction to turn Claire over to where she was facing her as she undid her hands. "You crazy, psychotic, bitch," she said as she hit her. "You think you can take my baby and raise her as your own? You picked the wrong momma bear to pick on you crazy bat," she said as she punched her again.

"Please don't…you don't have to," Claire begged.

"I don't have to what? I don't have to kill you?" Jewel asked as she picked her head up off the ground by her hair. "I made you a promise, I promised I'd kill you today," she said as she slammed her head down on the concrete. "And a Dixon doesn't break promises!" Jewel hissed as she did it again. "YOU think I want to do this? You think I want to sink down to your level? YOU made me do this," she said as she slammed the dead woman's head down again.

"Jewel, hey," Rick said as he bent down in front of her. "Hey look at me, come back to me," he said as he caressed her face. "She's dead, they're all dead. We need to get out of here, we need to go get the rest of the family. Hey, focus on me alright?"

"Rick…I…" Jewel blinked as she looked him then the other three men.

Rick kissed her as he helped her stand up. "I know. It's alright. Let's get out of here. We have to get back to A," he said. "Don't hesitate to kill anyone of them, they won't you."

"Rick," Glenn said as he noticed a figure coming into the room.

"If you're rescuing the rest of the family, you might need this," Summer said as she held the Python up to him.

Rick pulled her into a hug. "How?" he asked.

"Long story, right now we got family to rescue," Summer said with a grin.

"Summer Grace, you better give me a hug," Jewel said as she pulled her oldest into a hug. "Let's go rescue our family," she said.

"Summer, you stay near your mother," Daryl instructed as they walked into a room where they're were pieces of meat hanging. They all looked at each other knowing how close they came.

Author's Note: Jewel went a little Rick crazy there. Seriously the woman just almost saw her brother, her friends and her husband butchered and crazy bat was ranting and raving about raising her baby. Yeah, I think she deserved it. Plus it gave us a little Rick and Jewel togetherness!
