Chapter 199

Author's Note: Glad you all are liking my changes! Of course, after almost 200 chapters (Seriously I just started this in November, wow I write a lot!) and close to 800 reviews, I guess I'm doing something right! Now let's get these guys all together! Review please.

Train Car A:

Abe slammed his hands against the door. "What the hell is going on?"

"Someone hit them," Michonne said.

"Maybe our people got free," Sasha said.

"Could be the rest of our group," Mitch offered as he looked up.

"He's right, you know. We all had the same idea, we all headed toward the one place we knew we'd find the others," Lexi offered. "We know Jes and Merle are out there."

"Excuse me," Eugene said as he pushed between the group.

"What the hell are you doing?" Rosita asked.

"I might be able to use this shell to compromise the door. From the sound of things, they may not be anybody to open it," Eugene said.

Mar looked at him. "Where did you pick this guy up?"

"I'm sorry Eugene, but shut up," Tara said.

"Hey, my dad and Jewel are gonna be back. They all are," Carl said.

"He's right, they all are," Maggie said. "And we need to be ready to fight our way out with them when they do," she said.

Ronnie looked up to the top of the train car where the gas was thrown. "Mitch come here," she instructed. "You're the smallest and Abe you're the biggest. You can hold him on your shoulders."

Mar looked up. "You don't think we can open it from inside, do you?"

Ronnie shrugged. "I've never tried to escape from a train car before. We need to try everything right?"

"Maybe use one of the knives to try to pry it open," Maggie said.

"You're not going to make me order you, are you Sgt. Ford?" Ronnie asked.

"No ma'am,," Abe answered. "Come on," he said as he lifted Mitch on his shoulders.

"Here," Lexi said as she handed a knife to Abe to hand to Mitch.

Sasha stopped working and looked at Eugene. "What's the cure?"

"It's classified," Eugene answered.

"We don't know what's gonna happen," Michonne said as she worked.

"You all leave him alone," Abraham told them.

"We need to keep working," Maggie said.

"Yeah but it's time to hear it, because we don't know what's gonna happen next," Sasha said.

"What's next is we're gonna get out of here," Tara said.

"Mitch, be careful with that knife," Mar warned.

"Even if I told you all, even if I provided step by step instructions complete with instructions and a well composed FAQ and I went red ring, the cure would die with me," Eugene said.

"I'm not gonna let that happen," Abe told him.

Ronnie looked at him. "You know I'm a Doctor right? That requires some brain cells to understand complicated formulas and figure stuff out. Maybe you could share some of it, and maybe just maybe I'd understand some of it."

"I seriously doubt it," Eugene said. "The best case scenario, we step out into a hellstorm of bullets, fire and walkers. I'm not fleet of foot. I sure the hell can't take a dead one down with sharp buttons and confidence," he said.

"You really don't want to give him a gun," Mitch said.

"Yeah but we can and we will," Michonne said.

Axel nodded. "Trust me they are good at that."

Mitch looked down at him. "We're good at that."

"Since you'll be depending on us, we have a right to know," Lexi said.

"You don't owe us anything, not yet, but we just want to hear it," Sasha told him.

"You don't have to," Rosita told him.

Eugene looked at them. "I was part of a ten person team at the Human Genome project to weaponize diseases to fight weaponized diseases. Pathogenic microorganisms with pathogenic microorganisms. Fire with fire. Interdepartmental drinks were had, relationships made, information shared. I am keenly aware of all the details behind fail-safe delivery systems to kill every living person on this planet. I believe with a little tweaking on the terminals in DC, we can flip the script. Take out every last dead one of them. Fire with fire. All things being equal, it does sound pretty badass," Eugene told them.

"So let's get back to work," Maggie told them.

Rick's Group POV:

Rick stopped the group as they heard a pounding coming from train car B. "If we run, we can get by them. They're distracted," he said as he nodded to the walkers.

"We've got to let those people out," Glenn said. "That's still who we are. It's got to be," he said.

"He's right, Rick. It's what makes us better then these people. We can't leave others that got duped into this place behind," Jewel told him.

Rick looked at her and nodded. "Alright, Summer you stay with her," he instructed as they went to move.

Jewel shook her head. "We do this together, we all stay together," she told him.

Daryl glanced at Rick. "She's got a point, Rick."

Rick kissed her and gave a small smile. "She always does, most of them are good ideas," he said as he nodded. "Jewel stays between us, if she starts to fall behind, one of us grabs her."

Jewel glared at him about to say something before Bob put his hand on her arm. "You did just have a baby within the past week, and we all want to meet her. But we also want to get her momma back to her, safe and sound, so that means we keep you safe. It's what we do," Bob told her.

Summer nodded. "Plus, your older children want you around too."

"Not to mention your brothers, and maybe Rick even wants you around," Daryl joked.

Jewel nodded as they made there way the train car and Rick opened the door and a bearded man came out. "We're all the same!" he yelled as he turned his attention to Glenn.

"Get off," Rick yelled at him as a walker took him down.

Glenn moved from behind the box car and started hitting the walker with a baseball bat as Daryl quickly pulled him back.

"We got to double back," Bob said as he looked out at the walkers and humans.

"A is that way, if we double back we don't know where we are," Rick told them.

"We don't really have a choice do we?" Daryl asked.

"I know how to get back. Jes drew maps of this place had Mika and I memorize them," she explained as she saw the looks on there faces.

Rick looked at them. "Wait here," he said as he took off.

"RICK!" Jewel and Bob yelled after him.

"Dad!" Summer yelled.

Jewel looked at Daryl. "Go with him," she ordered as she leaned against the box car.

"Hurting?" Bob asked.

"I'm fine," Jewel told them.

Glenn squeezed her hand as he glanced to where Rick had grabbed a rifle off a living person and took down walkers and humans. "You'll get to rest after this. We'll find a place," Glenn assured her.

"I know," Jewel told Glenn as Rick and Daryl came back. "Don't you ever do that again! Don't ever go alone anywhere. Don't take off like that again! Do you understand me Rick?" she hissed at him.

Rick kissed her. "I understand. Can you hold off on the yelling til we get out of here? Til I get to meet my baby? Til we get the others out of that train car? You can yell as much as you like then," Rick assured her as he touched her face. "Bob," he said as he handed him a gun. "We don't have to double back."

"Mom's hurting," Summer told Rick.

"Can you make it?" Rick asked as he looked at Jewel.

"I can," she said as she took out her knives.

"Dad, I got to go back. I didn't come alone and I'm not leaving alone. You get the rest of them out of here, we'll meet you outside. I have to do this," Summer pleaded.

"I'll stay with her," Daryl offered.

"No, they need you fighting. I got this. I swear, I got in didn't I? I'll get out. Go!" Summer told them as she ran the other direction.

Rick looked at Jewel and both nodded. Rick took out the walkers' and the butchers' as he ran to the train car and opened the door. He got back off the stairs and let everyone get out. "Fight to the fences!" he told the group. "Carl, Lexi, you both stay with Jewel. Go, go, go," he ordered at the group as they fought there way. He turned his head at the sound of a whistle and looked at the fence.

"Did someone call for a rescue party?" Jes asked as she took a shot at a walker. "Come on," she yelled. "Jewel first," she yelled as she looked at Rosita who killed a walker at the fence. "Friendly?"

"Yeah she's one of us," Jewel said as she grimaced to climb the fence.

"Here," Rosita said as she helped her over.

"Where are they?" Jewel asked frantically, looking at Jes.

"Over there, right past the clearing with Merle. Go on," Jes told her as Jewel started to run.

Merle grinned as he saw her coming. "Missing a couple cubs, momma bear?" he asked as he hugged her one handed. "Only a Dixon could give birth then less than a week later, they are kicking ass."

Jewel had tears in her eyes as she bent down and hugged Mika and took Hope. "How was she?"

"Real good, Merle's calling her little Hell Raiser," Mika answered with a grin. "She'll be hungry soon. I changed her diaper, which was real challenging in a tree, but we did it," she said proudly.

Merle shook his head as Rick and the group came into view. "Officer Friendly, you and I are gonna be having a real serious talk about how hiding a bag in case something happens and not leaving someone behind. Luckily for you debases, I was here to save the day," he said as he glanced at Daryl. "You should know better, you're getting to soft baby brother."

Jewel smiled as she stood up and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Merle, none of that," she said as she looked at Rick. "Say hello to daddy, Hope."

Rick looked at her then at the baby. "Hello sweet girl," he said softly as he placed a kiss on the top of the babies forehead. "Mika, Jewel told me what you did for her, for the baby, thank you," he said as he took out a weapon.

"So what's the plan Rick? We going to take the rest of these assholes out?" Jes questioned.

"We got out, it's over," Rosita pointed out.

Mar touched the babies face. "The last person we left alive, came after us, forced us out of our home, with a tank. I don't even want to imagine what these guys would be capable of."

"Summer's still in there, Rick. And who ever she went back to get. I'm not leaving her," Jewel told him.

"We need to cut our losses, we barely got out. I'm not dicking around with this crap," Abraham said.

Mitch shook his head. "Oh, dude, you said the wrong thing."

Jewel gently passed the baby to Mar. "Yes, mommy needs to set a couple things straight with the overgrown radish," she said softly. She went over to him. "Let's get something straight, right here, right now. Summer is MY child, MY daughter. We don't cut our losses, we don't leave someone behind. She was in there to save us, and she saved you and your precious Eugene. So you better just shut your mouth, or you are going to regret it. I can kick your ass, and if I have trouble doing it, I'll just kick you in the balls, make you double over in pain, then let my brothers handle it. BUT, just to make it clear, I've never had to have my brothers fight for me, I fight with them," she said as she turned around.
