Chapter 5: Tears of Sorrow

Gold's Shop

"She's got Emma, what are we going to do now?" David asked as he folded his arms across his chest, looking at Regina, as matter of fact, everyone was looking at Regina at this moment and the mayor wasn't feeling very comfortable about that, only because she had no answer to give them.

"Why is everyone looking at me?" She asked, defensive.

"Well, usually you know what to do and since she is your other half, you are probably the only one who knows what she would be up to by taking Emma and turning her into the Dark One," David pointed out without realizing that he slightly hurt Regina by saying that the Evil Queen was her other half, which was completely true but Regina didn't want people to keep reminding her about that and she didn't want them to keep remembering about her as the Evil Queen either.

"Well, I am not some kind of god or miracle worker. I don't have all the answers," Regina said a bit too much defensive, making David just raise his hands in a surrender manner knowing that he probably just hit a nerve.

"I think the obvious answer right now would be that she wants to destroy Storybrooke since she couldn't destroy the Enchanted Forest," Zelena said while caressing the small hand of her child who still was attached to hip, quietly watching everything. "But I can't understand why she would want Emma, and the strength and spell it takes to turn someone into the Dark One, she is probably going to be in bed rest for a few days so maybe we should attack as soon as possible," Zelena pointed out and Regina looked at her sister, relieved that someone else had the same knowledge as her. Finding the answers about this mater would be easier with someone else who had deep knowledge about magic.

"Yes, that seems like a reasonable plan, but before we find her, we need to plan a strategy in case that she isn't as weak as we think she is," Regina was about to continue with her plan if her own son hadn't interrupted.

"What do we do if ma' turns against us?" Henry asked, with a low voice, very scared to ask such a thing because he didn't know the harsh answer.

"Henry…" Regina looked at her son, a bit shocked, she hadn't even thought about that because in her head even if Emma was the Dark one, she was still Emma. "Oh, Henry," she mumbled as she approached her child and grabbed his shoulders, continuing, "as long as we find Emma soon, she won't turn against us, the darkness won't consume her that quickly. We just have to keep the dagger away from the Evil Queen's hands and then your mother will be safe," Regina reassured her son, and reassured herself because she didn't want to think about the worst right now.

"Okay," Henry nodded at her words, hoping they were true.

"What is going to happen to Rumple, Regina?" Belle asked, fully aware that everyone else was mostly worried about Emma and taking care of the Evil Queen but her true love was unconscious, and she feared that he would never wake up again.

"I am not quite sure, Belle. Perhaps he will survive this situation just like Emma did, but either way we will find Emma as soon as possible and try to put things back to normal, only Rumple can handle the Dark One's thoughts and desires without giving in to them," Regina informed as she put her hands to her hips and stared at the older man lying down with his eyes closed. Despite being an old son of a bitch, he changed a lot and the brunette couldn't judge him at all because she did what he did or maybe even worse.

Belle held her owns hands together in front of her chest and leaned her chin against it as she watched Rumple. "I hope so," she mumbled, really hoping Rumple would be back soon so she could have her family together again.

"Now, everyone!" Regina exclaimed as she looked at Zelena, Henry and David, knowing full well that Belle would stay here to be by her lover's side. "Let's come up with a strategy to do this and I know a few potions that could be useful back at my vault so that's where we should head first," she pointed out, very serious and when she looked at the door to start walking forward, it finally hit her. "My vault!" Of course, that would be the first place that her evil self would go to, how come she didn't think of that sooner?

"Mom!?" Henry exclaimed confused and ran after his mother because she just bolted out of the store and both Zelena and David followed her as well.

"She is probably in my vault! That's the only place where she can-" Before Regina could finish her sentence, a strong gust of wind hit them right outside, in front of the store, that almost made them stumble backwards.

Outside – In front of Gold's Store

"Why, hello, hello my dear enemies," the evil queen chuckled as she announced her presence with a dramatic entrance and as the purple smoked began to disperse, everyone could see that Emma was by her side, with her Dark One appearance already on.

"Ma!" Henry gasped out in shock as he stretched out his arm towards her, as if he could grab his blonde mother and bring her to safety.

"Let Emma go!" David yelled out as he stepped forward, getting in front of Regina, feeling very sure of himself even thought he didn't have any kind of weapon right now for this battle.

"Feeling bold, are we?" The Evil Queen perked up an eyebrow at David's boldness and then with just a flick of her wrist, she sent him flying across the street, his back smashing against the walls of a store.

"Granpa!" Henry screamed as he ran towards his grandfather, to make sure he would be okay.

"Don't hurt them," Emma snarled as she kept herself close to the Evil Queen. She actually had her front facing the brunette's side, her body already pressing against her side, but Emma had no choice in the position she was right now. She really didn't want to be this close to the other woman, but she had utterly control over her movements. She just hoped that her friends and family wouldn't think that she had already turned her back on them, because she would never do that, she'd fight for death if she had to. She wasn't going to let the darkness consume her again, like before.

"Emma, please, I am discussing some important things right now, having people yell over my words is unnecessary," the evil queen said with a dramatic sigh at the end of her words, but not looking at Emma. Just staring at her other self, seeing the pure anger in her eyes, even if the evil side was gone, there was still so much anger within the mayor and that was wonderful for the evil queen, anything to let her other self know that she was never meant to be pure, that even if the evil queen side of her is gone, she is still capable of evil things when angry.

"You said you weren't going to hurt all of them. Leave my family out of this," Emma said with almost clenched teeth because she was trying to fight against her own body, she wanted it to move, she wanted to fight back but the control was too strong.

"You will eventually see who I will spare," she said, quickly dismissing the savior's words, not wanting to bother herself anymore with this conversation; something else was intriguing her a lot and that was the mayor's glare. She was so going to enjoy this moment. "As you all can see, I turned Emma into the Dark One and she is now under my control. Which was fairly easy, surprisingly Emma just gave in so easily to me," the Evil Queen said with a smirk as she turned her head, her nose almost brushing Emma's, they were very close and that's exactly what she wanted, but before she could kiss the blondie in order to piss off her enemies, somebody had to interrupt her.

"Why do you need Emma to do this? There was already a Dark One before," Regina said as she took a step forward, preparing herself to use her magic if needed.

"Rumple could be very useful too, I know he is old and all but still, it's definitely easier to use him than to turn somebody else into one," Zelena added keeping herself behind her sister, not daring to get defiant or else she would put her daughter's safety in danger.

"Is that a baby?" The Evil Queen opted to ignore everything else when she noticed that her sister was holding a child no more than one year old. "What's her name?"

Zelena knew that the queen was taunting her, but she was still taking it seriously because god knows what this woman is capable of doing in order to get what she wants. "None of your business, that's what," she spat out.

"I won't let you touch her," Regina said as she rose her hands, fire balls already forming on top of her palms.

"We will see about that," the evil queen said not very amused as she grabbed Emma's arm and forced her to be in front of her, as a human shield. "Try and hurt me, dear Regina," she darkly chuckled.

And Regina was forced to freeze on the spot because there was no way she was going to hurt Emma. "Regina, do it. Make a huge one and do it, she is weak right now, I know she is, this is your chance," Emma informed her and that made the Evil Queen snap. "I command you, Dark One, to keep quiet till I tell otherwise," and with that Emma wasn't able to say anything else even thought she was trying her hard to, you could see the veins on her neck standing out. She wanted to scream for the mayor to just do it.

"Emma, I can't…" Regina whispered as she stared at the sheriff with fear in her eyes. She wasn't capable of doing such thing to her son's mother. Emma was dear to her, she wasn't fully aware of how dear this woman was to her, but she was aware that she was dear enough for her to not be able to harm her in any kind of way. – And green eyes stared into brown eyes, almost pleading to just do it while on the other side there was just fear and pain, it was too clear that Regina wasn't going forward with this attack.

"This is too easy," the evil Queen chuckled as she wrapped her arms slowly around Emma's figure, and placed her chin on top of her shoulder. "In order to get to me, you will have to go through her first and trust me, she will become a very loyal pet and we both will destroy Storybrooke," she said with a big evil grin and rose her chin proudly while digging her nails onto Emma's clothes, letting the blonde woman know that she belonged to her, whether she wanted it or not. "Now, Emma, go get me that baby," she ordered while letting her go and Emma took a step forward, clenching her fists trying to fight against the control.

"Emma don't do this, just fight it. You know you can fight against it," Regina almost begged, "you can fight it, please," her voice became slightly shaky as her eyes teary, she hated to see the savior in this form in front of her, she didn't want to go through this again and she knew how messed up Emma got from the last time she turned into the Dark One and turned back. It was all very hard on her and the mayor didn't want the sheriff to go through this experience all over again.

Emma couldn't react, she wanted to let Regina know that she wasn't going to hurt any of them, but she just couldn't do anything that wasn't the Evil Queen's orders.

"Just move out of the way," the evil queen said very annoyed as she flicked her wrist and sent Regina flying across the street as well, only leaving Zelena right in front of them. "Don't make this harder than it has to be, red. Just hand over the child."

"Like hell I am going to give you my child. Regina might not be able to hurt Emma, but I don't have any problems with that if it means protecting my baby," Zelena spat out as she used her magic against Emma.

And Emma felt a strong blow against her stomach which made her fall on her knees and clutch at it. "How dare you to hurt what's mine?!" The Evil Queen yelled out as she used her magic to start strangling Zelena, slowly raising her in the air and choking her. She was very angry and didn't realize that she was lifting Zelena a little way too high, all she cared about right now was just to kill the other witch because nobody was going to injure her pet.

Zelena's view just began to get blurry and she held tightly onto her baby, but the struggle was getting too hard, she was feeling like she was about to die, and her body suddenly got very weak so she dropped her child, which made her scream or try to because that drop would kill the infant.

However, Emma was quick to react and quickly caught the redhead baby who was screaming her lungs out, probably because she got very scared and because now, she wasn't with her mother. Emma tried to gently rock her in her arms and stared down at the baby's face with tears in her own eyes, she couldn't believe she was taking part of this, she just hoped that the Evil Queen wasn't going to do anything bad to the child.

When the Evil queen saw that Emma had caught the child, she decided to let go of Zelena, whose body just dropped loudly on the ground, unconscious. "Now come, Emma, come to me," the evil queen said with such victory and amusement in her tone and Emma simply obeyed, walking back to, apparently, her queen. "You are already so obedient, this is going to be so much fun," she giggled, but instead of sounding cute, she just sounded twisted.

Emma clenched her jaw and kept a protective hold on the child, slightly rocking her, hoping she'd stop crying but she only screamed louder and squirmed in her arms. The poor little child knew she had to get away from there, but she simply wasn't developed enough to do it so.

The Evil Queen's eye twitched at the annoying crying so she used her magic to make the child fall asleep. "What did you do?!" Emma gasped as she stared at the motionless baby in her arms. "Relax, darling, it's only a sleep spell, she is just fine," she said while waving her hand as if dismissing the problem. "Now lets-"

"Wait!" Regina yelled out as she stumbled her way towards them, holding onto her arm, she was sure her shoulder was broken. "Emma, you will be okay. I will-…we will save you and bring back, I promise," Regina said with a broken voice because the pain on her shoulder was too great and also because she didn't want the blonde woman to disappear.

The Evil Queen watched her self and she only wanted to burn the weakling in front of her. "There's no going back. Do you want to know why I turned Emma into the Dark one, Regina?" She grinned, already getting into her taunting mood. "Because there's no one who can save her. Only a true love kiss would stop Emma from obeying to me and ruin my plans…but there's none she can share that kiss with," she said while slowly raising her hand and grabbing Emma's chin who already had her front pressed against her side just like when they first appeared.

"And soon the only person she will have, is me and she will be the most obedient Dark One ever but only to me. She and I share a bond that you might eventually understand what that means," she finished her words with a more dismissed tone, already getting bored of this.

"That's not true! You will never have Emma, she doesn't belong to you!" Regina spat out as she took another step forward, but she wasn't going to try anything, she was smart enough to know if she decided to attack right now, she would die before she could be useful.

"On the contrary, dear, she already does," and with these words the Evil Queen turned her head and pressed her lips against Emma's, who was still immobilized, and then they both vanished into purple smoke. Leaving almost everyone injured over a small encounter and a traumatized Henry.

If her eyes didn't betray her, then Regina saw Emma trying to look at her and she was…crying?

The other chapter was shorter than usual and since it's a more angst fic, it was easier for me to write this pretty quickly and deliver it to you guys.

What do you think the Evil Queen is going to do with Zelena's child? And what do you think our "saviors" are going to do in order to save Emma?
