Chapter 7

"The Rescue Part 2"

Previously on Castle:

Kate had found an unconscious Rick on metal slab. Trying possible everything to get him out of there, Tyson and his men snuck up from behind tying her to a chair. Castle regains consciousness professing his undying love to his one and only, leaving Kate crying as she tries to keep Castle awake. But he was too weak due to blood lose.

Backup Approaching …

Gates, McBride, S.W.A.T. both the Yonkers and 12th approach the warehouse carefully. With every inch surrounded, it was time to take care of 3XK … once and for all.

McBride, "Esposito, Ryan … we've got the entire building surrounded. We're entering the building … stay low and alert." Espo, Ryan, "Copy"

Continuing …

Rick passed out after hanging on to see the woman he loved one last time. Unable to check to see if he still had a pulse, the only thing she could do was to stare at his limp body. Tears ran down her face of not only heartache, but rage! He had destroyed whatever future she had with Rick in just a matter of hours and there was only one thing running through her mind … REVENGE!

She was determined to get out of this alive and getting Castle to the hospital but not until she settled things with Tyson once and for all.

In the Darkness (Warehouse) …

Ryan had traveled to the east side of the warehouse and Esposito had gone west. Their headsets where the only communication they had. Being as discreet as possible they traveled in further knowing that Tyson and his goons were on the move.

On opposite sides of the building, it was easier to track down the suspects and harder for them to spot two trained police detectives. Hearing footstep heading further into the building, Ryan approached the lit room to find Beckett and Castle tied up. Looking around, he carefully approached Beckett and untied her. Ryan, "Are you ok?" Seeing that she had been crying, he looked over to the slab where Castle was still on. As she was undoing the ties on her legs, he rushed over to check on Rick. Finding a very weak pulse, and blood seeping everywhere, he called over the radio, "Capitan, we need an ambulance NOW. Javi, what's your 20?"

Javi responds, "Still on the west side. Wait … "Voices come clear, Tyson "What the fuck is the matter with you two? You guys can't find two misalign detectives?" Goon 1, "We're sorry sir!" Tyson shakes his head in frustration, "Head back to the God Damn room!" Heading towards the room, Javi responds, "They're heading back. Get out of there NOW!"

Beckett looked at Ryan, "We can't leave him!" Ryan, "I know Kate … I know." Ryan reaches from behind and pulls out his back up piece. "Here, once they come through those doors, Gates and McBride will storm the building and take him down once and for all." Kate looks to Castle as tears run down her cheeks and then took hold of the pistol. They hid in the darkest places they could find and waited.

As Tyson approached with his men, frustration appeared on his face. With Kate nowhere to be found, he yelled out, "Find her … Now!" Before his goons could leave, Kate and Ryan appeared from the darkness, Kate, "No Need. Hands in the air where I can see them!" Ryan, "NOW!" In no time, Gates, McBride and every single police officer ambushed the building, armed and ready to take down 3XK and his men.

Gates, "Jerry Tyson, You are under arrest for the kidnapping and attempted murder of Richard Castle. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. If you do not have an attorney, one will be appointed to you." With his hands behind his head, Capitan Gates arrests the man who had tortured women around the world along with his men.

Kate runs over to Castle to untie him, Kate, "I need a gurney in here." Placing a kiss upon his lips, she whispers as tears fall from her eyes, "Hang on Rick. I need you to hang on!" Medics rush in to tend to Rick as Esposito and Ryan hold her back. They place him carefully on the gurney, with an IV pack already in place, oxygen and rush him out to the van waiting for them. Kate followed right behind as the boys stayed behind to further the investigation and recover anything at the crime scene.

Ambulance …

Kate follows close behind as Rick is wheeled to the ambulance. The medic looks to her and says, "Family only ma'am!" Kate looks to him and just as she's about to say a word, Rick stirs awake, weak but awake, "She is family. Detective Beckett … is … my … family." Rick weakly holds out his hand. The medic nods in approval and lets Kate ride along.

Back at the Warehouse …

Forensics arrive on the scene to collect all the evidence as Ryan and Espo walk the warehouse taking note of the areas. Walking back toward the main room where Castle was held. Taking in the gruesome scene of what they had witnessed. Rick beaten almost to death … right there on that table, there best friend, a man who had brought so much life into the precinct was almost killed by that sick son of a bitch … Tyson.

Gates approaches from behind, snapping both men out of there gaze. Gates, "Detectives! You both did well tonight. You found Mr. Castle just in time … before anything more could be done. With that said, you both deserve to take the rest of the night off. Go see Rick at the hospital! I'm sure he would want you there as does Detective Beckett. She needs all the support she can get. Capitan McBride and I will wrap things up here." Espo and Ryan nod in thank you and before she could turn away, she replied, "I know this is a tuff situation for you both. It's not easy seeing someone you care about clinging to life." Espo, "It wasn't sir. We managed to get through it when Beckett almost lost her life. To see it again … this time to Castle, it brought back memories. Rick had to go through it with Beckett and now … it's the other way around." Gates, "I understand … Rick, as much as a pain he could be, has managed to become a great asset to the department. Detective Beckett cares very much for him and I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize that." Ryan, with crossed arms against his chest responded, "Sir, are you getting soft on us?" Gates gives them that look, "Just go!" Ryan looks to Espo, "She does have a soft side!" Turning away, Gates rolls her eyes as she shakes her head.

Espo pulls out his phone, dialing Lanie. She picks up, "Javi … did you find him?" Espo, "Yes. He and Beckett are headed to Mount Sinai right now." Lanie, "I'm on my way." Espo, "We'll see you there." Espo ends the call as he and Ryan jump in the car to head towards the hospital.

Hospital …

Arriving to the hospital, medics rush into the ER while Kate waits in the waiting room for results. In the meantime, she takes her phone out to make a very important call.

Loft …

Martha and Alexis were at home waiting for word from Kate. Martha was paising back and forth and Alexis sat on the couch clinching a pillow to her chest. For the past couple of days, they both couldn't sleep a wink wonder whether Rick would be found dead or alive. Martha, distraught and Alexis with puffy eyes could do nothing but simply wait … until the phone rang. Martha looks at the caller ID and answers; "Katherine" Alexis tosses the pillow to the side and jumps up to stand next to her gram, Kate on the other line, "Martha! We found him! He's here at Mount Sinai Hospital. I'll explain everything as soon as you get here." Martha, with tears in her eyes responds, "Oh Katherine, Thank You! We're on our way." Martha hangs up the phone as she and Alexis run out to grab a cab.

Hospital Waiting Room …

Kate anxiously waits in the waiting room for word on Rick. In the meantime, all she could do was process and thank God that she did find the love of her life in time. Reaching for her phone, she scrolls to the picture of her and Rick. Tears run down her face as Rick clings to life.

Flash Back …

Kate, "Rick" in her broken voice, "No matter what happens … I just want you to know … I love you. I love so much."

Rick, Smiling, he spoke in a weak, tired voice, "I … love … you too." Taking in a painful breath, he added "Always."

Present …

Closing her eyes so tight, she holds those words close to her heart, nothing could mean more to her then the one person who has been by her side. In the distance, footsteps approach, bringing her back to the present. Martha and Alexis run up to Kate as she stands to embrace both women. Holding each other was something they all needed. Martha pulls away, wiping the tears from her eyes, "Has there been an update." Kate shakes her head while responding, "No." Wiping the tears from her eyes, she continues, "He was pretty bad Martha. I mean … bad." She starts to cry again, (voice shaky), "When I found him … he was unconscious to where I thought he was dead. Luckily when I checked, he had a pulse, it was faint but he was still alive." Before she could continue, Lanie had arrived. Racing to her best friends' side, she pulled her into a tight embrace, breaking down in her arms. By then, then boys had walked in. Pulling away, Kate continued her story.

Kate, "He was tied down to a slab, battered and bruised. He had a stab wound to the abdomen. The DVDs showed … (voice breaking) oh God … I can't even tell you … the gruesome details." She turned to have a seat and continued, "I just want him to be ok." Martha walks over to have a seat, "Katherine, he will be. (Voice breaking) You found him and he has so much to live for because up never gave up. Katherine, you are an amazing woman and I know you love my son and he loves you. All we can do now is wait." Martha reaches over and gently squeezes Kate's hand. Kate gives a sad but thank you smile. Just then, the ER doctor arrives with some news.

Hey Guys! I know it's been a long few months since my last update. I just returned to school for my Associates Degree and since then, I've been busy nonstop. But here is the second half and I hope you enjoy. I'll do my best to return with the next chapter.
