Hi everyone, welcome to chapter 5 of the story. Before this begins, I'd like to say that to the couple of people who were submitting ideas...I'd like to say that this story is rated K+. The ideas are real something, but the ideas are more suitable for a M or T rated story, which this isn't. I'm not gonna mention what those ideas were but if you want to submit an idea for a chapter or something, please make sure it is K+ suitable. Enough of me talking, have fun reading I will see you at the end of it.

Lincoln snapped his finger and flipped the top card. It showed the card on top was...the king of spades?

Lincoln didn't know what to say, he didn't know how to react. He looked up and saw Lynn smirk at him.

"I got gloves if that'll help with defending the ball"

Lincoln was still confused, he done what he did the last time and just picture having the card on the top deck.

"No sweat bro, you can try next time...but for now-" She took her brothers hand. "I need to get some practise with soccer" She pulled him out of his room, dropping the deck of cards on the floor.

Lynn leaded Lincoln downstairs and out into the back garden. She had a goal set up. She got Lincoln to stand in front of it and got some distance between them, she dropped her ball on the ground and started to stretch.

Lincoln was confused and mad that the trick he JUST did early, didn't work when he tried showing his sister it. He then realised was that Lynn was now getting ready to kick the ball at Lincoln, into the goal.

She started with a slight run with the ball, as she got closer, Lincoln got scared of the ball hitting him in the face, or even worse.

"Get ready bro!" She yelled out as she picked up the pace.

Lincoln held his hands up and was getting ready to either catch the ball...or have it hit him in a place he wouldn't enjoy.

Lynn kicked the ball at Lincoln... then-

Lincoln's eyes opened, he was looking at the sky, he was on his back on the ground. He saw Lincoln's parents and Lynn come out of the house and running to him.

"Lincoln!?" They called out as they got to him.

Lincoln sat up, his nose hurt and he felt dizzy. He felt his nose and looked at his hands to see blood.

Rita and Lynn Sr saw their sons bleeding nose. Rita turned to their daughter.

"Lynn! Get some tissues" She demanded.

Lynn ran back into the house.

"Are you okay Lincoln?" His dad asked.

"Y-yeah, ah- what happened?"

Lynn had kicked the ball at Lincoln, she would've scored a goal, but Lincoln mistakenly leaned to the right too much, causing the ball to hit him straight in the face. Her brother then fell to the ground, causing Lynn to let a 'ohh' escape her lips. She rushed over to her brother, seeing his nose start to bleed, it even looked fractured too. Lincoln looked unconscious, this made Lynn worry, so she ran to get her parents to tell them what had happened.

Lynn found the Loud parents sitting in the kitchen, having some lunch.

"Mom! Dad! I think I knocked out Lincoln" Those words made the parents nearly choke on their sandwiches.

"What?!"

"We were playing soccer and I kicked the ball at him and it hit him in the face" She explained quickly.

Rita and her husband stood up from their chairs and ran out the back door into the garden, seeing their son laying on the ground with a bleeding nose.

"Oh my gosh!" Rita gasped as she got closer to her son who was now sitting up, just as confused as anyone.

Present

"Lincoln, how does your nose feel?" Lynn Sr asked.

"It- uh, it hurts" He said as it felt his nose gently.

"Don't touch it, we need to get him checked out" Rita said to her husband.

"I'll grab the keys" He said as he ran into the house to grab them.

Lynn then came out holding a handful of tissues, her actions made the rest of the sisters come outside to see their brother in the state he's in.

"Is Linky okay"? Leni asked them all.

They all ran over to their brother; his blood had dripped down onto his shirt.

Lynn handed Lincoln the tissues so he could wipe the blood off his nose.

"Bro, I'm so sorry" Lynn said as she was feeling the guilt hit her from seeing her brother like that.

"I-it's alright Lynn- ow" Lincoln felt his nose was probably fractured.

Lynn Sr then came back with keys in hand "Alright, let's go" He said.

Lynn and Rita helped Lincoln stand up as he held the tissues up to his nose.

They helped Lincoln into the van, the girls were standing behind them.

"Please be okay Linky" Lola whispered.

"Lori, you're in charge until we get back" Rita said to her oldest daughter.

Lori nodded.

Lynn then hoped in the van too, since she was the one who hit him in the face with the ball, it would've been cruel for her NOT to come.

"Buckled in?" Lynn Sr asked them.

Lynn clipped Lincoln's seatbelt in for him.

"Yeah!" She said with a thumbs up.

Lynn Sr pulled out the driveway and started to drive to the nearby hospital.

As they drove away. The sisters were obviously concerned for their brother, since they saw him with a fracture bleeding nose.

"You think he'll be okay?" Luna asked them.

"Yeah, they just need to rebreak his nose, right?" Luan answered.

"Correct" Lisa said.

The girls walked back into the house, worried and concerned for their brother's sudden injury.

The hospital

Lynn Sr had pulled in the parking lot, they got out of the van and headed inside the hospital. Lincoln's nose had stopped bleeding, but it was bruised and crooked. Rita and Lynn sat down in the waiting area with Lincoln as Lynn Sr was talking to the receptionist about seeing a doctor.

Lincoln felt his nose start to bleed a little more, but since they ran out of tissues, he had to use his shirt. Lynn felt even more guilty about what happened, if she hadn't aimed to kick the ball around the height of Lincolns head, she wouldn't have broken his nose. Rita had her arm around Lincoln, she was mad at Lynn, but didn't have the time for that right now.

Lynn Sr came back and sat next to his daughter. "A doctor will be with us in a couple minutes" He said as he handed Lincoln some more tissues.

"Thanks" Lincoln said as accepted the tissues for his nose.

A couple minutes passed, then the 3 were greeted with a doctor.

"Hi, I'm Mrs Thomson, follow me and we'll have a look at that nose" She said.

They got up from their seats and followed the Mrs Thomson into a examine room. The room had a L shaped desk up against the corner of the right-hand side of the wall, a medical examination couch and a couple chairs for anyone else who came in. She sat at her desk as she took a clip board and swivelled over to the medical bed and patted it.

"Hop on" She said to Lincoln.

Lincoln jumped on the bed, as Mrs Thomson had her clipboard in hand with pen.

"I need to ask you some questions Lincoln" She said.

"Okay" He nodded.

"How old are you?" She asked.

"11" He answered.

"What's your address?" She asked.

"1216 Franklin Avenue, Royal Woods" He answered.

She continued asking the more important questions to the parents such as "what is your medical history", "what allergies do you have" and "do you take any medications". After the parents answered all the questions and after she wrote them down, she turned her attention to Lincoln.

"So, Lincoln? How did this happen?" She asked him.

Lincoln looked slightly over at Lynn, she felt bad enough to hear about it again.

"My sister, Lynn" He nodded over to her "Kicked a soccer ball at my face when she when I was her goalie"

She understood as accidents like this happen.

"Alright, now that all the boring stuff is out of the way, let's have a look at your nose" She said as she grabbed some gloves so she could examine Lincolns nose.

She came back over and started to feel it, ask him if it hurt and tried to see if it was properly broken. She finished her examination and pulled her gloves off and threw them in the trash.

"Okay, well I have some good news and bad news" She said. "Which do you prefer to hear Lincoln?" She asked him.

"Good news" He answered.

Mrs Thomson smiled. "Good news is that your nose isn't broken, so you're going to be just fine"

This made Lincoln and his parents and sister happy to hear that, but he then just remembered there was bad news.

"And the bad news?" He said.

"The bad news is that you have a nasal fracture, now that's nothing to worry about" She reassured Lincoln and his parents.

Lincoln and his parents and Lynn were relieved to hear that.

"So, when you get home, put an ice pack on your nose for about 15 to 20 minutes every day, take some ibuprofen to help with the pain and swelling. And yeah, your nose should be better in 1 to 2 weeks" She explained.

This was good to hear as they hoped Lincoln didn't have to have his re broken in order to fix it.

"Now, you will have to have a dressing to cover your nose to elevate the head while laying down to reduce the swelling even more" She mentioned.

"Okay, thank you Mrs Thomson" Rita thanked the doctor.

She nodded and went over to her desk to pull out a dressing to give them.

"I normally give these out to people when they need them immediately, but seeing as you're a nice family" She handed them to Lynn Sr. "It's on the house"

"Thank you, doctor" Lynn Sr thanked her and held out his hand for a handshake, she accepted it.

Lincoln got off the bed.

"And Lincoln, you're a brave boy" She smiled.

"Thanks" He said.

They then left the examination room and walked out the hospital to the van. As they walked to the van, Lynn felt like she had to apologise to Lincoln. Before she could open her mouth, Rita stopped Lynn before she could get in the van with Lincoln.

"Lynn, we need to talk" She said.

Lynn could already tell what she was wanting to talk about. Rita closed the van door so Lincoln couldn't hear.

"I know that you didn't mean to kick the ball at Lincolns face, but you know he doesn't do sports" She said.

Lynn knows that Lincoln isn't a sports person, but she didn't think about it at the time she asked him.

"Sorry" She said.

"It's okay, just hope Lincoln can forgive you" She said.

The two then got into the van so they can go home.

Back home

The girls at home had made a little set up for Lincoln in the living room, they had a blanket, pillow, video game controller, tv remote, comics and a bell... damn how come I didn't get that when I broke a leg?

The girls normally go overboard when Lincoln gets simple injuries, but when it came to something almost getting broken, they know when they need to be careful with him.

As they pulled into the drive, Lori saw them and called out.

"They're home!" She yelled out.

Everyone came downstairs and opened the door, seeing Lincoln still alive, it made them happy.

"How was the trip bro?" Luna asked.

Lincoln laughed a little "It was good, my nose is gonna be fine" He said.

This made the girls glad to hear it.

"I'll wrap the dressing on your nose after you've had your ice pack on it-" Lynn Sr said before having the dressing snatched from Luan.

"Don't worry dad, I'll take care of it" She said.

"Oh, okay" he said.

"Come on Lincoln" Lola and Lana said as they led their brother to the couch.

"Wow, you guys didn't have to do this" He said.

"We know, but a broken nose is like, the worst to have happened" Leni said.

"Well, it isn't really broken, but thanks" He said.

"There's a bell for you to ring if you need anything" Lucy pointed out.

Lincoln thought he was in some sort of dream; it isn't like them to do this for him...well it isn't like him to have his nose nearly broken too. His sister all went off to continue their doing's. The parents were asked to help the girls with some things, as always. Leaving Lincoln on his own, he turned the tv on and was watching a documentary on Madagascar.

"Huh, something relaxing" He said as he got comfy.

Before Lincoln realised, Lynn poped out of nowhere, holding his ice bag.

"I think I recall you needing this before getting your nose wrapped up?" She chuckled.

"Thanks Lynn" He said as he took it and pressed it gently up to his nose.

"How's it feel?" She asked as she sat next to him.

"Cold" He laughed.

"Haha, I know that bro, but Is it helping the swelling?"

"I think so, I've never had this done to me before"

"It could be worse" Lynn shrugged. "Oh, by the way" She said as she pulled something out of her shorts pocket.

"I grabbed these for you" She said as she held his deck of cards for him "Figured you can try that trick on me again if you want" She offered.

Lincoln didn't know if he could do it again without messing up.

"Umm-"

"Look Lincoln, it was your first time showing me the trick, you might've got nervous for the first time, but you know what they always say 'second times the charm' "

Lincoln was happy to hear that Lynn wanted him to try again. He took the deck and opened the box to take the cards out. He shuffled the cards a few times then handed the deck to her.

"Guessing you know what to do?" He chuckled.

She smirked and shuffled them more, she then picked out a card from the top deck.

"You got one?" He asked.

"Well I'm holding it" She joked.

"Remember it" He asked her to do.

Lynn looked at her card, seeing she had 8 of diamonds.

"Put it somewhere in the middle of the deck" He instructed differently.

Lynn shoved the card in the middle of the deck, it was a new move, but she didn't judge.

"Alright, are you sure it's in the middle of the deck?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"Okay" Lincoln imagined the card on top of the deck, he concentrated hard.

He snapped his fingers. "Lift the top card and tell me what is it"

Lynn did as told, she lifted the card facing her and saw...the card on top...was the 8 of diamonds!

"Holy" Lynn was shocked. So was Lincoln that it finally worked.

"Lincoln, that's some weird stuff" Lynn chuckled.

He let out a sigh of relief, the first time showing one of his sisters a "magic trick" and got a reaction he didn't expect.

"How did you do it?" She asked.

Lincoln laughed awkwardly "You know what they say, 'a magician never reveals their secret'"

"Not even to your favourite sister?" She laughed.

"You know I don't have one" He laughed as well.

"Lincoln, you gotta show the rest this trick" She suggested.

Lincoln felt like he shouldn't, at least not now.

"I'll think about it, but please down tell them about it" He asked her.

"Alright bro" She said.

Lynn saw what Lincoln was watching "You're watching a documentary on Madagascar?" She questioned.

"Um, yeah?" He answered.

"...Mind if I watch it with you?" She asked him.

"Uh, sure" He said.

Lincoln and Lynn were now watching the documentary together, Lincoln felt happy about today...aside from getting hit in the face with a soccer ball. Lincoln kept the ice pack on his nose for the 20 minutes he was meant to, after realising that time passed, Luan came downstairs with the dressing to put on Lincoln's nose.

Lincoln looked to his left...seeing Luan wearing a red nose and a doctor's jacket. He rolled his eyes.

"Alright, Miss funny will take care of you now" She laughed.

Lincoln thought it was funny, it wasn't needed, but he appreciated her trying to cheer him up. Lincoln took away the ice pack to let Luan wrap his nose and hopefully not go overboard. She wrapped his nose gently, trying not to hurt him, once that was done... Lincoln kinda looked like a dummy, but Lynn and Luan didn't laugh.

"Okay, hope you don't become a nose it all at this stuff now!" She laughed "Get it?"

Lincoln and Lynn groaned at this at Luan left to go back upstairs.

"How's it feel?" Lynn asked.

Lincoln felt his nose. "It feels fine" He answered her.

The two continued to watch the documentary. Lynn would normally just be outside playing some sport or whatever, but it was of course nice of her to sit with Lincoln.

After watching for a little bit, Lincoln felt his nose start to hurt a little more, he wanted to take the dressing off his nose and see if it was bleeding or something, but he was scared to. Instead, he sat there, trying to ignore it and watch the documentary.

Later that night

After what has happened today, and ending it off with a near broken nose, Lincoln was getting ready for bed. He brushed his teeth, got changed into his pyjamas, and was now in bed getting ready to sleep.

When he layed in bed, Lincoln started thinking about what would happen if he tried to stop the ball from coming at his face. Maybe he would've been able to, but that would've depending if he could at in the moment, or if it would've been a bad idea to, as Lynn would clearly see. Lincoln tried to get some sleep, he had school tomorrow with his nose looking like a clown nose...but its white.

The next morning

Lincoln woke up the next day, he nearly forgot about his nose being wrapped up, it didn't hurt as much. As Lincoln sat up, he realised the dressing on his nose felt loose.

"Huh?" Lincoln's nose didn't feel sore, swelled...or even felt in a weird place.

He thought about taking it off to have a look, Lincoln slowly took the dressing off. He looked at it and saw some blood on it. Lincoln then grabbed a mirror he had in his dresser to take a look.

He lifted the mirror to his face and saw his nose was... healed?
