It is the morning of a weekend, it has been a whole week since the adventure in Aqual Sanctuary. He is back at Earth and is in his own room. He looked at the window and sees the sun shining bright. Sota got dressed and saw Black Mist with his eyes close.
"Morning Black Mist." Sota said to Black Mist. But he didn't say anything just float there and not saying anything.
"Come on, Black Mist." Sota said as he goes downstairs. Black Mist floats after him.
Sota is starting serving his breakfast to his parents and his little sister, Gina. Sota is eating pretty fast today.
"Slow down, Sota or you are going t-" Anna (Sota's mom) said. But got interrupted by Sota's choke noises.
Gina gave him a drink of water. Sota gulp it down and breathe out of relieve.
"Sorry, I need to get going so I can meet up with Yuma. Gina, you are coming too right," Sota said. Gina nodded. Black Mist's eyes widen when Sota mention Yuma.
"That is the first time, I heard of it." Black Mist said. Sota turn to Black Mist. "What are you talking about? We talked about it about a few days ago. How did you miss that?" Sota said. Black Mist scratched his head.
Sota's eye narrow. "You weren't paying attention." Sota said.
Black Mist turns his eyes not looking at Sota at the eyes. Sota was right. He wasn't paying attention.
"Well, we better get going. Bye mom. Bye dad. Let's go Gina." Sota said as the siblings ran out of the door.
"Have fun." Kevin (Sota's dad) said.
"Is Sota and Gina talking to themselves?" Anna questioned.
I don't know..." Kevin answered. He is not so sure himself.
Sota and Gina start running and can't wait to start their day with Yuma and Astral.
They continue running until they saw Yuma sitting at the bench while Astral floats above Yuma's head.
"Yuma! Astral!" Sota and Gina shouted.
Yuma looked and smiled. "Sota! Gina!" Yuma yelled back. "You guys are ready." The siblings nodded in excitement.
Black Mist sighed since the necklace prevents him to leave Sota and mind his own business. Yuma has a sour look on his face when he saw Black Mist.
He is still not comfortable about this, Sota and Black Mist being partners. He is dangerous, cunning, sadist and manipulative. Yuma hope that the necklace's spell will be broken so he can get Black Mist away from Sota and the rest of his friends.
They start their day to have fun until Sota mention something, "By the way, Black Mist didn't know that we are meeting up to have fun." Sota said. Yuma and Astral looked at Black Mist with a blank look.
"Wow... I thought that you would know about that since you are near Sota all the time" Yuma said with little shock.
"Don't remind me." Black Mist said. Yuma snort to hold back his laugh.
"What?" Black Mist said.
"Nothing, it just. You admit that you are not paying attention like a human does." Yuma pointed. Yuma chuckled a little.
Astral looked at Yuma as he said it. Yuma is right, that is something that a human will do.
"What is wrong with that?" Black Mist said.
"Nothing. But I have to say if you want to know how to be friendly, how about being friends with Sota, Yuma and his friends." Astral said.
"I will do that when I feel like it but till now I am not interested in making friends." Black Mist said.
"Stop fighting, Mr. Astral, Mr. Yuma and Mr. Black Mist." Gina said.
The others back off from the fight and didn't continue the fight. Thus they continue their day.
Later till the afternoon, Yuma saw new outdoor duel stadiums for duelist that need a field to duel monsters.
"Do you want to duel here?" Yuma ask.
"Sure, it will be fun." Sota said.
"So how will go first?" Gina asks.
"Do you duel, Gina?" Yuma ask.
"Yes, my parents taught me when I was little." Gina said.
"Ok, Gina, you and Sota are going to battle." Yuma said.
"Ok, let's go." Sota said with a pumped attitude.
Astral, Yuma and Black Mist went to the benches to look at Sota and Gina's duel fight.
'This kid is the one that Black Mist is partnered with. I wonder what kind of duelist he is?" Astral said with curiousity.
"He should be a good duelist." Black Mist said.
"Astral. Black Mist... You two should have your answer when this is over..." Yuma said.
Yuma is pretty sure what kind of duelist Sota is because...
"DUEL!" Gina and Sota said as they start dueling.
Later...
Sota is at the ground as Gina's victory screen appeared.
"..." Black Mist and Astral are speechless. Sota dueled poorly.
"Oh man, I lost...I have fun." Sota said. He had a sad face but it quickly disappeared into a smile.
"Yeah but you can't beat your own 'little' sister" Gina said proudly as he pump up her chest with pride.
Sota laughed at Gina's goofiness.
Yuma smiled because this is what dueling is all about to make friends and make you smile.
But Black Mist got annoyed and went up to Sota.
"What the hell was that, kid? You dueled really poorly that it lasted about ten minutes. You are at the same level when Yuma was before he was schooled by Astral." Black Mist said.
"Hey!" Yuma is annoyed by Black Mist's saying about his past.
"You need a lot of learning to know how to duel and I'm the person to do it." Black Mist said.
"WHAT?!" Everyone yelled.
"Are you sure, you can put up with me. I mean you said I am a nuisance." Sota said.
Black Mist took a deep breath. "OK, I may have said that but I need you to stay alive so I won't be killed." Black Mist explained.
"You mean you can teach my brother to duel like you, Mr. Black Mist?" Gina asks. Black Mist nodded.
"Thank you, Black Mist." Sota said.
Astral and Yuma are shocked by Black Mist's proposal and they are going to see what he is going to do.
"Ok, Black Mist. Why don't you duel Sota and teach him now." Astral said.
"I am planning to." Black Mist said.
And with that Sota verse Black Mist begins.
Later, they decided to let Black Mist teach Sota to duel for the rest of the day.
This is nostalgic for Yuma because this is just like his times with Astral. He teach him how to duel and let himself grow when they together.
Black Mist has his Number out of the field while Sota has his ace monster, White Maiden Sorceress. Black Mist's life points are still whole while Sota is at 100 life points.
Sota is breathing heavily know he is trying hard to defeat Black Mist. Black Mist looked at his monster carefully and notices something unique about Sota's monster.
Sota draw a card. "I use my magic card to increase White Maiden Sorceress' attack points." Sota said. "Attack." White Maiden Sorceress start to attack.
"Stop, Sota! Black Mist has one more overlay!" Yuma yelled. "Too late." Astral said.
"Shadow Gain." Black Mist said. Number 96 use an overlap and it use it's ability to absorb White Maiden Sorceress' attack point and added to it's own.
"Destroy White Maiden Sorceress!" Number 96 destroyed White Maiden Sorceress and Sota's life points turn into zero.
The battle is over and everyone went over to Sota.
"Your level of dueling is bad." Astral said honestly.
"Hate to admit it but Astral's right." Yuma sighed.
Sota sighed. "Yeah like I said I'm a rookie." Sota said.
"How long have you duel?" Black Mist asks.
"I have done it for two years." Sota said. Yuma, Astral and Black Mist blinked. "What you said you love dueling but why two years? Would you have been doing this as a kid?" Yuma said.
Sota was silent when he heard Yuma's question. Gina looked at him at a sad expression. Astral saw the expressions of the sibling's faces and wonder what is behind of it.
"I guess. I was afraid to do and now I am doing it now." Sota said with a smile but it looks more like a sad smile.
"Well, I'll make sure, you are at the same level as me at dueling." Black Mist said.
"Really, you will teach me?" Sota said. Black Mist nodded. Sota's expression softens when Black Mist said that he is going to teach him.
"Thank you, Black Mist." Sota said. Black Mist sighed. "How many times are you going to thank me?" Black Mist said.
"Well, I am grateful that you are going to teaching me how to duel." Sota said.
Black Mist scratches his head. "Sure, no problem." Black Mist turns his head as he blushed out of embarrassment.
'What this feeling? It feels awakward also...it is not a bad feeling.'
At Sota's house, Sota is sitting at his desk as he looked at his cards. Black Mist is tutoring him about his cards and deck.
"You see this monster will help your card to change forms." Black Mist said.
"Ok." Sota said. He followed Black Mist's directions on what to put on his deck and what not to. Sota understands his deck more thanks to Black Mist.
It took all night...
It is 6:50, Sota is sleeping but he is still at the desk. Black Mist looked at Sota as he is sleeping all day now. He can also saw how hard he is following his instructions.
"Astral... Is this how you are when you are with Yuma?" Black Mist whispered.
There was a call in the D-gazer. Sota woke up with surprised. He was drooling and got a trap card on his cheek. He looked at the number ID.
"Yuma?" Sota whispered. Sota answered the D-gazer.
"Sota? Sota?" Yuma called. He saw Sota has a trap card on his cheek.
"Sota, you got a trap card on your cheek." Yuma said. Sota felt it and remove it off his cheek.
"What do you call me for?" Sota ask.
"Eliphas found other one of the element materials that you need for the necklace." Yuma said. "We are about to leave.
Sota's face is surprise then turn into determination.
Other material has appeared.
