It has been three weeks since the wedding crashing. It did take them a while for them to get over Sota being a female. They were always joking around but now they got tired of it.
It is now a new day for Sota. "Good morning, everyone!" Sota shouted in a loud voice. He is cheery and is ready for the day.
"Good morning, Yuma!" Sota said to Yuma. Sota saw Yuma looking at a flyer.
"What is that?" Sota ask. Yuma showed Sota the flyer that he is looking. It is a picture of a dojo with an old man and a young man. It says: "Find your spiritual peace within yourself. Come to the Duel Sanctuary."
"What is this?" Black Mist said. Black Mist can be talked easy now. His time with Sota and the others help him become mallow but he is still act like a jerk.
"It is Master Roku and his assistant, Kaze. They are hosting a spiritual quest event in the Duel Sanctuary." Yuma explained.
"Yuma's grandma wants Yuma to go. Since Roku is his master, we decide to do this for training." Astral said. "This event is kind of similar like in the Astral World. Maybe it will help us grow stronger."
"Hey, why don't you two come? It will be a perfect thing for you and Black Mist." Yuma said.
"Really?" Sota wonder.
"Yeah, it will help you with your dueling skills plus it can help you two bond." Astral said.
"Hmmm... It might not be a bad idea. I will too." Sota said.
"What? Do we have to?" Black Mist is complaining about it.
"What? What can be more important than training your partner?" Astral ask.
Black Mist went silent. Astral think that Black Mist is hiding something.
"He doesn't want to miss the new episode of D.D. EsPer Robin that is in the same day where the event is." Sota explained.
"What, you watch that TV show too. So does Astral." Yuma said. "You two have something in common."
"I would like to be the judge of that?" What is Robin's master? What is the giant of Robin's team? And what is the weapon when they team unites?" Astral ask these questions to see if he knows.
"His master is Puma. His teammate is Ironhammer. And D.D. Jet Iron is the weapon when they unite." Black Mist said with confidence.
"Oh, so you are fan." Astral said.
"Duh? I am not dumb. You little nerd fan." Black Mist said.
They continue to talk about the things that are in D.D. EsPer Robin. "Wow, how know they like the same thing." Yuma said.
"If those two become friends, pigs will fly." Sota said. Yuma and Sota nodded in agreement.
"We are going so don't worry." Sota said. "Glad that you are coming." Yuma said.
A person is a watching Yuma and Sota. Eris is eavesdropping on the conversation. "A spiritual quest, huh? Maybe that will be the perfect place to destroy them and let them disappear forever." Eris said.
It is the weekend, it is the day of the event at the Duel Santuary. Yuma and Sota are carrying backpacks with whole stocks of food. They are carrying them at the stairs that leads to Master Roku's temple. They are breathing heavy as they carry them all the way up in the stairs.
"This...is too...heavy!" Sota shouted in his gasps. Sota and Yuma are climbing the stairs. But out of two of them, Sota is having the hard time. He doesn't really enjoy climbing the stairs.
Astral and Black Mist are sitting on their partner's backpack. "Come on you kid. We are almost there." Black Mist said.
"Easy for you too say. You are not carrying anything." Sota said with annoyance.
"Well, yeah. I can't carry anything." Black Mist said.
"Well, look at the bright side Sota, this is training as well." Astral said.
"Don't encourage Black Mist, Astral." Yuma said back. They have finally got to the top of the stairs. They put down the backpacks full of food. They lay down to catch their breath. "Ahh...Ahh.. Ahhhhh..."
"Why do I have to carry those things also?" Sota ask.
"Because my grandma will kill us if we didn't." Yuma answered. "Oh yeah." Sota said.
*****Flashback*****
"What we have to carry those food?" Sota said in shock. There are two large backpacks that are bigger than Yuma and Sota. It is full of food that some are sticking out.
"Yes, this is for Master Roku and the people that signed up for the spiritual quest. You youngsters are need food." Haru said (Yuma's grandmother)
"I got it, grandma." Yuma said. Yuma went to the backpack of food. Sota think this is impossible. He is going to carry that?
"You are kidding, right?" Sota said. "It is impossible for me to carry this large supply of food. Count me out." Sota refuse to carry it.
Yuma's face turns to shock. He is refusing a favor from Grandma.
"What you are saying that you won't help an old lady?" Haru said.
"Uh?" Sota is wondering what is happening but he sense danger is happening.
"You won't do something nice for an old lady like me?" Haru said. Her tone is deep but there is danger.
"What is going-Oww!" Haru swing the broom on Sota's head and got hit. Haru hit him with it.
"Sota! Please do this or you will get killed!" Yuma warned Sota.
"Youngsters like you have no respect for us old and nice people. You have to do it or we will hurt ourselves." Haru said. Her eyes are furious like a tiger. She scares Sota.
"You know what we do to disrespected youngsters like you." Haru is about to continue but Sota doesn't want know.
"Ok. Ok. I'll do it. Just don't kill me." Sota said. Sota got on his knees and put his hands together to ask for mercy.
Haru stop his frighten look and turn into a sweet look. "That's a good boy." Haru said. Sota take a deep breath as he is relieve that he is alive.

"You're grandmother is a monster. How do you survive?" Sota ask.
"If you obey my grandma and sister, you'll be fine." Yum answered.
"Well, well. If it isn't Yuma." A voice is heard. Yuma and Sota got up and saw Girag and his partner, Ponta.
"Girag. Ponta. Long time no see." Yuma said. "Haven't seen you too much." Yuma said.
"So you are here for the spiritual quest. Is Ponta coming too?" Astral ask.
"Yes who else will I take on this quest? Ponta is my partner and friend." Girag answered.
"An animal is your partner." Sota said. Girag nodded.
"Wow." Sota said. He petted Ponta. "This is good." Ponta said as he is happily petted. Sota jumped back. "He can talk!" Sota said in surprise.
"Yes, he can talk." Girag said.
"Yuma! Sota!" Two kid voices are heard. It is Flip and Caswell.
"You guys are entering this also?" Flip ask.
"Yeah, me and Astral. Also Black Mist and Sota." Yuma answered.
"Why are you here?" Girag ask.
"I am dragging Flip so he understand that we need to get an A+ at the project that we are working together and it is not going well. I think that doing this will help us understand how to work as a team." Caswell said. "In the end, Flip thinks this is stupid."
"Because it is. Just use a volcano project and we will be fine." Flip said.
"No, that is too original. We need something better that nobody will ever think of. Maybe at the spirit world can help us." Caswell said. Flip sighed as he rolls his eyes.
Then, there are two kids sitting near a tree and get some shade. Sota went up to the kids. It is a boy and a girl that is younger than Yuma and the others. The girl has a pink dress as the boy has a blue shirt and white pants.
"Hi, my name is Sota Takahashi. What is your name?" Sota introduce to them. The twins look at him and saw that their eyes are lifeless and faces expressionless as they looked at Sota. Sota think that their faces are scary like they are ghosts.
"My name is Tam and my brother is Tom." The girl introduces to Sota. "I hope we have fun. " The girl then went back to sit down. Sota then went back to Yuma and the others.
"Guys, those kids are pretty creepy." Sota said. Yuma and the others looked at the kids. Their faces are like zombies.
"They do act like the undead." Black Mist said. "Or Astral?" Black Mist added. Astral glared at Black Mist. 'Jerk.' Astral said in his mind.
Girag then saw the children smiling. "Does the child look like they are happy?" Girag pointed. They looked at the children's smiles.
"Yeah, but it looks like they are smiling at you, Girag." Yuma said. Girag shivered when he saw those smiles.
The door to the temple opened and Master Roku and Kaze went out.
"Children, it is time for the Spiritual Quest." Roku said. "Follow me." Roku start walking past the temple and the gang followed Roku.
They are at a water place where Kotori and Yuma went when Yuma is depressed. They went deeper to that area and saw a small shrine.
"Beyond this shrine, it will take your mind and spirit into the spirit realm where duel monsters live. Let them guide you in your journey." Master Roku said. Master Roku went near the shrine and pray. "Beware young ones. When going to the spirit world, you will encounter can also see the memories of your friends and enemies. Also you will see evil dead spirits."
"Wait. What?" The gang said at the same time. They are concern on what he said. "Wait, I change my mind! I don't want to do this-" Caswell try to stop the training but it was too late. Their minds and spirit left their body as they went inside the shrine.
'Be careful everyone'
Sota grumbled as he woke up. Sota looked around. "Where am I?" Sota moaned as he got a headache. Sota gasped when he looked around he saw that he is at the spirit world. It looks like Earth but he feels a wrap swift around the area. It has a mysterious aura that kind of make your head spin. Sota noticed that Yuma, Astral, Black Mist and the others are not around.
"Guys, where are you?" Sota shouted hoping that they will notice but nothing. Sota is alone.
Yuma moaned as he woke up and saw that his surroundings are different. "Yuma?" Astral ask. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, what about the others." Yuma ask. Astral looked and saw Girag, Ponta, Caswell and Flip getting up. "Good, they are alright." Yuma said with relieve.
The boy of one of the twins is up but the girl is not there. "Where is your sister?" Yuma ask the boy.
"I don't know." Tom whispered. It looks like the boy doesn't care. "We will find her." Yuma try to comfort him but Tom is distress about it.
Yuma then saw something in a distance. It is Black Mist and he is shouting. "SOTA! Where are you?" Black Mist yelled. Astral and Yuma went up to him.
"What's wrong, Black Mist?" Yuma ask.
"Sota is gone." Black Mist answered.
Yuma looked at the gang and saw it is truth. "This is not good, we lost not just the girl but Sota too." Yuma said.
"This is bad. This place is strange and different than our world." Astral said. He concentrated to sense his energy. "It's no good. This place is hard to sense other energy. I can't find him." Astral said.
Black Mist bit his lip. Where is he?
"Well, standing here won't solve anything. We have to find him and fast." Yuma said. Everyone agreed and start their way to find Sota.
