This Night
Chapter 253
Author's Note: I can't tell you how excited I am to almost be to Alexandria (or at least getting there, cause yeah we all know that it'll take a while!) Like I have Jewel giving me lines for season 6 (and we have a while there Jewel.) She is so going to enjoy kicking some Wolve's behind (Sorry Carol, you can still be bad ass, but momma bear is going to be on the prowl.) And Morgan….poor poor Morgan, he just doesn't know what Jewel is like when her babies are in danger! So please review.
Rick's group:
Joey and Rick held Tyreese up as they stumbled through the house and out into the road.
"Through the back!" Michonne yelled at them.
"We've got to break the chain," Rick told them as he saw the walkers.
"I can use the bat!" Summer yelled as she took the bat and ran to the gate.
"As soon as that chain comes off, those walkers' are going to come in," Jes told them as she pulled out her long handled knife.
"I've got him!" Noah told Rick.
"Can you hold him up?" Rick asked Noah.
Joey looked at Rick. "Noah is the smallest of us here except for Summer."
"We don't have much choice. Get ready. One two three, now!" Rick screamed as Summer broke the chain on the gate and the five of them battled walkers.
"Rick!" Joey yelled as he spotted Ty falling to the ground. Joey ran over and tore off his jacket. "We've got to stop this bleeding! Ty, you are not going to let the Governor win. You tell him to go back to hell or where ever he is," Joey yelled at Ty as Rick finished up the walkers.
"Jes take the radio, tell them that we need Ronnie to meet us away from camp, we need to cauterize the wound. Don't let her come alone. Sasha, Lexi and the kids they don't need to see this," he said as they struggled to carry Ty.
"Right," Jes said as she pulled out the radio. "Carol? Jewel?" she spoke into the radio.
"Jes? What's wrong? Where's Rick?" Jewel asked, her voice beginning to panic.
"I need you to step away from the rest of the group. Rick's fine," Jes assured her.
Jewel stepped out of the car and walked away from the group. "But someone isn't. What do you need us to do?"
"Rick says to have Ronnie meet us halfway. We need to cauterize a wound, don't let her come alone and keep Sasha, Lexi and the kids away," Jes told her.
Jewel glanced back to the camp. "Alright, we'll be there," she said.
Jewel's group POV:
Jewel closed her eyes and took a breath knowing that it was Tyreese by the mention of Sasha's and Lexi's name. "Daryl, load up one of the cars with medical supplies, Mar, Rosita, find anything that can be used to bandage a wound. Ronnie, Rick wants you to meet him half way back. We're going to have to cauterize a wound."
Axel looked up. "Someone got bit?"
"I don't know the details, I'm just relaying the information," Jewel told them. "I've fed Hope, changed her. I'm going to go with Ronnie," she told them as she started going through supplies.
"Jewel, you think that's a good idea?" Beth asked.
"There are no more good or bad ideas, Beth. Ronnie's going to need medical assistance, I'm the calmest under pressure when it comes to emergencies. I can forget for a moment where we are and help," Jewel told Beth.
"Mar can go," Glenn answered.
"No, Jewel's right, she's better in these situations," Mar responded.
"Whose been bit?" Sasha asked.
Jewel put things in her bag and didn't look up. "Jes didn't say. We'll let you know when we know," she answered.
Daryl took her bag and put it in the car. "It was Ty wasn't it?"
"I don't know for sure, she didn't say. But what she did say, yeah, it's Ty," Jewel answered quietly. "Come on Ronnie, we need to get a move on."
"You want me to come along?" Daryl asked.
"No, we're good," Jewel said as she jumped in the car to drive, as Rosita and Mar put a bag in the trunk.
"We put in everything we could find," Rosita told her.
Ronnie got into the passenger side of the car. "We'll let you know what's going on," she said.
Jewel nodded at Daryl as he closed her door. She picked up the radio as she started driving. "Rick?"
"I'm here," Rick told her.
"Ronnie and I are on our way. How bad?" Jewel asked.
"Ty was bit, we cut off his arm, but it might have been to late," Rick admitted.
"Is he running a fever yet?" Ronnie asked.
"Slight, he's been in and out of consciousness," Rick answered. "He's been talking to people that's not there. The Governor, Lizzie, Molly, saying things that aren't making sense."
Jewel looked at Ronnie, both knowing it was bad. "He lost a lot of blood?" Jewel asked her husband.
"Yes," Rick answered.
"Dad! He's not responding," Summer yelled.
Jewel looked at Ronnie. "Hold on!" she told Ronnie as she pushed the gas peddle. "We shouldn't be that far away."
"We see you," Rick said as he stopped the car.
Ronnie grabbed the bag as they stopped and saw them taking Ty out of the car. She jumped out of the car while it was still moving and took off running. She quickly bent down and knew that he wasn't going to make it.
Jewel stopped the car and got out. She looked at Rick, then Summer, then the others. She took one look at Ronnie and knew. She bent down and gave Ty a small kiss on his forehead. "We're going to take care of Lexi and Sasha," she said as she struggled to hold back the tears. She stood up and went over to Rick.
Michonne took a breath as she took out her sword and bent down and put it through his head behind his ear.
Summer cried into Joey's shoulder.
"Let's get him in the car, we'll bury him in the woods, Lexi and Sasha need to say goodbye," Rick instructed them.
Joey and Jes nodded as they started to move the body.
Group POV:
Lexi watched as they dug the grave, crying over Ty's body as Sasha just looked on in shock.
Mika quietly went away from the group and sat down beside Lexi, not saying a word. When Mitch saw what she did, he went over and did the same. He sat on the other side of her.
Rosita gave a small smile. "They are good kids."
Mar nodded. "They've both lost older siblings, so they understand. They don't need to say a word to her, she just needs to know they are there."
Glenn bent down and looked at Lexi. "We need to take him now, Lex. To bury him," he said softly.
"We're not going anywhere, Lexi. We'll be right here with you, we know how it feels. But Tyreese needs to be buried," Mitch told her.
Lexi looked back at Sasha who didn't even seem to notice her. Lexi nodded. "You're right, he needs to be buried."
Glenn nodded as him, Joey, Rick and Daryl, picked up the cloth that held the body and lowered him in the ground.
Jewel stood next to Summer as she held Hope.
"How many more of these are we going to have to go through? How many more of us are going to die?" Summer asked.
"I don't know baby, I wish I could say none," Jewel said as she kissed the top of her head.
"But we both know that would be a lie," Summer said as she walked over to Carl.
"She doing alright?" Rick asked as he came over and kissed Jewel then Hope.
"No, but are any of us right now?" Jewel asked as Gabriel stood up.
"We look not at what can be seen, but we look at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary... but what cannot be seen is eternal. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. "We look not at what can be seen, but we look at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made from hands, eternal in the heavens. In the heavens," Gabriel said as he closed the bible.
Joey took a breath as he picked up the shovel and put a hand of dirt into the grave, holding out the shovel for Summer who did the same, then she handed it to Jes, and it continued until Lexi and Sasha were the last two to go. Lexi put a hand full of dirt, then gave the shovel to Sasha who hesitated to take it.
"Take it, Sasha. You not taking it, it's not going to bring him back! I'm hurting too Sasha. You aren't the only one to have lost a brother today. But, you haven't even said anything to me since, since…he died. Do you think he'd want that?" Lexi cried. "Take it," she said again.
Sasha took the shovel as she put a handful of dirt on the grave and struggled to stand up. Rick took the shovel back and continued to fill the grave.
Mar hugged Lexi close to her as they all looked at Rick as he finished burying Ty.
