Chapter 2: Not Here
"I can't believe it…" Emma says in shock.
"How could she be so stupid?" Regina says.
"Regina!" David barks angrily.
"But there had to be another way!" she says angrily.
Mary Margaret shakes her head. "There wasn't. That thing was going to kill you. She saved your life."
"Don't you think I know that?" the former evil queen snaps.
"She saved both our lives," Emma says. "I can't believe she did that."
"Well, you are no better thinking you could stop it…"
Henry runs out into the street after the chaos had died down. "And now she's the - Dark One?"
"Like Father, like daughter," Killian sighs.
"Stop saying that," Henry says sternly.
"It's the truth," the pirate says.
"Guyliner is right, and now she's a problem for all of us."
"She's still good!" Mary Margret says. "She's still the Crystal we know…"
Regina rolls her eyes. "I hope so. It's not like she rode off on a unicorn. She got sucked up by a vortex of evil. Plus, she is the Dark One's daughter… This most likely fulfilled her other half. For all we know, this was prophesized."
Emma's green eyes look frantically onwards, her mind connecting the dots, a specific memory coming back to her.
"But where is she? Where has she gone?" Robin asks.
"Where all Dark Ones go… the shadow realm…" Regina snorts.
"THIS ISN'T A JOKING MATTER REGINA!" Emma snaps.
"So, what do we do now?" David asks.
"What do you think we do?" Henry says, angrily, not wanting to waste more time finding his friend. He rushes over and tries to grab the dagger.
"Henry! No!" Emma says, keeping it out of his reach.
"What?! Just because she's the Dark One now means that we just abandon her! Would we do that if your name was on that dagger?" he says to the Saviour. "Or yours," he says to Regina
Everyone pauses, knowing the teenager had a point.
"This is just like the time she showed her powers to us. You made her feel like a freak like she didn't belong here and yes she has dark powers, but she's shown us time and time again that she's not like her father."
"Henry, that may have been true in the past, but it's not now…"
"I don't care, I'm not just going to give up on her like that."
He grabs the dagger from his mother.
"HENRY!" Regina says.
"Mate, don't," Robin says.
"She's part of our family now. And if we can't find her, I can bring her to us… Crystal, I command you to come back to Storybrooke… Crystal, come back…! Dark One… Dark One, appear!"
Hook finally takes the dagger from the teenager. His hand is shaking, preferring if he summoned the Dark One than Henry. He knew this is what Emma would want.
"Dark One, I summon thee to return."
"Put that thing down before you hurt yourself, guyliner." Regina snaps. "I thought you knew the dagger's rules?
"With it, I can summon the Dark One from any corner of the world,"
"Well, there's your answer. She's not in this world."
"If she's not in this world…" Emma asks. "Then where the hell is she?
