A/N: Hi there! This chapter is a bunch of snippets about one day combined. Which is *insert voice of a 16-year-old-girl* like totally my style XD. I hope this is a fun read. It turned out a little longer than I expected.

WARNING: This chapter mentions what some of you consider the unspeakable. Nothing too bad though, at least in my humble opinion. A brother is going to be a brother, right XD.

Thank you Kareneb and Jsboneslover for the glowing reviews. I am so happy you liked it!

Booth opened the door of the Mighty hut and let Wendell step inside.

"It's so cool you and Dr. B. won that auction," Wendell said, crossing the threshold.

"Yeah, it was quite the process. A little unnerving, but I am glad we got it. Now we have to turn this into something livable again." Booth looked around. Right now, it was hard to imagine this could soon be his and Bones' home. "I am glad you're here to help me assess what we will need to do. Do you still think you'll have time to help me remodel? Obviously, we'll pay you." Booth said.

"Yes sure. There sure is a lot of work to be done. But we already knew that from last time we were here, before you bought it." Wendell said, looking into the room that would become the living room. Eventually. "I can still see this turning into a little castle but damn... It's like rebuilding it from the ground up."

Booth nodded. It was a massive task, most things worth having were anyway. "Yeah… Are you sure, though? I know you're going to be busy"

"I am sure I'll able to combine that. The FBI process mainly just takes time and I'll work three days a week as a lab technician after graduation until I know whether or not I got into Quantico. You have to work too during the day so we can't work here all day together anyway."

"That is true. It would be great to have your help." Booth said. "Do you think Lilly will be okay with you spending weekends and evenings working here?

Wendell shrugged. "I think so. We haven't really discussed it beyond her saying how cool it was that you asked me."

"Alright. You might want to ask her if it is really okay."

"That is probably a smart thing. Although, I really don't think she'll find it a problem." Wendell said.

Booth nodded. "Probably, but it never hurts to ask. No girl ever likes not being part of the consideration."

They made their way to the kitchen. Well... What used to be the kitchen. "Maybe we should start this weekend by taking all this debris out to the waste recycling center," Wendell said, pointing to all the loose wood and broken furniture.

"Yeah, that would be great, if you have time. We'll have to get a trailer. My brother promised to help clean up the mess. I guess that is one of the advantages of him being around town these days."

Wendell smiled. "I am sure more people will be willing to help. Angela, Hodgins, Dr. Saroyan, Arastoo, Lilly."

Booth chuckled. "I don't see Cam helping with this, she hates dust. Hodgins offered to help, but they have an outing with Angela's dad this weekend. If Lilly could come too, I could get us another car and trailer, that would speed up the process."

"Sure, I'll ask and I'll let you know."

"Thanks." Booth padded Wendell's shoulder.

Writing down what would be their first steps and what materials they needed for them, they made their way through the house. "I think we should be able to fix this in about 6 months," Wendell said.

Booth nodded, keeping himself from smiling excessively. "That is what I figured. I've already made lists of contractors. They can place walls, new windows, rerun the electrical wiring. We can do all the rest."

"Sounds good. So, I have been looking at the criteria to get into Quantico again." Wendell changed the subject.

"And?" Booth asked. Picking up a wooden beam and placing it against the wall.

"And there is still quite a lot of things to do. That physical test, psychological test, all those forms, the background check, more interviews." Wendell listed all the boxes he still needed to tick off.

Booth smiled. "Yeah, it is a lot, but it's the FBI. What did you expect? One job interview?"

"No, of course not. I am not sure what I expected. It's kind of scary. Even if I manage to pass all those tests, then the Basic Field Training starts. I kind of had hoped Lilly and I could just live together near Quantico but as a trainee, I have to stay in one of those dorms on campus." Wendell hated not having a place of his own. Sleeping with a girlfriend was great, but having slept in the same room as his brother for a significant part of his childhood, he wasn't really looking forward to bunking with people again.

"I get that that sucks. It is a long process, but it will be worth it when you make it through all the selections. You can live with Lilly after basic training. It will be harder though to not see her as easily as you would want."

"Well, Lilly might move with me to Quantico, even though we can't live together throughout the week."

"Really?" Booth said. He hadn't expected Lilly to be willing to make a linear move like that. "That is great. It will help you that Lilly will be nearby. Training is sometimes difficult, having her close by will help keep you motivated. Besides, staying in the dorm wasn't so bad, my roomie was great. We stayed friends even after getting shipped out to different cities." Booth thought about Sully. Back then Sully had thought the FBI was going to be his final career move. With the action, social status and no case ever being the same, Booth's friend had thought he would be happy being a fed until retirement. Too bad for Sully his insatiable need for new things already caught up with him within the second year. It was a miracle that Sully had lasted as long as he had.

"Yes, and 20 weeks is a pretty long time though. Lilly isn't from D.C. but for me, it would be the first time moving out of town.

"I am sure you can get dispensation for parts of the course, so it wouldn't be 20 weeks," Booth said. "Plus moving to a new city might be good for you," Booth remembered how much he had grown up from joining the army and leaving Philadelphia.

"True. They're willing to give me credit for 250 hours already."

"Wow" Booth exclaimed. "That might be one of the highest ones I ever heard."

"That is what the recruiter woman said. It wasn't official or anything, but she estimated something along those lines."

"So, what will Lilly do for those 20 weeks minus 250 hours?" Booth asked. "And mind you, that is only counting the basic training. Most agents stay a little longer for some extra advanced courses."

"She doesn't know yet. She did just sign on for another 6 months with miss Julian."

Booth whistled. "Caroline is not going to let her go just like that."

"What do you mean? You don't think Lilly can go with me if I make it into Quantico?" Wendell looked glum at the prospect.

"I didn't say that. Caroline enjoys working with Lilly, so she will make sure that Lilly doesn't just

disappear from the Justice Department forever. I am sure there will be a solution. Caroline doesn't

want people to know she has a heart but she does. She is big on romance so I doubt she will keep

Lilly from joining you."

"That is good because I would hate not being able to see Lilly throughout the week. Plus making the trip from Quantico back home would get annoying too."

"It isn't that far." Booth countered. "Though Quantico days can be very long and most people want to get home on the weekend, so it gets really crowded on the bus."

Wendell nodded. "I've noticed. My last appointment was at three o'clock on a Friday, with it running late I left there at five-thirty. I had to stand for the whole ride."

Booth chuckled. "Oh, the memories."

Saturday

"You're going to let Temperance and Lilly do the driving?" Jared asked, thinking it was that was a horrible idea.

Booth nodded. "We're the muscles, they're handling the logistics."

"Bad idea." Jared sing-sang with a smile.

Booth chuckled. "Bones is very capable at driving and Lilly apparently has experience driving a tractor and she swears she can parallel park it."

"So, she's a farm girl?" Jared asked. Interested by this new information.

"Funny, but no. I am not sure where she learned that particular skill, but I am not worried about her driving. Honestly, there isn't a lot she isn't good at."

Jared smiled. It wasn't often his brother was this complementarity about anyone. He still suspected that something had happened between the older Booth and this Lilly girl he had met once, but he knew he wasn't going to learn that truth from Seeley. Seeley Booth was big on being a gentleman and gentlemen didn't disclose their conquests. Seeley never had. Not that it was important to know, really, but Jared was simply curious and pestering his brother was always a fun activity. He was the youngest after all and being annoying was in the job description. "Really? Any more skills unrelated to her job you know about?"

Booth looked at Jared. He smiled. "Nice try. Why do you even want to know?"

"Because she's young - and you're not. Because she's hot and..." Jared paused purposely with a sly smile.

Booth playfully shoved him. "I didn't know you're having such a hard time finding girls these days that you're even jealous about my speculative catches." Two could play that game.

"Oh no, no problems in that department," Jared said with a grin. "D.C. is awesome. It's like shooting fish in a barrel."

Booth nodded, remembering Jared's high school days. "Any chance there is a woman between those fish that you consider settling down material?"

"Probably, but I am not ready for that. We never were the same in that department." Jared said. "I wish I was though. I am very happy for you. Temperance is a wonderful woman and this dump could definitely turn into something livable." Jared said goading his brother.

Ignoring the joking jab, Booth responded. "Thanks, Jar. I wish for you you'll find someone extraordinaire sometime too."

A knock on the doorpost, since there wasn't a door in the hinges, interrupted the Booth-brother-moment. Watching his step carefully, Wendell walked in. "Morning."

"Hey-hey, look who's here. Wendell, this is my brother Jared Booth. Jar, this is Wendell."

Jared shook Wendell's hand, sizing him up. "Oh, so you're Lilly's Wendell. Nice to meet you."

Wendell looked at Booth for guidance.

Booth rolled his eyes with a smile. "Jared has met Lilly when she was living in my apartment."

"Ah," Wendell said soundlessly. "That doesn't explain why you know my name though. Wendell said, his attention focused on Jared."

Booth smiled, jumping in before Jared could. "Because I explained to him...", Booth pointed to Jared, "... that Lilly was at the very least emotionally unavailable for anything dating related unless it was with you."

Wendell blushed, knowing that was before he knew for sure that Lilly was into him. It was pretty telling that Booth had known.

"How did that turn out for you?" Jared asked.

"Good. We're... Uh... Dating now." Wendell looked a little uncomfortable discussing Lilly with this guy he had never met. Sure, it was Booth's brother, but he seemed different from Booth in significant ways.

"Well, good for you, bro," Jared said sincerely.

"Bro?" Booth asked, giving Jared an indiscriminate look. "You're eight years younger than I am, not 20."

Wendell smiled at the typical brother's moment.

Jared shrugged. "Whatever."

Lilly knocked on the open front door. She glanced inside, wondering if this was the right house. Wendell had told her the house had basically been shot to pieces, but this looked like a bomb had gone off in the middle of it, except that a bomb would leave a giant hole in the ground as well.

From behind the staircase, Dr. Brennan stepped out. "Oh, come on in, miss Johnson."

Lilly smiled. "Thanks. You're not even going to call me Lilly today?"

"I haven't really thought about that, but I suppose I could give it a try. This isn't a professional situation after all."

"That is true," Lilly nodded, trying to read the letters on Dr. Brennan's faded old shirt. She wasn't able to make anything out of it, so it appeared to be in a different language. "Anyway, I brought coffee and like a gazillion bottles of water for everyone. A decaf for you, plain old black coffee for Booth, coffee with sugar for Wendell and two black coffees with packets of milk and sugar for the other two. Since I don't know their coffee habits."

"That is very nice, mi... Lilly," Bones said as she accepted her coffee. "If you want, you can call me Temperance outside of the lab. I expect that we'll be seeing each other here more often."

Lilly nodded. "Alright. I'll give that a try as well."

"I'll call for the men." Bones said. "Please take a seat." Temperance pointed to the fold in chairs she had brought.

Of course, Dr. B was going to be prepared to the T. Lilly thought as she wiggled her own travel cup (filled with tea, of course) from the carton and gingerly sat down on the chair, worrying about it collapsing. Those chairs were never to be trusted.

Soon enough the five came down the stairs. Bones introduced Lilly to Russ while Booth passed out the coffees which were happily accepted. Lilly observed Russ. She wasn't sure what to think of him. He was definitely less polished than Dr. Brennan was. There was something rough, unsophisticated about him, that made it hard to believe that he was the brother of Dr. Temperance Brennan.

"So how do you feel about our siblings dating?" Russ asked as he and Jared lifted a particular heavy chunk of what used to be a fold-out couch. Lilly had driven them to the waste disposal site and was currently working on clearing out the trash from the trunk of the car.

Jared smiled. "I think they're a great couple. What about you? You're an older brother to a sister, that's got to be quite different from my position."

Russ nodded. "It is, but Booth doesn't have anything to fear from me. If he hurts Tempe, my dad will chew him up and spit him out in pieces. There was nothing but seriousness in his voice as he stated what he thought of as a fact."

"You think he could get the drop on Seeley?" Jared asked intrigued by Russ' suggestion, gingerly walking back, glancing behind him to make sure he wouldn't trip. Jared knew about the transgressions of Max Keenan, but Max was like what? 70 now? Seeley was an ex ranger, an active FBI agent.

"Oh, I am not thinking it. It has happened before." Russ said with a smile. He hadn't thought Booth had deserved the kick to his crotch, but it was a funny story. Some people cared too much about pride. The look on Jared's face told Russ the younger Booth didn't know what had happened. "He didn't tell you?"

"Seeley didn't tell me what?" Jared asked.

Russ shook his head, with a smile. "A few years back when my dad was wanted for murder, dad was going to turn himself in to Booth. But my dad wouldn't be my dad if he didn't need to fight. Your brother apparently indulged him. They fought at a parking structure, ending with dad kicking Booth in the nards."

Jared broke out in laughter. "I would have loved to see that."

Russ smiled. "Yeah me too. Tempe wasn't happy though. She called both of them alpha male Neanderthals. According to dad, she yelled at both of them for about an hour."

Jared's laughter got louder. "God, that is perfect. On three?" Jared asked as they had made it to the container.

"Yes. One, two, three." Russ counted as they tossed the couch over the railing. "So, therefore I have no doubt my dad can kick your brother's ass, if necessary." Russ continued their conversation.

Jared nodded. "I see. I don't think there is a need to worry about that. Seeley is a born protector. In every way."

"I know. He's good to Tempe. I've never seen her this happy."

"She does seem very easygoing lately. The same goes for Seeley as well." Jared said as he paused thinking about how lucky Seeley was. "When did you know they were going to be an excellent match?"

Russ huffed. "Like five seconds after seeing them together. And then there is this way they fit together when they hug. Booth holds Tempe like she's precious cargo and Tempe just folds herself against him like she wants to hug into him."

Jared nodded.

Next up were a few beams. Both took their own to the containers. "Shoot," Russ said looking at his hand, where his skin has scraped a little from a nail, a little blood appearing. "I'm going to ask for a bandage," Russ said, showing Jared the small wound.

Jared nodded, walking back to the car and trailer. "Do you need some help?" He asked Lilly.

"Sure," Lilly said.

He gave her a hand carrying part of a broken table. "I owe you a thank you for sending the coach my way. Jared said. He and I have been looking into what could be my next non-governmental job and I might soon start my own business."

Lilly looked impressed. "Your own business, huh? And of course, you've done so much for this country, you deserve a lot more help than I can get you," Lilly said.

Jared waved it away. "You've done a lot. I am trying to make some trainings and seminars about negotiating, dealing with bureaucracy, extracting information. It might take me a while before I get it started, but at least I have something to look forward to."

"Sounds cool and still like a spy," Lilly concluded.

"A spy?" Jared laughed.

Lilly nodded. "Yes, I decided you're the American version of James Bond, or at least were." She grinned.

"Wow, I didn't know I made it into superhero status inside your head that quickly. I was just an officer in the Navy and in Military intelligence, not a secret agent or anything." Jared smiled.

"Well, whatever." Lilly dismissed his explanation. This was probably the closest she was going to get to someone similar to a secret agent and she loved James Bonds, so that was a big deal, even if it was only in her imagination.

"I heard Seeley let you move out." Jared turned the conversation to focus on Lilly.

Lilly nodded. "Yes, pretty much after you left, we went and moved my stuff back. It is great to be in my own home again."

"And that you're dating Wendell. He seems very nice."

"He is," Lilly said with a radiant smile.

Jared chuckled at the dreamy look in her eyes. "Are you sure nothing happened between you and Seeley though?" He couldn't imagine living with someone like Lilly and not trying something. But then again, his brother always had impeccable restraint and patience.

She should have been shocked at the crude transition of the subject, but she figured that Jared had done it on purpose to try and shock her. Lilly tried to read his face. She didn't find any clues on his features. Damn, this guy could become rich with poker, maybe that was because of all his Navy training. "Do you believe in your gut as much as Booth does?"

"Yes", Jared immediately responded.

Lilly smiled at his conviction. "So why are you asking then?"

"Because I want to know. Information is most valuable when it is confirmed by a credible source. It might give me a one-up on my brother." Jared grinned.

Lilly snorted. "Ah, sibling rivalry. Well. I doubt it would give you a strategic advantage. Nothing happened during my 'sleepover'. And a lot of stuff happened since I started dating that Wendell." Lilly smiled smugly.

Jared chuckled. "Alright then."

"Lilly?" Bones asked as Lilly re-entered the Mighty hut from tossing a wooden plank onto the trailer.

Lilly turned around and walked to Bones, who was standing in the kitchen area. "Yes, Temperance?"

"Booth and I are very happy and grateful you were willing to help out today. It really sped up the process of removing the debris. So, therefore, we want to pay you for your efforts and time." Bones held out her hand offering Lilly money.

"That is very kind," Lilly said with a smile. "However, you don't need to pay me anything."

Bones frowned. "Why not?"

"Because we're all part of the same squad, we're a family."

"Nevertheless, we're paying mister Bray, so it would be unfair not to pay you." Brennan insisted.

Lilly shook her head with a smile. She had heard that Dr. Brennan was passionate about paying her own way. Lilly shared that conviction, but she really didn't believe there was now any reason to pay her. "No, it wouldn't be unfair. Wendell negotiated a payment to help you and Booth remodel, I just came here to help out as a favor. That doesn't require the exchange of money."

"She's giving you hell about paying her, isn't she?" Booth asked as he walked into the kitchen, observing the two women. There was a broad smile on his face as his eyes told Brennan I told you so. He grabbed one of the water bottles and downed half of it in one 'sip'.

"Yes," Bones said, hating to admit that she was failing her little mission causing her frustration to slip into her voice.

A chuckle escaped from Booth. He wiped an excess drop of water from the corner of his mouth.

"You didn't let me pay for staying with you for that almost month," Lilly countered, her gaze focused on Booth.

Booth grinned as he stepped beside Bones. "True, and then you gifted Parker the biggest amount of money he has ever seen.

Now was Lilly's time to smile. It had been fun beating Booth while following the agreed-upon rules. "Yeah, but I don't have a Parker."

Bones glanced from her partner to Lilly and back as she tried to figure out the significance.

Booth nodded. Again, you're right.

"But Booth..." Bones said. "You agreed that we would pay miss... Lilly for today."

Booth looked at Temperance and they shared a silent conversation with their eyes, ending with Bones giving a small nod, before they both turned back to the legal intern.

Lilly wasn't sure what they had discussed without words, but Booth's smug smile hadn't faltered and she knew that meant she was about to or had already lost this battle. "What did the two of you just agree on?"

Immediately Bones turned to Booth and she received a comforting smile, once again letting Booth answer. "Agreed?" Booth asked.

Lilly narrowed her eyes at him. "Yes, agreed. Temperance nodded at you."

"Did we, Bones?" Booth asked squeezing her hand. "No, I don't think we did. You must have misunderstood." Booth feigned his innocence.

"Uhu," Lilly said disbelievingly. "If that money turns up in my apartment..."

"You shouldn't threaten an FBI agent. Booth could arrest you for it." Bones interrupted; her voice as seriously as an adult or teacher.

Booth smiled. "I promise it won't turn up in your apartment."

"Or on my bank account," Lilly added.

"Or on your bank account," Booth assured her.

"So, what is your suggestion, Booth? You promised we would pay miss Johnson but you told her we wouldn't. And what is Parker's role in all this?"

Booth smiled, giving her a kiss. He told her about Lilly reimbursing Parker for staying at his apartment. "And Lilly doesn't have a son I can hide the money for, but she does have Wendell who we can overpay."

As realization dawned upon Brennan's face she smiled. "I love that, Booth, that is an excellent idea. She didn't prohibit us from giving Wendell the money."

Booth nodded. "Exactly." He smiled smugly. "Nobody beats us, Bones, not even Lilly. Come on, let's go to your apartment, we definitely need a shower."

A/N: Thanks for reading. The Parker mention is a reference to chapter 37.
