Mercury's Mental Match

At the Dark Kingdom Queen Beryl was talking with Malachite and Zoisite about the crystals.

"There are a total of seven Rainbow Crystals." Beryl said. "If we do not collect them all, we cannot obtain the legendary Silver Crystal. I assume you are aware of this."

"Yes, my lady." Zoisite bowed. "But luckily I did not return empty handed." He held out the light blue chaos emerald.

"Ah, so this is a chaos emerald, good work." Beryl praised taking it into her hand.

"I managed to get it before Dr. Eggman could get it and while contending with that hedgehog." Zoisite explained.

"We now have one Chaos Emerald and one crystal in our possession." Beryl said. "The other one was taken by Tuxedo Mask. This is an appalling blunder."

"I'm terribly sorry." Zoisite said.

"Do not worry my queen." Malachite chimed in. "He is certain to come after the other Rainbow Crystals. If we attack him then, we will surely take back the Rainbow Crystal from him."

"Then get a hold of the other five rainbow crystals at once." Beryl ordered. "Search them out so we can revive our great ruler! Also bring me the rest of those emeralds."

On the streets Ami was walking to school near a construction site.

"Ami!" A boy called from behind. She turned around to see a boy about her age and height wearing a school boy's uniform and brown hair.

"Oh hi Greg good morning." Ami said.

"Good Morning." Greg said shakingly. "Well…."

"What is it?" She asked and at the construction site a steel girder being held up by a crane was beginning to give way, it fell.

"WATCH OUT!" One of the workers screamed. The girder fell and destroyed one of the worker's cars, right next to Ami.

Ami was in shock at the fact she was almost crushed, she turned behind her and saw no one.

"Are you all right!?" One of the workers said frantically, rushing towards her. "Are you injured?"

Later at school people rushed over to a crowd of students looking at test results.

"Oh great." Serena said looking at her bad score. "My mom's gonna get mad at me again."

"Your grade is terrible!" Lita scoffed. "You should study more."

"You too Lita!" Serena argued, noticing her grade wasn't much better.

"Hey, who's this Greg Urawa? He's #1." asked one student

"Ami's ranked second?" Serena shouted.

"I guess there's always someone better." Lita shrugged they just noticed Ami walking by.

"Ami you were so close!" Serena praised.

"I know." Ami sighed. "One more point would have gotten me a perfect grade, but I guess I still don't study enough."

"She lives in a completely different world than I do." Serena thought.

"That kid got a perfect score in every subject." Lita said. "He's in the same class as you, isn't he?"

Ami agreed. "Yes he is! He just transferred to this school the other day! It's amazing how he did so well so quickly."

"Oh Greg!" Ami called seeing him walk by.

"Oh! Ami!" Greg said rubbing his head and blushing slightly. With that he just ran away.

Later he was sitting on the roof thinking when they first met.

They were both taking a test and he was erasing hard and his eraser flew out of his hand and Ami who was sitting next to him handed it back to him.

"So you like Ami?" Serena said snapping Greg out of his thoughts. "You only knew her briefly, have you had feelings for her that long?"

"No." Greg said. "I study hard because my goal was to be like Ami and that's why."

"I see." Serena said. "But you surpass your goal. Good Going."

"No I'm not!" Greg snapped. "I just happen to be right about what would be on the test. Ami is much more gifted than I am. No matter how much I care for Ami, no it's nothing."

"I understand." Serena said cheerfully. "I will lend you a helping hand. Leave it to me! And she began to run off."

Later in the forest.

"We need to really get in this action." Sonic said. "Six emeralds have been found."

"Yeah." Tails said. "And there's only one left!"

"Lets head back into the city." Sonic said, as both he and Tails revved up and ran into the city.

That night Rei was on another date with Darien.

"Where shall we go next?" Rei asked, clinging to his arm.

"Oh right." Darien said as if distracted then he began to think. "I'm beginning to understand myself little by little, but I have no choice but to become Tuxedo Mask, I must get the Silver Crystal."

"Darien!" Rei said snapping out of his thoughts.

"Oh sorry." Darien apologized. "What did you say?"

"You've been acting weird lately." Rei said. "Did something happen?"

"No, it's nothing." Darien said. "Shall we go?"

At a café Serena and Greg were drinking juice. Serena handed him an envelope.

"Open it!" She said, Greg opened it and inside was a picture of Ami one of her eating a burger with a silly look on her face.

"This is for me?" Greg asked. Serena nodded.

"It's not great, but isn't it so much better than a newspaper clipping." Serena explained. "And she looks nice with that sort of silly look on her face."

For some strange reason Luna was right behind her and she noticed that the Crescent Moon Wand is responding.

"Could this boy be?" She thought.

"Thanks." Greg said. "I'll treasure this picture."

"It's no problem!" Serena said, waving her hand at him. "So anyway, when are you going to tell Ami that you like her?"

"Well." Greg sighed. "When I learned that I would be transferring to this school, I made up my mind, that if I could do better than her in school, I'd tell her how I feel."

"That means you can do it any day now, right?" Serena asked.

"Oh, but." Greg sighed again.

"Ok." Serena said standing up. "When Ami gets out of Cram school tonight, I will bring you Ami!"

Serena darted out the door leaving Greg with the bill and Luna ran after her.

Zoisite was watching at the dark kingdom.

"So this boy is one of the seven monsters who possesses a rainbow crystal." He said.

Serena was standing in front of the cram school building waiting for Ami to come out.

"Hey Serena." Luna said. "I've been meaning to say this for a long time."

"Hold that thought." Serena said as Ami walked out the front door.

"Ami!" Serena called.

"Oh Serena." Ami sighed. "What are you doing here?"

"I want you to come with me for a bit." Serena said.

She pulled on Ami's arm and took her away.

Greg was walking down the street.

"I've been waiting for you boy." Zoisite said sitting on the roof of a building.

"So your Zoisite?" Greg shouted.

"What!" Zoisite shouted surprised. He leaped down in front of Greg and stared him in the face. "How do you know my name? Explain yourself."

"Ever since I was a kid, I've had the power to predict the future." Greg explained. "My powers are getting stronger these days. Thanks to that I figured out who I am. An identity never wanted to know about."

"Then that makes it easier!" Zoisite smiled. "Now turn into the greatest monster and kneel before me."

"NO!" Greg yelled. "I'd rather die than become a pawn for the Devil!"

"Zoi!" Zoisite shouted and used his magic to attack Greg and knock him to the ground. "Now be a good boy and just surrender." He began to work his magic on him.

Serena dragged Ami around the corner. She saw Zoisite working his magic, then decided to transform.

"Moon Prism Power Make Up!"

"Mercury Power Make Up!"

"Stop right there!" Sailor Moon shouted.

"Zoisite!" Sailor Mercury shouted.

"As long as the moon hangs high in the sky I will not allow any evil deed go unpunished!" Sailor Moon said, doing her pose. "In the name of the moon I will punish you!"

That interrupted Zoisite's magic, so he stopped it. He took the black crystal back in his hand.

"Hold it right there!" Shouted a voice from the right of him and there was Sonic and Tails.

"How did you know where to find us?" Sailor Mercury asked. "I didn't even call you."

"We're continuing our search of the Chaos Emeralds." Sonic said. "We came back here when we saw the glow from either you transforming or the magic of Zoisite."

"So." Zoisite said. "You four plan to stop me?" Sailor Moon and Sonic leaped forward.

"Mercury." Sailor Moon said. "Take Greg out of here!"

"You help her out!" Sonic said to Tails.

"Ok." Sailor Mercury nodded picking him up over her shoulder, Tails picked him up by the back flying in the air.

"Where's the Chaos Emerald?" Sonic demanded.

"It's with the safe hands of Queen Beryl." Zoisite answered with glee.

"She has an emerald?" Sailor Moon shrieked.

"I'll explain later." Sonic said.

"I don't have time to play with you two." Zoisite snorted. "Zoi!" The rose petals surrounded both Sonic and Sailor Moon in an upward flurry. Sonic just jumped up and did a spin and blew the petals away, he ran around Sailor Moon and blew her petals away.

When they both looked at Zoisite he was gone.

"Where'd he go?" Sonic said.

Meanwhile Sailor Mercury laid Greg on a bench down the street in front of a small pond. She moistened up a cloth from a nearby fountain and placed it on his head.

"Will he be all right?" Tails asked.

"I think we've come far enough that we'll be safe here." Sailor Mercury said Greg opened his eyes.

"Thanks for saving me Ami." He said and you to Tails.

"Huh?" Tails said, puzzled scratching his head. "How does he know me?"

"What'd he call me?" Sailor Mercury said jumping up. "How does he know who I am?" Greg went out again.

Sonic, Sailor Moon and Luna came around a corner.

"Where did Mercury go?" Sailor Moon asked, looking around.

"Use the Crescent Moon Wand you will find both Greg, Tails, and Sailor Mercury." Luna instructed

"But that's saying that Greg is a rainbow crystal monster!" Sailor Moon shouted.

"A what crystal?" Sonic asked.

"He is!" Luna said.

"What?" Sailor Moon panicked.

"What are you talking about?" Sonic said, confused.

"If you don't hurry, Sailor Mercury will be in danger." Luna said.

"HELLO!" Sonic yelled.

"Sorry." Luna said. "We'll explain at a later time."

Back at the bench Sailor Mercury is wiping Greg's brow.

"He's restless." Tails said.

"Oh." Sailor Mercury sighed. She saw something in his shirt pocket and took it out and saw the picture of her eating a burger.

"It's a picture of me!" Sailor Mercury said, Tails looked at it and giggled.

"You look funny!" He snickered.

"Oh cut it out!" Sailor Mercury grumbled, Greg started tossing around.

"He's acting up again." Said Tails as he opened his eyes.

"It seems like you were having a bad dream." Sailor Mercury said.

"It was not a dream." Greg said sitting up "I was seeing what would happen in the future."

"What?" Sailor Mercury said.

"I have a strange power that allows me to predict the future." Greg said. "That's why I was able to get perfect scores on those exams."

"What are you talking about? and I guess that explains how he knows me." Tails said.

"You don't need to hide it from me Ami, you either Tails. I know about Eggman and Sonic." Greg explained. "I have idolized you for a long time now." He continued to Ami. "But we are fated to fight one another!"

Sailor Mercury just giggled

"You don't believe me?" Greg said.

"I don't think fighting this guy is funny!" Tails frowned.

"Well I don't know." Sailor Mercury said. "Because everything you said is completely off the mark. You're mistaking me for Ami Mizuno."

"I see." Greg said. "If you say so, I will leave it at that, but.. If I turn into a monster, please don't hesitate to kill me!" He turned his attention to Tails. "I haven't gotten a clear vision but I see a robot with glowing red eyes, created by Dr. Eggman. It's his most greatest creation. Sonic has faced it before, but I cannot identify it though."

"Thanks for the tip." Tails said.

"Greg the future is yours to create." Sailor Mercury explained. "If you give up everything will happen just as you think it will. But as long as you have faith in yourself."

Gerg stood up and stared at Sailor Mercury

"Thanks Ami." He said. "No, Sailor Mercury."

Tails smiled at this sight.

"My, my." Said the voice of Zoisite. "What an open display of affection." As he appeared over the pond.

"Do you think you can get away from the black crystal?" Zoisite said. Sailor Mercury and Tails jumped in front of Greg. "Oh, you're so protective." Zoisite said. "But I wonder if you would do the same when you see the boy's true form."

"True form?" Tails asked, Zoisite worked his magic on Greg. "Stop it!" Tails shouted attempting a speed dash at Zoisite but he threw petals at him when he launched himself, and he landed flat on his butt.

"Look very carefully!" Zoisite said. "He is one of the great seven monsters, Bunbo!" His yellow rainbow crystal left Greg and went to Zoisite. "Go Bunbo! Defeat that Sailor Warrior and the Fox!"

"He had the last chaos emerald!" Tails gasped stunned.

"Greg!" Sailor Mercury cried. Greg became a monster with a snake face but with a knight's armor on and green cloth around his torso. and His arms became two sets of giant pocket scissors. "Bunbo!" He shouted.

"He's a monster?" Tails asked stunned, Bunbo approached Sailor Mercury but her words still lingered in his mind. Instead he jumped over her and tackled Zoisite, he dropped the Rainbow Crystal and Sailor Mercury caught it.

"Yes!" Tails said. "We got the last chaos emerald!"

"He still has his human heart!" Zoisite grumbled as they both went down into the pond. Zoisite flew out of the water, and worked his magic on him again. "Bunbo! Your opponent is the Sailor Warrior and the fox! Now bring me back that rainbow crystal!" He grew to twice his size and turned at Sailor Mercury and Tails. They both ran away and a blue streak cut him off as he started to give chase.

Sonic appeared with Sailor Moon and Sonic and Luna.

"Zoisite!" Sailor Moon shouted.

"Please!" Sailor Mercury pleaded. "Sailor Moon turn Greg back into a normal human first!" Sailor Moon tried the wand.

"Moon Healing Escalation!"

But it didn't work.

"Why didn't he change back?" Sailor Moon screamed as they both ran for it.

"Because the evil power in him is very strong!" Luna said. "You have to weaken him first!"

"Leave it to us!" Sonic said stepping up, he and Tails joined hands and performed a double super spin dash. And stuck him in the head he was weakened and he shrank.

"Fire Soul!"

"Supreme Thunder!"

A fire lightning attack hit Bunbo right after Sonic and Tails hit him, and weakened him further.

"Looks like we showed up right on time!" Sailor Mars said approaching with Sailor Mars, approaching with Sailor Jupiter.

"Now's your chance!" Sailor Mercury said to Sailor Moon. She tried to heal him again.

"Moon Healing Escalation!"

And Greg returned to normal.

"That hedgehog is becoming very annoying!" Zoisite snarled. "I will defeat them all sometime!" He vanished.

Mercury rushed over to Greg and picked up his head.

"Are you all right Greg?" Sailor Mercury asked.

"Yes Ami." Greg said, opening his eyes.

The next day Ami, Lita, and Serena, arrived at the train station with Greg.

"You're transferring again?" Serena asked. "You sure don't settle down much."

"Well, I have to go whenever my dad's work takes him." Greg said sadly. "So it can't be helped."

"And we'd just gotten to be friends to." Serena said.

"Goodbye Ami!" Greg stuttered, waving to her.

"Good luck Greg!" Ami said waving back.

"I want to return this to you." Greg said and he handed her back the picture of her eating the burger. "When I get better test scores than you, I'll be back for that picture."

"I would actually like it if you held this." Ami said, handing the picture back to Greg. He got on the train and it departed.

"I'm glad today's a day off." Serena sighed in relief. "I have visitors at my house today."

"Who?" Lita asked. Serena just smirked

Back in Serena's bedroom.

"Ok." Sonic said walking around pacing the floor. "What is it that Serena wanted us to come to her house, on a bright morning with her whole family at her house for?"

"Well." Tails said, thinking sitting on her bed. "She and Luna wanted to tell us what's happening now."

"Yes." Luna said sitting on her desk. "Although I thought it was stupid, despite all my objections, having you come here was her idea."

"Hey Mom I want to remind you that Mika is coming later!" Sammy shouted right outside the bedroom door. Sonic and Tails jumped and hid when they heard his voice.

"I hope this gets done quickly!" Sonic sighed.
