"En guarde!" Undyne yelled, and with a single swipe of her spear, she turned Peter's SOUL from red to green.

Peter blinked. He couldn't move, but that wasn't the troubling thing. He could have sworn he had done this. Heck, he could have sword he died. "What?"

"I agree, what?" Chara assented.

"As long as you're green you can't escape, that's what!" Undyne laughed. "And unless you learn to face danger head on, you won't last a second against me, you coward!"

Peter distractedly caught to staff she tossed to him, and knocked the spears out of the way. "No, I mean, didn't we just do this?"

"Feels like it." Chara noted.

"Pfft, not bad!" Undyne yelled. "How about THIS!"

She let loose a volley of spears, and Peter blocked all but one. "I died, didn't I?"

"Yeah..." Chara thought. "I panicked and sent a memory to help you stay determined! I guess it worked!"

"Does that make me invulnerable?"

"NOT WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU!" Undyne yelled, firing more spears. "For years, we've dreamed of life on the surface. And now, sunlight is just within our reach!"

"You've told me this." Peter sent out a web line to her arm and pulled. It was like trying to push the Hulk.

"Hah! Nice try, but I wont let you stand in our way!" She crowed, cutting it with her spear. "Now enough warming up!"

She flipped his SOUL back to red, and Peter had to duck to avoid another thrown spear. He was on better health this time. Looking in his pocket, he could see that he still had the Nice-cream. "C'mon, let's talk this out! Fish lady to spider man!"

"Mercy? Hah!" She scoffed. "I still can't believe YOU want to spare ME. But even if I spared you, no human has ever gotten past Asgore!"

"Guess I'll have to be the first!" Peter was ready for the return to green, and stood his ground against a flurry of spears. He realized that his spider-sense could let him know vaguely where next to block, so he began to rely on it to evade her spears.

"Honestly, I'm doing you a favor, punk!" She yelled. "So stop. Being. So. Resilient!" She fired more and more spears, but Peter was able to block most of them. She turned his SOUL red again, so he quickly ducked. "What in the world are humans made of?"

"Faith, trust, and pixie dust." Peter replied with a shrug, dodging her next attack.

"And DETERMINATION." Chara grinned.

"Bah! Anyone else would be dead by now!" She yelled, catching Peter midair and slamming his SOUL back to green. "Alphys told me humans were determined... I see now what she meant by that! But I'm determined too!"

"I can tell!" Peter replied. A new volley came, spears that flipped to the opposite direction of where they came from, but thanks to Peter's spider-sense, he got the hang of it despite suffering some injuries.

"Determined to end this RIGHT NOW!" Undyne launched more spears.

Peter blocked them.

"...RIGHT NOW!" She yelled again. Peter kept blocking.

"... RIGHT...NOW!" She screamed. The spears came in faster. Peter couldn't block them all, but he was still alive.

Undyne began to laugh, then she screamed in frustration. "DIE ALREADY, YOU LITTLE BRAT!"

"Not today! Actually once already." Peter exclaimed, flipping over her spears. He was getting pretty tired, though, and had no Nice-creams left.

"I WILL NEVER TAKE MERCY FROM THE LIKES OF YOU!" Undyne screamed. The spears came in thicker and faster as she yelled louder and louder. "SO JUST DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"

Peter felt himself getting more and more tired. More and more spears flew into him, and he collapsed to the ground. "I... don't... want... to hurt... you."

Undyne grinned. "The feeling isn't mutual. You'll never escape from me." She walked up, raised a spear, and brought it down.

"STAY DETERmined..." Chara yelled.

Peter's SOUL once again shattered, and again the voice called:

"It cannot end now! Chara, stay determined!"

So Peter took the advice meant for her and concentrated hard...
