"Welcome to Mesozoiville. Feel free to be part of our prehistoric renaissance!"
The Dondai Supremo slowed down and then stopped at a sign with a pteranodon model above, leading to an unfamiliar neighborhood through dense thickets. The boy driving the car reached for the map and checked it, marching his finger around in search of this unknown place.
"Strange... I don't see this town on my map" he perceived, but shrugged it off immediately. "Meh... People likes to put up stupid billboards in the middle of nowhere"
For a while, however, the boy leaned on his hand and sat silently in thought. What if his car got scratches on the bumpers or plate glasses, while passing by the sharpest tips of prickly plants? His dad wouldn't be pleased.
He deeply sighed with no other choice left in the mind as he grabbed the wheel.
"Maybe If I will travel across those bushes without paying attention to what will happen to my car then I'll be closer to my goal" he thought. "My machine always can be fixed in the nearest workshop"
His closest friends, Crystal Gems, always told him to pursue the path he always wanted.
...And that's what he did! By reason of being loaded with wrong understanding of anyones opinion and the energy of his own gem, Steven turned into a terrible pink monster wreaking havoc on the coast of his home.
He didn't recall much about that moment and he would not remember if his friends and father had not come to his aid.
They told him everything that happened, when he was psychologically absent. From his corruption to this... Something... and how he woke up wrapped in a towel.
All Steven remembered was his own crying and indeed was the only reason why he remembered the dark side of his corruption.
The boy, in the middle of reasoning about it, didn't notice that he had already crossed the border of the bushes and found himself on the normal-looking street.
...Just before his Supremo collided with parked vehicle in front.
Steven, luckily stopped a meter behind it before he could turn it into a disaster.
The half-gem clutched his really pumping heart and leaned on the seat afterwards, taking fast breaths to the point of hyperventilating.
The heartbeat increased the tone more with the hearing of police sirens in a close distance.
"No, no, no..." his head was meeting in a direct contact with a steering wheel. "No... No!"
Steven woke up from the trance in the following moment and compulsively ruffled hair, while moving the rear-view mirror in anguish. He thought he would sort it out somehow without a hitch.
"Open the window, sir"
The half-gem obeyed their instructions, by simply pulling the window handle around in a fast pace. A sea of sweat poured from his brow.
"I... I can explain this!" the boy in the pink jacket stammered. "...I'm just trying to find my own destiny on a road trip!"
Steven sighed with a instant relief in his voice and stuck his head out.
He permanently regretted this decision, wasn't expecting this sight. His tongue was taken away and the boy himself was trembling with fear.
Two dinosaurs with police caps, Velociraptors, one green and other yellow, writing something in the notebook were viciously smirking at the boy's astonishment.
Steven's face said it all. He couldn't tell if he had lost his mind or hallucinating, which worked to the advantage of the two human-sized reptiles.
"Can you see it, Randy?" the yellow Velociraptor nudged his partner, to which the yellow one nodded. "A new citizen of our city!"
"No, no..." the half-gem shook his head and waved both hands. "I'm just a passerby here! I'm already driving away somewhere else!"
The green Velociraptor grinned. "I'm so sorry adolescent guy, but this is not possible... You just found out that we, prehistoric creatures live in a hidden field from the rest of yours civilization of our former home... Those people who somehow discover our flat, how to say it..."
"...Become one of us!" the yellow theropod reminded his friend with a reply.
Steven's face paled in fear. The teenager promptly caught the window handle and proceeded to spin it around as fast as possible with all the might. So fast, that he broke it.
"Randy, get him!"
The boy screamed, as he felt the thunderous pain in his hair. This monster grabbed his head and dragged him through the empty window to the outside.
"Let me go!" he yelled out in anger, before he felt a hard blow to the head, strong enough to make him lose contact with reality.
The duo of the dinosaurs gently grabbed the unconscious boy, while the green one carried him on the back to their police car.
Steven broke free from the sleep, very thirsty. His head ached like hell, but the youngling was unable to do anything with it, leaving him quite displeased in this situation.
He found himself in an unfamiliar room, perhaps a hotel room. The half-gem often visited them when he wanted to spend the night safely.
The boy at a slow pace turned to his right and saw a cupboard with a cup on the top. Under the influence of a dry throat, he quickly snatched it and tilted it to his mouth.
There was no water, which made him more irritated and left more dehydrated.
Looking ahead, he spotted the bathroom.
Steven slowly raised up on his limbs and regaining balance, found himself at the doorstep. Although the boy had trouble getting up, he supported himself with both claws.
Rummaging through the dark, he found the switch and turned it on.
After that, the young boy approached the tap and held the cup close to his abdomen. By turning on the tap and looking down on the cup, his attention got focused on his belly.
It was all pink, but it was not his special attention that led to sudden panic.
His gem and belly button were missing. He was naked.
Steven froze and stared at it for a while. He wanted to scream but sincerely couldn't, unable to produce any kind of screaming wave.
The boy glanced ahead and dropped the cup on the floor.
In the mirror right in front, he saw the petrified look of a small Baryonyx.
The dinosaur, he, he was a dinosaur.
