This is my very first fanfiction in a while, I didn't do it alone far from it, I mean the first chapter has practically been exclusively written by IidaTheQuick so yeah I'd recommend checking out IidaTheQuick
My name is Izuku Midoriya, and the world we live in is one of heroes. A long time ago, a baby was born with an incredible power. Soon after that, reports of these powers appeared across the world, until about 80% of the population had one of these "Quirks", even if nobody knew what caused them. Our streets looked like scenes from comic books, and as cities swirled in chaos and confusion, a new profession dominated our collective consciousness: Heroes. Where there were those who would abuse their powers to commit crimes, the heroes would be there to make sure everything was in order. At the top of all heroes stood All Might, the #1 Pro Hero. All my life I aspired to be like him. He was everything I wanted to be: a hero who saves everyone with a smile on his face. When I was young, around the time I was supposed to see if the joints in my toe showed the signs of any other quirk holder, it looked as if I wouldn't have one. It crushed me at the time, and I spent the next two months trying everything I could. After so many attempts, the day had finally arrived when my quirk manifested. On what I swore would be my final try, I used every inch of my mind to try and mimic my mom's quirk. I stared down the All Might figure I set on the other side of the room and tried. At first I thought I was dreaming from despair when I saw the toy lift off the ground, but that wasn't it. Soon I found myself being able to move things using telekinesis, which was my quirk for quite a while. My mother's first reaction to my newfound quirk was excitement just the same as mine. I now not only could be the future #1 like All Might, but my power was initially only inherited from my mom. My version was slightly different. Instead of simple attraction, where I would pull small objects, mine was direct and literal telekinesis. I could lift objects multiple times heavier than I myself was, and move them around. The main restriction was the heavier the object was, the more mental power was necessary. If pushed too far I'd give myself a headache, and at worst a migraine. I couldn't stop being happy, and even showed my class my new power the next day at kindergarten, which made me feel at an equal level with everyone else.
Everyone seemed to be pretty impressed with the way my power was. All except for one. Katsuki Bakugou, who I called Kacchan ever since childhood. In his own way, he saw me as an enemy. His Quirk is Explosion, and he can secrete nitroglycerin like sweat from his palms. My telekinesis also lets me move loose objects out of the air like dust or smoke, and because of this his Quirk was rendered useless against mine. In early childhood, most of his time was spent trying to outdo me and take the spotlight all for himself. There were even a few occasions where he tried to use his quirk against me, but this is when I learned of my counter. The rest of early school years went as usual, and I only ever had telekinesis. However, after learning that most quirks are combinations of the parents' quirks, or that the child would simply get both, I decided to take matters into my own hands to figure out why it seemed like I had no traces of my dad's quirk. His ability was to breathe fire, and I never got an ability on those levels. It took me until middle school to figure out what my version of his fire quirk was. Since his was linked to breathing, that's what I tried for the longest until it came to me that my version of it wouldn't be the same. 'If my quirks were the exact same as my parents, I would only have attraction', I had thought. So then I tried to force flames out from random body parts, starting with my hands. Instead of shooting out in bursts like other fire-type heroes, a flame remained on my hand. My hand was only kinda warm, even though the flame looked hot enough to mark someone's finger for a decent bit. This led to the second quirk I had discovered. Flame: the ability to cause my body to burst into flames at will, with the added bonus of being able to change the temperature, although the downside to doing that was potentially burning myself if pushed too far. As I only lived with my mom, she was again the first person that I showed my ability to. She almost looked happier than the first time my quirk manifested. This cleared up any confusions I had about my dad's side of power. After taking this up with several of my early-year doctors, my quirk's name was officially changed from 'Telekinesis' to 'Flame Esper'.
Jumping forward to my junior-high year, it was nearing the midway point when we had to turn in applications for future schools. Looking back, it may have been a little too confident of me to jump forward on how good my quirk was, but I still don't regret applying for the top school in all of Japan. I registered for UA. UA is the absolute best school in the entire country, and it's where all the best heroes-in-training want to go. Ranging from its hero courses to business studies, and even general studies and support classes. Nothing could be better than UA. The top reason above all else for why I applied is because UA is the home school to the current top heroes, and that includes All Might! School continued as regular for the day, until I had left for home. While gathering my things and checking the news, Kacchan had approached my desk and taken my hero notebook. The 'Hero Notes for the Future!' as I had called them. I've written them my whole life, constantly taking notes on pro heroes and others that I found interesting enough to write on. It taught me about all the different corners of hero society, and how being a hero is about a lot more than just beating villains and saving people. No matter what I had written, it didn't stop Kacchan from taking it, and threatening to destroy the most recent one I had. Over time, I had learned a lot of ways to both defend myself and others (potentially) if I had to without hurting anybody. This also meant some minor reflex tests, with this instance being my newest. Kacchan's right hand began to spark in small amounts, with my notebook in his left. In that small instance I had redirected his explosion and saved my notebook from damage. Of course, he was mad about this, and the other two kids beside him from our class gave him a small laugh as they thought he had genuinely missed somehow. His usual tendency to get mad was proven further, and right after he tried to burn my notes, he then again tried to toss them out the window. Luckily I just barely managed to save it before it fell into the water below. He walked away with the other two students, and I was left pulling my notebook back to my hand. I finished packing up and left the school with a fairly positive attitude. In a small tunnel on the way to my home, I rumbled out in laughter to imitate All Might, as I had thought that applying for UA would turn out fine. Was I scared? Absolutely. Was I gonna let that stop me? No. The hollow tunnel only had a small sound from the sewage drain behind me, and this one encounter changed my life from then on.

I'm ending the first chapter here. I am the secondary author of this story, and I am also the future fight choreographer. Most fights in the original story of MHA have very slow-paced feels. I mean this in no negative way,I still do love the way MHA fights are written and paced, but just know that the fights in this specific fic are going to be quicker, and a lot more hand-to-hand heavy, just to add a bit of a quicker flare to the original story.
